I go to Blue Baker a lot for lunch. They've got some pretty good sandwiches and they're reasonably priced. Wood fired pizzas are pretty good too- the chicken pesto is a fave. If you wear lots of blue they'll give you some free food. If you wear all blur and paint yourself blue (for real!) your full meal is free. But is it worth it? You tell me. Don't forget to snag a sugar cookie here when they're supporting a local fundraiser, they do a lot of great community profit shares. read more

Went here yesterday and this may be my new favorite place. The staff was so friendly! Like better than Chick Fil A friendly. I created my own sandwich and it was delicious. They also have samples of fresh made bread and the lemon pound cake was so good we had to take some home. The tables and booths are individually secluded with plugs which makes it perfect for a study place. We went in the late afternoon so not sure how it is around lunch time but I'm eager to try it again. read more

This place is good, do not misunderstand. BUT, this place is really overpriced. I mean almost $10 for a tiny croissant sandwich and mediocre soup from a bag. I know they don't cook it fresh. I guess McAllister's is similarly priced. But the sandwiches are huge. read more

This was my first time at Blue Baker and I ordered The Indigo. The size of the sandwich made it seem like it was from the kid's menu. When I unwrapped my sandwich to eat it, all of the toppings were falling off of the sandwich and it was completely smashed together making the bread very doughy for an "oven baked" sandwich. Very unimpressed with my visit to Blue Baker and will not be returning. Jason's Deli has better quality and quantity of food for the price you pay. read more

I guess I picked the wrong thing to order here, judging by all the positive reviews. I had the Spartichoke sandwich, and it was one of the worst sandwiches I have had in quite a while. The filling was sparse, it was rare to get a bite that had all ingredients. The cheese was razor thin and almost undetectable other than by sight, a very light smear. it also tended to fall apart. The chocolate chip and walnut cookie was great. I guess I need to try a pizza or different sandwich next time, I also had a problem while paying for my order. I gave the guy a $20 bill and enough $1 bills to make my change a multiple of 5 dollars. He said this confused him, and put the $1 bills on top of the register. He then put the $20 bill in the register, gave me the correct change for the $20, and then tried to put the three $1 bills in the register as well. I pointed out I should get those back and he told me I already had my change. I had to walk him through what he did step by step before he begrudgingly gave me my money. read more

I live in South College Station and I used their on line ordering. The food was here in 30 minutes and the Lobster Bisque was still very hot when it arrived. I also got a Tejas Blue sandwich. The sourdough bread was amazing. Can't wait to try one of their pizzas. read more

I was really disappointed by Blue Baker and their service today. They rely upon buzzers. Well, the buzzer for my grilled indigo sandwich never went off and nobody called out for a grilled indigo so I patiently waited there for 20 min for a sandwich that never came. The girl said she didn't know who to find. If you are going to have a business that relies upon buzzers and they fail you should have a protcol in place to get the order to the person in a reasonable amount of time. There was an earlier post about bad buzzers about a year ago and clearly you haven't fixed the issue! My second issue is that I used to love the grilled indigo. The aioli was superb. But they've changed the recipe and/or mixed it with mayo. For people like me who despise mayo, you just destroyed the best sandwich in the world! read more

The food here is just fine. I love the fact that they use simple, fresh ingredients, and that many of their dishes are sort of on the creative side. I do not, however, enjoy eating good food from a combination of disposable paper and lightweight melamine dishes. You'd think the management would have figured out that how food is presented affects how people perceive the quality of that food. Eating a beautiful salad from a tacky plastic plate is anticlimactic and ruins the experience (at least for this Yelper). $4 for a 12 oz latte. At 12 oz you would hope for 2 shots of espresso, but it comes with only one. Enfeebling lattes lead to timid theorems! However when I asked they gave me a second shot gratis. Nice thick foam, plenty warm, good fresh taste. No ceramic cup offered. Boo for that--to me a paper cup means "don't get to comfy." Of course lattes aren't their forte, they are all about the cappuccino chip sugar loaf. read more

I have been going to the original location since it opened. I love this restaurant. The Club Blue is my favorite sandwich. And I really like the chocolate chip cookies and the peanut butter chocolate chip cookies. But truthfully, everything there is really good. read more

It might be a tad pricey for an average college budget but the quality of food makes it one of my favorite restaurants in College Station.

When I want a sandwich and I am too lazy to make it myself, I go here. I can't imagine going anywhere else, including the sea of mediocre chains that washes over our town. Blue Baker is local and just plain good in practically every way. The bread is artisinal and baked in house, and you can try little bits of it as they make your sandwich. The fillings are various, and there are lots of fresh veggies and condiments. It's just plain great. They make pizza, and after RX and Antonio's it may be the best around. They cater, and their lunch boxes are great. Soups are ok but really pretty ordinary. Great coffee too, and if you are into carbs and sugar, their pastries are first rate. In from out of town, but turns out this is walking distance from the hotel. The freshly baked bread, the 9" pizza which I made to order. This type of pizza is cooked in the brick oven, so you get the bottom of the crust cooked. The staff was very attentive, on a Friday night it was not crazy busy. The soups were great, and they had little bits of samplings to try, nice touch. This is like a Panera's, but better with the pizza on the side. read more

I can't figure out the appeal, but every visit to Blue Baker seems to entail a long wait for bland food. This time, although we called in our order and were 5 minutes later than the time we were given, we waited another 10 minutes while they prepared our meal. My herbed bread was OK, but the cheese was industrial and apparently they don't salt anything. There's so many nicer places to eat in College Station; I honestly can't figure out how these guys stay open, much less draw people in numbers large enough to assure an annoying wait. read more
