Food and drinks came out timely and we had a relaxed visit. Food this trip was fantastic! We order apps/starters of Pork dumplings, Fried Rice cake, bao buns and a garden salad. All of them were delicious!! My personal favorite was the fried rice cake but I think each person would select one of the others as their favorite as well! Main dishes were mostly sushi rolls and one Pad Thai. Alaskan, Hawaiian, Dynamite, Shaggy Dog and ?? (Can't remember the last one). No room for dessert this trip. read more

My sisters and I had an early dinner on Saturday at 5 pm. We were seated immediately and watched the restaurant fill up in the next hour. We started with drinks (Cosmo, Japanese Old Fashioned, and a local ale) and appetizers (Buffalo Cauliflower and Korean Ribs.) Our drinks were excellent and ample. Our appetizers were well-prepared, appetizing on their respective plates, and delicious. (Yes, Cauliflower can be tasty!) For entrees, we decided on Toro Jalapeno and Shaggy Dog. This was ample sushi, given our appetizer order. The Toro Jalapeno lit up the plate it arrived on. It did not disappoint (as there was enough for each of us to have more than one piece.) Shaggy Dog was almost a balm for the spiciness of the Toro Jalapeno and fed each of us, too. The service was very attentive and not overbearing. We settled on a chocolate brownie with vanilla ice cream for a shared dessert. Again, there was more than enough for the three of us. This place was recommended to me by my sister in law! My husband and I came in on a Saturday night with no reservations and they were able to sit us at the sushi bar right away which we were pretty happy about. The oysters are so huge and good, we had to get a dozen of them. I got the lobster dip bc another reviewer recommended it and it was nothing special. My husband got the burger which he said was pretty good. I would definitely recommend the Surf N Turf roll. It comes with 10 pieces, is cooked and that seared beef (omg yum!) Bluefins was a bit of a mixed experience for us. First, the sushi is good, very fresh. But honestly, nothing that remarkable. The food came out of the kitchen VERY (suspiciously) fast. The service was a little odd, kind of halted. Maybe it was due to the loud music? When we asked for recommendations, of course, the most expensive rolls were suggested. Overall, I wasn't dissatisfied with Bluefin. Upon leaving, I would have been inclined to return. HOWEVER... A couple of days later, I got an alert from my credit card asking if an unusually high tip had been authorized. It was NOT. Nothing bad. Nothing amazing. Had the bao buns, which were way bigger than expected. They reheated well. Two cooked sushi rolls. Pad Thai with shrimp, which was a hearty portion. I live in Chatham occasionally order from Blue Fin pretty much stay away during the high season Unexpected aggressive rudeness from a waiter that came out to see what I was doing in the back parking lot in my car I was Unaware that Sundays, I had to go inside to get my order Sign for Curbside pick posted as usual I ordered on the telephone. No one told me updated instructions. NOT A PROBLEM BUT please put a sign on the back of the restaurant where pickups are usually made how hard is that ; as opposed to passive aggressive behavior, and what a pathetic turn off It was dark cold Sunday night, and I opened my back passenger side door to put the package in... With my credit card and my other hand As he pulled the bag out of my reach this is almost funny in such a sad way Literally was told by waiter" i can't hand you the bag until I get payment" Excuse me WHAT IS HAPPENING to common courtesy this exchange was treated like hostage situation? While in town some friends brought me here so I hadn't done my research on the restaurant like usual... but they hit it out of the park. Being from Florida I am used to very fresh sushi so I am particularly when it comes to having sushi out of town. This has to be one of the best sushi places I've ever been. We started with some appetizers from the specialty menu. The pork dumpling were delicious but the korean ribs outshined everything we ordered. They were so flavorful and fell right off the bone. We actually ended up ordering 2 for the table. For sushi we ordered the Cape cod monster roll, Roll 513, and the Red Sox roll. There wasn't a crumb left. The staff was very tentative, but not overbearing. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant is very tiny and very busy so definitely secure a reservation in advanced.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I will say it was a bit pricy, but I felt it was justified for the quality and taste of every single thing we ordered! I do want to note that we had a larger reservation of 6 people for a birthday dinner, and 30 mins before our reservation time they allowed us to add 2 people no problem. Decor was nice; what you'd expect from a somewhat upscale sushi place. The staff checked in frequently and were organized and friendly. The food was good but not overly unique. Hamachi carpaccio could have used some more flavor to make it more interesting. Cocktails were excellent and had a lot of options for both sake and martinis. First time at the bar in a number of years. Everything we ordered was fabulous. Especially loved the yellowtail served carpaccio style with scallions. Our experience fired on all cylinders. Our table was ready before our reservation and we received a text message to inform us. Seated promptly, our serve was attentive and knowledgeable. Enjoyed the ginger & lychee martinis, as well as the mai Tai and spicy jalapeno margarita. The sushi rolls and mains were excellent. Beware they get you on the pricing- the price of a handroll single serving is the same price of a cut roll. 4 handrolls was $80 - and they argue with you It's the same cost as they don't have any way to change in their computer. Bluefins is a fun place to meet and eat! We enjoyed ourselves the first time so much the first time we never forgot it! We did try going back this summer while in Chatham but we tried to make reservations too late!! Hint: call at least one day i. Advance during peak times over summer! Our first time was in October so we were able to get reservations the same day! The food is delicious and the waitstaff were friendly and always there!! Its a hopping place and does get awfully loud and a bit crowded hence the 4 stars instead of 5... but if you're okay with the noise and packed atmosphere you're gonna love it!! read more

This is a very good Asian themed restaurant, it has sushi but it is more than a sushi bar. The spicy pad Thai is a signature dish, I love the wings and the tuna tataki. The maki is excellent as well. The food here is always so good! Their sushi rolls are so tasty, and they're great to dine in and also for takeout. Pickup is super easy if you can't find parking, as they have a loading zone in front. The service is always quick and friendly. I will say, I'm 5'6" and have normal proportions (legs to torso) and no I'm not saying that to brag... that said I don't recommend sitting at the bar. The stools at the bar are just so awkward to sit on if your shorter than 5'10". The bar at the bottom where you would normally rest your feet on top of is just an inch or two too low down... which means your feet are going to dangle uncomfortably and you have to focus on not sliding forward. Such a small thing but the one time I sat at the bar for dinner I scarfed my meal down so I could get out as fast as possible because it was so uncomfortable. I bet a dude picked them out. Bluefins is a popular sushi bar in downtown Chatham. It was quite lively and active when we arrived, with busy and bustling tables and high-energy music (though not too loud). Service staff was very attentive and helpful. To eat, we shared many of the specialty rolls. The Cape Cod Monster and the Tuna Crunch were especially good, though they were all tasty. The wakame seaweed salad was also enjoyable. Overall a fine sushi spot. Ambiance is more neon and pulsing vs. relaxed and chill. But if you're happy with that, it can be a good meal. read more

The food is both beautiful and tasty. Our server was fast and polite. The Korean rib app fell off the bone and they could serve a bowl of the sauce alone. The sushi looked artistic, time was spent making everything look perfect. The problem is while the sushi was flavorful I couldn't really compare it to other sushi locations I've been to. None of it had the simple and elegant flavor I'd associate with great sushi. Everything was just too much flash, you couldn't taste the individual ingredients or appreciate the texture. The volcano roll is served drowned in a spicy mayo sauce that takes over completely and makes the dish too rich. Again, everything was beautiful and the apps were beyond incredible but the sushi was disappointing in that it wasn't elegant. It was more Americanized than you'd want out of sushi. read more
