Stopped by yesterday with my kid, and we had a really nice experience. The restaurant is beautiful, very clean, and has a welcoming atmosphere. We ordered the Morning Thai Cioppino and the Pimped Up Ramyun, and both were excellent. The Morning Thai Cioppino had a bold, authentic tom yum flavor with just the right balance of spice and tanginess. The Pimped Up Ramyun was a pleasant surprise. It definitely gave me instant ramen vibes, but in the best way possible. It was comforting, flavorful, and clearly made with much better ingredients than your average cup of ramen. Craving brunch after a workout, so we stopped by Sweet Maple and went straight for their Tornado Omurice, which is still one of our all-time favorite dishes from here. We also tried the Holy Cow Salad, which comes with a mix of greens, galbi meat, and Kewpie sauce. To be honest, though, this one was kind of a miss for me. There wasn't really a wow factor, and the whole dish felt pretty mid. The Tornado Omurice, on the other hand, was flavorful as usual! The meat was super tender and definitely braces-approved, which is always a win. Service was decent, especially considering how packed the place was over the weekend. I can see why people come all the way here for there millionaire bacon. It is absolutely phenomenal! Service was relatively fast for a brunch spot and very organized (we put our name down on the yelp waitlist and indicated our preference and why and we were seated within 15-20 min). We sat at the patio because I brought my dog with us. Outside seating is very nice and they have plenty of shade. The omurice was okay. There wasn't a wow factor to it. Go to the other Sweet Maple locations instead!! This one just isn't it. The food is still good, but the location itself is too stressful. The biggest issue is the parking. This has to be one of the worst parking lots in the South Bay. It's a small narrow lot with angled parking, and I've never been able to find an open spot. You can't park across the street because those 2-3 spaces are reserved for another business, so your only real option is to park on the residential street but that's usually already full of residents' cars. The layout of the restaurant is also lacking. There isn't a designated waiting area, so everyone waiting for a table ends up standing around the entrance, making it feel crowded and chaotic. The outdoor seating area is right next to the host stand, so there's a constant stream of people checking in and adding their names to the waitlist. It's also next to a busy street so you'll hear cars driving by and honking which can be overwhelming. The food is still very good (I really like the omurice and the sizzling stone pot), but everything about the hectic ambiance takes away from the overall experience. I'd rather go to the Palo Alto location instead of dealing with the parking at this location... read more

Also, we found parking right away since they have plenty of parking around the building. The host did not seem happy to be working on a Monday. She asked for how many and that's it. A delicious brunch spot with such unique dishes. I visited on a Saturday morning and waited around 30 minutes. If you're visiting on a weekend for brunch, be prepared for a bit of a wait. The interior of the store is decorated beautifully, and there's also a lot of outdoor seating. The menu looked fantastic. Final Thoughts: 4.00/5 This place technically should have been on my to-go list a while ago, but my friends had a really poor experience with this place, so I just never wanted to go. I typically find that these places do get somewhat more crowded during these times because of the hype and optimal brunch times. Will vary depending on the day and time and perhaps by luck. Food: Tornado Galbi Omurice: 4.0/5 This was my choice today. It came with a galbi and vegetable fried rice base, scrambled eggs tornadoed on top, cherry peppers, galbi for protein, and the demi-glaze all around. The bulgogi is very tender and has a lot of flavor to it. While the vegetable rice does add another component to it, I personally would have preferred white rice with the vegetables on the side or something similar. This is just a personal preference. I just like the simplicity of an omurice dish with white rice though. The egg was nicely done. It's a very thin layer of egg, which I personally really like. It incorporates well into each bite. Demi-glaze was also quite umami, there's a nice balance of sweetness to it, which I enjoyed. Loco Moco: 4.0/5 This was my friend's dish and I was able try it today. The dish has a wagyu beef cutlet, sauted kimchi, bell peppers, mushrooms, onions, egg, and rice with gravy. The beef was juicy and the flavor was overall good. This was also something I contemplated to get. Very umami, some sweetness and a bit of a kick and acidity from the kimchi. Side of Fries: 4.2/5 We ordered a side of fries and these are really good. Their fried potatoes in general are really good because it's a nice crunch on the outside with some potato and body on the inside. This paired so well with their dipping sauce. Appears to be an aioli of sorts, but no one quote me on that. Matcha Moffle: 4.2/5 This is their matcha mochi waffle. The plate comes with two waffles and strawberries on top for some freshness. The texture of a mochi waffle is always my favorite because it's slightly chewy on the inside and crispy on the outside. The matcha flavor does come through and the matcha cream on the side gives it that additional kick of matcha. It doesn't need syrup or anything, but you can ask for it if you have a sweet tooth. My one minute note is the garnish. We could take this off, but the mint leaf just looked wilted on the hot waffle and was unappealing to have on that pretty plate of waffles. Drink: Matcha Paradise: 4.0/5 This drink is essentially a coconut water base with matcha cream on top. The sweetness was nice and it was really refreshing. The cream is thick, but incorporates well into the drink. My one note is that the matcha isn't too strong and I would have loved a deeper flavor for it. Otherwise, this drink is really refreshing. Sweetness was actually also quite good. --------- Quality: Their food seems alright. The dishes came out hot and crispy, so they appear to be made to order. The sweet potatoes were especially crispy and very delightful to bite into. The color of the matcha appears lighter and somewhat more oxidized to me, so I'm not sure what kind of matcha is used for this drink. My preference is a rich ceremonial grade matcha, which has a different color that is more bright and vibrant than this. Price: $$ -- $$$ The prices are definitely on the higher end. Price ranges will be between $15 to $25 with some outliers. Their portion sizes do appear of optimal size. I wasn't able to finish my food (as I never do), but it was a large enough portion. There is one main person that helps you, but another waiter did come to serve us while we were trying to flag them down. This seems to be the expectation, but it's not usually the case sometimes. Crispy outside, rich inside. Winner. + Grand Marnier: French toast. Not bad, not as good as the other carby breakfasts. + Millionaires bacon. Korean fusion pork side. It comes on a plate, or chopped up in omlets or the brussel spouts. Honestly, just get the original, on the plate. Do NOT get the combo sampler. + Brussel sprouts. Slathered in sauce, with bits of said Millionares bacon. Good. Sort of counts as a veggie, if it wasn't for all the sauce and meat. + Omlets: Standard. This morning I had the Sweet Maple omlet, california style. Comes with hollandaise sauce. Nice. The tricolored home fries were warm and delicious. + Sizzling Stonepot: Lots of veggies, with eggs and some kind of meat. Rice is nice and crispy. Veggies are hot and crunchy. Meat out of sight. Good for lunch. - Chicken Croffle. As crazy as it looks (waffles with fried chicken stabbed through with a steak knife). What you see is what you taste. Lots of salty deep fried stuff. Too much for the average bear. - Avocado croffle. All these croissant mix waffle things are kind of soggy. I wasn't a fan. - Ramyum: A beef skillet with a cup of noodles spilled out. Gimmick. Tastes like premium meat with cheap top ramen sprinkled on. But insta worthy i guess. // DRINKS + Fresh squeezed juice. OJ and Grapefruit. One sip, and you'll feel the antioxidents and sugar flowing through your body. + Ube Latte. Signature drink. Look at all the pretty pictures. + Oat matcha latte: Warm and creamy. I like + Tea: They use premium tea forte. You can buy it on Amazon, but they'd prefer you drink it from them. In closing, I'd like to say the servers are like family. Depending on what day we come, we see the different shifts. So kind and personable, with great service. They're quite excellent. Do come early. Within an hour of opening, especially on weekends, expect to wait up to an hour. They use yelp to queue, but only in person. And parking--same thing. Been wanting to come here for a while!! My friend and I came on Valentine's Day and boy was it crowded! She had checked us in on yelp which made the whole process super fast. Parking is few and far in between but I guess you can park across the street at the gas station? I ended up parking in the neighborhood, it was a good walk away but didn't mind it since we had to wait anyway. The overall wait wasn't even too bad, maybe like 20-25 minutes. Once seated, service was super friendly, efficient and fast! There is outdoor seating and inside seating in a quaint cute little setting. I got the California burger with fries and it was so so juicy and good!! Fries were plenty and the dip was delish! I'd totally get again! My friend who has been before got her usually of the chicken croffle and I tried it and it was so so good. The chicken was so crispy and perfect and the croffle was a fun twist! Probably some of the best brussel sprouts I've had! I always order these wherever I go, and these are top tier, rich with the millionaire bacon but I love how they're leafs vs chunks of Brussels. This was my second time coming and I felt like it was time for a review. I came in around noon and was seated right away while I waited for my friend. They have a wide variety of menu options-all things sweet and savory. My friend got the tornado galbi omurice and I got the blueberry moffle with a side of eggs and millionaires bacon (2 pieces). For drinks I got an ube latte and she got an affogato. We shared and everything was delicious! I barely finished my food and my friend took her leftovers to go. They definitely give you enough food. Justin was our server. He cleaned the table I wanted even though there were other tables available. He was very nice and came by to check on us to make sure we had everything we needed. Our total was $80 so this place isn't cheap but it's very good and I would come again. Loud atmosphere and bright lighting. We were seated at one of 2 fireplace tables. Service was great overall and clean restaurant. My friend and I were not fans of their iced caffeinated drinks. The matcha in the matcha latte, for example, had yellow undertones, indicating near expiration and low quality. I was expecting to taste the espresso in the dirty ube latte, but it mainly tasted like a sweet sugar drink. We enjoyed the main dishes, blueberry moffle and oscar Benedict. The chicken mango sausage was plain with no hint of mango. Just tasted like an ordinary sausage. The fruit on the blueberry moffle were fresh, and I enjoyed the chewy texture, as expected of a mochi-based waffle. The sauce on the Oscar Benedict (cucumber wasabi hollandaise) paired well with the Dungeness crab and capers. I normally despise spinach due to the chalky effect on my teeth and the high iron, but the spinach was cooked well and didn't coat my teeth. read more
