It's places like Blue Line that remind me I should eat quality pizza more often. We ordered a small thin crust Tipsy Pig and garlic bread for two. Online ordering was simple and we were able to set our desired pickup time. Upon arrival, pull into the driveway next to the storefront. There are 3-4 spaces reserved for curbside pickup. Call to let them know you've arrived. The Tipsy Pig was a great choice. The marinated pork was tender and flavorful. The jalapeño didn't pack much heat, so even my bf found it enjoyable (and he has a very mild spice tolerance). The tequila lime crema was *chef's kiss*. The only downsides were the slight greasiness and uneven placement of pork on some slices. But I'd still order again. Can't go wrong with garlic bread. The crust resembles the thickness of regular pizza dough, and the marinara compliments the garlic flavors nicely. Will be back to try more of the menu! read more

Great Chicago style deep dish pizza! Maybe the best in the East Bay (yes, better than Zacharies). Lots of choices for toppings. Crust is thick and golden brown. We ordered delivery from here through DoorDash and had a great experience. The food came quickly and I was pleasantly surprised to see a sticker sealing the box as to avoid tampering. I have never see anyone else do that and though it was a nice touch. Pizza was awesome. I got an Italian Combo and my boyfriend got a deep dish BBQ Chicken. We enjoyed the quality of ingredients very much. The crust on my Italian Combo was golden with a perfect combination of crispy and chewy textures. It held up well to the all toppings piled on top. I use to go to Little Star in the city for some deep dish pizza. My friend told me about Blue Line and said it's their sister company so I decided to try it since it's closer to where my parents live . Hands down best pizza in the East Bay. The crust of the deep dish was my favorite part. This place is 100 times better than Zachary's deep dish. I live in Socal now so I ordered an extra pizza to take back with me. When I got to my parents my whole family ate it my extra pizza so I drove back and ordered two more pizzas to take home because it was that good. Definitely worth a try if you like deep dish Chicago style . I also got a thin crust 1/2 cheese 1/2 pepperoni pizza which was also great. Staff was extremely nice and friendly . Wow! And wow! Pleas keep in mind I am not a deep dish pizza aficionado...but I know good food when I eat it. And this pizza was off the hook. It wasn't extremely but full of taste. And from what I know about deep dish pizza, topping in the bottom and sauce in the top, this was pretty legit! The Aphrodite has Greek olives, artichoke hearts, and feta cheese. Probably more that I've forgotten . The crust was really crispy, which surprised me, but when saved for last and drizzled with honey as suggested by the waiter, it was delicious!! The Italian combo was also so good! I loved being able to eat a meat pizza that was not super greasy. But only delicious The toppings were on the bottom and the sauce on the top. The bottom layer of cheese was super tasty! And it was layered with Italian meats, salami and ...well I don't quite remember, but it was delicious! The cáptese salad was also really fresh and delicious. At first I noticed it was made with Roma tomatoes and sort of scoffed, but my boyfriend reminded me of the available tomatoes now. And it had epic mozzarella cheese and fresh basil. Also the plate was still Ed very liberal with olive oil and balsamic vinegar. The shashito grilled peppers were perfectly grilled. Served with a sour cream or creme fresh...super refreshing. The beers on tap were not as plentiful, but, they had a decent bottle selection. We have eaten here before but fir dinner. This time five of were there for lunch. It was a one man show. The guy took orders, brought beers, made the pizzas, served etc etc. Fortunately it was not too crowded but the wait was still too long and ruined the mood. Went to this pizza pub for early dinner before a hair appointment. It was so yummy and fun I just scheduled next month to allow me the time for another pizza. My rating moved from a 4 to a 5 for 2 reasons. Try the beers on tap. What a variety! I even liked the stout but chose the orange wheat beer to pair with the wild mushroom thin crust recommended by Sean. Nothing too special - the crust was a bit hard, and sizes were a lot smaller than I would've liked. The margherita was decent in flavor, but again the bread just wasn't it. BBQ sauce was drizzled on top of the pizza, and it was not too flavorful. Pork toppings were tough and bland as well. Couldn't tell where it was coming from, but there was some spice that seemed to build up over time either in the sauce or the pork, and it wasn't too desirable. Service is exceptionally understanding, however - When we got the wrong order for one of our pizzas, the kitchen made us the correct one again. This review is 100% service based. I had a very disappointing experience at Blue Line Pizza restaurant. We walked into the restaurant at 7:30 pm and waited to be seated. A woman with long brown hair asked us monotonously if she could help us. It's obvious what we were there for since we were waiting at the hostess podium. It's not like we were there for bird watching. :) She said they closed at 8:00 pm, and after that, no one person made eye contact with us or provided any alternatives. She was uninterested in helping us and was too busy cleaning the bar. I understand it takes time to clean and close the restaurant, but her vibe was off-standish and cold. We left after it was apparent they were not interested in helping us. We left and went to Danville Brewery, where the team was cordial and welcoming. We'll continue to go back to DB not only because we like the food but because of the warmth from their team. What's my point? I don't leave negative reviews because opinions are like a**holes; everyone has one, right? I also don't believe that because I'm a customer, I'm always right or that people in the service industry should be treated less than others, but her prickly attitude is why I'm writing. You can be the problem or the solution, and because of one person, she is the problem. I'm an executive in a financial firm, and we go above and beyond for all our clients 100% of the time. We come from a place of gratitude and make our clients feel acknowledged. Perhaps this woman forgot how long a professional, warm attitude can go. She seemed like management since it seemed like everyone followed her lead. I hope her life is going well, and I'm sure that BLP will be just fine. Best deep dish on the west coast!! I drive 45 minutes from another city just to have this pizza.

They're like rabbits, 7 locations in all throughout the area, an example of success that they are doing something right. Banging menu, and lovely front outdoor patio. Yes! Last year, I ate at another location, Burlingame. I like the feeling of that location better, but I ordered the deep dish and darn near hated it. I wanted Chicago-style, and although it looks like it, it's far from it. It's a modern version made from corn meal so it's like a corn bread but not smooth, with little hard bits and served with honey. Frankly, in my opinion, it's just wrong. This version would have the founder of deep dish rolling over in their grave (RIP, Uno's original pizza chef Rudy Malnati) But it was time to try the location in Danville. A few days ago, still, with COVID-19 running somewhat amuck, you can sit outside on their patio, and do what we all do best. EAT! Service was minimal, slow, and inefficient. But it's not a time to complain when all businesses are just trying to stay afloat while America makes a comeback. Still, the 2-person crew outfront was nice and friendly service, so they get a pass. Thin crust on my mind (and soon, in my belly): ==================================== Mushroom and truffle, add Pepperoni [$31.80, 4.5 stars] -- amazing crust with bite and flavor, very thin but not too much. We've ordered pizza here about 4 or 5 times now,, umm maybe more, without taking the time to post. My family loves Blue Line, so much we ordered pizza to cater a baby shower event for our kids. We received many inquiries for "where did you get this pizza ??" I've found myself just walking into the restaurant and ordering off the Sidewalk board specials too. We were looking for a place to go with our picky eaters. Of course they do love pizza... and this spot has great reviews. No calling ahead for a table made me nervous on a Sat night. Our server was great. We did get a table right away, but it was inside, and right next to a very large table. The room was very loud. The large party did not arrive til the end of our meal, at which point we could not hear each other at all. Their food varied from great to no-go. Slaw Salad was delicious ... great variety of veggies with a clean tasting lemon dressing. Kids pan pizzas got all 5 stars. Blue Line, you have won me over. They make the best deep dish pizzas in the bay! Deep dish takes about 25 minutes. It may seem like a long time, but trust me, it will be worth the wait. Even hangry me was willing to wait. Some of my favorites are Brass Monkey (Blue Line with sausage) and Free Bird. I think some people don't care for deep dish because it's too tomatoey, but Blue Line really packs in the different ingredients. Every bite literally had me doing my happy dance, like Pooh Bear when he's about to eat. Speaking of Pooh, make sure you squeeze lots of honey onto your plate to dip the cornmeal crust in! Who doesn't love Pizza! I know I do. I'm a huge fan of getting a slice. This place is way better then all chain places I have gone to. The server was really nice; they have a pretty good open bar. They have inside and outside seating. Would be cool to bring you doggie and sit outside. This is located in the main strip in San Ramon; so parking can be a bit limited. We brought the whole fam here; it was really good. We did it family style and shared pizza. Always hard to get people what they want. I'm not a super picky person. I don't have an issue just picking off toppings I don't want. I didn't part take in the devils nectar of alcohol refreshments that was being served here but they had a very large selection of that. The pizza was a bit greasy as most pizza is but the crust was good. I liked it over all. Again it's in San Ramon so the price is going to be a bit higher. So note that; they are limited seating so go during none peak hours.. ie Lunch if you want to get a good table and not have to wait. read more

What a let down. No stools or patrons at the bar during a Warrior game, but we wanted a table anyway. The bar half of the restaurant was dedicated to pallets of cardboard and stacks of pizza boxes with a massively ridiculous "take home table". We ordered and paid off a QR code. Zero attention from servers except a carafe of water and their out of order, spotty food delivery. The front door was left open while it was cold outside, the TV was on soccer.....for the absentee workers. Despite all this Covid theater, workers in the cardboard area were rolling utensils into napkins maskless. We felt like we were unwanted patrons eating in a cold cafeteria at a warehouse. What better than our favorite place being in Danville?! We have been fans for Blue Line Pizza for a while pretty much trying everything vegetarian they have to offer. I have Celiac and have enjoyed eating their GF pizza for a few years. I am sorry to say that on October 22 I ordered a gluten free pizza and even told the server to please let the kitchen know it's for someone with Celiac and take extra precautions. Well they brought us our pizza, we ate it and hours later I was in HELL. They served us a regular crust pizza. DO NOT eat at Blue Line pizza if you have celiac disease. They do not take it seriously and when I contacted them, all I got was a weak apology. They have no system in place to identify GF food coming out of their kitchen. Stay away!!! read more

For my 400th review, I had to try Blue Line Pizza in Danville. We ordered a large Classic deep dish pizza (sausage, mushrooms, bell peppers, mozzarella, and marinara sauce). Just like true Chicago style pizza, it had a cornmeal crust that held out like a plank when holding it with one hand only. The pizza was absolutely delicious! The last time we went to Chicago, we had pizza 3 out of 4 days. So I always compare pizzas to the ones I had in Chicago. Blue Line Pizza is authentic and definitely makes the best Chicago style pizza in the Bay Area! I think it easily beats out Zachary's. Overall grade: A+ read more
