Indoor couch and chair seating with large window.

If you're looking for a new drink spot in the San Fernando Valley, BLTea is absolutely worth a try. Their menu is incredibly diverse and often shifts with the seasons. Unless you're ordering one of their staple beverages, don't get too attached to your drink of choice, as it may be gone sooner than you think! The Mango Sticky Rice is my personal favorite, but it's only around for the spring and summer. Get it while you can! Many boba shops in the San Fernando Valley adopt a function-over-form mindset, and aren't any fun to sit in. Even though BLTea is located in a smaller unit compared to its neighbors, they've really nailed the aesthetics and maximized their seating for their customers. It's a comfortable spot to relax in. My only point of contention is their service. I have found that interacting with some of their staff has been... difficult. When I am the sole member of my party, a few of their all-female front-of-house are quite curt and unwelcoming. However, when I'm with my female friends, they get treated with absolute kindness and professionalism (even during the same order). I really enjoy coming to BLTea for their drinks, but I often leave with a sour taste in my mouth because of this seemingly discriminate behavior. This is simply a personal experience I thought worth sharing for my fellow men, and does not apply to all of their staff. Truly a tough three star to give, as it has absolutely nothing to do with their excellent product. Regardless, BLTea is a solid choice for your next specialty drink fix, and I hope your service experience is better than mine! Picture courtesy of corner.inc online gallery.

Mango/pandan sticky rice mochi blew

EXCUSE YOUR FINEST PARDON?! The mango/pandan sticky rice mochi blew my mind. I literally came here bc I saw the product on my tic tok feed when I was, of course looking up ube places near me (I need my fix of ube every now and then) I ordered the Mango coco seasonal drink too and that was great! Not too sweet. It's located in a plaza right next to the gas station and I found parking right in front. The atmosphere is cute and cozy w plants. Service is friendly. They offered to cut my mochi.

Banana Pudding Latte

I'm on the hunt for the best banana latte in the city. This one was somewhere in the middle, the coffee was great but there could have been more banana flavor. I still really enjoyed the drink, and the staff was great!

I stopped by this tea place to get my wife a drink since I was already in the plaza this store is in for a Yelp event next door. I found parking just fine but parking can be hard to find depending on when you come. When I walked inside, all the workers greeted me. I look at their menu and called my wife. She said the passionade and fruit tea looked good but I should ask which one they recommend. The lady working the cashier recommend the passionade so I got a large one and asked for light ice. The place isn't that big inside. They made my order quick and I went to the other side to pick it up. I took it home and my wife loved her drink. It wasn't too sweet or plain and they put light ice like I asked.

Food: 4/5 Service: 4/5 Ambiance: 4/5 Pretty decent boba shop near my house. I got boba milk tea and it was classic, I saw a lot of customers in line and also people hanging out inside. Seems like they are known for their matcha drinks. I will have to come back here and try more of their drinks.

Banana Pudding Latte Vietnamese Coffee

Cute place, nice staff but I would go elsewhere for specialty coffee; it was very sweet w/o the coffee flavor. Great flavor on the banana latte but it's more of a dessert rather than a coffee & the Vietnamese coffee didn't have that bold coffee taste that it should; didn't even finish my drink because of how underwhelming it was.. Maybe their boba drinks are good but I would not come here for coffee.

Mango coconut slush drink with boba

I've been twice to this spot in the valley. The spot is in a small parking plaza with ample parking. Overall, BLTea is more of a social spot versus a working spot, but we were able to chill there for a few hours on our laptops. The first visit, I tried their mango coconut drink (actually not sure if they still have it) and an Oreo cookie (not pictured). Both items were solid! During this second visit I tried the banana cream matcha with oat milk and the cream cheese Oreo milk tea. Drinks are solid, and I'm particularly impressed with the matcha. Matcha lovers know boba-centered spots don't particularly have the best matcha, as their focus is on overall drinks. But the matcha here is earthy, not bitter, and meshes well with the fun toppings. Don't expect the best matcha of your life or expect a matcha like those in Koreatown, but it's solid. This second visit, I believe we snagged the only outlet behind the plants and non-working self-service kiosk, so keep that in mind. Service is good but it can get busy and I saw some other folks waiting a while. They also have a stamp card! Overall, great spot in the valley and will definitely be back!

4.5 stars Drinks are easily 5-star worthy--super delicious, vibrant, and smooth. I'd definitely return when I'm in the area. Great variety, and they offer vegan/non-dairy milk, which is a plus. Be prepared to wait if it's busy. The place gets packed, and with limited seating, the stand-and-wait time can be long, which is where the .5 star deduction comes in. Staff was busy but still friendly, with minimal interaction.

Carrot Cake Latte

I've been to BLTea a couple of times and have always had a pleasant experience. Service is great and staff is friendly and attentive. It can get busy so sometimes drinks take a little longer to come out, but the quality is still there! I really love the seasonal drinks they offer, like the carrot cake latte. There is some room to sit and study or catch up with friends, and it's very nicely decorated. Will definitely keep coming back to try all the different drinks!

Came here after brunch because I needed something cold and refreshing. This spot has tons of drinks to choose from, so it's hard not to find something you'll like. I grabbed the Crème Brûlée drink and a Vietnamese coffee. The Crème Brûlée was good smooth, sweet, and really hit the spot. The Vietnamese coffee was good too, but not as strong as I expected...tasted more like a powdered mix, kinda like Korean instant coffee. Still, overall this place is solid. Good vibes, good options, and perfect for a quick drink run

I found BLTea accidentally, I guess you can say. I was on my way to get coffee but the spot I was going to was closed. Undeterred, I went on Yelp to search for a nearby coffee place and one of the results was BLTea. So I quickly looked through their Yelp page to see what they had before driving over. When I got there the girl at the counter was incredibly friendly. She helped me decide on my Pistachio coffee with Espresso with the matcha cake. She also helped me decide that the next time I visit and there will be a next time I am going with a matcha drink and ube cheese Wait, I have gotten ahead of myself. My coffee had a great flavor and my dessert was incredibly moist; delicious! I am looking forward to going back!!

Snowy peaches and pumpkin earl grey
Austin K.

Tried more things: - the snowy peaches: made with actual peaches and blended together. Not very sweet, and perhaps I should have gotten it during peach season. It has caffeine from the jasmine tea - pumpkin earl grey: a nice blend and you certainly get both flavors - earl grey salted egg cookie: I liked the egg better as part of the milky moon. You can't combine rewards cards, so don't forget to bring them. Also, the strawberry milk has jam, not fresh strawberries, just to know.

Strawberry dubai mochi cookie
Nicole O.

I was on the hunt for a quick bite and coffee. I came across this little gem. I originally wanted something savory but upon entering I noticed they had a Dubai mochi cookie. I ordered that and a Vietnamese coffee. They were both delicious and I returned 4 times within 2 weeks to grab the Dubai mochi cookie. The service was fast and friendly. They offered to cut the mochi cookie for me. It was clean and quite cute inside. I can't wait to go back to try other drinks. I'm sad that they will no longer offer the Dubai mochi delight!

Ask the Community - BLTea

Is it dog friendly?

They don't have outdoor seating

Do they have outlets?

No outlets available

Is this a good place to do work for a couple hours, or is it not geared for that?

Yes it's really nice. When I visited it was calm and they have some outdoor tables as well as indoor seating. I could totally see myself working there for a few hours.

Do they have any caffeine free options other than just the straight berry tea? I love boba style drinks but am highly allergic to caffeine and I feel like I'm missing out per lots of boba and milk tea loving friends. Help?

Thanks for asking. Our non caffeinated drinks are berry tea, black sugar boba milk, strawberry milk, ube, signature brush stroke, and kumquat koko. Hope this answering your question

The strawberry matcha einspanner was also yummy and had a great presentation The space is pretty small but there are a few seats available. Upon entering the place is clean, sleek, and modern. We were greeted right away. I already knew I was leaving with 2 drinks for the drive back home. I ordered: 1. Cold brew vanilla: Delicious, I love that tou can see the vanilla cream on top. This was definitely what I needed to wake me up. 2. Matcha einspener: I tasted this and immediately loved it when leaving the store. I saved it for last. It was so light and refreshing. I could easily drink it all day if they had a bigger size lol. I was hoping to try the seasonal mango cream matcha, but sadly it was gone. 3. Pastries: I wanted to try the sampler but I don't thinking they had it yet. I tried one of the cinnamon pastries. It was soft and very cinnamony. Overall, it was a great experience and I'll be back soon.

Here's a helpful tip: The bank next door allows 10 minutes of parking if you use their ATM and keep your receipt. There is security in the lot, so be sure to have your receipt as proof of the time. It's more than enough time to run next door and grab your treats. I ordered a slice of the lemon loaf, a gluten-free cookie, and the classic chocolate chip cookie. The lemon loaf slice is huge, I'd say it's the equivalent of two slices, so it's definitely big enough to share. As for the cookies, Levain is known for making them thick and rich. A small piece goes a long way, making them perfect for savoring over a couple of days (if you have that much self-control!). The moment you walk inside, you're greeted by the incredible aroma of freshly baked pastries, and the service was warm and welcoming. I truly think everyone should experience a Levain cookie or pastry at least once. It's worth the visit!

But let me tell you... the oatmeal cookie is on another level. It's rich, buttery, and packed with so much aroma. The chocolate chip cookie was rich and crispy. Pro tip: microwave it for at least 30 seconds. It completely transforms the cookie--warm, melty, and almost like it just came fresh out of the oven. The oats were warm and satisfying. Definitely one of the best cookies I've had in LA. Worth the hype!

We've seen all the viral fruit pastries online, and were so excited to try them. When we got in, we were able to see all of the options on display and they had a big menu telling you exactly what was in each one. You order off of a kiosk, which makes it incredibly easy to order. Almost all of our pastries were ready before we had even left the kiosk, which was great! I went with the mango and the peach, both of which were fantastic! The shortbread cookie underneath both was delicious, the mango mousse and filling tasted so fresh and amazing. The peach had an Earl Grey cream and fresh peach chunks as well. Both were in the classic white chocolate shell. These are so cute, fun to eat, very refreshing, and not overly sweet. The shop itself is adorable, plenty of seating, great decor and the staff was super friendly and very nice! These fruit pastries have absolutely gone viral, and there's many shops that do them, but Tu Cha is hands-down, the best!

The peach shaped and was forgettable Pros: - The cakes are very very cute and amazing to look at - Shop inside had a few tables. It seemed like most were just couples or a few friends sharing - Kiosk ordering do no need for human interaction if you don't want it Cons: - I really hated that the flavors did not match up to the cake shapes. I think I liked the lemon shaped one the best because it has the most citrusy passionfruit flavor. But when I break into the mango shaped cake, I expect a strong mango flavor. If the flavors were not going to match, I would've much rather like it if the cakes were in different shapes like a cute cartoonish animal, or smiley face, or a daisy. Some shape that I wouldn't associate with flavor - I also wasn't a huge fan of the flavor combos. I feel like they were really trying to go out there but often times the fruit flavors used didn't really match up with the tea or nut flavors. The flavors were not balanced at all, often just very muddled with one flavor either being too strong or not strong enough, or interfering with a fruits flavor. Some of the cakes were floral tasting from tea or almost slightly savory. The cakes are not sweet at all. Maybe I was just unlucky and tried the worst flavors. Again the lemon shaped one was the best because passionfruit flavor was sharp enough to cut through the other flavors - Parking is street and can be hit or miss - Expensive - I ordered a drink and I don't see it on the menu, or I just can't remember it. That's how different it was. I do remember thinking it was so sweet Would I go again? Absolutely not
