Great atmosphere and location. Menu options are great and drag brunch on Saturday's is so fun!!

Currently this place sits at a 2 1/2 star rating which normally would have me steering clear. However, my morbid sense of curiosity got a hold of me thinking that maybe my visit will be better than those one and two star reviews. It's quite apparent they spent some money building this high ceiling modern interior establishment. There's not a lot of street parking available, so you'll probably have to use the parking garage across the way for two dollars an hour. It turns out this place and the Origin Hotel next-door will not validate your parking ticket. We got here during the Monday noon lunch hour rush, and we were the only other couple in the building apart from one person using Wi-Fi in the back. I was surprised that they had such a very limited food menu, although you can order food for your dog. Personally, I think adding dog food to the menu is not exactly a brilliant idea (it conjures all kinds of ideas as to what's going on in the kitchen). We started off with two glasses of water, (no straws and lip prints on rim). I ordered the chocolate shake which came with a nice big straw, but unfortunately it was more like chocolate milk than ice cream and it was $7! I had the Nolan Ryan burger, which comes with one slice of unmelted American cheese and no pickles. It was good, just not amazing. My friend had the fairly salty chicken sandwich. Their fries are actually very tasty. Two things that stand out, they have a full bar with some craft beers along with wine and they actually use real silverware and cloth napkins. Being the only other couple in the place, our service was attentive. At least we can say we didn't fall into the one to two star ranking, but this was not a four or five star experience either. As many other yelpers have already said, there's plenty of other places to try within a short walk of this place, but it works if you're expectations aren't too high. I absolutely love this place! What a gem. Great atmosphere, with outdoor seating if you prefer. Service was excellent, food was great, price was delightful. Breakfast all day! Happy hour was fabulous. Hard to find cocktails for under $10 that are actually good anywhere in Austin these days. Blue Lacy is it! We tried going last night again, but word to the wise, they are closed evenings Tuesday (and Wednesday, I think?) I didn't realize it was part of a hotel until I wrote this review. Very fun yet relaxing and thoughtful decor. Oh - they also do a "buy an adult plate, get child free" as per a sign advertisement. Highly recommend!! read more

I love this breakfast spot. Their double stack of buttermilk pancakes with maple syrup and cinnamon apple compote on the side is a delicious start to your day. I sipped on an oatmilk latte while I waited for my food. It was a bit room temp but delicious nonetheless. My fiancé enjoyed the blue lacy breakfast with chicken sausage. I got a bite of the chicken sausage and it is delicious! I appreciate Blue Lacy's great service, the googie/mid-century modern decor and SpongeBob playing on the TV. read more

We visited Blue Lacy on a Friday evening and we were seated immediately. We were very impressed with their outdoor dining area (which is dog friendly). It was a chilly night, so we sat inside (although they do have fire pits if you choose to sit outdoors). We weren't in the mood for a big meal and split the Texas Fries and clubhouse sandwich between two people. I'd order the Texas fries again and the clubhouse sandwich wasn't bad. Fast and friendly service. If you're in the mood for breakfast for dinner, Blue Lacy has plenty of options. They even have a menu for your pup! read more

Cute cute cute! Blue Lacy is the spacious all-day restaurant for the new Origin hotel in Mueller. The entrance is right across from Lick Ice Cream and B.D. Riley's. There is a really nice, big outdoor seating area with a firepit that will be great for lounging once the weather cools down. The indoor dining area is also fantastic and can accommodate a larger group. This place is great for a casual coffee date, work lunch, or drinks with friends in the evening. The menu has a good amount of options and the atmosphere is awesome. I'll be back soon, I'm sure! I wanted to love this place out of convenience. It's right next to the Thinkery and they serve Lick ice cream- it had all the components to be "our spot" after playing. Unfortunately, just had below average service today and I don't believe we will be back. When we walked in they let us know they were hosting an event outside and in half of the indoor restaurant area- we were fine because it was still early and they had plenty of open tables. When we were finally seated we weren't offered water or drinks for at least fifteen minutes. We had four children, two being impatient toddlers. Thankfully we had snacks on hand but it felt weird having to bring in outside food while we waited for water. We finally got a server over and tried to order from the kids menu for the children that they had handed us. We were then told half the menu was no longer available as it was considered breakfast. But it was very pick and choose. They had waffles but we could not order pancakes...just strange. Normally wouldn't care- but it wasn't specified on the menu they handed the kids. We scrambled to find food we thought they'd eat. This was when our next big wait came- it took forever to bring out the food. Once it arrived my chicken and waffles was cold. I got a side of $7 mashed potatoes that was about the size of an average scoop of ice cream. Getting our check was an entire ordeal and our server seemed to really be avoiding our table but was very attentive to all the others around us. I get it, kids make a dining experience hard. But this restaurant is right next to the kids museum. They have a kids menu. They have high chairs. It almost seemed like the kids were not welcome there at noon on a Thursday. If you're at the Thinkery and are browsing reviews for a place to eat after with your kids- skip this place. Colleen's kitchen was fantastic to us and just a few steps away. Kerbey lane is a short walk down as well...and they are consistently great! read more

We were in town for a conference a few weeks ago (sorry for the late review) and stopped in for early breakfast. Chef Sonya prepared a most excellent bagel egg sandwich with hash browns! First time I had those on an egg bagel and it was delicious. Jim waited on us and he was so interesting and fun to talk to. He made the recommendation on the sandwich and he was so right! Oof. I wanted to love this place. Right next to the Thinkery, super cute vibe, quiet enough. Menu was interesting enough, seemed like there was something for everyone. Service was friendly, but could use some training on things like two bite checkups, making sure everyone at the table had napkins and utensils, and just generally staying nearby in case your table needs you. In addition to most things being burnt, and the bacon tasting like it was cooked in OLD grease, everyone with modifications got incorrect orders. Plain kids pancakes came out with powdered sugar. They actually caught that before bringing it out, but they brought everyone else's food out while our toddler had to wait... Then my daughter was supposed to get sausage instead of bacon. She didn't. They finally brought it out when the rest of us were done and they looked like hockey pucks. My husband was supposed to have cream cheese with his bagel, they forgot it. The kids eggs were filled with black pepper too. Oh yeah, and the kids milk that we asked for with the kids pancakes, was $4. $4 extra for a small cup of cow's milk. We wanted to order coffee after our food arrived, but the server never came back so we didn't. I would absolutely not recommend going to this restaurant when there are so many great options nearby. read more

If you've never been here, it's a must. The decor is modern and chill. The vibe is cool. They have great wine and if you're on a healthy kick like me, you have to try their power bowl. I've had it now with chicken and salmon and you can't go wrong. Jim is the bartender and he's probably one of the coolest guys I've ever met. Chef Gavin did an amazing job on my Power bowl and it looked like the rainbow. Gail is the manager there, and she just adds to the friendly vibe of the entire staff. Definitely a must try. read more

I got breakfast this morning with some friends. The courtyard space is cute and lots of people bring their dogs since there's a small doggy menu. Our server was nice and service was relatively quick. I ordered the Blue Lacy Breakfast with a side of pancakes. The Blue Lacy breakfast was decent. It wasn't terrible but it wasn't great either -- just your run-of-the-mill breakfast plate. The pancakes were decent as well -- fluffy and huge. While waiting for my food, I was checking out the kitchen and saw the chefs opening bags of Eggo waffles which was..interesting. Overall, it was a decent breakfast. But, with so many other great eateries in the area, I wouldn't recommend it to tourists visiting. read more

The outdoor courtyard space with the firepit drew us in... and it was so vibey. There's one of your stars. Then the service was very, very kind. Jessie was an absolute delight and he really helped work around my nephews allergies. GOLD star right there. Foodwise - the burger, the blackened chicken and the chicken fried ribeye were all too salty. The waffles are pre-made, refrigerated and then deep fried - they were hard and dry. My dog goes with me practically everywhere I go so I love a good diner with a pet friendly patio. My favorite part about Blue Lacy has to be the location/it's environment. The Mueller area has to be one of my favorite places to casually walk around on my day off and the Blue Lacy patio is perfect for me and my pup to chill. The first time I had come I had a wonderful experience but this time around didn't quite match it. It took a while for me to get service outside (I had to grab my own menu and go inside to ask for a server) and my waitress had missed some of the usual things like a glass of water, utensils/napkins, and condiments for the food. They serve food for dogs but the portion was very little for my 90 lb dog so I ended up getting her 2 bowls. I ordered myself the Clubhouse sandwich and was honestly a little disappointed with how small and average the food was. I recommend this place more for the location and chill area, but if you're looking for a killer meal, I'd pass this one up. read more

As I was looking for a place to camp out for 30 minutes to an hour before my movie at Alamo Drafthouse, I thought I would try Blue Lacy despite all of the negative reviews I had seen. I walked in and the staff was sitting on the patron barstools and no one was behind the counter. It looked like something similar to a hostel where everyone was just hanging out and feeding themselves. I ordered one drink on an expensive happy hour and left feeling quite uncomfortable as someone was training and being micro-managed while they whipped together some simple syrup...I will not be back. read more

Excellent food and service. Love the ambiance, laid back but looks like a high end diner. All the staff we interacted with were super cool. Bartenders Michael and Franklin were fun to chat with while they were super attentive to all the guests. Food was on point!
