We really wanted to experience the true Key West vibe, and Yelp recommended this place, so of course we had to try it! Parking was a little tricky, but we managed to find free parking for our golf cart, so we were pumped about that. We were seated near the band, and I immediately loved the music and overall atmosphere. There are chickens and roosters roaming around everywhere, which just adds to the quirky Key West charm. There are signs asking you not to feed them, which made me feel a little bad because they definitely know how to make you want to! We arrived just in time to make the cutoff for brunch, and I ordered the Rooster Special with two sunny-side-up eggs, hash browns, and banana bread. Everything was cooked perfectly, and the banana bread was especially good, soft, moist, and delicious. For a drink, I ordered the Heaven's Punch. It was a gorgeous color, tasted great, and fit the tropical atmosphere perfectly. I also loved the outdoor decor and the laid back, small town beach vibe of the entire place. It really felt like the kind of experience we were hoping to find while exploring Key West. The bathrooms were clean, and I even loved seeing the caged birds along the way to the restroom. Our waiter was attentive, friendly, and helpful throughout our meal. Overall, I definitely recommend stopping here if you're visiting Key West and want good food, live music, tropical drinks, and a fun, quirky atmosphere. Parking can be a little tricky, but once you're inside, the experience is absolutely worth it. This was one of those places that really made us feel like we were in Key West!
We had dinner and Chris was our server. She was very attentive and friendly. All of us felt our dinners were delivered luke warm and not hot. Thus the star downgrade. My partner had the jerk chicken and it was nicely seasoned with rich jerk spices. I had the macro bowl which was largely a vegan dish. It was really nice for me. Others at our table had the barbecue shrimp which looked delicious but again was not very hot temperature wise.
One of the best restaurants I have tried in a while. Those michellin guide restaurants are no joke! The carrot curry soup was so good, I ordered one more while I was there. The bbq shrimp appetizer with their mini corn bread was such a perfect starter. The main took a while but it was worth it when it came out. Jamaican jerk chicken - chicken was juicy and nicely cooked. The kicker was key lime pie. It was SO good that it would be criminal to not try it. They had live music going on. Very ocean vibes. Service was good as well.
I found this place after googling "the best key lime pie in Key West" and it absolutely lived up to the hype. We stopped by during dinner without a reservation, and the hostess let us know the wait would be about 15-20 minutes. Since we were only there for the pie, she kindly suggested we head across the street where we could order it without waiting. The key lime pie was a 10/10. The filling had the perfect balance of sweetness and bright citrus flavor, and the fluffy topping tied it all together. It was light, refreshing, and honestly one of the best key lime pies I've had. I found myself craving another slice just a few hours later.
We have the boot (lobster) and Mo $31 great price. Huge meaty chunks of lobster and the to stow was thick and juicy also. Has the pecan pancake just one and it was the size of a plate. Cool Ambiance. Great outdoor seating and people watching. Brittany served us at the bar outside. She was prompt professional polite and great recommendations. Good drinks too. A try beverage artisan Make reservations or expect to wait.
Absolutely delicious brunch! So many unique options. I had my first shrimp omelet ever. Still thinking about it! The banana bread was amazing the banana pancakes were even better! The key lime pie was gorgeous. They had so many drink options. My sister had the key lime martini and WOW! It was probably the best one of the trip! The restaurant is outside but covered by trees so it was nice and shady. There are chickens running around which is just so funny and fun to watch. All of the staff were very nice and working very hard! Would definitely add this to your Key West places to go!!
The vibes here are fantastic, from the eclectic visuals, outdoor atmosphere, and excellent live music with friendly staff! The menu is quite impressive, both for drinks and food options. Unfortunately though the food taste was just average. For the price and quality noted I was definitely expecting a more "wow" flavor experience and it fell very flat. We had different benedicts, and also tried the key lime pie (fantastic presentation, but not something I would say wowed me compared to others I've had). Overall if you want a unique place that feels like you're in your own world and can just enjoy the company and music, you'll enjoy your visit here.
We had a great experience here, even if it did happen during a record-breaking downpour! The umbrellas outdoors held up pretty well I will say! Our waiter was amazing. Food was also wonderful. The key lime pie lived up to everything I heard about it! If there's a wait, there's a bar right across the street you can wait at. The bar is cash only, just a heads-up. So many great dishes to choose from! Everyone loved what they ordered. Definitely a must when visiting the island!
This place is super unique. It definitely gives off tourist trap vibes but the service and the food are anything but touristy. In addition they have live music most nights and it was phenomenal. We got the jerk chicken, the shrimp, curry soup and the key lime pie. Curry soup was so good my husband had a second bowl and the key lime pie looked huge but I wish we had gotten two pieces instead of sharing. Overall I would go back and recommend.
We went to Blue Heaven after hearing about indulgent brunch and some of the best key lime pie in Key West. One out of two was correct. The brunch was delicious. Both Husband and I ordered the special omelette, with lobster, bacon, and tomato. The dish was rich and delicious, with an entire lobster tail and plenty of bacon. To top it off, the omelette was accompanied by a slice of banana bread. We were not impressed by the key lime pie. Although the pie looks impressive, topped by a huge mound of meringue, it tasted a bit stale. Its consistency was heavy, and the meringue flavorless. Don't let the pie, however, stop you from going to Blue Heaven. The brunch is great service is friendly, and you can't beat the atmosphere, eating outdoors with the chickens and artwork. Tip: arrive early to avoid a long wait.
Blue heaven is always great. Fun spot. Great staff. Lobster Benedict is always the best choice! Shrimp Benedict is also excellent. Arrival early if you going for breakfast. No reservations! Get a key lime pie!
A friend who has a home in Key West recommended this place. Said it was a must visit spot. Once I visited, she was very correct. She warned me that either you get there early or there may be a bit of a wait. We arrived around 9am, and there was about a 30 min wait. We had a table for 4, if you were waiting for a table of 2, the wait would be longer. The nice thing is there is a little bar/coffee shop across the street with seating. You can order while you are waiting for your table. The place does only take cash though just a small note. You are seated outdoors and surrounded around trees. It is so beautiful and so Key West. The food was amazing. They are known for their lobster breakfast items. I had Lobster and Grit. In my mind I was thinking little diced up lobster but no, it is a full lobster on top of grits and it was amazing. Brunch pricing is reasonable. I was also told they have the best key lime pie, while Its not really my thing, I imagine it is because it is huge and takes up an entire plate! This is totally a spot you need to try to get into if you are in the area.
If you're in Key West and hunting for the ultimate Key Lime Pie, this is an absolute must! The atmosphere is so uniquely local--outdoor courtyard dining, live music, and roosters hanging out while you eat!! We grabbed seats at the bar for a quick stop and ordered a savory shrimp plate with jasmine rice, beans, veggies, and cornbread--super filling and delicious. But you CANNOT leave without trying their famous Key Lime Pie with the massive tower of meringue on top. It's rich, tangy, and 100% worth the trip. Loved everything about this place!
Good brunch with fresh ingredients! This place was a nice old school treat in Key West. The history here is funky rich and interesting and still feels it. There was a wait for tables so you sit across the street at a related patio & bar. Took 20 minutes but ok it's peak season here. The Blue heaven patio is large and good jazzy live music playing. Excellent friendly service was provided. I enjoyed a very tasty omelet with Vermont cheddar and sausage with hollandaise added, a side of homemade banana bread that was tasty. My gal had eggs Benedict with nice thick chunks of ham and a coffee cocktail that was really yummy. This dining experience renewed my hope for old Key West charm, that seems harder to find these days as it's packed and expensive with corporate take over. Blue Heaven is a gem. read more
We went to blue heaven for breakfast. We got the rooster special and the special surf and turf omelette. And of course, a slice of key lime pie! The food was overall pretty good. I would put this in my top 3 key west key lime pies! I would like to go back again for dinner. Try to get in early though as it gets busy fast and the wait gets pretty long. We tried to go all week but everytime we checked the wait was 1 hour. Today we went around 8:30 and got right in. read more

This was a perfect brunch spot! They don't take reservations but have a bar across the street you can wait at and get drinks from while you wait. The Bloody Mary is really good there. It's a super cute vibe with live music and has a nice outdoor seating area. I got the BLT Lobster eggs Benedict that was great. Loved the flavor but wish there was a bit more lobster on it. I would order it again. The iced latte was great as well and our server was attentive to a large bachelorette party. read more

This was such a cool stop. I was hesitant at first because it had a lot of hype but it lived up to it. The food was great, the atmosphere is a lot of fun and they had a great band playing while we were there. Service was fast, and the Key lime pie was definitely up there with the best I've had. Worth a stop! read more

Solid spot but breakfast was a bit disappointed given so many people told us that this is a must do in key west. Banana bread was fabulous - moist, light and excellent. The BLT lobster tomato and bacon Benedict was so so. The lobster was a bit too firm, the tomatoes didn't taste like heirloom tomato from California. Two of us shared this and it was more than enough. Liked the garden ambience and the waitress was really friendly. Recommend the grapefruit juice read more
Go for key lime pie! Did not disappoint. Not overly sweet and the graham crust, lime custard, and the meringue to the clouds were terrific! They do have outside seating and check their socials for hours. They have breakfast and brunch, but then the kitchen closes @ 2:30pm and doesn't reopen until dinner service. However, you can still sit at the outside bar and get cocktails and pie! The menu looks great and we hear they are super popular so maybe challenge getting in for food. The chef announces the dinner special at 5 and it is always changing. The bartender was lovely and very helpful. We had ordered a slice of pie and it appeared within minutes. She was very attentive and friendly. The outside area is great with sand and lots of seating. They have very quirky decor. Great gift shop too! read more
I really enjoyed the service and experience and food at Blue Heaven. Two in my party got jerk chicken and I got the fish special. I opted for beans and rice, since I am gluten free, which were flavorful and good. The server was attentive to my needs knowledgeable about ingredients that werent listed. It was out first food stop on the island and it did not disappoint. read more

Six of us just came to Blue Heaven for their drinks and their amazing Key Lime Pie! It was crazy busy inside. Luckily we were able to find spots at the inside bar. The bartender was fantastic. She was quick taking our drink orders and our drinks were great. We ordered 3 slices of their Key Lime Pie with the sky high meringue. The meringue was done perfectly! It is so lite and airy. Not overly sweet and not heavy tasting. It was just right. The Key Lime Pie filling was delicious too. Another example of something done to perfection. Not overly sweet and just the right amount of lime tartness. Can't get better than this. read more

This place is an absolute MUST if you're in Key West! We ended up coming here twice just because of how good it was. It's completely outdoors and had live music for Sunday brunch. We sat under a mango tree and my fruit bowl included those mangos! Definitely expect a wait, but hangout in the shops nearby because it will be so worth it. And grab a slice of their banana bread! read more

Food is always great here! Every time we visit Key West we eat here. Love the "live"music, service is great and it's very chill. My only complaint is the roosters walk all around the restaurant and use the restroom around the tables which is obviously not appetizing. I know the birds are protected in The Keys, but every other restaurant we eat at doesn't have this problem. read more

My family and I went for our grandparents 50th wedding anniversary, we were very excited as we have heard great things about this restaurant. The food was good, service was good, it was nice. But what wasn't great was the food poisoning that came after. Our family has been twice now and both times someone has gotten food poisoning. Not sure what the issue is, if there's some sort of cross contamination with raw meat, but we will not be back due to this ongoing issue. read more

Just went here for the first time today for brunch. We had to wait one hour but we were able to walk around until then. We all either ordered the shrimp and grits, lobster and grits or the lobster blt sandwich. The key lime pie is also highly recommended. Everything was amazing and the decor is so key west. read more

I had heard so many incredible things about this place and somehow, it exceeded my expectations in every way. It's absolutely adorable in here, both the outside and inside dining area. The first brunch we had, we split the lobster benny which was a brilliant idea. It's a ton of food! Outrageously delicious but very filling. Still, not filling enough to put us off our long-anticipated key lime pie. It really is the best on the island. Moondog Cafe comes in at a very close second for me but this here was BLISS. Died and gone to foodie blue heaven! The cocktails were top tier as was the service all around. When you visit, be sure to head upstairs and check out the peep holes and other rooms. The old safe and shower are so fun too. We went back a second time for brunch but unfortunately I didn't snap a photo of that... it was the Florida shrimp omelet that they only serve on Sundays. Amazing! We devoured it. Their banana bread doubled as a side AND yummy dessert afterwards. I loved everything. All of it. A+++++! read more

Heavily recommended by my followers for history, food, and ambiance and I gotta say it delivered. I was worried when I saw a line outside but was able to sit comfortably at the bar. Excellent bartender that took care of me. Would recommend pairing with the Ernest Hemingway museum! read more

This is a MUST DO in Key West. The food: absolutely delicious, fresh, and perfectly seasoned. The service: incredible. The ambiance: fun and filled with music, chickens, cats, and laughs. I would want my last meal to be here. 10/10! read more
A VERY popular breakfast spot. Be prepared for a wait. We have been to Key West on a few occasions but we tried it for the first time during this trip. It has a small internal area but you want to sit outside and enjoy the art and people watching. Our server was friendly and inviting and had good suggestions. I had a custom egg white omelette with veggies and avocado that was very good. Portions are quite large. I had a side of local spicy sausage that was great and a grapefruit based beverage with Vodka that complemented the dish well. My wife had eggs Benedict with lobster. She really enjoyed it. The Hollandaise sauce was infused with lime zest. We also tried the Key Lime Pie and it was really good. I thought the value was OK but it's Key West. Definitely give this a try when in town. read more

The special today was surf and turf eggs benedict- steak and lobster. The only things I will ever send back at a restaurant are overcooked steak or overcooked poached eggs. The benedict here is highly recommended so I got the surf and turf. This was hands down the absolute best eggs benedict I've EVER had. Everything about it was perfect - the eggs were perfectly runny and the hollandaise sauce was amazing, even the English muffins were soft and cut easily. The lobster and steak combo with the eggs and hollandaise - sublime. I know that unless I come back to Key West I'll never have eggs benedict this good again. read more

Ask the Community - Blue Heaven
I'll be on a cruise is it within walking g distance from the port?
Yes! It's a small island
Can they accommodate large parties?
They may however, the hostess was so rude and the keylime pie was such a let down. Publix makes a better pie. I wouldn't even waste my money
Is it Pet Friendly?
I would think yes because it's mostly outdoor tables but might be an issue because there are lots of chickens and roosters free roaming. I'd be concerned with that and chicken feces. Maybe give them a call directly.
What is the wait like on a Saturday night? We're first timers to key west, only here for one night, and don't want to miss sunset at mallory square!
I would call to check specifics. I believe they only take reservations for large groups.
Where are the closest parking options?
Petronia Street is a small, wonderful food corridor but parking enforcement will ticket cars without residential stickers that are parked in spots marked ‘residential permit.’ Parking is easier to find down along Irma Street, just a block away.…
