Excellent food and staff..the only complaint is that I left smelling like I work in the kitchen. Bad kitchen ventilation.

Bloom has the feel of a hip lounge type coffee shop from Seattle. The staff was knowledgeble and friendly. We tried two breakfast sandwiches. The sausage and egg and the traditional breakfast sandwich. Although both were good they were hardly worth the $7 and $8 price tags. We attempted to order the Caramel apple french toast but is was out. This is the second time in two visits that they were out of one of their very limited menu items. Granola was also out today so 2 out of about 10 items were out at 10am on a Sunday. We advised the barista that our mocha wasnt sweet enough on our last visit and he suggested the vanilla mocha. A regular mocha is $4 and a large is only $4.25. The mocha itself was beautiful with a lovely heart pattern crafted into the foam. The foam of the mocha was thick and plentiful however the mocha lacked both chocolate and coffee flavor. I prefer coffee with a good strong flavor so this being Bloom's second strike we will not be back. read more

I will never come back here. I woke up early to go to this place and I showed up at 615am on a Wednesday. Their posted business hours on the door say they open at 6am. When I arrived the door was locked. The worker just stared at me from behind the counter when I knocked. I thought he had just forgotten to unlock the door. Finally he came around and said they don't open till 7 and closed the door in my face. It was so abrupt and so rude I will never come here again. read more

Amazing cappuccino! This place makes it right, not like Starbucks who loads up on the foam. My only gripe is it is tiny! But that's a traditional cappuccino so all you "venti" drinkers will be disappointed. Their peanut butter cookies are delicious! Soft and chewy just how I like them and their oatmeal is amazing as well (seriously the BEST oatmeal I have ever had due to their toppings). Is their a wait for your coffee/food? Sure. I have seen some other reviews get pissed at the wait time but you should have figured that out by looking at the place and notice only one person takes orders and the other one does the drinks. Good things take time to make. Be realistic with your expectations from a small coffee joint. read more

I was super excited when I first found this place after moving here from SF because it reminded me of places back home. I really love the decor but I didn't love my latte. I went back a few weeks later with two friends and we all ordered lattes again and they were not any better than the first time. They tasted watered down and like the espresso had been burned. They make their own vanilla extract! So they're vanilla lattes are out of this world. But if you're not rocking your tribal scarf, huge fake glasses and MacbookPro, you won't fit in. I really enjoy the casual, artistic environment at Bloom. The staff is always friendly and I really enjoy the simplicity of their menu. The coffee is quality coffee, I enjoy the little designs in my coffee and the pastries are a fun touch to my visits there. I definitely recommend trying their breakfast items, too! There are tables and chairs to enjoy inside as well as tables and chairs outside, I always enjoy seeing the artist that's featured and even seeing the artwork on the chalkboard walls in the bathrooms is fun. It's unique, fresh and a really nice change from the corporate coffee companies! read more

Love the brew-on-demand French press coffee

I don't usually come to this part of the town, but since I was already in the area, I thought I would use Yelp to find a good coffee shop to get my iced mocha before a long day. The actual shop is kind of hard to find even while using the iphone MAPS app. I found the place purely by luck because I randomly turned into the entrance of a parking lot and just somehow discovered that the coffee shop was in there. The front of the shop is not facing toward the main road FYI. The inside of the coffee shop is clean and has a very hippie feel to it. The shop is fairly small, but does have plenty of tables and seats to sit. There is not a drive thru in case you're wondering. The menu is very simple and straight forward enough. I ordered my iced mocha drink and waited for the barista to make it. The barista was busy making a drink and I thought it was my drink since when I first walked in, I was the only one who had ordered a drink besides the two men who came after me. Nope! The barista was actually about 4 orders in deep before he could get to my order. It was around 3:50pm and the service was slow so if you're in a hurry, you may want to reconsider getting a drink from here. I don't even want to imagine how it is during the morning rush if it is this slow late in the day. I don't know if maybe they're understaffed, but service was slow. I'm sitting there trying to be understanding and that was when I noticed that the guy who had ordered a drink AFTER me had gotten his drink before I did. Oh hell no! Ain't nobody got time fo dat! I finally got my drink and took a sip. This was not a good sip. My iced mocha tasted very watered down and I barely tasted any coffee or espresso. I always order iced mochas at every coffee shop that I go to and this one just didn't taste right. If I wasn't short on time, I think I would have asked for my money back. This shop left a very unpleasant taste in my mouth... literally. read more

I just came in from an all-day training. The day had gone well, but with all of the awesome information I'd learned, I NEEDED to come in and get a cup of Joe here at Bloom which was right nearby - I have a long night ahead of me with work and catching up on things before more training the rest of the weekend. I walked in, drearily set my stuff down and dragged myself to the counter where I ordered an almond-milk Americano from Jordan who was very persuasive in his suggestion. He was pleasant and easy-going and completely chill and that is EXACTLY what I needed after my very long day. *sigh* He quickly got me my caffeine and even walked it out to me (I was outside on the phone)! I've come to Bloom since it opened and have always enjoyed the atmosphere and the tea. I'm beyond thrilled that they offer almond milk as I'm dairy-free and, shockingly, there are many places that don't offer almond milk. Thank you so much for the great service and the relaxed environment. P.S. And there is an amazing guitar player playing some beautiful music right now - I don't know if he comes every Friday, but you should definitely come check it out! read more

If I can give them 0 stars I would. Went in and wasn't even greeted. Looked at the food menu in front of the cashier and when proceed to order a drink and a sandwich he tells me the kitchen is closed. He should've and could've told me that the kitchen was closed as I was discussing my order with the person I was with. When our drinks were done, they didn't even call us that our drinks were done. They left our drink on the counter. Will never come again - worst service ever. read more

Great Place, Uppety Crowd, Local Small business and some decent drinks and prices for the are and free wifi. Overall I will come back again.

Paying close to $3.75 for a small cup of mediocre hot chocolate should be an abomination. The only two couches there aren't comfortable. Lots of chairs, tables and outlets for those who come to study. Music leaves a little to desire-- much too loud/obnoxious for anyone to actually sit and enjoy a cup of coffee or get much studying done. read more

This is a good place to get a nice simple coffee, the menu is extremely limited so dont come in expecting to get starbucksified coffee. With that said, what they do serve is really good. The ambiance is a little lacking, it looks like the owners remodeled the place themselves and you can see wayward paint bits. Although I really like the coffee, I cant see myself coming here too often, it looks like its been taken over by the high school/Sierra college crowd who park for hours, are loud, give you looks if you are over 21. I'm not going to hold the clientele against this great coffee & tea house. It is simple, but uses wood menus and clean lines in their layout design. It feels very comfortable inside with plenty of counter space with electrical outlets. I usually have no business in the suburbs, but this place was the best choice and open late. I ended up having the Chai, which took a while to make fresh, but def worth the wait. The downside is the young fundamental Christian college crowd. I felt like I was going to be invited to a bible study, which appeared to be happening in the corner. read more

I would say this is one of the best coffee houses around. This is REAL coffee people. This is NOT Starbucks. This is sink your teeth into it amazing coffee with flavor and it's awesome. I have been a huge fan since they opened but with the recent changes to the food menu I won't be back. They have good coffee don't get me wrong but it's something you can find now a days with the boutique style coffee craz. What would draw me in over and over was the breakfast menu. With the elimination of all bacon dishes meaning there famous breakfast sandwich this turned me away to other shops. Sad cause it was one of the best things to eat for breakfast in town. read more

Great atmosphere nice and clean inside. I ordered an espresso and a scone. The scone was good and moist but I was looking for a little more of a typical dry scone. The espresso was a little too bitter for my taste but still good. I will be back to try their regular coffee and a different menu item as it's a great place to sit and get some work done. read more

Stopped by Bloom this morning after a haircut, this was my 2nd visit. There was a chalk board near the register that said corned beef hash on it, I asked how it was served, it was explained with enthusiasm, so I ordered. It was fantastic. Safe from the hippest of the hipsters at 8:30 on a Saturday, Yelpers did not disappoint in recommending this spot. Delicious coffee and scones and plenty of outdoor seating for my 2 year old to roam. Not very happy with this place, I showed up early Thursday morning and placed an order for a breakfast sandwich and potatoes and coffee. I wasn't informed until after I had already ordered and payed that they were out of potatoes?!? This would have completely changed my order if I would have known. Instead they brought me out a salad and by salad I mean 2 pieces of lettuce. The sandwich itself tasted ok but was not very substantial. I would not make a return trip. This is one of the best coffee shops I have been to in my life. I started coming to bloom not having a refined palate for coffee. I used to get coffee with a lot of sugar and milk to mask the taste but I found the baristas having a passion for coffee and trying to recreate it's masterfully crafted drinks in the purest form pushing me to try coffee with out the additives that take away from what coffee really is. now I enjoy Good coffee. They treat you like family and they know what they're talking about. So if you like crap coffee go somewhere else. these people are in a constant pursuit of excellence and strive to make the best coffee they can for the customer. read more

Blooms hit or miss and inconsistent. I've been a few times where they're out of Almond milk or other things and they just respond 'shipment will be here Thursday'. Or whatever day, days from then. If they were more consistent I'd definitely return, but after 5 times of hit or miss I'll take my dollar elsewhere. read more

After searching the Granite Bay area for a good coffee shop I found Bloom. I love mochas but I hate the sugary swill they serve in units of "pumps" at other, more commercial, shops. However, Bloom's mocha is artistically made with a velvety texture and subtle notes of high quality dark chocolate. Miles above anything I was expecting. My one critique would be that the primary flavor of their mocha was milk instead of espresso. Which is probably why the texture is so amazing. But a personal preference that might lead me to get an extra shot the next time I'm around. (I also ordered the large so that might have something to do with the ratio). All in all, Bloom is the best coffee in town. If you disagree then you're just a shill for the corporate megastructures of brand coffees...just kidding. But really, you have no taste. read more

Starting on the positive, the peeps are really nice and a groovy atmosphere. I've heard great things about the coffee there. Maybe I needed to just get a regular coffee rather than the double espresso. The expresso was more bitter than most other coffee shops, and i'm excluding Starbucks. They serve Verve roasted coffee which is probably the best small batch cup I've ever had. The food is also very nice. However, be forewarned that the service is very slow and the cashiers typically are not knowledge about their product. That said, I still will go nowhere else as I love the coffee. read more
