$26 is a lot for appetizers.

I tried Viet Kitchen and honestly... it was a NOPE for me. I stopped by while I was in the area grabbing water from ALDI and decided to pick up a quick appetizer before going home to cooking dinner. I ordered the shrimp rolls and the egg rolls (the combo with shrimp, pork, and other fillings). I will say the service was fast and friendly and the place itself looked super cute. I got everything to-go. But the food (and quality) was a SUPER MISS for me. The shrimp in the shrimp rolls tasted really low qualitY almost mushy. I even took multiple bites just to make sure I wasn't tripping. The egg rolls were okay. Long story short, I didn't finish any of it. Within about 3-4 hours, I started feeling sick and it completely turned me off from even making dinner. I know this spot seems popular, but my experience was not the best. Maybe it's just a difference in taste, but for me, I should've trusted my gut. I'm usually a sucker for shrimp rolls, but this time lesson learned. Do with that what you will, stay safe y'all. :)

P2: Oxtail Pho (Postmates order; beef broth, rice noodle, oxtail cut)

It was really cold day and my wife and daughter were feeling under the weather. What better meal than a hot soup, specifically a pho when you're sick? We ordered via Postmates and they packaged everything perfectly. We ordered the Oxtail Pho and Pho Viet Kitchen. Both phos had the meats and veggies in a separate bowl and soup/broth in another container. It was great! No soggy noodles or overcooked meats here! The meats were soft and tender, the broth was so comforting and full of flavor. Simply delicious and still hot! We also ordered the Banh Mi Viet Kitchen to save for dinner and it too was good! Bread was crispy and fresh - just a great sandwich all around! The jalapeños this time were spicy and gave it the right amount of kick that I love. We'll have to visit their store physically when we're all better. We can't wait to sit down and eat here as a family.

I ordered pho from Viet Kitchen after doing some research on good pho in the Van Nuys area on Reddit, and a lot of people recommended Viet Kitchen! I'm really picky about pho and lowkey obsessed with pho, so I will say I have high expectations. I was feeling pretty sick, and Viet Kitchen's oxtail pho hit the spot. The broth isn't the best I've ever tried, but it was packaged well and came quickly. I loved the oxtail - it literally fell off the bone and was really satiating on an empty stomach. If you like Viet coffee, theirs is SO strong but so delicious. I actually had to add milk because of how strong it was, but that's how you know it's doing its job!

My wife loves Banh Mi sandwiches so I jumped in the car and off to Panorama City to grab lunch for my her. She wanted the Viet Kitchen Banh Mi, a Vietnamese version of a Poor Boy She liked the ratio of vegetables to meat. My wife isn't a big meat eater so she liked that the sandwich had more vegetables than meat. The bun was soft and chewy, the right size sandwich. The service is quick and the sandwich was freshly made. This will be our go to Banh Mi restaurant. I plan to try some of the other food during the next visit.

Just delicious. Service was very friendly and food was ready very quick. Grilled Chicken Bánh Mì was so good, actually went back the next day for another. Ordered the Pho Viet Kitchen which was (Eye round, brisket, blank, tripe and tendon) and the oxtail pho. Broth was very flavorful and generous with noodles. Deep fried egg rolls comes with 4 were super crispy. Restaurant has only a few tables inside but we ordered to go.

Great tasting food and drinks! Customer service was amazing and very welcoming. The ambiance is very nice and simple. Only issue I have is parking can be hard sometimes.

Staff is always so nice and friendly!! Been here a million times always order take out. They recently quickly remedied a missing lemongrass beef and were super kind and efficient. They made it right very quickly. On top of that food is always worth it big portions and delicious! Couldn't recommend this place more. Will keep coming here and telling people about it truly a gem of panorama cu

First time customers. Place is clean with friendly service. The items we ordered are comparable to other Vietnamese restaurants we have been to. Don't mind going back if in the area again.

Great customer service. Food also came out fast. Restaurant is small and cozy. Parking lot is small but we went on a weekday around 4pm and found parking with no issues. Food was good. Grilled meats was well done, my only comment is that it seemed like there was a tad bit too much sugar marinated in the meats for my liking.

Right off the bat, I peeped the reviews to see if they were good and I noticed, a lot of the issues were with the service but nothing about the food being bad, so it was a go! Once we arrived we were instantly seated and they were quick and attentive! The lady took our order, while the other lady was pushing carts with huge pho bowls on them. I'm not going to lie, the bowls were looking amazing! The place was pretty busy and clean. The vibe was cool and everyone was either in a group or with their significant other, so I was digging the vibe. I went with the teriyaki chicken plate, while one of my boys got the bulgolgi plate and the other got a bowl of pho. I thought my chicken teriyaki was amazing but I did have a bite of my boys bulgolgi and it was not the hit and I LOVE bulgolgi. I def won't be ordering it there. Anyway, I would go back for some late night eats and I would 100% get the teriyaki chicken again. It was very good! OOOC 3.5 out of 5 Afros

I got the Super Bowl pho which basically has a lot of beef and pork and seafood. Cost around 20 and I got me a side of egg rolls. The service personally wasn't the greatest and that's why I gave it a 2 star. There were only 2 lady workers running the show for 18 tables I think I counted. Which had a Hispanic male in the back and I was like this is not authentic pho. I was cold and I asked if I could not sit by the door and she told me no. They took forever to bring utensils and napkins. The ambiance was casual and okay. At the end when I was almost finished with my pho I notice two Asian men came in and the lady knew them but gave them a huge table and they did not order food or anything which I was like damn that sucks. I'm cold sitting next to the door and they walked in and got a nice sitting. And I knew if I brought CAREMAL kisses she would have not liked the meat it was chewy and the texture was a bit weird. And this is coming from me so I know she had a part that she left on me to be detailed about the taste and texture because I wouldn't have said anything before meeting her. I would come again just to see if I get the same experience but I hope I don't and I would come back. It's the light skin dragon coming to you with a review that is honest and am looking to coming back to see if I get treated the same way.

Upon entry there is a takeout area where you can order hot meat dishes and to go menu or dine in. We got complimentary hot tea when seated. The interior is a bit dated compared with other restaurants of this type but the food was delicious. We got duck and preserved egg porridge, scrambled egg with shrimp, and a two bbq combo plate of char siu and roast pork. The porridge came out fast and delicious! We ate with the chili and white paper available at the table. Next came the scrambled egg and shrimp. We actually ordered the version with rice, not the entree so the servers got us some rice but missing the gravy. Lastly came the bbq combo plate. We thought it would arrive first since the meats were all ready to go in the takeout area. It came with some hoisin sauce. The char siu was tasty. The roast pork however was not as crispy and kinda mealy so the sauce helped.

I got off a 7-day trip from Seattle and was craving roasted duck. I thought I was going to just grab-n-go on this trip but decided to grab lunch with the fam. We kept it simple with 3 main dishes. The watercress stirfried with garlic is always a staple at every Chinese restaurant meal. Their porkchops here was neither greasy or salty. It had the right amount of seasoning and crunch. Also got the beef chowfun. When ordering, the waiter will always ask whether you want dry or with gravy. I almost always prefer the dry variation. There was plenty food for 3 people and still had leftovers to take home. Not pictured here is the whole roasted duck I purchased or the glistening array of duck and other barbecued meats they sell for to go.

I love the crispy edges of kai jiew, really can't get enough of it. This place has two kinds though: thai omelette (which looks like a common omelette but with ground meat inside and a brown sauce), and scrambled eggs (which looks like the 'thai omelette' that i've known from other thai places). Kai jiew / kai jeaw / khai jiao / kai jiaw (scrambled eggs) -- if you like those fluffy, crispy fried eggs that are mostly called thai omelette at other places, this is the one you want. They're not as crispy, but still fluffy and full of flavor. They're a bit pricey though, which i find a little weird since this is normally one of the cheapest dishes at most thai places. Thai omelette -- this egg dish is one i've only seen at this place. It's more like egg foo young than the thai omelette that i know. Still flavorful though. Crab fried rice -- one of the best! It might not be as full of crab aroma, but this is the only place where i found a balance in fried rice as both an entree and a side dish. Usually fried rice is either flavorful enough to be an entree, or slightly bland and best as a side. But Khun Dang's is the perfect middle ground: flavorful enough as an entree, but not so strong that it overpowers your main dish if you decide to eat it as a side. Chicken fried wonton -- nicely crispy, such a joy to bite into! Thai ice tea -- not bad, pretty okay. Not too sweet, and not the "packaged mix" kind. Thai ice coffee -- strong, reminds me of vietnamese coffee (in all the good ways). Service was warm and friendly. Got my order in half an hour, which is pretty good considering they were packed for sunday lunch. The place is nice for hanging out and chatting when it's not packed, but even when it is, the tables aren't arranged too tightly. The price point is a bit on the pricey side, but the quality and portions reflect it.
