This place needs to step up service or staffing in a big way. Arrived at 9PM on a Monday. Posted hours are 12:00PM-12:00AM. Lights out and closed. Came back today (Tuesday) at 7:30PM to a packed house. After arriving we were told to go ahead and sit anywhere. We did and then we were forgotten for 15 minutes. Brought menus and forgotten for another 15 minutes. Once remembered we placed entree and drink orders simultaneously to avoid further delay. Server returns to tell us they don't have any tea or lemonade or diet soda of any kind, but they do have water. Great, we'll take that. Entrees came out 15 minutes apart (see a pattern?). Asked for a to go box, was brought one but server ran away before I could request the check. Asked for the check, got the check, card was run and everything returned. Without a pen to sign anything. The brisket tacos are actually really good, just wish they would get their act together on the service side. read more

I always visit the Glenwood location. Each time the food is consistently good. The drinks are even better!! My only issue is their phones never work when trying to call in a pick up order. I wish they had online ordering. Also the place is small so if you want to dine in get there early. Don't recommend for large groups. read more

So this place is interesting. They are VERY serious about their hookah and hardcore hiphop music, which could be a turnoff due to the smoke and lyrics. But the waitstaff was surprisingly attentive/friendly and the food wasn't bad. This place has some great daily specials. Went on a Thursday night where all apps (including the appetizer sampler) were half off AND they had buy 1 get 1 free 32oz margaritas! The drinks were huge and way better than you'd expect for a deal like that - not watered down at all and each one made fresh by the bartender. All of the apps we had were great: the egg rolls, the empanadas, and the WINGS ! Their fusion flavors were fantastic, had the peach bourbon and can't reccomended it enough. The tacos however were real basic l, even the more expensive "twisted" selections. Not a lot of flavor or substance. Same with the salsa, not bad, but not anything special. Lastly, the service was terrible (but not for lack of the staff trying). The restaurant was chaotic and the setup disorganized, we sat at a table staff directed us to, but sat for nearly 10min with other tables being greeted and orders taken with no one acknowledging us. We moved to the bar in hopes of service, but unfortunately the bartender was so backed up with no help it took another 10 min or so to where we almost left. BUT, my mood completely changed once we had drinks and food, which is why this review is 3 stars. The first time I had Blu Cantina's food, it was through Uber Eats. The delivery was slow and it wasn't because of the delivery driver. When my food arrived, they shorted me a taco so I only had one taco with a measly amount of salad on the side and I was charged full price. When I called to ask for a refund, I got put on hold until they hung up on me. I called again and they just took my number for the manager to call me back but that fell through. This was before they moved to the Glenwood location. When they moved, my husband gave them the benefit of a doubt. He mentioned how they were slow but wasn't about making a big deal about it. We gave them a (regretful) third try. Again, very slow even though the place was practically empty, and the food was still bland. Where is the salt?? Went to Blu Cantina on a Saturday night. That night they had a $20 special which included a pitcher of house margarita or long island iced tea and 15 piece wing. The price was good. This night is great for the social crowd. They had a dj and hookah available. Also ordered a $30 hookah, which was worth the $30. I definitely will be back. read more

What a complete joke. I'm not the one to leave yelp reviews but this was just sad. $12 for two frozen waffles and 6 chicken wings? What a complete rip off. About 5 mins later a server comes up and takes our drink orders, when she's done she says I'm not your server I'm just going to take your order until she gets here... we ordered drinks and appetizers and by 5:30 neither had arrived. I tried calling in an order. I was put on hold for a while before being disconnected. I wasn't able to reach them again so I texted my friend who was there and asked him to order for me and he did. I greeted my friend and others who were at the bar quickly before going to the pickup counter. The bar was packed!!! Not one person at the bar was wearing a mask or socially distanced. I waited over 10 minutes looking at my food get cold while employee after employee walked past me without acknowledging me or asking if I'd been helped. Finally the bartender asked if I'd been helped. I told him no. He responded that he was busy working door dash and walked away. He began serving drinks at the bar again. Eventually one employee told another to assist me and she checked me out. Everyone acted as if It wasn't their responsibility to assist me. My friend got two shrimp tacos & one ground Turkey taco with rice. We both also got a patron margarita & one $2 shot. The food was okay but not the best. The steak was seasoned great but literally only had steak on it so I took some of my cheese & lettuce from my chicken taco & added it on there. The chicken taco was also pretty good, it did have a little kick to it but it wasn't bad at all. The shrimp taco wasn't that good. The shrimp had the same seasoning as the chicken so was also a little spice. It came with a mango slaw on & it I really love a good slaw on my tacos so was excited to try it. However, I was a little disappointed when I tasted this because it didn't really taste like a slaw. I also expected to get a cool refreshing taste hearing mango slaw but it didn't really taste like a mango slaw. Then at the end my friend asked for one more shot but our waitress poured two. When she brought them we said "oh she only asked for one" & the waitress offered to take it off the tab but I still paid because she told us to keep it. The soft shells managed to be stale and slimey at the same time. The meat was so wet when you bit into them water just gushed out. Good amount of meat but not much else just a small sprinkle of chopped tomato and squeeze of sour cream. Desperatly needs some sort of salsa or slaw or something to liven it up. This was my first time coming back to Blu since their move from Peters Street. I loved the space. We came a bit late due to leaving another place that didn't have exactly what we were looking for. I had the chicken empanadas and my boyfriend had the sampler. Those egg rolls are SO GOOD! the empanadas are not what I'm used to as far as the stuffing. I kept thinking the sauce was spicy but I think now it was the peppers in the empanada. I will say the Taco Tuesday deal is great! As long as you get there BEFORE 9pm and they only have chicken and ground turkey tacos for that special. I will be returning so I can try out the tacos. The peach bourbon wings must have been fabulous because he finished ALL of them. I tried the sauce and was surprised that I actually fancied it a bit. Spicy but sweet and tangy. Bartender Bre OMG is AWESOME with the customers. Bartender Paris do not need to be in that position if all she wants to do is smoke the customers Hookahs; she needs to be the Hookah person. Not that good at making drinks anyway. There are so many great reviews on Yelp and that surprises me because I wasn't even treated like a human today (5/4/23). I ordered food online to go. I arrived about 5 minutes after the pickup time. I asked a waitress who was walking the restaurant where I could pick up a to go order. She directed me to the end of the bar, so that's where I went. I stpod there for 10 - 15 minutes waiting to be acknowledged. No one said anything. The female behind the bar eventually said to the original waitress that I asked where I could pick up an order to "can you find out what he wants?". They were standing about 3 feet from me. The waitress behind the bar was consistently that close to me. She never spoke to me. She never said someone would be with me. She never said anything to me other than to ask someone else to speak to me. The waitress asked me what the name was. I told her. She went to the back and brought back a bag (that I realized had food I did not order AFTER I got home). I asked of the femlae behind the bar couldn't be bothered. She said "she's busy", but she was having casual concerns with the people sitting at the bar. I honestly have not felt so dismissed and ignored by a business in a long time....maybe ever. I will not be returning to Blu Cantina... the service at this establishment was disappointing. I came to Blu Cantina for my birthday and invited a group of 10-12 people. The manager was not willing to accommodate any of our request. We asked the manager if we could join two tables together to create one large table for all my guest to sit at. The manager listened to our request and passive aggressively told the waiter to tell us no. The waiter never checked on our table, we had empty glasses and at one point had to walk to the bar to get napkins and condiments. Once we finished eating and paid, we were told that the table has a 90min time limit and that we need to move. We moved to the bar and waiting for service for over 30 mins. I tired to speak to the manager about my concerns and she told me if I was unhappy, I could leave. She began to argue about MY experience. I told her I refuse to argue and walked away, where she followed me out of the restaurant, continuously stating "So what's your problem". Understanding I am the customer (paying customer) and my experience should be a priority, it was disappointing to receive such service. Overall, I would not being coming back. This may be a great place to eat but not a place to receive quality service. read more
