NY strip special
Carrie S.

I'm staying at the hotel and decided to eat here after my long drive. The service was awesome. Very friendly and accommodating. The wine list is decent with a mix of local and others. I ordered the soup special which was scallop chowder. Nice chunks of scallops and potatoes. A little bland but a good choice. For my entree I ordered the NY strip special. It was cooked perfectly. The bourbon sauce was a little too sweet for my liking. The loaded mashed potatoes were incredible. I enjoyed everything. I recommend if you just want to hang out at the hotel and chill after a long day.

Ahi Tuna with wild rice and bok choy

The Ahi Tuna was perfectly prepared and a vert large portion. The complimentary bread and olive tapenade was great as well. Our server was courteous and quick.

The restaurant had a cute interior and a lovely view of the ocean. The service was attentive and quick. Food was very average, I ordered the crab cake sandwich and was unimpressed. Overall, a good pit stop for lunch, but the food isn't spectacular.

I have changed my mind from my earlier reviews. Get the Seafood Scampi! Service was great, ambience was great.

Chocolate covered cherries...complementary!

Enjoyed dinner with friends Saturday evening. Great service! Our server (I think Ashley--couldn't see her name from where I was sitting)--was so friendly and attentive! Lemon drop martini was delish! My hubby and I had the special...petite filet mignon served over a sun-dried tomato Alfredo pasta. Steak was perfectly cooked and seasoned, but the pasta could have used a little more salt or grated parm?? Just a tiny bit bland. There is no side served with it, nor salad, which would have been nice at $47.50...but all in all a nice meal. We started with the charcuterie board which another yelper recommended and that was large and had a very nice selection. Desserts were ok. Our friends enjoyed their meal--he cleaned his plate and she took leftovers--which she said were enough for 2!! Oh!!! And she's gluten free! They offer gf pasta! A smidge over priced but probably not for the location, right at the base of Seneca Lake!

We enjoyed this restaurant a great deal: the drinks were very good, and the waiter was attentive. We enjoyed everything we ordered- crab cake sandwich was one of the best I've ever had. I can't wait to have it again. Perfect stuffed dirty martinis! Not easy to find.

Food is nothing special. Usual foods.... I think. View is pretty good if you can have a window side seat.

My wife and I had a very good lunch here. Great outdoor patio with fire pits and view of the lake. Salad with salmon was nicely done.

Great breakfast spot, right by the water. Wife says "it's the perfect meal before a full day of drinking".

We discussed what I wanted and then she recommended local wines to pair with my meal. Everything here is farm-to-table and the quality of the ingredients are what stood out in this experience. I started off with an order of the house sourdough bread. Nothing fancy, but everything I wanted. For an appetizer, I ordered the PEI Muscles as recommended by my waitress. These were Prince Edward Island mussels, cilantro and garlic in a red curry cream sauce served with warm baguettes. This was incredible. The flavors, the sauce, the crispy bread, it all went so well together. For my main I ordered the Duck Margaret. Dry rubbed duck breast, rosemary polenta, asparagus, pickled celeriac, and a side of ancho chili sauce. This dish was on their specials menu for the day however I have seen it listed on their website previously. The duck was tender and juicy, the asparagus cooked to perfection, and the polenta took this dish over the top. For me, I was not loving the ancho chili sauce, so I was very thankful to have this on the side. Graft is currently rated a 9.9 on my Beli and this is all thanks to their excellent service and the fresh high quality ingredients they use to prepare their food.

Didn't mind too much because we didn't have to be anywhere though so enjoyed savoring our drinks and people watching since we were on the sidewalk. Perfect fall night for just that. For cocktails, we got the Lakewood sparkling And a glass of red wine. The sparkling went great with the Mussels we got for our appetizer. Also enjoyed our entrées of Halibut and Chicken. The halibut was definitely better and more interesting. The chicken was fine just not as much flavor. Probably wouldn't order it again.

Great place to grab drinks and food while sitting by the lake…read more It was a nice warm spring afternoon and the tables on the patio were open for customers even though the patio wasn' t "officially" open. Service was very friendly and accommodating. We'd visited the original location multiple times in the past, but the Watkins Glen location right on the lake is great. A nice variety of craft beer and cocktails are on the menu and flights are available even outside. The food menu has a good variety of items and everything being served around us looks tasty. We snacked on the poutine, which was loaded with gravy and very good. Lucky Hare produces a solid line-up of beers that include a variety of styles from IPA & Bitters to Stoudts & red ales. Nice place to relax.

Right at the base of Seneca Lake, they have beautiful views of the lake (especially from their outside seating). The atmosphere is comfortable and casual, and the service was great. We enjoyed our beers (they had plenty to choose from), and the food menu is great. Unfortunately, they were out of a few things on the menu (the first beer I ordered and the salmon belly BLT), but we really enjoyed the shrimp burger (shrimp patty with lettuce, tomato, sliced avocado, and Thai chili guava jam on a brioche bun) and some wontons filled with cheese, chicken, spinach, and artichoke (I can't find them on their online menu, so can't remember what they were called). I really appreciated that they had some traditional brewery pub dishes with some less expected, fun (and seafood) dishes as well! With plenty of parking by the restaurant, this spot was a great choice for our lunch in Watkins Glen.

Quick Thoughts: If you're staying the night and have plans to walk the Glen, this is a GREAT…read moreoption. Buckle up, this might be a long one. We are road tripping our way to northern NY and figured we'd stop at Watkins Glenn as a stop on our way to Rochester. Last minute we decided to stay for an overnight. Hotel/Motel: When we were driving I was doing my best to scout the area for somewhere to stay. Lately I've been using a particular chain, but didn't see any in the area, but lots of motels. We got into town (which is super cute by the way) and it seemed pretty clear that motels were the THING, and they all seemed fairly cute. We stopped to eat at the marina and decided to pick a motel near the main entrance to the park so we could walk there and not pay to park. We ended up turning up the west side of the lake and came to the south entrance and boom, a lodge was across the street. Decided to pull in and ask about availability. We opted for a two queen motel, but there were cabins (single queen) and king options too. The front desk attendant was amazingly friendly, and even offered to let us check out a room before booking to make sure we were ok with it. Beds- comfortable and clean so far! Bathroom- fairly spacious, plenty of clean towels, bars of soap (no shampoo/conditioner), and a closet shelf and hanging bar. Amenities- plenty of parking, no ice machine (a bit of a bummer since we're traveling with a cooler, although they advertise 10lb bag of ice for $3 at the desk), a little outdoor sitting area. Ok here's the best parts. All on "campus" is a full restaurant, tavern, and brewery. AND, we just have to walk across the street for free entry into the park with a playground and pool!! What an amazing family friendly find this is! Restaurant/Brewery: I believe you can tell a little about an establishment by their kids menu. If it's just chicken fingers and Mac and cheese, it's just ok for me. So imagine my delight when the first option was a London Broil!!! It came in thin easy to eat slices, a side of rice pilaf, and a trip to the salad bar. My husband had a chicken dinner, which were two marinated chicken breast and rice pilaf. I had broiled shrimp with rice pilaf. Everything was so good. Service was quick (always good with kids) and we loved the salad bar. It was small, but had so many fresh items, and it allowed us to get food right away (also good for kids). My husband and I really enjoyed our beers, and I kind of want to go back tomorrow afternoon to sip one on their amazing deck. Ok, the length is getting absurd now, but I highly recommend this place, and can't wait to share it with family, friends, and you brave souls to read this novel.

We have not been here in a couple years and won't be back anytime soon.
