Bloom has been on my "must try" list since it opened and I was thrilled to try it out today. First off, beautiful decor that makes it very inviting from the get go. We were seated immediately for a table of 2 which was awesome. As we sat, we were automatically served with 2 glasses and a giant water bottle to share amongst each other from a busser(?) I'm assuming. A couple of minutes go by, we were greeted by our server, Jazmine. She seemed irritated to serve us from the start of our interaction with her. Asked us if we'd like anything to drink and we each ordered orange juice. She then "rings" in our drink order and comes back a few moments later to grab our food order. We ordered the chicken and waffle, sweet potato sushito hash, and the bacon. Looking around, I noticed the server's section. Everyone had already gotten their drinks. Might I add, we sat first then most of these tables and we're also only 2 guests versus a party of 6. I understand, maybe they're still juicing the orange juice. I give them the benefit of the doubt hoping it'll show up shortly. Our food arrives and presentation was phenomenal. The bacon was pretty good. Nice and crisp, and slightly thicker than the average bacon that most breakfast joints serves. The sweet potato sushito hash was okay. I asked for over easy eggs and it came out over hard. The hash itself needed some more seasoning. I would've asked the server for some salt and pepper but she never came by to check on us after taking our order. I would've also asked her for our orange juice which we still, at this point, still haven't received. The chicken and waffles weren't as impressive as they look. Waffles were very dense and the chicken was burnt which made it super dry. I'm waiting at the table just to see if this server will ever come back to our table to check in on us as I can see she's doing that to every other table except ours. When we were all finished, the server comes by the pick up our plates and dropped off the check. Good thing she didn't charged us for the orange juices because we never got them. It's not that hard when you're using a pos system like Toast. You have a handheld device that you can order the item(s) at the table. Overall experience was okay. 2 stars mainly for the service. I would come back and try other things but I wouldn't want to receive that same service I had today. The food speaks for itself. The steak is cooked exactly to order, every single time. Medium rare means medium rare tender, juicy, and full of flavor. The duck fat potatoes are so good I order an extra side even when they come with my entrée. My wife loves their chicken and waffles. It's a difficult meal to pull off, but Bloom does it justice! The chilaquiles are outstanding they genuinely capture authentic Mexican flavors in a way that holds up against homemade family recipes and the best taquerias I've been to. The cocktails here are the best in the Bay as well. They taste delicious, and the presentation is eye-catching and photo-worthy. They're also strong without sacrificing taste, which is so hard to find. Sometimes a cocktail is delicious but weak, or strong but unpleasant. Bloom's drinks are perfectly balanced every time. Our favorite drink is the Palomina. It's refreshing, complements the food beautifully, and it's the kind of drink that keeps you sipping until the glass is empty. If you're looking for a insta-worthy brunch place, then you've come to the right place. This place is right off San Thomas and is always popping! SERVICE: It gets reeeeeaaaalllyyyy busy on the weekends so make sure to come early to join the wait list (45 - 1 hour wait time typically). The food comes out ok, but since it's busy, it's understandable. AMBIANCE: Very noisy. It's noisier than other cafes I've gone to. Maybe it's due to the size of the place. But there is adequate room in the restaurant. If you're trying to have a conversation, just repeat it again lol. Love the plants and decor BTW. FOOD: I tried the Carnitas Bene(dict), (that's how they have it on their menu), churro waffle their house lemonade. Their carnitas were good, but I wish the meat was crispier. I liked they bake their own English muffin which was soft and airy but had a good bite. The green sauce (they had red too) that came with it was good. It wasn't "heavy" at all so I ate the whole thing. Also, get.their.PO.TAY.TOES. If you like garlic fries, these are like their equally handsome twin brother. The churro waffles where light and airy and true to it's description, it tasted of dulce de Leche (which was delightful). The fruit that they include compliments the whole waffle. On a separate visit, I tried their steak and eggs. The steak is cooked to your liking and they knocked it out of the park. We gladly informed the staff that we could switch to a smaller table (that seats 4) to let another group sit accordingly. New seating was shifted, but our flatware and water was not shifted. I asked the friendly staff to have the items delivered. But you can feel the rush/tension/uneasiness. Now, at our smaller table, we had flatware for 9! The friendly ninja staff are quick! But now we have no space at the table and I just set them down on the fourth chair. It was super jam packed with customers -yay- but the friendly ninja staff was in a rush and CRASH a ton of glassware went to the ground. Fortunately, nobody was hurt, but it was quite a scene. I have always wanted to come here ever since it popped up on my Yelp suggestion. I wanted to try their salmon eggs benedict, but ended up getting the bacon and avocado eggs benedict instead. I would have preferred for the bread to be a bit softer because it was kind of hard to cut through and chew in parts where there was no egg. I am not a big potato lover, but their potato was good in my opinion so it may be amazing for those that like potatoes. Their mimosa was also good, but lacked the orange part of the title. There was an orange slice on the cup and I was able to get an orange aftertaste, but I just assumed that there would be at least some or a bit more orange flavor to it. The waffles are a standout (according to my 11 year old, Jacob :) The French toast gobbled down between all of us, as if we hadn't eaten in over a week! The staff were attentive, helpful and overall amazing. The space was clean, organized and well ran.
