Made a trip to San Ramon on a weekday off, specifically because we'd recieved this mailer several times through the months regarding lunch buffet specials and always had our eye on it. The coupon is for the San Ramon location and specifies the Monday-Thursday lunch buffet deals. When we walked in around lunchtime, the lights were dimmed, there was one party eating, but otherwise it was unclear how to be seated or served. There wasn't any hostess stand nor anybody at the cashier, but after peering around for a moment we found a bell to ring. About a minute later an employee came from the back, waved at us to wait, and then reappeared later. We found it not so welcoming that there was no apology for the wait. When we asked for the lunch buffet, the employee said they didn't have one. We were pretty surprised given the mailer and upon presenting the coupon, he clarified that they didn't have the buffet yet but maybe it would start later, he wasn't sure - maybe in January? Again there was no apology or acknowlegement of the confusion. While the idea of trying lots of fusion pizza flavors drew us to Tandoori Pizza, the lack of professionalism and service, as well as integrity with the mailer about a deal that did not exist, prompted us to leave and find our lunch elsewhere. read more

Our favorite pizza spot! We mainly order for pick up. Easy to order online. When we have time we eat at the restaurant and the ambiance is chill and have plenty of mounted tv to watch your spots. It's clean and has pool tables and a few games for the kids. The pizza is always crispy and perfectly evenly filled with toppings. We always get half tandoori and combination. I'll start the review by prefacing that I actually enjoy the food. If you are coming just for food and you don't care about anything else at all, then this is the place for you. However, be prepared to be met with attitude by the workers. I was sitting on a pool table waiting for a friend to come in when a worker comes up to me and just stares at me with a disgusted look. He didn't verbally tell me to get off the pool table, just motioned at me and gave me a dirty face. There was no signage saying that I shouldn't be sitting on the pool table so I was unaware at the time. I would have gladly gotten off the pool table and would not have written this review if the worker had directly told me WITH HIS WORDS to get off instead of giving me vague and confusing signals with an extremely inappropriate demeanor. To make matters more confusing, there was a group of five or six kids running around the restaurant climbing all over the other pool table and causing a ruckus which this worker clearly SEES but SELECTIVELY IGNORES. This is the third Tandoori Pizza we've visited, and it's a delight to find that the quality and consistency we've come to expect from Tandoori Pizza is maintained throughout the chain! Out of the blue we were craving the unique flavors we have come to expect from Tandoori Pizza's line of Indian influenced pizza. So while running errands in Walnut Creek, we decided to head to the nearest chain on the map, which was the San Ramon branch. We don't spend much time in this part of the East Bay, but Google Maps had us there is about 18 minutes from Walnut Creek. This branch was located in one of the more upscale strip malls found in San Ramon. We ordered ahead online and our pizzas were ready on arrival. It was the night of the 49ers playoff for the Super Bowl, and the inside was filled with patrons watching the big game on every big screen in the restaurant. This Tandoori Pizza has a great sports bar vibe, with big screens, pool table, group tables, and some crane games and other games in a corner of the place. Service was friendly, and the host even handed us a fresh bottle of creamy garlic sauce for added flavor on our pizzas. I got the lamb kebab pizza and hubby got his usual tandoori chicken pizza with cauliflower crust. Like every other pizza we've ever gotten from Tandoori Pizza, our pizzas had crisp, hot crusts, abundant flavorful toppings, and a flavor we just can't find at any other pizza spot in the Bay Area. It's absolutely a unique flavor, and really mixes it up with other more "typical" pizzas you can find anywhere. And of course we added the creamy garlic sauce on top. We noticed this chain had a few Indian pizza combos we hadn't seen in the other branches, like the aloo (potato) pizza and a Malai Paneer pizza. So that was a nice discovery to know there were a few unique offerings here. We're happy to have added yet another Tandoori Pizza to our lineup and look forward to returning. read more

I enjoyed them both! The pizza was made with quality ingredients and was perfectly baked. I had a mango lassi to drink, which was satisfying after a hot day. The staff were all very polite and courteous. I did not expect much since the order was taken at the counter, a table number was given and we found a seat. The gentleman that took our order brought us plates, utensils and napkins and checked on us a couple of times. This location can accommodate many people. They have outdoor seating as well. They had multiple large flatscreen tv's and football was on a few of the screens. They had pool tables and games. It wasn't busy at the time we went, but I imagine it may get busy if people go to watch a game. They had a bar with beer and wine. I didn't get a good look to see if they had hard liquor. If you like Indian food and liquor pizza, Tandoori Pizza is an excellent choice. read more

If there were a circle of food-service hell dedicated to chaos, confusion, and overcharging, this place would be running it. I've had bad delivery experiences before, but nothing like this. We ordered a simple meal -- nothing complicated -- and somehow ended up receiving extra pizzas we never wanted, followed by a bill that looked like it had been inflated on purpose. When we called to resolve it, the explanations made less and less sense by the minute, as if they were hoping we'd just give up and accept the extra charges. The whole experience left me feeling misled, dismissed, and completely disrespected as a customer. No one should have to argue just to be charged correctly for what they actually ordered. The food itself didn't save the experience either. After everything that happened, even opening the boxes felt like a reminder of how unnecessarily stressful this order became. At this point, based on how we were treated, I honestly feel like this place deserves to be investigated, because no customer should walk away feeling the way we did. In my opinion, the way they handled our order was so unacceptable that it made me think, "How is this even allowed to happen?" I genuinely believe this business needs serious oversight or accountability. Check every item, check every charge, and be prepared for disappointment. I will absolutely never be ordering from here again. This place will shut down soon and will be sued. read more

Can't get enough of their fusion pizza. Who knew Indian, Italian and American would create culinary nirvana. First tried this type of pizza during the 2020 COVID lockdown. Work would occasionally pay for Door Dash lunches for staff. Would never have tried this "strange" mashup if it wasn't free. Today I don't think this food is strange. Now think it is chef's kiss. And locally, Tandoori Pizza does it best. Just tried another new flavor, their Desi garlic chicken on thin crust. Good but not as tasty as the lamb. Packed full of toppings, this was a value winner. Have had chicken on pizzas at other restaurants where the chicken is overcooked, dry, tough and stringy. Not here. Big chunks of chicken, tender and juicy. The pizza had fresh green peppers called hari mirch. Per the internet, they are supposed to have about the same spice level as a serrano or arbol. Cooking it on the pizza must have mellowed out the heat. It didn't taste spicy at all. The pizza was a bit greasy. Still ate it but definitely used up a lot of napkins. Maybe it was from the chicken or cheese. Also while the cheese melted nicely, the pizza lacked a salty element. Next time will ask for grated Parm to sprinkle on. Still wish they would upgrade and switch to a lighter Neapolitan or New York style dough. Barring that, thin is the way to go over the traditional crust. It eliminates the doughy heaviness of the thicker crust. But that very quality makes it sturdy enough to support all the toppings. Haven't tried the cauliflower or gluten-free crusts so that's next on the agenda. read more

This place has recently opened up so the place doesn't have a sign yet so it may be hard to spot. But they banners on both the parking lot and street side. The interior is nicely decorated and lots of indoor seating space if you want to dine in. The service was prompt and got us our order in 15 min (we dined in) The pizza was phenomenal with the perfect amount of spice and savoriness. I think this place has some of the best Indian pizza especially since their crust is such a perfect thickness level where it can hold all the material and still have that crunch at the bottom. Went to try out Tandoori Pizza in San Ramon located in the Safeway shopping center in Gale Ranch. Tandoori Pizza occupies a separate pad space directly facing Safeway. Tuesday lunch, not busy only one dine in table. Ordered by phone and told 40 minutes. Arrived on time looks like a one man show no one in the front. The cook was in the kitchen making pizza but came out fast to take my credit card and hand me the pizza. I got 1/2 tandoori chicken and 1/2 achari chicken xtra large. $38. Lots of toppings and both were slightly spicy. The pizza dough / crust was thicker then other Indian pizza's. Personally, I like a thinner crust pizza but it wasn't bad. 4 stars. The store was clean and the pizza was ready on time. Plenty of parking in the Safeway center. The pizza is definitely filling. read more
