What a great coffee shop! It's tucked away in an industrial park inside a garage. It's easy to find thanks to their strategically placed signage. My mechanic is nearby and I noticed the signs. Inside is very cozy with smooth jazz playing over the speakers. Only thing ruining the atmosphere is the high pitched metallic screech sound from an adjacent business but once sipping my delicious drink I was able to tune it out. They roast their own beans so I kept it simple with an Americano. Delicious rich tasting espresso with no bitterness. For my wife I brought home their Biscoff cookie butter latte. Wow. This was fantastic. Was like drinking a liquid cookie. Service was friendly, prices decent, and they have a rewards program. I will definitely be back! read more

I am amazed by this location time after time. I am glad to see that the most recent reviews have all high ratings, appropriately so. I am not surprised due to their consistent customer service, friendly attitude, and overall, their genuine disposition. Brian, the manager/owner here, has transformed this warehouse into an atmosphere of warmth and cheer. For example, today, he was at the register himself demonstrating that even as an owner, no work is beneath him. This is a good illustration of a great leader who not only leads his team as an owner/manager, but also, consistently works ALONGSIDE his team. Brian warmly greeted me and even remarked that he hasn't seen me in a long time and hope that everything is well. Who does this in this day and age? I ordered the honey oat latte, iced and it was promptly delivered by J.C. J.C. said they that switched to a different brand of oat milk, which should make it more creamy and decadent. I liked how when he served me, he also gave me updates on what they did to improve the drink. Moses also took his time as always to ask me how I am and say Hi. I tried this place two years ago but totally forgot about it because it's in an obscure area that I don't normally frequent. Was just reminded about it after going to Gremlin Garage in Costa Mesa, which also operates out of a converted mechanics garage. Menu has changed a bit since I last tried this place so I don't know if any of the items I tried in the past would still hold but I remember trying its New Orleans Cold Brew, which was quite good. On today's visit I just got some caffeine free drinks for my kids - Grapefruit Ade and Yuja Frost. Grapefruit Ade was very refreshing. YuJa Frost is a blended drink made with Korean yuja, ginger, and honey. I would personally prefer to have this drink non-blended but the flavor was still very good. One thing that hasn't changed about this place is its great customer service. Everyone has been friendly on all my visits, and this place is kid friendly, which is a big plus for me. It still offers free snacks to kids. There's even a box with big chalks by the entrance for kids to draw and write on the ground. Current menu looks even better than when I was last here so will probably stop by more frequently. I also love the garage vibe. read more

They have ceremonial-grade matcha! Yay! I loved this spot right when I took my first sip. It is hard to spot from the street bc it's inside a business park and behind a church. They have a lounge area and some park benches. Very few intimate spaces, unfortunately. I prefer tables to myself because I take up so much room with my backpack, notebooks, laptop and food. Roberto and CJ, the two baristas who had helped me that day, were very kind to give me recommendations on drinks, let me know what I might like, and even gave me a sample of their Pacific Blend latte. Their drinks that I've tried and liked have a been more than a handful, and they've all been pretty good. I recommend their caramel cloud cold brew latte- one of their speciality drinks, the honey oat latte- hot or iced, and you can't go wrong with either the iced mango (this one you can ask for it to be adjusted for half sweet) or iced lychee tea. One of their other popular drinks is the New Orleans latte or cold brew, but this drink was not for me, since it has lavender flavor in that, which I don't care for. I am not a floral drink person, but for any lavender girlies, this might be perfect. The shop has pretty ample parking and actually has tables and spots inside to sit. You'd miss it if you blink - the entrance to this cozy little coffee spot is in an industrial/business park area that I only discovered because it's near my VW tech's shop. It's literally a converted warehouse sort of setup - awesome decor and setup. They do very well with what little space they have - there is a roastery in the back, and a cafe upfront. I picked up the Pacific Blend Cold Brew, and a Ham & Cheese croissant - I like their very minimalist menu - only a few items they specialize in - which also helps prevent a long wait. You don't have to wait ten minutes like other cafes because someone in front of you ordered a super customized drink. It's straight forward here - latte or cold brew, hot or iced. The cold brew was great - smooth and full-bodied, with nutty tones. I normally like to add cream and sugar to my cold brew - but I had no issue drinking this straight. The ham and cheese croissant hit the spot - good ratio of meat, cheese, and croissant. They happily accommodated my request to microwave the pastry instead of toast it - since I prefer soft foods instead of crunchy/crispy. I was eyeing a Brown Butter Sugar Cookie - so I picked one of those up as well. Soooo good. The sweetness complements the taste of the cold brew. It's a perfect pair if you're here and just looking for a drink and a sweet treat. The space - such an awesome workspace. There's two picnic style tables, and two square tables, a sofa, outdoor seating, and a bar type setup near the entrance. The main roll-up door welcomes the cool ocean breeze in to keep the temperature down. Outlets are non-existent - not an issue for me since my laptop is normally charged, and I carry a portable power station with me anyway - but something to keep in mind if you're planning to study. Parking is super easy. There is a church across the way, but because they are mostly open on Sundays, you have a lot of open spots. One of the co-owners I was chatting to mentioned that they close a bit early on Sundays to allow parking for the churchgoers - a thoughtful measure. Came here for the first time this morning for a morning boost. I asked the girl at the register what her favorite iced coffee was and she recommended the New Orleans latte and the honey oat iced coffee. I went with the New Orleans and was very satisfied. The coffee had a great flavor, not bitter or burnt and the cold foam added a nice sweetness to balance out the nutty coffee flavor. I really appreciate how the staff came over to bring my drink to me as well as two other customers in the shop. Very attentive and thoughtful! It seems to be both roastery (mostly hidden from view) and coffee shop. The picnic tables for seating, mellow music, and welcoming employees make the atmosphere casual and relaxed. It felt so inviting that I hung out longer than I intended. Multiple reviewers rave about the New Orleans Latte so I ordered an iced one. The effervescent barista recommended agave to sweeten it up so I gave a "yes" to that too. She also recommended a cream top so that got another "yes". The brown butter cookie in the pastry case seemed to want me to eat it so I got that too (warmed up). The cookie was a bit crumbly, but good golly, it was delicious! Brown sugar sweetness and so buttery with a bit of salt on top to give a little sweet-salty experience for the ol' tastebuds. The New Orleans Latte was bold in flavor, somewhat sweet and so smooooooth. I really REALLY appreciated the use of just a couple large ice cubes rather than what certain chain coffee shops do, filling the entire cup with chipped ice and leaving little room for your coffee drink. I don't quite understand how this latte, one of my all-time favorites, is made but it involves using a coffee extract. Say hello to Huntington Beach's most hidden coffee shop. You'll find Blue Flame nestled between a variety of warehouse buildings. The decor gives off authentic coffee roaster. You'll find roasting materials, large bags of coffee beans, and machinery scattered across the cozy space. I gave this business four stars because the strawberry matcha was a bit too sweet. It ended up taking a lot like Captain Crunch cereal and very little like matcha. I did love their variety of baked goods: muffins, scones, croissants, etc. They even offered samples of several flavors. The biz also sells pre-batched teas and coffees. The Thai Tea instantly caught my eye, but I ended up passing due to the $16 price tag. They have a limited number of seats available, mainly large community picnic tables. Parking is easy, so it's a great spot for a grab and go. Thankful to Yelp for introducing me to local gems like this one. read more
