My friends and I got a reservation here for our friend's birthday. The reservation made it so easy, and we were sat right as we walked in. All of us got drinks, and all of the ones I tried were super tasty. And they're honestly not as expensive as I almost expected them to be? Pleasant surprise. I got the avocado tacos, one of the several vegetarian options, and it was delicious. The rice was kinda meh, I guess, but overall it was really tasty. This can definitely be a pricier dinner depending on what you order, but it's not bad for what it is, in my opinion. Highly recommend pineapple margarita, although if I could make a suggestion I would recommend they add coconut rum/coconut anything to their bar menu. Delicious brunch on a Sunday morning. I've been here for dinner multiple times. I tried the breakfast omelet with chorizo. The flavors were excellent. Not your ordinary Mexican omelette. This place needs you to drink in order for it to be tolerable. I'm not sure what this place is trying to do but I got six tortilla chips with shrimp/lobster, cheese, etc. placed on them individually. I wish I took a picture (it's on their website though) because it's like they attempted to make a high end nacho plate?! Nachos are nachos... Nonetheless, These 6-8 nachos (8 if they're feeling generous) for $18 are decent. Moving on, the server was not rude but also not friendly or hospitable. I can't explain it super well but the service vibe was very disengaged. The facility ambiance was fine, but then I needed to use the restroom. Here's the part that gets grossly annoying. The restroom is insanely close to the kitchen. IF the bathrooms were clean, this would be something I possibly wouldn't even mention however, the women's restroom was disgusting. There were 3 stalls, One stall was out of service, one stalls toilet was filled with urine and the other was filled with feces. In other words, the restroom had zero stalls available & there was staff seated right outside just hanging out. The bathroom needed tending, just someone go in and flush the toilets, bare minimum, my goodness! It was not that busy, clearly and so, have someone clean/tend to those restrooms! My entree I ended up sending back, there was rice that looked like it's been sitting out for HOURS. Crispy rice, My enchiladas were cold along with everything on my plate, except for the plate... microwaved it, perhaps? All in all, I'm not sure HOW this place is standing at 4 stars. Absolutely not! Again, I didn't try any drinks/alcohol and that seems to be a major misstep because they obviously need you inebriated to pull off the smoke and mirror show. Anywho, learned a $100 lesson. I was unsure about this restaurant because it had reservations available on a Saturday night, but wow! It was incredible. There were so many items on the menu that sounded great that it took us a while to order, but ended up choosing based on on waitress's suggestions. I got the carne asada and it was the best carne asada I've had in Denver so far. The margarita was a little too sweet for me but I generally don't like super sweet drinks, but those with me thought they were okay! It was very clean and well lit in there, but not too bright. We came to Blue Agave Grill as our first meal in Denver while visiting. They had their happy hour menu available at the time and so we ordered a few different types of tacos, guacamole and a margarita. The vegetarian tacos were pretty tasty, with a lot of flavor in the soy protein. These are street tacos though, and in my opinion pretty small for the price, even at happy hour. My husband got the lime chicken and pork tacos - not a fan of the first (not a ton of flavor) and liked the second. I was pretty disappointed with the guacamole - very little for the amount of chips on the side, with no salt whatsoever, no lime, no other flavor detectable. Definitely not worth the price. On top of that, the chips felt like they were pulled out of a bag and tossed in a bowl, completely unsalted and not fresh tasting at all. I did enjoy the margarita, which I got frozen, and the only thing on the menu to me worth the price. Overall nice ambience with cool art which is I guess what you pay for. Maybe good for a one time visit, but not sure I would recommend it to visitors. read more

Worst experience ever. The service was poor at best. First, we ordered drinks, which took at least 15 minutes to arrive & one couple decided to get them at the bar themself. We ordered hot appetizers, which were served cold. We then placed our orders & but they served someone else's order. When we told them it was not what we ordered, they argued that it was. Once the correct order was served, it was cold. We alerted the manager & she reluctantly took them back to be heated up. After the food was heated & reserved, it was still cold, so I spoke to the manager again. She angrily said it was as hot as we could make it & if you dont ask it, talk to the kitchen yourself. She spoke as if she were doing us a favor by letting us dine there. She had a nasty attitude, rude & demeaning. Finally, she accused one of us of being intoxicated, which was totally false. GREAT food! Friend and I were visiting for a few days and ran across Blue Agave. Decided to give their dinner and happy hour a try and we're so glad we did. The food and drinks were great, definitely my favorite restaurant during our trip! Very nice restaurant with indoor seating as well as a small outdoor area that you pass on your way in. The hostesses aren't super friendly, but our waitress was divine! First off, the menu is very, very extensive. There's so many options -- literally something on the menu for everyone, no matter your dietary restrictions or preferences. It was a beautiful day, so we opted for a seat outside. We started with frozen margaritas and Coconut Shrimp. Margaritas were nice and strong, and the coconut shrimp was very flavorful. The Mango Marg was good, but the Swirl was better! The pineapples and sauce that accompanied the Coconut Shrimp, were great additions. I had the Teriyaki Salmon which was also really good, full of flavor, and made perfectly. The Mac and cheese seafood was nice, with the shrimp and lobster to give it a delicious kick. I also enjoyed the jalapeño cornbread, the biggest winner of the meal! Once we landed and headed to our hotel, we got really hungry and decided to checkout Blue Agave Grill for dinner. We manage to walk here from our hotel. It was a nice little walk downtown Denver. With a yelp check in we got a free bowl of cheese dip. It was very delicious abs warm. I decided to order the margarita flight. Which came with 4 different flavors. There was just one flavor that I really like. For the entree I ordered the spicy chicken Fettuccine pasta. It was actually very tasty and wasn't overly seasoned. Since we were celebrating two friends birthdays, the waitress came out with warm dough sugar bread. I forgot what they were, but it was good! Friendly waitress and great atmosphere for dinner. Blue Agave was easily one of my worst dining experiences in recent memory. We came with a group of 8 for our friend's birthday. Our server was not very attentive, and it took a long time to get both our drinks, and entrée. I ordered the yellowfin tuna, which came out essentially raw, and more so than your typical Ahi Tuna, and it was not even described to be that way in the menu. Luckily I eat sushi, but I found it difficult to even cut through the filet. Also, our server kept giving me the wrong margarita, and after the second one, I finally had to say something. After only having barely enough time to have our food and finish our 2 drinks, our server came over and essentially kicked us out, saying saying they had another party arriving. This was shocking considering the place was only half full. Once we got the check, they refused to do anything other than an even split, despite each couple having completely different tabs, and one person was solo and only had 1 drink and didn't even get food, forcing us to put it all on one card and figure it out on our own. To add insult to injury, they had given us 6 bowls of chips spread out across the table that we barely ate, and were charged $3 a bowl, which we didn't even order and were not told there would be a charge. I'd highly recommend NOT giving Blue Agave your business, it's not worth it! read more

Unfortunately, this place ended up being completely horrible. I ordered Uber Eats and spent a lot for my mom and I to have a nice dinner. She wasn't feeling too well, so we decided not to dine in. She ordered the steak, which was overcooked (asked for medium). - the meat was absolutely disgusting. The enchilada that came with it was dry and gross. I will say not all the food was bad- my meal was quite tasty and satisfying. However, the most expensive meal was $42 (steak) and so I decided to call the restaurant to have them reimburse us. The girl that answered the phone was so rude and it actually took me by surprise how unkind and rude she was for no reason. Did she make the meal? No. She treated me like I was trash, and it was completely uncalled for and unpleasant. Because of her attitude alone, I'm leaving this review for the lack of customer service for a meal that was semi-expensive and disappointing. I would like to be reimbursed for my steak. I thought this place would be pretty average, but we honestly loved it! The food was DELICIOUS and the dip looks gross but tasted great. I got the coconut shrimp tacos and I'm already wanting to go back for more, I would highly recommend them. For dinner, my partner had the Adobo Pork Burrito- Braised Pork Shoulder / Cilantro Rice / Habanero Cream / Pork Green Chili / Monterey Jack / Crema / Corn Pico ($15.99). I had the Pork Carnitas- Slow Roasted and Crispy-Fried / Roasted Tomatillo Sauce / Red Onion / Cilantro / Black Beans / Flour Tortillas ($13.99). We had to ask for refills and people were served faster in larger parties that were seated after us. I just don't think anyone really cared.
