We came here recently with our son and gf and had a nice time. The Menu (see photos) is diverse and the food was excellent. We started off with some Cream of Tomato Basil soup and Buffalo Style Cauliflower with Bleu Cheese. Both had a nice layer of complexity to them. For our entrées, we ordered the Scottish Salmon with Pine Nuts ($32), Chicken Parmesan ($26), Chicken Marsala ($28); while I went with two appetizers - their Bleu Cheese & Garlic Escargot ($15) and the Seared Sea Scallops ($18). Everything was amazing. I had my doubts about the bleu cheese escargot, but it worked nicely. We only wish we lived nearby, since this would easily become our favorite restaurant. Enjoy! read more

Blue River Bistro checked off all of my boxes for dining! We were searching for a place to eat after getting off of the gondola and looked across the street and saw the restaurant. Paired with the good ratings on Yelp, we took the short trip over. We arrived during happy hour. While they had good 2-4-1 options, we opted to sit in the main dining area. The space was nicely decorated. Our server was Matt and he was the prototype of service excellence! He was knowledgeable of the menu, courteous and professional. I ordered the Paella and was not disappointed. The dish was filling and full of rich flavors. I was tempted to place an order to go for later, but opted out. Modern upscale ambiance with a large bar with good wine and whiskey selection. Unsure about the beers but I think they had a decent amount on draft. Their was live music that was good but not overwhelming for dinner. Food was great. The pork has a perfect amount of sweet and salty. The buratta was delicious. This is a must buy if it's on the menu. Our server was knowledgeable with the wine and the service was good. We had an amazing dinner and drinks at Blue River Bistro. Love the ambiance and live music in a laid-back setting. We started with drinks (Cosmo and Old Fashion Breckenridge) that the best we've ever enjoyed. That was followed with the Scottish Salmon and Beef Wellington, which were outstanding. I'm a Breck local and love, love the Bistro. I prefer lunch over dinner, but we've taken friends to dinner here and it's always a hit. I prefer lunch because I love their chicken salad and it's only served at lunch. We've always had excellent service here, whether we're dining out or taking to go. Staff is friendly, food is good. Awesome happy hour! Came in with friends about 3:30pm and were seated promptly in a booth by the bar. The selection of BOGO martinis was quite extensive and we ordered a strawberry basil balsamic vodka martini as well as a smoky mezcal martini. The boys chose a couple of local beers that they also enjoyed. Appetizers were also buy one get one so we split buffalo cauliflower, crispy tiger shrimp, calamari and filet mignon shumai. We are visiting Colorado this week and spending some time in Breckinridge. The concierge and some friends strongly recommend this place, and we were told they had an amazing happy hour that runs from a 2-5 where martinis and appetizers are 2:1. So a group of us took a shuttle down and were seated promptly at a outdoor table on a day that was picture postcard perfect. Within minutes we had drinks ordered and 4 appetizers on their way. By the time we were finished we tried half the appetizer menu, including an elk Wellington dish, grilled calamari, Hawaiian ribs, grilled Brussels sprouts and a few others I've forgotten. Fortunately I took a picture to share. The service was tremendous. We we're probably there for 1:40 but they never rushed us. I'm hoping we can go back and eat off their regular menu for one day. To make it even better one of our party left her purse behind and one of the team ran out afterwards to bring it to us before we got in our ride back. We finally tried Blue River Bistro in Breck and we will return on our next trip! Lovely ambiance with a live guitarist the night we went. Service was friendly and knowledgeable. The food was excellent- Bibb salad with caper truffle dressing and fried avocado slices was amazing, as was the salmon and the bison short ribs. The kids were welcomed with drawing tablets to keep them entertained and kid pasta was perfect for them- no 'green stuff' and lots of sprinkle cheese! Mezcal cocktail was strong and tasty. Very nice place. I had the Shrimp + sausage pasta and it was so amazing to me. Unfortunately I did not snag a pic. My friend was not impressed with the paella and my other friend loved the chicken Marsala. The lemon drop was a fail, I swear everyone can't get it right. This place is a golden gem on Main Street; as you walk in, you're greeted by a warm smile. Once we were seated, Jason (our server) was attentive and knew all of the drinks like the back of his hand. Their happy hour was to die for. You get four appetizers but pay for two. I was floored and ordered almost everything on the menu. The drinks were the same deal as well. Yummy! Had a wonderful experience last night dining at the Blue River Bistro. Everyone was welcoming and very attentive. We had Adrienne as our server and she was the best! She was helpful and friendly and when I asked her to take a picture of me and my husband she arranged us and the table so it was perfect. We started with the Bruschetta and it was fabulous. I had the appetizer Heluka Ribs as my entree and my husband had the shrimp and sausage pasta. Everything was delicious and beautiful presentation. We made reservations a day earlier. This restaurant was recommended to me by a friend who is familiar with Breckenridge. Also our hotel concierge recommended. Wonderful dining experience and a beautiful restaurant. We always love coming here when visiting. Great happy hour and appetizers! This is a staple for us when we go to Breck.

The food was delicious, but the service left a lot to be desired. I started with a cup of their creamy tomato basil soup and I finished it so fast I wished I had gotten a bowl instead of just a cup. The mango arugula salad was also yummy. It came with mango, avocado, red quinoa, beets, candied walnuts and goat cheese, all wrapped in a thin slice of cucumber. It looked small but was surprisingly compact and filling. The dressing was jalapeño-mint; it didn't taste like either jalapeño or mint to me, but it was good regardless. I highly recommend both dishes. Docking a star for the service, because the dishes came out in such a jumbled fashion. Some people at my table were finished with their entrées before others had even gotten theirs, and everyone got their entrées before the appetizers were brought out. It also took a long time for us to get the check. Slow service for Friday lunch. read more

Cute little intimate restaurant! I came here for a nice dinner out for a bachelorette party and we were very well taken care of. We arrived a little before our reservation and the party before us was wrapping up so we had a small wait. There isn't a great space to wait in so just know you'll be moving around a bit as people come and go. Tables were very well spaced out for social distancing and the restaurant was clean. Our server made recommendations on food and drinks and was patient with us as our group made decisions throughout the night. The group loved their drinks. I didn't, but I'm picky and the menu was just a little weird for my taste. I didn't like what I ordered and the server took it off the ticket without making it awkward which I really appreciate because I feel so bad when I send something back. We got an appetizer and they made an accommodation for our party size which was so sweet of them! Then our food came and everyone couldn't stop talking about how amazing their food was. Gluten free friends, we had someone with us that was GF and she was thrilled there wasn't an up charge for that request. That was the first place we had been on our trip that had GF options and didn't charge significantly more. Our server was so kind, helpful & patient. It was a pleasure visiting this place- the service was great. For my entree, I enjoyed the beef tenderloin and it was absolutely delicious! My picky palate was a bit surprised that there was Gorgonzola on every steak without question. Unfortunately, the beef carpaccio and Brie appetizers were left behind. Perhaps it was the lack of beef in the carpaccio or that it was impossible to scoop Brie with the provided apple slices? In contrast to my first visit to Blue River Bistro, we were greeting by a friendly, welcoming smiling face and seated immediately at our reserved time. The restaurant was full and it seemed the. place was hitting in all 8 cylinders that evening (last Wed eve). We started with a Sauv Blanc before my butter leaf lettuce salad was served. The salad was delicious and well sized. I ordered the penne with sausage and it, too was perfect and sufficiently portioned for two, so I did the best I could. The service was spot on and my two guests agreed with me that Blue River Bistro is THE class act of Breck. Almost every single item we had gotten was delicious and perfectly made. I forget the exact names of the drinks but were these fruity lavender non alcoholic drinks that were really good. Got the calamari appetizer - perfectly cooked, tender calamari and light breading. Loved the dip it came with. For entree, my friend and I both got the trout which was served with the Japanese sweet potato and grains side (orzo, couscous, quinoa and some other grains) - OMG this was incredible. Got the tiramisu as well, which my friend loved but I thought it was just ok - too heavy, tasted too much like a tiramisu cheesecake versus the traditional airy kind. First of all we have to give a major shoutout to our server Jess. From the moment she walked up to our table she brought such an energy and positivity that set the tone of the evening. And the food we ordered was delish too. Don't miss the Brie and honey app - encrusted in a warm browned filó it was perfect. I would say out of what we ordered the bass was probably the best with the short ribs on its heels. The trout special was just ok - a bit dry and I would skip that next time. So... while we were there a mother of a thunderstorm hit as Jess was bringing out the entrees.
