I was bopping about Apple Hill recently. Yes, in early June and not even Apple season. There's…read morestill alot to do and see right now. Such as stopping by Blue Barn Provisions. It's a cafe of sorts serving salads, sandwiches, light eats, and pastries; local crafted ciders, beers and wines. Farm to fork concept here. Fresh and local. The food and drinks can be ordered at the counter. The seating is mostly outdoor tables which are all shaded. There is one long shared pub height table inside. The interior decor is clean, modern, and bright. Almost like brand new. The place gives off modern, vintage tractor farmhouse vibes. It's relaxed a gathering place for locals or folks just passing through. They don't rush folks through. Good eats and drinks in a chill vibe. The clientele is diverse and welcoming vibes. I saw customers of all ethnic backgrounds, They also have a bocce court and a cute compact koi pond. Hours of operation: Thursday -Monday 11am-4pm. Oh I almost forgot to tell ya. Right next food is the Farmhouse Mercantile. A gift and floral shop. Check them out as well. Plus there are a couple of wine tasting rooms within walking distance.

Got brisket sandwich and turkey brie sandwich. Both of them lacked meat:(I am not a huge meat eater, but it was minuscule amounts. Onions on brisket were not what I expected. &season greens on turkey was lettuce? The best part was home made pickles. That being said I would not go here again. Right by highway50&super loud. I have not experienced any noteworthy food in that area:( Pretty flowers on hill near exit:)

Perfect Spot for a Fall Day [Apple Hill|Camino CA]…read more The number of orchards in Apple Hill can be overwhelming that's why each year my eldest daughter always has a game plan to visit farms we haven't tried yet (and some repeat visits to our favorites) This was my first time at the Apple Ridge Farms. We spent most of our time here. There was a lot to do including an actual u-pick Apple orchard. Apple Ridge Farms is dog friendly. BBQ and Bakery with a full menu including sandwiches, salads and sides. They had a special on apple pies this weekend... $20 for a whole pie. Picnic Area - got our lunch and enjoyed it in the covered picnic area. Love their fries! Apple Barn - frozen pies, pastries, apple cider, fresh apples, Christmas boutique Country Store - filled with jams, jellies, fudge, chocolates, and great gift ideas Nature trail - visitors are able to choose between an easy trail and a not-so-easy trail. We chose the easy trail but I think they are both easy. Flower trail - unfortunately our visit was in early November and we missed when the flowers were in bloom. September would be the best time to visit and check out the colorful zinnias. Free to access. Gem mining - daughter has enjoyed this activity in other places since she was little. She's 23 now and still has fun with this experience. There is a fee for this activity. Pop ups Artisan Crafters - arts & crafts including wood works, handmade jewelry, handcrafted soaps and candles, paintings, dried nuts and fruits. Unique finds! Face painting - we did not do this activity due to time constraints but daughter had wanted one of Patrick Starr (SpongeBob Square Pants)... next time! Portable toilets are on-site. The friendly demeanor of the apple sampler in the barn cancelled out the bad attitude of the lady who sold us food in the bake shop. Still did not appreciate my friend being talked to like that but I guess that is what happens when the peppy no filter clashes with the grumpy no filter. Anyway, bake shop purchased yummies including veggie dog and pumpkin cookie were both very good, and I appreciated being able to pick up a pint of apple cider to go. They offer many other things at the bake shop such as turnovers, pies, cookies, additional desserts I don't feel like listing, sandwiches, and beverages. The apple barn smelled amazing, and we got to try a bunch of apple slices. I had never tried a mutsu apple or Arkansas black apple before and both were delicious and interesting. Mutsu is a golden delicious bred with a granny smith and the Arkansas black is thicc in texture/skin and sort of has a caramel sweetness to it. We liked sitting outside at the picnic tables and playing PoGo. Thought about heading over to the museum to look around but there was a hat cultist inside so neither of us felt like spoiling our day with that kind of aura iykyk. Maybe next time. You know what they say about one bad apple. Leave it on the ground, the rest will be just fine. Extra parking across the street but be so careful crossing the street. I did not notice any vegan options to confirm either way, but they do have many vegetarian friendly snack and meal options. Prices are reasonable for the area. My veggie dog was $8 and came with chips, and my pint of apple cider was $4.
