We had my friends bridal shower at Blue Mesa and it did not disappoint. We started off with bottomless mimosas which were hitting! Then we indulged in their buffet. Omg Blue Mesa Monfort Addison Texas. Had 12:30 reservations for 5 waited 15 minutes to be seated. Not bad busy day. Then for Mother's Day it was a brunch with lines for food around the building , unable to order from menu. Stood in line for 45 minutes and still no food took 89 year old Mom to another restaurant. As we did not have hear waiting in a line with no social distancing. Really you are better than this. Horrible experience no social distancing and no real experience for the Mom on Mother's Day. read more

The food? Fantastic. Our server? High and MIA. We kept flagging down Jose (who we thought was our server [he wasn't]) when we needed something. Turns out, our server was Remi. The only times Remi came to our table were: 1. When Jose told him he needed to take care of his tables and pointed out that he'd never once been to our table. At that time, he finally delivered the drink we'd ordered 15-20 minutes earlier from Jose (who immediately gave Remi the order). 2. When he brought the check and tried to walk away, but, my husband quickly shoved his card into Reno's hand instead of taking the receipt. Remi didn't say a single word the entire time. The final interaction with Remi was after my husband had to ask Jose for his card because Remi was, once again, MIA. Jose, who we found out is actually a newer employee there, found Remi and told him my husband needed his card back. Several minutes later, my husband finally had to walk up front and ask two other servers to find Remi so that he could get his card back. Turns out, Remi had LOST THE CARD. Where did he lose it? IN THE CARD READER WHERE THE RECEIPT WAS STILL WAITING (picking up on the high vibes?). Was he super busy and just forgot? No. He was just walking in random patterns and doing nothing. That is the only time in my entire life or my husband's entire life when we've left $0 tip for our server. Don't worry. We took care of Jose. If it weren't for Jose being a rockstar and the good food, there would be one star (and only because you can't leave zero). The new location is beautiful and a step up from the other place. The restaurant is huge! I recommend coming here during the happy hours, they offer free food at the bar, and their drinks are pretty good. This is also one of the great spots for a brunch!!! read more

The Mother's Day brunch buffet was so crowded that it was shoulder to shoulder and then standing in long lines. Two people walked up to the mother in front of me n just started serving themselves without asking if I was ok with it. I'm 71 years old and a mother too. Second the quality of food has gone way down for $40. My son got an omelet some potatoes, biscuit n coffee for $40. Not worth it. Don't go on any brunch there. So disappointed. read more

We had visited Blue Mesa Grill Addison for a company outing. They have a beautiful new location (opened up about a year ago) in Addison, including an amazing patio with a round table surrounding a blue crystal fireplace. They created the perfect ambiance by moving across the street and renovating a building to their standards. Our server, who I wish I had caught her name, was very attentive, but not overly attentive - just the right amount. They have a large selection of tequila, including a personal favorite Partida - they have all 3 varieties too - blanco, reposado, and añejo, generally running about $10.50 per drink (which is a great value, as most places can charge $14+) Their margaritas are made with a homemade lime mix with fresh squeezed lime juice and fresh agave. Wow - I was blown away as it tasted absolutely amazing. I can't speak for the food, yet. I just will have to go back next time and try more and review again. read more

Blue Mesa on Monfort catered my Eclipse Party on 08April for 35 and every aspect of the planning and delivery was wonderful. I worked with Jo, the catering lady, and she was thorough and so very helpful. The food was delish and Juan came to my house and set up everything including decorations...then he returned and collected all the service items..which were included. I've seen some negative reviews complaining about long waits; I personally did not experience anything like this when I arrived around 5 pm on a Friday. Been exploring different happy hour spots in the Addison area and this is my favorite by far! You really can't top $4 blue margaritas and the complimentary quesadilla bar. Fresh quesadillas are made for you right on the spot. I really need to bring cash next time to tip the cooks and bartenders for their great service. Drinks and quesadillas both tasted amazing. Visiting family for Easter and wanted to have brunch somewhere with some Tex-mex flair. Our family member made a reservation here and when we arrived at our scheduled time we faced a long line to get to the hostess. Heard people around us grumbling about the wait time. The place was so packed that I suspect they may have been breaking fire code for the number of people that should be allowed in the building. We could see that there were lines at every buffet station. Finally got to speak to the hostess after about 10 minutes and found out we would have a 45 minute wait even though we had a reservation. What the heck? We left and went down the road where we had a wonderful meal, great service, and no wait. Will never attempt to eat here again. read more

Best Brunch in Dallas? ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! The reviews are soooo misleading. Granted Blue Mesa only has a 3 star solid rating but the individuals who ranted and raved about the brunch made it sound like the gospel. Disappointing is an understatement. My apartment community did a special "resident appreciation" event at Blue Mesa and the brunch buffet ran a total of $12 per person instead of the dreaded $22. I don't see how anyone pays the $22/pp fee. I mean, nothing had seasoning. From the potatoes, to the salmon, to the corn, to the sautéed veggies. I mean nothing! Mimosas and poinsettias are unlimited but the champagne is so cheap, expect a migraine a couple of hours later. The patio has a nice touch but your back will hate you because the chairs are so dang uncomfortable. I bet I sound like a Negative Nancy........ Ok, so it wasn't alllll bad. They get a couple points for having such an array of food options. Belgian waffle and omelet station to the fried chicken and tamale pies. The sweet potato chips mixed with the tortilla chips make for a harmonious salty/sweet accompaniment when salsa dipping as well. The lunch/dinner entrees taste a little better than their brunch but I still won't be returning. read more

What can I say, HAPPY HOUR !! Yep, that is the only time I actually visit Blue Mesa, it's something like a norm around these parts to go to places for HH initially. I always order a blue margarita & fest on the free Quesadilla bar with chips & salsa. However, the last time I went we were introduced to the margarita swirl, margarita with sangria & a shot all mixed in one. Let me tell you...it's a WINNER! And for only $5 you cant beat that. Ultimately, I think HH is the best thing about Blue Mesa so hopefully they don't change it up. Also this location is in an ideal location in regards to professionals working in Addison or nearby looking to kick-back after work with friends/co-workers! read more

Its a great place to go if you have no where else to go for brunch. The food is good and there is a good variety of food and desserts! Im just not super in love with it. I went to the one in Addison so Im not sure how other locations are. I gave it four stars because the place is clean, the food was hot and the servers were really nice. Definitely give it a try! They have a good selection of Brazilian food including breakfast garbage (chicken, potatoes, pork, peppers), custom omelette made while you wait, adobe pie ( taste like tamales) , waffles, fried chicken, corn torilla soup, salad bar, dessert bar, and more! 3 stars for good variety and flavor. I was initially excited that Blue Mesa temporarily brought back the quesadilla bar, does a good happy hour and sends out emails to "chileheads." I visited several times during March. 3-4 occasions to be exact. Management and servers are generally nice and the gentleman making quesadillas is an absolute prince. However, the last few times - specifically my last visit (but the times before there were signs) I have been unimpressed. Disappointed. Getting drinks made and served in a timely fashion (I have lots of patience for the service and restaurant industry) has been difficult. Even receiving the bill and processing the check itself was a chore. I was overcharged last time and brought it to the server's attention - it seems as if happy hour was not honored but there was an appetizer on my bill that should not have been - when I brought that to his attention - he immediately knew this but responded with he "forgot" to charge me for another item, which of course was cheaper than the one I was charged for, so it looked like a "gotcha." There is a lot of ambiguity on the happy hour - your Addison location does not have draft beers so you should be honoring domestic bottled beer at draft prices. However, none of this mattered as much as I often ask to have sports games on. There were about 10-15 customers in the entire restaurant. I asked for the Dallas Mavericks to be put on that eve. I'd think BM would not only be happy to do that but maybe even grateful that I alerted them to a local sporting event / TV that might draw more customers in or have some stay longer. Well, it took about a half hour. BM has some beautiful new screens in the dining area that were tuned into sitcoms and nightly news that nobody was watching. It's always "I don't think we get that channel." Or some other excuse. I asked my server to get the game on and he said he would "take care of it." Well, 15 mins later I'm still waiting, game is prob in 2nd quarter so I walk around the restaurant and ask him again. I was told "well, I'm kind of busy, I have some other tables, but I'll send the MGR over . . . " I'm like 'really'??? So, I wait a bit longer, what seemed like an eternity, and to the MGR credit she was tending bar, too, but this is not how you treat a customer. We all have bad days. But I'm not eating nor drinking for free. She did come over, changed the channel (finally, and I did not dare ask for closed captioning (like the other TV program had) which would've been nice), and I thanked her, to which a response of "uh huh" was given to me. As if I was being done a gigantic favor. What an "inconvenience." Please don't mistake my kindness for weakness. I could not have been more polite. I've been supporting blue mesa for decades, a regular at the old Addison location across the street and the new one, as well as the double decker on NwHwy near northpark mall that I liked and miss. I've been a customer pre covid, during covid and post covid (now). The food was on point. The TV screens are there. I generally tip 25-30% and even did that eve as well. Let's not mess this up. Meh. It's been a hit minute since I've been to any Blue Mesa, but I don't remember it being like this. A professional event led me here with a coworker a few weeks ago and we initially stopped off at the bar while we waited for the event to start. Bummed they had no ginger ale, went for a rum and ginger beer while my coworker went for pineapple vodka with soda water both of ours were pretty much 90% liquor lol. Ayyy. The food at the event was lukewarm. The queso was very thick, fajita meat a bit tough, and water refills were few and far between. The back room that is closed in by a glass door gets very got and stagnant. My stomach was upset most of the night after the event. Besides our recent, this place was DEAD at 6:30pm. We had high hopes for this location, since we love the Plano Blue Mesa! Post Covid, the restaurant was practically empty and still had to wait over 45 mins to be seated for brunch! And it's a buffet brunch, so the servers don't get that busy! During our 45 mins wait, we saw over 30 people leave and no one called up for a table! The food was dry, the chips stale, supplies were low at the buffet, our waiter only atteneded to our table once the entire time of our brunch and overall horrible service even with the low numbers of guest. Spoke with the manager and all we got were lame excuses. We will stick with the Blue Mesa in Plano and never return to the Addison one ever again. They're in dire need of management who knows how to serve the customer and organize. Very poor management skills there now! read more

Could not be more disappointed in complete lack of service on this Saturday morning. We had reservations for 11:00, but reservations don't matter. They seated parties with no reservations before us. They have tables open but won't seat us bc they have only one server - it's a buffet on the day before Mother's Day! As for me, this is poor management compounded by rudeness. So I'm here with my bestie for Happy Hour. Each time I come here the service is usually is great; however, today is the opposite. For the past 30 minutes we've been waiting for the SAAAME one drink we ordered since. They have one guy working the entire happy hour side which is ridiculous seeing as though there's a bunch of folks here. The quesadilla bar is what usually brings folks out. Some friends and I went at 10am on Saturday.... no hostess greeting you, no cook at the omelette station, just a few waitstaff wondering around. If you open at 10, you should be ready to serve customers at 10. After waiting 20 mins at the waffle / omelette station, I asked the waitress if someone could make me a waffle. I heard her ask a cook and he snapped "You make it!". Food was mediocre at best. Not much of a brunch selection- no bacon, no sausage. Coffee was bitter.
