Seems like a classy kind of place, where the cool LA people go. But they served steak and other meats, so I was good. I have eaten breakfast here a couple of times and late night dinner multiple times. Not a big place, but never had to wait. (It was suggested that because it has no liquor license, it never gets that full). However, the food is first class and the coffee - regular or decaf - has been divine. Everything made is just a touch hipster and healthy. You know, water with cucumbers in it. I don't know how to explain their menu, other than that. If you have that person that loves kale and other harmful foods, this is the place. But you can have your burger (grass fed, of course) and fries as well. Me and my girlfriends and my Mom like this place a lot. It has a good breakfast with enough selections for our varied taste. The service is nice and quick. I love the veggie/quinoa omelette with egg whites. Parking is a bit of a pain because Pico is always crowded and the residential streets have restricted parking so don't spoil your meal by failing to read the restrictive parking signs. Usually there is enough street parking as long as you don't mind a walk of a block or so. read more

Unsurprisingly, we found ourselves to be the only patrons when we came by Bloom around 9am on a Monday morning. My friend said that this would have been far from the case during brunch on the weekends. I ordered the Winter Harvest scramble (or at least that's what I think it was called) and although it was obvious that quality ingredients were used, it was flavorless, even after a liberal application of salt and dousing with hot sauce. Not even the friendly service and interestingly designed seating patio cum greenhouse would prompt me to return here when there are so many other restaurants to explore in the city. read more

I think this place is great - cucumber water delicious. Food fresh and hot. Fresh squeezed OJ is fantastic. They refill the coffee quick and yes sometimes it takes a while to get the check but I'm in no rush. Its a relaxed atmosphere which is why I like it. Great outdoor seating as well. read more

Stopped in for a quick bite of dinner with our kids before a show at the Mint, and had a meal that was so wonderful, I still haven't stopped thinking about it. My husband and I both had the turkey burger salad. What an amazing turkey burger! The combination of flavors was outrageously delicious! He ordered a cup of turkey chili, and it was so good, that I ended up sharing it with him. Service was wonderful and I loved the cucumber water! I'm dying to go back, but we are rarely in that area! I had been looking forward to this place for a while. I went with my cousin who raves about this place. I had the yummy goat cheese, pine nut salad--my cousin the chipotle mexican style salad--they were both big enough but we ate all of them and had room for dessert. Just a note about prices, thank God, they have been reduced to what they were when they opened, so I can now justify eating there more often! Also, had brunch here for the first time in a while, and I'm changing my rating from four to five stars. It was excellent. Had the egg dish with asparagus and avacado. One friend had the oatmeal which was spectacular (who knew oatmeal could actually be exciting) and the other had the granola which was equally fantastic. This is a great brunch place. It has a fun vibe, a mix between colorful and kid'ish. The food is also very good. The mac n cheese reminds me of an alfredo pasta, which I like, so it was good. I've been here twice now. The first was for a late lunch, and I think I had a tofu salad thing, that was wonderful and fresh but kind off too small. The second time was for brunch but I opted for the vegetable curry. Everything I've had here is good, but never quite outstanding enough for the price. I live near this place and get take out while passing on my walks with my dog. If you are getting take out, order in advance because it is a 15 minute wait that feels like 20-30 minutes! Call or order online, you get 5% off if you order online. They make it fresh so it's understandable. It's been a while since I've been back and the menu has changed dramatically. I used to always get the spicy Thai chicken salad. I remember it being super crispy and tasty. I would always be upset after waiting for my salad to be made, but once I got home and tasted the salad, my steam is gone and replaced by a happy satisfaction. read more

I've eaten here twice including today. It's all healthy and organic and free range and had songs sang to it before being butchered, blah, blah, blah. The food though is very fresh and tasty. The food was good, but the service was great. I was not all pleased with the food because it tastes very "healthy." I got the Tuna sandwich, and took a few bites and was not very pleased with it. I love Bloom Cafe! It's healthy, fresh and I'm obsessed with the ahi tuna salad. I also love the liquid meal options which work great when you're on the go and don't have time to eat real food. I was really hopeful for this restaurant but fairly dissatisfied. Despite us arriving earlier, other customers' orders were written down and served to them before us. Our water, let alone our drinks, arrived when we were already half way through our meals despite us requesting them. Once they arrived, my green juice was very pulpy; it was blended not juiced vegetables. I ordered lemon ricotta pancakes since I love the one's I order at Four Cafe!!! The lemon ricotta pancakes at Bloom Cafe were slightly burnt, I barely detected the lemon and the ricotta wasn't well incorporated into the batter, so they were lumpy. Bloom Cafe used to be my regular on easy friday evenings. It's a great location away from everything. Away from Hollywood, Westwood, downtown, it's a good fix for the new organic craze. The price is expected, it FEELS expensive for what you get. I personally think that's what every organic food place feels like, so I don't think that really is a serious problem. The meals are unique but one time through the menu you find your favorite. I always like the experience but every now and then on busy nights I do feel a big ignored. Oh and a random plus is they dim the lights after like 7p so it gives it a nice moody feel. read more

butternut squash pizza!!! need i say more? . . . well i shouldn't but i will. adore bloom cafe for the following reasons: 1. byow. no corkage fee. 2. dine in the back. outdoor seating and illuminated by christmas lights (i think) very charming. (i doubt a review can do it justice, just go and experience it). 3. super yummy pizzas (which i perfect for sharing) i go with the butternut squash, and potatoes and rosemary.
