This is our third time in the area, once again our meal was fabulous, I should've but I did order a piece of coconut cream pie, and I have to say it was absolutely amazing. I've not tasted coconut cream pie that good since I was a child and my mother used to make it homemade. This diner is very cute and the staff does an outstanding job. I will always drive an hour out of my way to eat here.

"If It Ain't Broke, Don't Fix It!" The restaurant was built in 1948 in New Jersey as a railroad dining-car styled restaurant and was moved here in the 1950s. Not much has changed. They have a HUGE menu and it seemed like most of the folks in here at 7 am on a weekday were locals. Which was just fine for me. It was pretty quiet so the waitress didn't mind me sitting in a booth by myself. When I left an hour later, it still wasn't that busy. I looked over the menu, looked over the jukebox (Johnny Cash, Lee Greenwood and Garth Brooks on the same page?) before ordering an omelet. Quickly prepared and served with delicious toast and amazing home fries. Very well stuffed omelet and yes, I did eat a couple of the potatoes because I couldn't help myself. The coffee was great and I went through three cups of it before cutting myself off. Friendly, cozy, local. Stop in! [Review 18458 overall - 58 in Vermont - 1980 of 2022.]

Not to be dramatic but this was the best diner experience I've ever had in my life! They have a small waiting area and will let you know when a booth is ready for the next party. They also have seats at the counter that you can help yourself to if available. We decided to order a lot since the locals we met waiting said this place is amazing. The inside is very cute and cozy. We ordered the eggs Benedict, biscuits and gravy and a crunch berry pancake. All were so delicious! The coffee was also great. Would absolutely come back if we are in the area again!

A cozy place to get breakfast and yeah, it will get really cozy in the mornings so plan accordingly. It was a Sunday morning so I waited 30-40 minutes before getting sat down simply because there were no seats left even at the counter. I even watched some childish people argue over one of the chairs. People must really like the food here. Service was quick despite being extremely busy and this diner served diner quality food. So yes it was nothing special but that's what diners are for. I expect this and nothing else. Good job. My biscuits and gravy tasted just like how it does when the Army serves it in the dining facility. I approved of this meal. No shortage of sausage and the gravy wasn't too thick. Biscuits were dry enough to soak up this gravy so it all works out very well. My eggs were eggs. Again, no secrets here. The only secret was my girlfriend's omelet. She asked for Swiss Cheese and she barely got any. From the outside you would hope it was one of those omelets where the surprise is inside the box as you can see, it just looks like a plain egg. There was no shortage of bacon and spinach however, the cheese did look a little light for anyone's liking. It looks like it was sprinkled into the egg like a dash of salt. I'm sure being extremely busy with a long line of people waiting to be seated could have been a factor but it only takes a second. Hopefully this was a one time thing. Other than that, Blue Benn is busy for a reason! Local favorite and tourists can't find anywhere else to eat in the morning. I'd come again next time I go camping and don't feel like inhaling campfire smoke all morning which is exactly how I ended up here in the first place.

Typical New England diner where the locals are in the majority, orders at the counter b4 they sit down and the banter is always high spirited with plenty of laughter. A slice of Americana dished up with your homemade diner favorites served by career waitresses who've been at for decades. It doesn't get more nostalgic than the Blue Benn Diner, it's not fancy but it most certainly deserves a visit, alteast once in order to be transported back in time to a kinder gentler less complicated era where conviviiality is contagious.

Most of it was stringy, they offered only potatoes as a side, and "whatever the chef decides on a particular day." My husband's filet mignon was overcooked and dry, his potatoes lukewarm, and scallops overcooked. He told the waitress who offered to take the scallops - not the entire plate. The manager came over to apologize and asked my husband if he'd like to try anything else but he was too disappointed and lost his appetite. He explained that we were celebrating our anniversary but the woman didn't care to acknowledge it. After all that, the waitress returned and asked if we wanted to see the dessert menu without apologizing about our meal. Very unprofessional. We declined, paid the check, and left the bare minimum tip, which we never do. We don't blame the waitress for the food, but for her service technique and disinterest in her patrons' needs. Oh, they didn't charge us for my husband's meal but lacked the courtesy to tell us in person. Needless to say, despite the charming atmosphere, excellent salad bar, and incredible appetizers, we will not return. Maybe the chef had an off night, but what excuse did the staff have?

Just a little diner, not much to see from the outside, but inside it is unique with the only seating at a large circular counter with the open kitchen on the side. The menu is pretty much what you expect with mostly breakfast items and sandwiches; this is supplemented by a couple of different special boards and signs. Service was attentive and friendly. My friend ordered the biscuits and gravy with a side of eggs, I got a spinach, tomato and cheese omelet that came with hash browns and cinnamon raisin toast. The food came out promptly, with generous portions of nicely prepared food. My omelet was good with the fresh spinach and tomatoes adding some nice contrast to the eggs. the potatoes were good and the raisin toast was excellent. Cup N Saucer is well worth a visit just to experience the old school feel with solid food. The service was good and the server seemed to know all of the other customers as friends and regulars.

They still have specific male- female bathrooms which could be made available to both or 100 of the new sex orientations. My only problem is their hours. Most breakfast places seat diners during their open hours. If it says 1:30pm then the staff can get out by 2:30. This restaurant tends to push people away - who are there for brunch - at about 12:15. Not sure the owners know how much business they are actually turning away since it's not apparent that once someone has been turned away over an hour before their end of day never bother to return. Also now that tips aren't technically taxed I would think employees would like a full day of work. Perhaps they need 2 shifts of wait staff and/or open for breakfast at 8:00am rather than 7:00. I moved to Manchester 3 yrs ago and have been baffled by the shortage of people willing to work full time or employers willing to add part-time workers on their busy days (Friday through Monday) There must be a way to keep staff and accommodate early afternoon brunch (10-2pm) diners. Manchester is basically a resort town that has kept its small town feel - which is a positive - but most restaurants in the area depend on seasonal diners. (Ski season, Fall foliage (leaf peepers, Summer equestrian, musical, play events and quiet during "mud season" so many businesses take a break some time during April/May. Manchester is an odd duck of a town - more New England than upstate NY or E. Pennsylvania. Some old locals insist on calling lunch - dinner and dinner supper which just confuses anyone who isn't a member of the DAR. (Daughters of the American Revolution) I have friends here who had relatives come over on the Mayflower - it was obviously a VERY crowded boat.
