My husband is new to this area and loves Tex-Mex. We were in the area so I thought going to this restaurant would be a good thing for both of us. The food was excellent. We enjoyed it very much. First off parking sucks. I think the chef got lost on his culinary travels. I understand Tex Mex food but Tex mex American is a new one. Brisket taco with no sauce? Little bbq or some pico something. Enchiladas with cheddar cheese. Cheddar doesn't melt the way it needs to for a proper enchilada. Drowning it in canned cheese sauce is a crime. The waitress said it was covered in a red sauce. She didn't say the red sauce was Hormel Chili when they remade it. The Dirty Bob was not dirty but im think Bob made it by cutting corners. I had bigger burritos at Taco Bell and they had more meat and a lot cheaper. Says comes with Ranchero sauce. I tried the cheese. Had the runs most of the night. Ranchero sauce is just that. Not Hormel Can chili. My son had the Brisket tacos and was puking in your bath room before we left. Some of the people in our group really liked the food. But they are locals and used to this American food. I think the health inspector needs to visit and see what he finds. You need to change your food from Tex-Mex to American. read more

Our Anniversary was last week, the day before it my dad fell. Our anniversary day we spent at Big Baylor and cancelled our original plans. Driving home we stopped expecting a good meal, drinks and service. We were not disappointed! The drinks were great, the food was excellent as always, the service was extra special when our waitress found out what the day was and how our day had been. They made us feel extra special and we appreciated every moment of the night. It will be an anniversary to remember ending with a high note. We came on a Saturday evening--it was pretty full but there was no wait for 2 people. It's too bad we live 40 miles from this establishment otherwise it would be a place we'd frequent. We stopped on the way home from an event. Great food, great service, and great atmosphere. I hardly write reviews but I had to praise what a remarkable job Aolani did. My fiancé and I both agreed she's the best server we've had in a very long time--not including fine dining establishments (which we think she'd fit right in). Aolani was very attentive and on top of everything--we had a few requests during and after our meal. She even offered to get off-menu items that would complement my meal right before I was planning to ask for them--if this is not above and beyond service, you're asking for too much. Even when the kitchen got my order wrong (it happens), I was not the least bit upset. All the other food and side dishes kept me satisfied. The kitchen cooked it right away, so I didn't have to wait long. I hope management recognizes their stars (the ones who put in the hard work and care in their job). Brought my parents here after they recently moved to the McKinney area. The service was outstanding and very accommodating for our large family, and the food was great! I am staying at the Hampton Inn right behind The Blue Goose Cantina and decided to give it a try. First, Love the atmosphere here. Very lively and up beat. The staff what's amazing, very friendly and warm greeting the instant I walked in the door, my waiter Brody was amazing. He recommended the fajitas and I will say they did not disappoint. The flavor was full and robust. The flour tortillas were perfect, not too thin, not too thick. I believe they are made on site. I will eat here again the next time I am in town. Went in a Sunday, there was no wait, there were a lot of empty booths yet the hostess decided to seat us in the least favorable spot, right in front of where the kitchen meets the restaurant. Needless to say I kindly asked for a different table. Ordered a hibiscus margarita it was like 99% ice. The food made it for everything though. The place was busy when we walked in, but we still got seated right away. Service was great, our server was very attentive and fast; he made sure to check on us if we needed something. The place was festive with Christmas lights. We ordered cocktail, margarita was a bit sour and I did not really taste any alcohol (it still has a good taste to it). I ordered the brisket taco and it tasted about average. My husband got the chile Relleno, it was pretty spicy and it still had seeds and all, but he likes spicy food so it works for him. We had a great experience here! Although they seemed pretty busy, we were seated as soon as we got to the restaurant, and our waitress did a fabulous job! I believe her name was Alyssa. My street tacos were great, half chicken and half steak! It was a good amount of food for the price. We expected the chimichanga to be bigger than it was, but it was still awesome! Spend money here! They will do you right. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting even though it was a busy Tuesday night. Love their food, but ...we brought our puppy to sit out on the patio. We told the hostess that we had a puppy and she said that was fine. The waitress even brought him water. Only after we had ordered did the manager come by to tell us that they were "not pet friendly" and asked me to put the puppy in the car. However, we ran out of chips and hot sauce, and had to stop someone and ask for more. Additionally, our drinks ran empty, and it was quite a while before the weather showed back up to take care of refills. Have to give service just two stars We got steak fajitas. Typically, I find the price generally matches up with a quality. However, the fajitas were on the high-end price wise, but we're definitely not in line quality wise. The flavor was good, but you absolutely had to cut them with a knife. The refried beans lacked flavor. However, the chips and salsa were good. About 3 1/2 stars. We enjoyed the atmosphere! Clean and well-maintained. The bar is a sports like bar area. Other wise it's your typical Tex-Mex restaurant environment. 4+ stars for this. A friend of ours picked this place to have lunch. Parking nightmare. Went at 6pm on a Thursday, and the lot was completely full. Pulled into what looked like an abandoned fast food place to park. Apparently Pollo Regio is in business and what little customers they get don't use that space. Was towed and left without car seats for my small children. This is a NEW problem and management should be taking care of it or at least have waitstaff and hostesses reminding people to not park there until they figure it out. Will never go back and will tell everyone management is horrible. Likely Pollo Regio and Blue Goose is getting money on the side from Tow companies because they had them circling the lot. Met friends there last evening. They recently moved to Indiana and Blue Goose is our go to place. While we only ordered drinks along with chips, salsa and queso, our server Milani was outstanding. She was welcoming, friendly knowledgeable and provided amazing customer service. She also introduced us to the La Flaca drink which we all enjoyed. It's pretty good food, nothing here is spicy. The salsa is diced tomatoes with a little bit of seasoning. If you get any of the sauces that say they come with jalapeños, they're going to be pickled nacho jalapeños. So all around the flavors are just OK. They say the tortillas are homemade and you can see the tortilla machine, but they're just not that good. I've always said once you started getting north of Waco. Mexican food went downhill really bad. This place is no exception. read more

We were optimistic on our way here as this was the destination for our final dinner before heading home. Sad to say, but the best thing we had was the complimentary chips and salsa. The rave reviews on Google really misled us. Gonna stick to what Yelpers have to say!! The brisket tacos looked popular and delicious. They were so bland. The big bad botanas platter wasn't much better. With a few more fried/crispy options lending a bit more depth to the food. Goose eggs had a good heat to them but the cheese was a bit rubbery. Fajita quesadilla chicken and beef mix were good but must have been the weird cheese throwing it off. The fajita nachos and the guacs were good. The queso was a bit too heavily salted. The best service was when the food was brought out and the guy returned with smaller plates fairly quickly. And when I went up to the tortilla counter to ask one of the women for utensils. Yeah. Great Service Alert! We came in after a softball tournament, we had a group about 30-35 people. They didn't even sweat it, even with a full restaurant. We got sat outside on the patio, the got it all warm and comfy in there. I couldn't believe the service. We got are drinks instantly, and the free chip refills were constantly flowing. We got our food & everyone enjoyed it. Believe it or not, i actually didn't even get a picture of the supreme queso or my OG Tacos. I was so wrapped in the great atmosphere and began eating. Hands down must try the supreme queso with brisket. This place was delish and a great time with Amazing staff. I wish i could remember the man name who helped us! Went out on Monday night, not too busy. Service was good, chips & salsa right away, drinks quickly as well. However, we were sat in this alley section by a door and the servers station & it's COLD over there! It was in the lower 30s (outside). We had to keep our coats on & the table behind us commented about keeping their beanies on because it was cold. No, I'm not an old fart, but maybe stick to seating the warmer areas first when we get this type of weather? Churros were great! The rest of the food was meh. My wife and I are on vacation in McKinney and decided to give Blue Goose Cantina a try. We came for dinner and immediately loved the atmosphere and asked to sit outside in their patio seating. We were quickly greeted by our server Amanda. She was very friendly and personable. Amanda took our order and always made sure we had enough drinks, salsa, and chips. Parking situation is terrible. Small parking at Blue Goose is full and what looks like available parking has a tolling business taking cars as soon as you walk into Blue Goose. The food and service at Blue Goose was excellent. The hibiscus margarita was absolutely delicious and I can be picky about my margaritas. The menu listed it as margarita of the year (2022) in a Fort Worth competition. I can definitely say it's a winner. We enjoyed the shrimp cocktail for an appetizer which was very flavorful.
