Located on Newbury, this place can be super packed depending when you're visiting. They have a wide variety of teas, milk teas, and even hot teas. I can definitely say this is a place that even older people would enjoy since the teas are not too sweet, but you can always adjust to your liking. They have hands down one of the best fruit teas, made with fresh fruit. I love this on a hot summer day as it is super refreshing and so good to have while walking on Newbury. So happy that Yi Fang has opened up in Boston! We went during the soft opening on Friday, July 2, and it was busy but the line still moved decently fast. I got the fruit tea and it tasted a bit watered down but I still enjoyed it! My boyfriend got the pineapple green tea and he liked his too. Because it was soft opening, all the drinks were 50% off. This made our drinks pretty cheap, but if I recall correctly, normal prices are not too bad either. As for the quality of the drinks, you can definitely tell that they put a lot of thought into both the ingredients and actually making it. I love this place! My favorite bubble tea places of all in Boston. The bubbles are always so fresh and chewy, soft and not hard, and flavorful (not bland). Their teas are very good, fresh and not too strong/bitter or light, and they use fresh dairy and also have non dairy options for anyone who needs non dairy options. I personally like the wintermelon latte (they call it latte here but it's milk tea) with tapioca / bubbles. Their drinks are good both iced and cold. I've had their hot drinks (ginger milk tea, taro milk tea, black milk tea) before which are all good. The menu will list all the bubble milk teas as "lattes" I noticed but it's really milk tea. read more

Disclaimer: I am very particular about my brown sugar black tea milk tea, and this milk tea shop didn't cut it. An ideal cup of milk tea for me is creamier and roaster with strong tea and brown sugar smeared down the sides of the cup as advertised. The reality cup I got was a thin flavored sugary milk drink. Another amazing boba place on Newbury St. to try out! As you walk in you can smell the aroma of egg pancakes being made. So many drink choices to choose from, but since they're known for fruit tea I went with multi-floral honey mountain tea with boba and custard egg pancakes. They have a minimum charge of $10 for using credit cards. They have small boba, but there is a lot of it. The drink was sweet from the honey and you could also taste the tea flavor that wasn't over-brewed. The egg pancakes were fluffy and the custard inside them was tasty. Nothing overly sweet, but the egg pancakes were a great snack to enjoy with the drink. This place also has a few tables in the back of the store, a perfect nook to get some work done. I'd definitely recommend trying this place out and I hope to be back soon to try out more drinks! read more

Got the Yi Fang Fruit tea and brown sugar pearl latte to go. My Wife really liked the brown sugar latte as it was not too sweet and the small boba was flavorful and still chewy after 40 min drive. Fruit tea was good but not the best I had before. The passion fruit is a bit annoying if not expected but common ingredient for fruit tea. Also menu in store is a bit different on the website. I cannot recommend this place enough. After finding out that there is a location in Stamford, I was thrilled and have been going there ever since. Their service, communication have been fantastic. If you have not tried their signature fruit tea, you must try it. They are delicious! I would give 5 stars if their fruit tea is on par with the flushing locations. Flushing still seems to have more variety of fruits filled up in the tea. I ordered the taro green tea latte, which is green tea mixed with milk poured over a layer of mashed taro. (This is not the same as taro flavored boba which is a pigmented purple.) I picked 30% sweetness which was perfect. There was a lot of ice in this drink, and the ice level was not adjustable. Next time I'd opt for the large. I was a bit disappointed that there weren't that many fruit tea options. We got the Yi Fang fruit tea 50% sugar no ice and it was delicious! It has a lot of delicious passion fruit flavor/pulp and seeds. It has the apple and orange slices that need to be dredged out afterwards if desired. My all time favorite fruit tea is from Twinkle Brown Sugar in the SGV -- they chop up the kiwi, strawberry, and mango or pineapple into pieces that can be sipped up with a boba straw. I have yet to find such a place in the Boston area! Anyways, the fruit tea was very solid and I would get it again. The matcha brown sugar pearl latte was pretty disappointing. The pearls were very nice and soft but the latte part was quite grainy -- likely due to failed incorporation of matcha powder? Also, we got 50% sugar and were expecting it to be sweet enough given the big layer of brown sugar pearls, but it was lacking flavor a bit.
