I just came in again because of their boba drink shaped pancakes!!! It's so cuteee and tastes amazing!!! The back and the front says has their logo!! I tried the boba flavored one and the custard flavored one. The custard is my favorite!! Honestly, there's a lot of boba stores in Newbury street but I keep coming back to YiFang because of their mango pomelo sago drink! I got the mango pomelo sago and when I tell you it's the best drink i've ever had...i'm not exaggerating. While it was a bit crowded inside but I didn't mind it. It only goes to show how popular it and good this place is!! The mango was super fresh and I loved the texture of the sago, though I don't generally like bigger tapioca pearls so that may be just bias. Overall I really recommend and you should check out!! Amazing bobas, especially 50% off! I came in twice during their soft opening. The first time I ordered their speciality fruit tea, the second time I ordered the brown sugar boba. 5/5- Fruit Tea (30% sugar, less ice) The fruit tea was amazing at 30% sugar. They used real fruits and it was the perfect sweetness for me. It was extremely refreshing, especially during the heatwave. There are some black seeds in there that some people might not like so keep in mind. 3/5 - Brown Sugar Milk Tea (fixed levels) The brown sugar boba I found a bit lacking. I liked how I can feel the warm mess of the pearls as I hold it in my hands and how sweet and chewy they are. I also like how they are smaller than average, like Tiger Sugar's size. The pearls are the perfect distraction to the mediocre tea. I can barely taste any tea in there. I saw the owner answered to a similar review that you can ask for more tea taste and I will definitely try that next time, but why not just have more of a tea taste in general? The service was great and the employees were nice and efficient. The cashier even recommended what sugar level for me to get for someone who like things not too sweet. The interior was nice and clean as well. In terms of boba in Newbury, they are on equal footing with Ten One Tea House for me! But their style of drinks are different enough. Amazing fruit tea. I usually get mine with 50% sugar and it was just right. The pearls are smaller than the ones you get in other shops, Ama I liked it so much better. They was a good amount of them, felt very soft and chewy, and didn't stick to your teeth. The fruits were fresh and the seeds added a nice crunch to it. Don't let the long line discourage you. My go-to bev used to be their Grass Jelly Tea Latte with oat milk... I got it ALL the time!! They don't have this as a menu item anymore so I ordered a black tea latte with grass jelly during my most recent visit to make up for it. Still delish! Their regular sugar level is perfect for me so no adjustments are needed. Grass jelly has been my go-to topping lately so I've had my fair share of it from shops like Gong Cha, Tea Do, and Kung Fu Tea as well. It's safe to say Yi Fang has the tastiest grass jelly. :- ) I just wish they offered a little more in terms of portions! I'm not a huge fan of their boba because I think it's a bit too soft with lots of excess goop. I do like that it's not super sweet. The interior of Yi Fang is super cute with a good amount of seating but it can get a bit crowded near the doorway area if you're picking up/waiting for your order. Lovely spot to grab a couple of fruit teas and chat with your friend(s). The first time I visited, I was afraid that there weren't going to be enough seating since Newbury St spaces fill up quickly. Not the case here at Yi Fang. There are plenty of seats and service here is insanely fast so there's never a long wait for drinks. I'm not a boba fanatic so I have yet to try their boba. The absolute best boba tea! I love coming here with my friends after school. Here are some things you should be aware of if you plan on visiting: 1) It's pricy. Plan on spending 7 to 8 dollars on a drink. 2) This isn't your place for a quick tea run. There's almost always a line and the orders take a bit to be prepared. I'd say usually I'm in and out in about 10 to 15 minutes. 3) If you're a COVID narc, this might not be the place for you. Between the time your order takes, the amount of people there, and the fact that the locale is small, it isn't exactly the safest place COVID-wise. Despite what I mentioned above, it's still some of the best boba I've ever had, and if you have the money and time, it's definitely a place you should visit. Was at the front spinning the wheel on Sunday 7/9 at 1pm. There was 3 of us in the family. My husband spin and got a 15% and I asked is it for the whole family and they said one spin for one person. Okay so I spin and got a "sorry" and I asked "so I got nothing?" and they say "yeah, sorry!" And my son spins and he got a 15%. If she's good in marketing, she would say I will give you one more chance. Here's the thing, I was the biggest fan of Yi Fang tea for many years, my family didn't even care and just follow me. The spin wheel is to get customers inside, if the woman at the wheel is smart she'd say, hey it's okay, the 15% is for the family and everyone is happy, win-win! I was very thirsty I went in anyway and my husband gave the 15% coupon and the guy applied it to our entire order! Okay now, that woman made me upset and I unfollowed you on Instagram. So now you gained an unhappy customer who felt she wasn't appreciated. Stupid of her to do that while the cashier inside didn't even care! Bad marketing and she shouldn't be standing outside! Amazing new bubble tea option for Back Bay. When I have bubble tea I usually go for a fruit tea option with added boba. Just recently I was wondering why, out of the seemingly endless bubble tea shops in the Boston area, there weren't any that specialized in fruit teas... Then this place goes and appears out of nowhere. The bubble tea gods must really like me! I tried the Yi Fang Fruit tea with boba, which is their specialty, as well as the passion fruit green tea. Both were really great with amazing fresh fruit flavor. They also use smaller than average boba, but they give you a large portion of them and they are perfectly cooked. I'd recommend choosing a lower sugar level on the Yi Fang Fruit tea as it is a little sweet, but otherwise it's one of the best bubble tea drinks I've had. One word of caution though. Some of their fruit drinks seem to contain little crunchy black seeds. They are a nice addition that add some texture to the drink, but I would just be careful to chew them first so you don't choke. read more

We decided to try this place out. Unfortunately some flavors were out due to Covid delays like passion fruit and some plum flavor. I ordered a grass jelly latte with boba. Unfortunately had to get a large since it wouldn't fit in a medium. The grass jelly and boba was fresh, but the drink lacked tea flavor. Also the boba was smaller than expected but I didn't mind that at all. We also got black tea macchiato with green tea jelly. Good flavor but not a salty foam fan. We ordered the egg pancakes, taro and bb milk tea. Wish the taro had more flavor and the inside didn't seem cooked enough or it's just the way it was. It was still a bit runny inside. The bb milk tea one was good but wish the milk tea flavor was spread out more. It was only at the top, again, wasn't sure if it's supposed to be like that. I have been enjoying trying the various boba shops on/around Newbury St, and recently decided to check out newly opened Yi Fang Tea. I ordered the brown sugar latte w/boba, which was pretty good. Similar to what some other reviewers here described, I found the taste to be more creamy/centered around the boba and dash of brown sugar than the tea itself. The boba were very good (a lil smaller, which was a bit different). It had me wondering if I should have went w/the fruit teas instead. The cashier was super friendly and the space was nice. If I come back, perhaps the fruit tea selection may be the way to go. read more

I've tried almost all the bubble teas in Boston and this is hands down the best. Loved their mango sago smoothie but it's seasonal. Their yi fang fruit tea with 30% sugar and green tea jelly is also very good! If you like traditional tasting drinks, give the grass tea with grass jelly a try. Drinks are $$$ but you get quality drinks in return. Also, the employees here are super friendly. One of them even gave me a 10% off VIP card which is good until the end of the year. read more

Stopped by on Monday for opening weekend! They had a line outside but kept it moving! I ordered the brown sugar pearl latte and the passion fruit green tea with reduced sugar. The pearls were still warm and the milk was so creamy without being overly sweet. This item comes with fixed sweetness and ice and I wouldn't change a thing in it! The passion fruit tea was perfect for summer! Not overly sweet (definitely recommend reduced sweetness because it was perfect), this tea was phenomenal. Will certainly be back!
