Here's the thing: when Mi Cocina is good, it's GREAT! But when it's not good, it's just the pits. Recently I've had 2 visits spread a few weeks apart. The first visit was 5 stars all the way, and the second was 1 or 2 star territory. Same location, but different experiences. The first experience I had the Spinach Enchiladas and a Pineapple Agua Fresca. This meal was straight up 5 stars! Every aspect of both the meal and the drink were perfect. The Spinach Enchiladas were jam-packed full of delicious vegetables. It was an insanely large portion, but really hit the spot. The vegetables were grilled and had some nice flavors. Along with the lime rice- this was a home run! The Agua Fresca was the perfect complement. It wasn't too sweet and was a nice alternative to a soda. Flash forward about 3 weeks later and I come back. This time I had the same drink, the Pineapple Agua Fresca and changed entrees to the The El Rey's Plate. Both were just okay. The flavors in the Agua Fresca just seemed thrown together and not properly muddled, while the items on the El Rey's plate tasted too oily. It was a far cry from the spectacular meal I had just a few weeks before. Not sure why there was such a big difference in the quality of the meals, but I know Mi Cocina is capable of a true 5 star level experience, but for whatever reason, the effort is inconsistent. I'll give them a rest for now, but I'll be back at some point. I know they can do better! read more

I really enjoyed lunch here! I've had Mi Cocina Food Truck at the Perot Museum before and it honestly was very disappointing but coming to the resturant today was a completely different story. The service was so great!!! I ordered the sunset style chicken fajitas and they were delicious. We also order the mama's taco with veggies instead of rice and beans. The salsa tasted fresh. Also mi cocina is really know for there Mambo Taxi drinks. It can be a little pricey for the usual Tex mex food but it is tasty and great service!! read more

Came for lunch with some coworkers. There's a lunch menu with very reasonable prices. It's now dinner time and I'm still so full from my meal! We got there right when they opened so we had no wait. I ordered the lunch chicken enchiladas. Chicken was tender and flavored just right. Food came out pretty fast, which is great for lunch times. I couldn't stop eating the chips and salsa. The chips were so crispy and the salsa had a little spice. Service was great and friendly. Very attentive with our table of four. It's not a big location right off Dallas Parkway, but very convenient for the surrounding businesses. Plenty parking. read more

I LOVE Mi Cocina! Some of the best salsa ever! Garlicky and spicy! The chips are very good and not super thin. The guacamole is not over seasoned. It's just right. They have chili con queso and queso blanco. Both are good. Their enchiladas are so delicious! I personally love chicken enchiladas with sour cream sauce and cheese enchiladas. So delicious. The tacos a great also. They have a chili relleno that's not on the menu. It's chicken and cheese and I love it! It comes with ranchero sauce and I prefer queso, and they let me make that substitution. It's is really good. They also have great fajitas and quesadillas. The ceviche is great. They have great lunch specials during the week. The service is always good and everyone is friendly. It's reasonably priced and a nice environment to dine. read more

Food: I got the Texas Redfish and my waitress had them make me a Long Island. The size of the fish was small. It started out delicious and fizzled after. The vegetables were good but cold, parts hot and parts cold which didn't make sense. The only positive is the service. Very friendly host, before we could even sit down they brought chips and salsa and we were greeted for drinks by our waitress in a span of 3 minutes. It was on a Friday night at 6:30pm. My waitress was attentive. I will unfortunately try another location for their food quality. To pay $26 dollars and still leave hungry is wild. read more

This is a really good restaurant and serves a better quality of food than the standard Tex-Mex fare. Our waitress, Marlene, was stellar! She did a great job. I would give five stars, but there are two areas which could use improvement. The margarita was good, but for the size it wasn't $14 good. A true Dallas staple!! It is extremely hard to mess up ordering drinks or food here. The margaritas are a hit and my personal favorite is a frozen skinny margarita with a tajin rim!!! The service is consistent and you can always count on the serving staff to meet your needs. With some of the most classic and best queso in the area, the chips are fresh and delicious! The crispy enchiladas are my favorite dish and the cilantro rice is a percent accompaniment for this dish!! Another staple is the quesadillas (although the meat portions have gotten much smaller) it is still delicious and worth it!!! read more
