Great first stop on our trip to TX. We had a Jalapeño Margarita and the Blue Goose margarita, both great. Also tried their Goose Eggs, chicken and cheese stuffed jalapeños, fried. Their home made chips are better than most in Florida, and although their regular salsa was good, their warm tomatillo salsa verde was positively addictive. They also have 5 other locations in Texas. There are daily drink specials with a full bar, wines, beers, etc. They serve several kinds of nachos, several quesadillas, & appetizers such as fish tacos, botanas, shrimp cocktail, and queso. Chicken, beef or combo fajitas, as well as shrimp, and 2 or 3 item combos served with rice and either retried or charro beans. They also have chicken or beef Chile rellenos, burritos, chimichanga and tacos. Their weekend brunch sounds very intriguing, including huecos rancheros, chilaquiles, several omelettes, carne asada con huecos, & a breakfast quesadilla. Not impressed at all and won't be back. Biggest reason to go was our party of 3 leaving the mall hungry. The cost was double that of a place like El Fenix, and the food was not even as good. Finally, the service was the worst I've had in years, and it wasn't that busy. Not once, but 4 or 5 or more times we sat at the table awaiting something. I guess I tipped out of habit; if doing it again, I wouldn't. I do superior service work, and some people tip a little, some a lot, and some not at all. I need to adopt the same mindset. read more

I stopped by here while getting tires next door at Discount Tire. The venue was clean and the service was friendly. I had a taco salad and a skinny margarita. Well, I had two of them to be exact. The salad was average but the margarita was delish. I would visit again to delve into the food a bit more but, I have been to the one in Highland Village and know the food to be good. Met some friends at the Blue Goose for lunch. The restuarant was clean and attractive. Food was average for a Tex-mex cuisine. The waitress, however, was inexperienced. As sometimes happens when a service provider is trying show care, our waitress repeatedly interrupted the flow of conversation at the table to see we we doing. It was most noticable when she asked if we wanted dessert (sopapillas) when our main meal was less than half way done. It just seemed odd. We said no. Later (after the meal) we did order sopapillas and they were excellent. read more

Service nonexistent. My wife and I come to this location frequently, but since the reopen, service has gone down. The location wasn't busy and easily had more staff on hand for the amount of parties dinning in. At least a dozen waiters/waitresses walk by our table and no one ever notice we never even got to order drinks. Walked out after twenty minutes of no service. My co-worker mentioned they have $2 margarita's on Tuesday. Since I'd always seen it in passing but never visited, I decided to give it a try. We ordered queso for an appetizer. It was delicious. Although they could have added a bit more fajita meat in it. Then we ordered (2) Pick two meals. I picked the brisket soft taco and a chicken enchilada; it also came with a side of rice and beans. My meal wasn't totally bad. But I have had better. I don't think I'll be going back to eat. But I will go back to try those $2 margarita's. read more

Blue Goose Grapevine Texas - Absolutely disappointed in this restaurant. I should have seen the red flag when at prime lunch time on a Tuesday the place was less than 25% occupied. Even at that, it took 10 minutes to get seated, only because there was no one at the front desk. And yes, they saw us but were busy chit chatting with each other. Once seated, it took an additional 10 minutes to get drinks. We asked the waiter (only because it was his job title, really not what I would consider what he was doing) for napkins. Another 10 minutes went by, and we got up and got our own. Now no chips, we had to ask the bar tender for more who in turn sent a young lady to get them. Then had to stop the waiter (who had left another table) for more tea. The food, well, let's start with the salsa and queso, Rotel tomatoes are a good comparison as well as Velveta cheese. It was like "pop open" a can and pour it out. We ordered nachos, ummmm, 4 chips will not suffice for lunch, that's a small appetizer. Now, I'm from Texas and do enjoy my TexMex, and now I can get excited about Taco Bell because the general standards outshine Blue Goose by far. Tex-Mex is one of our favorite types of food. This was the first place we went to once getting into Dallas. We were dehydrated from our traveling and just ordered water to start but the water tasted like dirt. We ended getting fountain beverages and they tasted fine. We started off with the Top Shelf Queso. That was delicious. It was a combination of their housemade queso with sour cream, pico de gallo, guacamole, and beef. For our entrees, I enjoyed a veggie filled quesadilla which was tasty but very greasy to the point of making the tortilla soggy. My sister had a lunch combo including a beef flauta which turned out to be extremely crispy, a sour cream enchilada which she raved about and a side of their charro beans and rice which she also said was great. All in all, it was a good experience our server was polite but unmemorable. read more

We came on New Year's Day. Our server was Luis, he was excellent. We did the skinny margarita special. Those were strong drinks! We got the vegetable quesadillas that are not ok the menu but really good. I got the full order but in the future I'd only order half. My hubby got a combo that included the queso and it was sooo good. We also tried the sopapillas and they were soooo delicious! I highly recommend trying this place out. I really like the Blue Goose. Honestly, it really depends on which location you eat at. The one in Highland Village I'm not so much a fan of. The Grapevine location had great food and great service. One of the things I look for when dining out with my family is how quickly I can get in and out. I appreciated our efficient waitress on this particular night. The frozen margarita was a win! I had the chicken flauta's and shared them with my daughter. Their chips and salsa are also good! read more

I haven't been to Blue Goose Cantina in a long time. We were greeted with a warm welcome. Someone opened the door for us to enter. The food was great. We highly recommend the chicken fajitas. Also, the grilled shrimp was great. Our server was amazing. She was so pleasant and very pleasant with us. When we left, one of the workers graciously opened the door for our departure. I picked up a To-Go order yesterday the food was absolutely HORRIBLE. Very disappointing. The bartender was actually friendly that time, but the time before I came to pick up food she wouldn't even acknowledge me with me standing right in front of her. I waited for 5 minutes until I spoke up about my food, which was sitting on the counter the whole time... Doubt I will go back, both times were not good. You would think these things wouldn't happen if the restaurant wanted to stay in business. People who are trying to support local businesses should be treated much better then this. read more

I eat here all time and it is usually a great place to eat until today when I stopped by to eat before work. It was 3:30 pm when I got there and the guy that seated me was great but it was over 20 minutes before my Waitress came and took my order. There was hardly anyone there so I don't know why it took so long for her to get there. After she finally brought me my meal it was cold. So I told her it was cold and she brought it back to the kitchen and 20 minutes later she brought me a new plate back to my table and it was cold too so I just asked for my check, paid and left. Looking for something besides food court food at Grapevine Mall. Had seen the restaurants around the Dallas/Addington area so gave it a shot. It was after the lunch rush & the place was still a bit busy, but we got immediate seating for 2. Place was clean and colorful. Large menu and lunch menu was available until 3pm to that's a plus. Ordered chips & queso to start. Queso was good as were the chips. I ordered the Pick 3 Topolo Lunch Combo with tamales, pork and Blue Goose which is chicken, jalapenos, jack cheese w/verde sauce. The pork came with chili con carne. Tamales were cooked well, but I was hoping for more flavor from the Blue Goose. Seemed to be more masa than filling. I asked to hold the rice on my plate which was done and got charro beans which were really good. Hubby got the Blue Goose taco salad with fajita chicken and a jalapeno shell. He found it fresh and the guacamole good. It's wasn't too heavy so good choices for lunch. Service was great and everyone seemed happy to be there and was willing to do what was necessary to make your visit pleasant. read more

The service at Blue Goose is far beyond exceptional. I am celiac and have to adhere to a strict gluten free diet. Garrett informed me that almost everything is gluten free. And told me what items to stay away from. He was very helpful in making sure they prepared a safe meal for me. This one is not as good as other Blue Goose locations in DFW(I have been to Frisco, Lower Greenville, Addison, and Highland Village). When we were seated we ordered drinks, our food, and some Tortillas and queso. By the time our Chips, salsa, queso, and tortillas arrived our food arrived less than a minute later not allowing us the ability to enjoy our appetizers. We felt rushed through the whole meal if we wanted fast food we would have just went to Taco Bueno. The food was not up to par with other Blue Gooses and below average with DFW Tex Mex standards. I would have at least given it 2 Stars if we didn't feel so rushed and they allowed us to at least enjoy our appetizers read more

Just another cantina. It was my first time at a Blue Goose. Joined some friends and kids here on a late Saturday afternoon. The food was a little salty. The service was decent and the beer was cold. The casual atmosphere is good for families. No one seemed to notice we had four kids between the ages of three and six. Had the food been less salty I would've given it another star. read more
