I was really excited to go to this place and had been waiting for their opening for months. Finally we made it last night (they are only open for dinner). Th hostess our server were very nice & friendly. The service was fast, the food & dessert was great And we could barely hear each other. We were a party of five & the whole time we had to lean next to each other's ear or halfway over the table to hear the person talking. None of us are hearing impaired. it's a tiny place , completely full of tables, right next to each other.The background noise is really loud. If carrying the dinner conversation is important, perhaps sitting outside would be much better. read more

I really wanted to give this 5 stars. The restaurant is beautifully decorated with a nice ambience. The masa cake and the poke bowl were excellent, as were our "cocktails" (no hard alcohol) which were creative, refreshing, and beautifully presented. The presentation of the food was really nice too. The lemon chips were underwhelming to us and we didn't finish them. The only reason I am not giving this five stars, however, is because our server was terrible. The server had a terrible attitude and absolutely no enthusiasm. And they only had one item on the dessert menu which was a little disappointing. read more

Definitely worth a try for those who don't think vegan can be tasty. Enjoyed the "crab cakes" which were wonderful. If you tried them without knowing what they were you would say they tasted sort of like crab cakes but different in a an equally satisfying way. Same for the lettuce wraps. The buccotini pasta was a little over seasoned so would not recommend. Cocktails and desserts were also excellent. I was excited to explore another vegan restaurant in the East Bay and arrived on time for our reservation. We had to wait in the cold for 15 minutes until our table was ready, but this was a minor inconvenience given the limited space inside. The décor inside is lovely, and the place toasty. The serving sizes are hefty, but everything we ate was on the sweet side. The fritters were delightful as starters. The bread plate, resembling an entrée in size, had an impressive blue cheese, but the seed bread had a rogue rancid seed that ruined the entire dish. And yup, the dish came with sweet syrup. I opted for masa cake as my main. Sweet. Fungi sando - also sweet, topped with sweet jam/relish. Spaghetti? You guessed it - sweet. We were swimming in so much sweetness, we passed on dessert. We thoroughly enjoyed this absolutely gorgeous and artsy vegan restaurant that promises an "Eat Local" culinary adventure! We were greeted by fun and friendly servers and started with a wide array of vegan wines and freshly made fruity mock tails on their hipster outdoor patio. We started with the crudités, the smokey mac and cheese and the crispy beet salad. Everyone agreed we will come back for all of these scrumptious favorites! After enjoying the appetizers, we decided to eat family style so we could try a variety of entrees. The masa cake is a local favorite to die for! The fungi sando sandwich with potato salad was crispy and savory and my absolute favorite! The gnocchi and bucatini were flavorful, mouthwatering and satisfying! We closed out the evening with lattes, lemon chia seed pudding and cookies. All vegan in Danville! Highly recommend you give this fledgling spot a try. The B&R burger was one of the better vegan burgers I've had, fully crafted in house. I want to love this restaurant, the ambiance is good, service is friendly, drinks and deserts are great. We ordered two pasta dishes and a salad to share. The salad was presented in a very unattractive way, the radicchio was all different sizes, and the beautiful seasonal peaches were buried in bread crumbs and lacking flavor. The bucatini puttanesca arrived with the pasta all stuck together, gummy and extremely overcooked. The capers were burnt and crispy like the dish has been sitting under a heart lamp for to long. The other pasta dish was kale radiatorre, it came like a chowder. The pasta was cooked beyond recognition and swimming in sauce. The highlight of the meal was the peach galette, nicely baked, deliciously seasoned and arriving with a scope if maple almond ice cream. We were met with a young girl whose job was to seat us only to roll her eyes when she realized she had to work again and literally told her family she was talking to "ughhh I have to work again." We came with my newborn husband and 5 year old were very excited to try the new restaurant that replaced the restaurant we loved. My daughter was very excited. I just had a baby and finally had an appetite again. The food was ok I was hoping for more flavor, portion size was really small, we had the feeling that we were being rushed as we were eating because the waitress kept taking our plates or asking if we were done as we were actively eating, we had really bad stomach pains throughout the night until the next day. read more

My husband and I had dinner at Blossom and Root last Friday night. We are not vegans, or vegetarians, however we wanted to try out this restaurant after reading the rave reviews. It did not disappoint! The food was amazing!! For starters, we had the "crab cakes" and toasted sourdough with herbed butter and cumquat jam, and a side of their "blue cheese." Now, this was vegan blue cheese and I'm not a huge blue cheese fan, but I liked it better than the real cheese! It had a strong flavor but no aftertaste which I loved! We then had the vegetable curry and tofu bowl for our entrees- the portions were large and you can share! Everything was fresh and delicious with amazing flavor! We also had the berry crisp for dessert and it was a perfect mix of sweet and tart. We were able to sit outside and the ambience was so pretty and peaceful. I also have to shout out that our server, Samantha was so helpful and amazing about pointing out some of her favorites and recommendations! We can't wait to go back! Even if you are a "meat eater," you should definitely try this place as my husband and I were completely fulfilled! The only downside is that the restaurant closed at 8 PM on a Friday night?!! We wanted to stay longer and have an after dinner drink, so I'm hoping that they stay open until at least 9pm on the weekends going forward! read more

I have to admit that when I heard there was a gourmet Plant Based restaurant opening in Danville I was hopeful but also slightly poised for a disappointing experience. Last night my wife and I had the opportunity to have dinner and I could not have been more pleasantly surprised. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, the manager and owner were present and gracious to all of the diners and the food was outstanding. We had the lemon chips, strawberry salad, cucumber salad, masa cake and the veggie pasta. Every dish was perfectly cooked and seasoned. Portions are generous and served at just the right times between courses. If you want to experience true gourmet plant based dining you need to try this place.
