Picked this restaurant because of the reviews and it didn't disappoint. Ordered a happy margarita which was good. I had the Blue Goose quesadilla which was excellent. My son had the fajita beef nachos which he said was good. The service was excellent. The churros were ok. They came with a sauce which was amazing but the churros were very dark and very crunchy. This spot feels more modern and updated, yet still keeps the same delicious food quality and warm service that Blue Goose is known for. Our server, Carrie, was absolutely exceptional. She was attentive without hovering, lighthearted and funny, and genuinely engaged with all of us, including my daughter, which always earns bonus points in my book. She made the whole experience feel easy and enjoyable. We went on a Sunday night, later in the evening, and I was surprised at how relaxed the atmosphere was. It wasn't busy at all, service was quick, and every dish hit the mark. The Tacos Dorados (chicken flautas) were amazing, the birria tacos were packed with flavor, and the queso dip is definitely a must-order. We left saying the same thing: we'd gladly make the extra drive to come back to this location over the one closest to us. That alone says a lot. First of all...I can't say enough about our server, Jameson! His positive energy was contagious! We had just been to Baylor Medical down the street and he was just what the doctor ordered! Neither of us had been to a Blue Goose in over 10 years. And a lot has happened in the past 10 years so we were cautiously optimistic when we got there but we left feeling like all expectations had been exceeded! The food was wonderful. The salsa was just as good as I remembered. This is the first restaurant we have been to since Covid that was still generous with the protein! So we asked to speak to the manager. Brittani came to our table and we raved about the entire experience. We told her she did a great job hiring Jameson. And the people in the booth next to us, started to leave, they interrupted our discussion because they heard us mention Jameson and said they also wanted to tell Brittani what an outstanding job he did. The service at this location was not what I've come to be used to at this restaurant chain. It was my first visit to this location. Better experience at Taco Bell. Unbelievable!! Every chip had to be wiped off... so much salt. Cold old flour tortillas (watched them take them out of wrapper) Terrible quality for the high prices charged. Do not recommend this location. Wish I would've gone to Addison or Frisco or any other location. Never saw a Manager once. And as far as the ambience, I think you'd have better ambience in the service bay of a car dealership. 07/23/26 - My wife and I frequent here quite a bit, but it will be a long time before we come back - but not because of what happened, but for the service. Halfway through our meal I take a sip of my margarita and I had to spit out a dead cricket out of my mouth. I'm 1) a nice person and 2) a former service industry worker so I didn't make a huge fuss about it and let the server know and she got her manager. The manager came by and comped our current food and drinks. This was our "one night out" so I'm not letting a cricket get in the way and going home early. Typically I will have 3-4 margs while I sit there and the cricket was in my second one so I didn't let that deter me. At the end we ask the server if we owe anything to be courteous and let her know we're leaving and she brings us a bill with the drinks we had after the incident. I am appalled the manager did not check on us once afterwards and we had to pay for our drinks afterwards - it was $5 margarita night, it's not like we were having $15 margs. It's not the money, it's the service you provide to your customers, especially the frequent ones. I wouldn't have minded one drink so I could tip the server (she got $20 on the $75 tab), but come on, do better. We will not be back for a long time and we're not happy about that being the case. I was at Blue Goose today. Food was delicious;the bartender for the first shift was kind and helpful. The problem started when I ordered margaritas for my friend and me from the second shift bartender. He told me, very loudly, that I didn't pay for the two margaritas that I ordered the last time I was in about 3 weeks ago. I responded with, please let me correct that as I was unaware that I had done that, and quite embarrassed for my oversight. He said never mind, and I replied that why would he bring it up if it didn't need to be corrected. Anyway, I finally corrected my mishap as I insisted that I pay what I owed. We recently visited the Blue Goose for the second time, while staying with family in Carrollton. I will say that the quality of the meal was higher the first time (6-months ago). But overall, we enjoyed the drinks (margaritas), chips and salsa (salsa is too hot for some, but I really like it) and most of us enjoyed our entree. A mistake was made on mine and the food wasn't as hot as it could be. We had a friendly young man waiting on us and he had a great sense of humor. The restaurant was not super busy at 5ish on a Friday night, but was pretty full when we left. It has a lively atmosphere and can be pretty loud when it's full. I was real disappointed in Blue Goose today. We love coming for the happy hour and the queso. Our friend wanted to have her birthday dinner there with 11 people. First--when we ordered drinks, the waitress only ID'd the younger ones (25-27 years old). She didn't ID any of the ladies over 30, but one could think that was rude because she went based off of looks to check ID's. The polite thing to do would be to check everyone's ID. Next, I ordered queso when everyone ordered drinks. Reminded her twice about it as well, after 2 hours of being there it still never came. She never apologized. Just said "oh, I'll take it off your bill." Third, she heard it was the birthday girls birthday multiple times and never offered to bring the free dessert that we are aware they do. We made plans to meet our good friends for dinner here at the Blue Goose Cantina. My friend tried to make a reservation by calling and never could get through. Since I have the Open Table app I put in a reservation for 4 for a Friday at 6;00 pm. It accepted my reservation but when I added it to my calendar, it put it down for 12:00 am! Weird! Anyway, when hubby and I arrived there were open booths and tables and we were seated right away. I ordered 4 glasses of water and they were delivered quickly along with a basket of chips and several different salsa dips. Our friends arrived a few minutes later and they were shown over to our booth. We all perused our menus to decide what we were going to order. Service was very attentive. Hubby and I decided to share some chicken fajitas. The food was delivered super fast, especially since it was a busy Friday evening. Everything was prepared as we had ordered it. The chicken was moist and perfectly grilled. We ordered a combination of flour and corn tortillas. It was fun to watch fresh tortillas being made in the machine. We enjoyed our delicious meals with our good friends. The large table next to us had several really loud customers, but luckily they finished up and were leaving, right as our food was being delivered. I could have used a refill in my water glass, especially after all the talking we were doing, but we needed to head out so it was no big deal.
