Small little corner restaurant in the heart of Sant Monica. Wow, it was busy. Mid-afternoon and every seat was taken. A table happened to open as we walked up, so we were seated immediately. We ordered shortly after we were seated. It was a cold, wet day, so a coffee sounded perfect. They brewed us up a fresh pot and kept our cups filled. I ordered a smoked turkey sandwich. I'm not sure what happened while eating it, but I kept thinking to myself...this is one of the best sandwiches I've ever had. Now I know why the place was so busy. I love this restaurant! Cozy on a rainy day. The Turkish latte hit the spot. I don't know what they put in it, but it tastes like a toasted marshmallow. FYI they have oat milk. I dreamed about pancakes all night. So I had to find a place that served up good ones within walking distance for me. Came across this restaurant. When arriving I was seated in the back patio area where they were only serving. I waited 12 mins for my server & just water. Mind you. There were only 8 customers in this area. This seemed to be an issue at every restaurant I went to. Now my server was amazing. He remembered everything without writing it down. Was professional & had excellent customer service. The pancakes hit the spot. I should of got more though:)) The presentation of my food was nice. Seeing what other customers had. I definitely want to come back and try everything on the menu. They seat larger groups outside, which was fine because there were plenty of heaters. We were greeted by our server who was attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. I ordered the meat sauce shakshuka because it sounded interesting and I have always been curious to try shakshuka. Honestly I would totally order shakshuka at other restaurants now that I have tried it for the first time. It is a delicious tomato based sauce with spices and a poached egg inside. This one tasted like I was eating straight bolognese, but it was tasty nonetheless. You really have to love tomatoes to order this dish. My friends ordered the avo toast, waffles, egg scramble combo, and nutella crepe and all said great things about their food. Came here feeling pretty grizzly from the debauchery the night before at Chez Jay. What a lucky break! Was raining cats and dogs and the place was packed (for good reason I'd soon find out), so we had to wait in the doorway for a short while then we were seated at small table and the restaurant was warm and dry. Other patrons filled every seat including the bar and it was a cacophony of chatter and laughter and server action all over the place. We quickly got our water, coffee, and a hair of the dog "remedy" to help my current state. Our food arrived shortly after and it was just the triage the doctor ordered. She got the most gourmet avo toast I've ever seen and it tasted even better than it looked. I got Benedict and it was superb. Came with these little breaded balls that I thought were hush puppies or giant falafel. They turned out to be zucchini hash and when I bit into the first one I about melted in my chair it was so warm and delicious. The servers and kitchen staff and bussers were just hustling full steam ahead and taking care of what was probably one hundred customers dining heavily while we were there. And keeping pace nicely. Park in one of the free 90 minute parking structures rather than agonize over street parking, you're welcome in advance. Anyway, Blue Daisy has cute indoor and outdoor seating and serves up a nice variety of breakfast, brunch, and lunch options. Their turkish latte is a nice way to start the day off as it's just the right amount of subtle sweetness and coffee....ness? Anyway, being the basic LA soul I am, I opted for some smoked salmon eggs benedict and I will say, the zucchini hash on the side was quite unique. Oh yeah, and the eggs benedict was good too. This is a fabulous brunch spot in Santa Monica! We came on a Sunday late afternoon without a reservation and only had to wait about 15-20 minutes. We were seated outdoors and I'd recommend bringing a light jacket cause a cool breeze can whip through the corner sometimes. The atmosphere is very cute and classy with marble tables and hanging plants. They also have clean restrooms which is always a plus. The food was very good and the serving sizes were pretty big! I ordered the Salmon Cake Scandia and it was VERY good. If you're okay with splurging just a little bit, I would definitely recommend it. The poached egg on top was done perfectly and the croissant it came with was very tasty. My boyfriend got the Eggs Benedict and it was also very tasty and flavorful. Went to Blue Daisy while visiting LA/Santa Monica for my first time, and had an enjoyable and relaxing experience! The ambience was so peaceful and the vibes, decor, and music playing made me feel like I was dining at a hotel restaurant in Mexico The staff was very helpful and didn't rush me while taking my time and enjoying my food. My servers were great and I appreciate the kind service they provided during my visit. I would highly recommend getting the Turkish coffee! I had my eye on it ever since I saw the photos and decided to give it a try not knowing what to expect. Definitely a game changer for coffee, and there's surprisingly, but sadly not a lot of places that serve this in Las Vegas. The flavor was perfectly rich and creamy, too, and if I wasn't full from my food order, I would've ordered a second one. Definitely going back again for that, along with trying an espresso martini the next time I'm back! Food-wise, I ordered a half-order of the pancakes and a side of the zucchini hash. As someone who also had Bariatric surgery a couple of years back, I'm glad I asked for that size instead of getting the regular/full order lol! But the two pancakes were fluffy and had a nice garnish of sliced strawberries and bananas, and a dusting of powdered sugar to it, along with a small side of maple syrup. The zucchini hash was fantastic and I loved the concept of it being a hash brown-muffin type item! I added a little salt on mine, but definitely a great substitute instead of potato hash browns! Overall, I'd give this place a 10/10 and I'll be back for more and to try an espresso martini the next time I'm in Santa Monica!! Only been here once, hate to rate off of one experience... but food was below average (strike #1). I got a breakfast burrito and the taste was very bland. My brother got his with fries, I got mine with a salad. Fries were bad - stale and almost tasted like they were made yesterday. Salad also was lacking quality and fresh crispness. One of our breakfast burrito orders came with a salsa, the other did not... we asked for that salsa and hot sauce to give the burrito some life. Coffee was really poor quality (strike #2) and drinks had no back bone - a dirty chai latte needs to have a semblance of espresso in it. The cappuccino was almost 100% milk... my brother's iced americano was also unpleasant. Not sure if they are serving half shots for their coffee drinks or if their beans are just old/weak. Our other party members were also not thrilled with their orders, seems like one person who had dined here before ordered the same menu item and something had changed with their order. Will give a star for cool decorations and slightly above average service. But it will not be a place that I am looking forward to return to. Parking can be tricky, spot can pick up a lot of noise from surrounding area, and prices are rather high for the quality of food/service received. (I get that Santa Monica rents are high, but a better managed place would be able to deliver a better experience.) read more

A popular brunch place in Santa Monica. The food is pretty decent! I always like savory crepes and their florentine tastes great, big enough to share with another person. French toast was good too, fruits tasted fresh. Food came out not too late, probably a usual wait you would expect from a busy brunch place. Good for friends, date, maybe a group upto 4-5 but definitely not a huge one, the tables are more for smaller groups. The wait was a bit tricky and weird- everyone sort of just waited out the door without a list (they all seemed confused and tried to look for one)- I went in to ask the waitress if I should sign somewhere but she said she'll help me out once I wait outside. This time ordered the Turkish latte since I remembered it being soo good and bold. The fresh orange juice is a must as to make the breakfast that much more perfect. I ordered the salmon Benedict. The hollandaise sauce wasn't heavy lr to vinegary like many places. The poached egg was cooked perfectly. The breakfast appetizer or Turkish breakfast was excellent. I love their cheese and little appetizers of olives, cucumbers, etc. was fresh and in fact refreshing being cold appetizers. The shakshuki was also good but felt maybe too salty.
