Won't be back in. The bagels are ok - I mostly used this location out of convenience, since they are walking distance from my house. A few months ago, my mom was in town visiting, so I stopped here for a few bagels. Walked up to the counter and chose 3 or 4 misc bagels based on what was in the bins - one being an everything bagel. I noticed there were only two or three left in the bin. While the person was putting my order together, someone came out of the back and grabbed all of them for an order. I didn't think anything of it, as the person helping me also appeared to complete my order - I figured they grabbed a fresh everything bagel out of the back. However, it wasn't until I got home that I realized they had substituted one of their everything "flagels" - the flat bagels instead. Now, ok - it wasn't that big of a deal, it's still kind of similar, but seemed shady. They could have asked about the substitution or if I wanted a different bagel all together, but there was no mention of it. This wasn't enough to keep me from coming back, just something that stuck in my mind. Fast forward to today... I walk in and I'm #4 in line. I wait patiently. As person #2 is being helped, a woman walks in off the street, cuts the whole line and walks up to the left side of the counter with her money in hand. She turns to the guy immediately in front of me and says that "she placed an order" (I assume over the phone). The guy replies that he too called in his order and says something to her along the lines of "must be nice to just walk in while we are all on line." I watch the scene unfold, and they take care of the guy in front of me. It's now my turn, and as I'm (literally) stepping up to order (two bagels with nothing on them, just two bagels is ALL I wanted, and waited at least 10 min for at this point)... The cashier, who should be helping me, turns to the line cutter to collect her money. Oh. Hell. No. I spun so fast and walked out. Granted I was only buying two bagels this time (clearly not hurting their bottom line), but never again. I will drive 10-15 minutes out of my way rather than step foot back in here. 2 stars because the bagels are ok, this is more about service. read more

Went there today and ordered a Taylor Ham, Egg and cheese. After five minutes of waiting in this near empty bagel shop I was asked again what I ordered. I repeated my order, and they decide to get started making it. 12 minutes after ordering I had my sandwich. Was asked if I wanted ketchup on the side. I replied that I wanted it on the sandwich as I had requested. More time waiting while this accommodation was made. I get home, open my bag, and find a Taylor Ham sandwich. No egg, no cheese. Five dollars in the garbage. I can understand this type of error at 9am on a Saturday in a busy shop but the place was empty. Absolutely awful service. Never Again read more

funny,i wrote a review not too long ago that seems to have disappeared. I used to live around the corner from here and often ordered, being lured in by what sounded like good food... if I ordered 10 times, my order was somehow wrong, cold, forgotten or missing something EVERY TIME. one time that stands out in my mind was when a friend and I ordered French toast, a well done taylor ham/egg/cheese sandwich and a toasted onion bagel. Over an hour later (again, this was AROUND THE CORNER) we got an untoasted garlic bagel, a sandwich with barely cooked taylor ham, and cold French toast with NO BUTTER OR SYRUP. when we complained that the food was in edible and missing crucial elements (i.e. syrup for the French toast) we were told they would bring us syrup and 3 free bagels. Great. if we'd wanted bagels, we would have ordered them; as it was, the one we did order was wrong. the syrup finally came about 45 minutes after the original delivery... suffice to say, it was too late. I was put off by all this,but one of the women I used to work with swore by them so I often had to give in and order again from there... about twice I ordered the Tuscan Steak Panini sans sundried tomatoes (I HATE them) and it was great, although it was missing the promised pickle and potato salad. Anytime since then I've tried it, it's been wrong, most times because it has sundried tomatoes,which again, to me, are a deal breaker. I never learn my lesson, though. I was recently close by and stopped in for a bagel at around 2 pm. their hours state they're open until 3, but I was told the toaster had already been shut off for the day. but, ummmm, you sell BAGELS and are open til THREE, or so the signs say! I like this place, but their service leaves MUCH TO BE DESIRED. The workers are all very nice and the food is good, but nothing can explain waiting almost 30 mins for one sandwich and two buttered bagels when the order was called in when I left my house. When I finally asked someone to check on my order, it turns out my sandwich and one bagel were sitting there waiting and the only hold up was they "were waiting on the fresh onion bagels to come out of the oven" WHEN THERE WERE STILL at least 6 onion bagels already in the bin. read more

I don't normally write reviews, but I had such an unpleasant experience ordering from Bloomfield's Best. I ordered a breakfast quesadilla and specially asked for cheese and steak only. When I opened the container at home I saw that it was stuffed with peppers and onions. I called and asked if I can return and have a new one made. They spoke with the manager and said no sorry there is nothing we can do and was about to hang up the phone. However I still needed breakfast so I asked if they can make a new one anyway and I'll just pay for it. So I'm writing the review more because after returning to pick up my new order and explaining the situation in person to the manager with the bald head he seemed very careless and responded with "there's nothing we can do". So if you're looking to order something specific be prepared to pay for their mistake and the one you originally wanted. read more

This is my favorite quick breakfast spot in town. I always stop here before work since they open really early. Their bagels are perfect- soft and fresh. The service is excellent. The staff is always friendly! Weekend mornings is usually super busy because everyone comes here. If you like bagels, this is a great spot. Also, they have the best coffee!! I actually think it's comparable to dunkin and starbucks (if you know how to mix your own coffee well). Can't comment on lunch items. As others have commented, the main issue with this place is delivery. We ordered two bagels with cream cheese. We live 5 minutes from the shop. It took 1.5 hours to deliver our food...and that was after 5 calls from the delivery person saying they can't find our street. The bagels were decent (although I prefer more cream cheese, especially because the bagels are so fat and fluffy) but the delivery just killed it. read more

Bagels taste good and prices are good, but can only go here if you have plenty of time and are not remotely hungry. Place can be empty and you should expect to wait at least 15 minutes to get a single sandwich. If there is anybody ahead of you add 10-20 minutes minimum per person before you get served. Tried to avoid this wait by ordering by phone and was put on hold for literally, no exaggeration, 10 minutes, listening as other person was also placed on hold and can hear that nobody got back to second caller. Tried to order online but no option to get sandwich on an egg bagel, and no option to add a note. Finally gave up and called and placed an order at Hot Bagels Abroad which took less than a minute despite the fact that Hot Bagels Abroad is always super busy. read more

But because of the absurd filtering system used by Yelp I had promised that I'd never bother with looking at Yelp reviews anyway. In this case it worked out well! In a nutshell, everything was YUMMY! The name is a little misleading, it should be called Bloomfield's Best Bagels (but kinda sorta ok service) I ordered two bagels, one bacon, egg and cheese and one well done taylor ham, egg and cheese both on toasted everything bagels. After waiting for 15 minutes I went back up to the counter and asked about the status of my order, the young lady noticed that she "gave the wrong order out to someone else again" as she put it. (I can only assume she has done this multiple times since her coworkers gave a slight chuckle when they heard this) After this epiphany, she asked me for the order again to remake the bagels. This time I waited at the counter, just to make sure my breakfast wouldn't walk away without me. As I waited there I kindly reminded the young lady to toast and bagels and asked that the taylor ham be well done. (In the end, the taylor ham was not well done) After receiving my bagels, we sat down to eat them at BBB. Halfway through our bagels we noticed a gentleman walk back in with a brown bag and a slightly annoyed look on his face, I can only assume that he either does not like bacon or taylor ham. It's difficult to give this place an accurate rating because they are one of the best bagel shops in this part of Bloomfield, but their service is so poor that you'd want to go to an inferior place. I made an order for delivery to my office for lunch and it was all wrong. I ordered three quesadillas and a ham salami and cheese. They made one quesadilla right and the other with egg and another on a bagel with egg. I didn't even how this was possible because I've never heard of a quesadilla being made on a bagel. The delivery guy got nasty with me when it was his fault since he took the order. I then called the restaurant to make a complaint and I was told next time don't make an order with the delivery guy ask for so and so. The food took and 1 hour and 20 minutes to deliver and when made the complaint the man on the phone said I would still wait because they had a lot of orders. I live in West Orange and I drive every Saturday to bloomfield just to get his bagels! Out of this world bagels. The place is clean and neat. This place is mobbed on weekend with lines to the door! As I read through some of the reviews of this bagel and deli place, I was wondering what some of these Yelp users were talking about. After driving through Bloomfield and needing some breakfast in a hurry, I decided to give this place a try. As always I checked on Yelp first. I was kind of apprehensive, at first, as to what the place was going to be but when I entered I was pleasantly surprised. They have a few tables to sit in and enjoy you breakfast. The place is very clean. This puts other deli's and bagel shops to shame with how well they keep everything neat. Perhaps because of their recent renovations that place looks modern enough. Their coffee station is organized and what a surprise they have Starbucks coffee! I laughed at the thought of a Starbucks coffee in a bagel store. It's like seeing Fendi bags in Walmart. I ordered an egg and turkey sausage omelet with cheddar cheese and whole wheat toast on the side. The omelet was cooked properly. The flavors were not extraordinary but very delicious nonetheless. I also took home half a dozen bagels and was satisfied with the flavors. Overall BBB is a nice place to have a satisfying breakfast. read more

This place is a dump!!! I have been there twice. The first time I went, there were flies all over the place. I decided to go again about a year later and as I walked to the counter one of the workers sneezed into his hand, the hand that had the plastic glove on, the hand intended to use to grab and dress the bagels or other food accordingly. I then watched him walk a bag of food to a table. He came back then asked what could he do for me I wanted a simple cinn raison bagel untoasted with cream cheese. I assumed at this point he would change his glove because he just sneezed in it. He didnt and grabbed a fresh bagel i told to change the glove nd that I just saw him sneeze in it. He apologized and changed gloves and got another bagel & dressed it with the cream cheese. He never took the bagel out the pile that he had already grabbed with his freshly sneezed hand. So basically the guy that owns this place is ELI, he actually lives up the street from Bloomfield's Best Bagels. He's very generous and I have known him for a long time. Be his friend and hey may throw you a few extra things in your bag or charge you a little less for what you should pay. His bagels are better than most because they are much larger in size that other bagel places. Furthermore some days of the week he gets personally involved and rolls the bagels himself. Since I recently moved to Bloomfield about a year ago, I have been searching for a good bagel place. I have ordered from this place consistently for the past couple of months, and the last couple of times have been sub-par. First off, they should be ashamed to call themselves a New Jersey bagel place. Their bagels are not at all like an NJ bagel. They're pretty much like the bagels I had to tolerate in Tampa when I was in college. They're thin with no substance. They also should be ashamed to call their 'everything' bagel an EVERYTHING bagel. The only seasoning that is discernible is the poppy seeds. Their sandwiches come with almost no meat on them, besides the 'Pottz' sandwich. If there's one thing I can give them, that sandwich is delicious. Ordered delivery today, and got a sandwich I was not happy with in the slightest. I called to complain that there was nothing on the sandwich (I ordered the Cuban panini on a bagel which I have done before and it was delicious. This one came with no cheese, no mustard, and no ham.) and the girl who answered the phone said she watched him make the sandwich and that's impossible. Are you for real?! Then I asked her what she can do about it and she offered to have another one delivered, which the delivery already took 45 minutes so at this point I was starving so I said no thanks. I'll never order from them again, that's all. I will just deal with driving to either Sam's Bagels in Wayne or G&A in Butler if I want a real bagel. read more
