The food is amazing, but the service is so bad it makes me not want to come back. Waitress was absolutely disinterested in checking in on us, delivering our correct food, or even saying hi or thanks or anything. Can understand if the place was mobbed, but when our waitress disappeared, there were only five tables with patrons. We had to send an idle employee to look for her. So, I guess go if you want amazing food and don't care if you get any service at all. Pity. Hope management wakes up to the importance of pleasant, cordial and responsive service. First and last time here. I was excited to try this restaurant after if had reopened, since I had heard so much good about it before. My dining partner and I were sadly disappointed. (WATCH OUT FOR THE ONION UP-CHARGE!) Monday morning late breakfast at 10:30, still a long wait for a table--didn't time it, but I'd say 15-20 minutes all spent standing ungreeted in line. Seated with menus, then ignored for 10 minutes. Swatting at numerous flies, dying for coffee and water, and realizing that one of our menus is incomplete--it featured the same page on both sides, so my friend was missing half of the options. Finally, asked about beverages--nothing else. Five minutes later, we are asked if our beverage order has been taken. Still no coffee or water. Five minutes after that, we watch a girl struggle out of the kitchen with a tray holding 10 coffees and 10 waters. Next, the waitress returns to take our order. No greeting, only mumbling something about onions and fried potatoes. I say, "no onions, yes potatoes," and my friend says, "yes I'll take onions in my fried potatoes." So we've been there about 40 minutes before our order is taken. When the food comes, it is cold. Please understand that we could see inside the kitchen we were seated so close. There was no excuse. My dining partner could not really eat her cold quiche, nor potatoes. The toast was the best thing she received. My Mushroom-Swiss Crepes were dry and browned like tortillas, filled with what was like a bland, dry, thin mushroom omelet. I have never had such a sad excuse for crepes. Both of our plates were colorless, unappetizing, and mostly tasteless. We were never asked how our meals were. My coffee was never refreshed. We had to ask twice for our check, and had to wait 10 minutes after receiving it to pay and leave. We were shocked (and offended) that my dining partner was charged fifty-cents for her onions! The equivalent of maybe 1/4 of a diced fried onion, with no explanation of the up-charge when offered. If we weren't so anxious to get the heck out of there, we would have had it removed from our bill. Call it our fifty-cent lesson--NEVER AGAIN! read more

The menu was huge! I went for brunch and there were two pages of specials (lunch specials and brunch specials) and then there was a lunch menu and a breakfast menu. My wrap was delicious and I ordered a side salad with white balsamic dressing (excellent)! I had enough for leftovers the next day and it was excellent. The wrap had roasted turkey, vegetable stuffing, and cranberry mayo. I did not know if I would like the cranberry mayo because I prefer cranberry sauce, but it provided just the right amount of tartness. I recommend this dish. The food was amazing. We got the crab cake appetizer. Delicious and great old bar flavor without being overwhelming. I got the tuna tostada special and it was so so good. Exactly what I was in the mood for. The tuna looked a little hacked up, idk I feel like the presentation could have been neater but whatever, everything else was on point so no biggie. Husband got the oriental salmon salad and the dressing (as well as the rest of the dish) is to die for. Our waitress was very sweet and the food was timed and spaced out perfectly. read more

We had a bad experience at blue plate today. We both ordered the crab bisque and it was not very good. It had no crab in it and tasted like flour. It was very thick. I also ordered lobster and potatoe balls. They were over fried, extremely dry and had one small morsel of lobster in them. They we're basically inedible, even with the dipping sauce. My friend ordered a turkey sandwich which she said was dry. We thought we'd save the meal by having dessert, but they had none, only ice cream. We both had vanilla ice cream and that was the best part of the meal. I was embarrassed as I suggested this restaurant to my friend who I only have lunch with a few times a year. I was so embarrassed we had a 45 min wait at the table. people seated after us were served and left. our server who obviously hates her job sm clearly forgot to put in our order and was so unprofessional , very rude , she never apologized. played on her phone at the server station and told us it's bc the system is down. coffee was cold. staff very unfriendly. save your money and time go to the diner and have great service and a timely meal!! read more

Perhaps I ordered the wrong thing at breakfast, but I was underwhelmed by Blue Plate. Corned beef hash arrived as a messy-looking toupee of corned beef atop fried potatoes cut in various shapes and sizes, along with some large pieces of fried onions. It was not salted much, which was fine, but overall there was a teenage-chef look to how it was plated and and how it tasted. My companion had the crab cake benni, another sloppy looking dish with two eggs. She did not complain nor did she exclaim over it, but she did leave half of it on the white plate. Coffee was good. The interior is very pleasant and fairly quiet, despite being hard floors and walls. Unfortunately, we got one of the Punisher Tables, and my friend was facing the large windows, which threw a blast of blinding sunlight in her face as it reflected off the passing traffic. She good-naturedly remarked to the waitron that Blue Plate needed shades or curtains in the morning to cut down on the glare. The waitron also good-naturedly replied, "Yes." Came for lunch with friends and initially things seemed to be going well. One of the things we ordered was the eggplant hummus platter to share as an appetizer. We were not asked if there were any dietary restrictions or allergies in our party, and the hummus description on the menu failed to note the presence of almonds in the dish. One of the members of our party has a nut allergy and had eaten some of the hummus before we were aware of the almonds. Thankfully, we were able to escort them to the hospital to receive adequate medical care. However, when we asked for the remainder of our food to-go and explained the situation, we were still charged full price for the hummus and remainder of our meal. The waitstaff asked for our friend's contact information, and we left a name and number and no follow up call was received. I hope that the restaurant can work on improving their menu to highlight allergens as well as training staff to ask about dietary and allergy restrictions. read more

If I could give Zero stars I would. Unfortunately, this restaurant has really gone downhill. The food is mediocre at best. Not sure who's cooking in the kitchen during the evening hours, but I can't help but think that it's not the owner/chef because I can't imagine why he would allow such terrible food to leave his kitchen! The first time our so called grilled Ruben sandwiches came to us "warmed over" I was hoping it was anomaly, but apparently it wasn't. Our grilled Rubens sandwiches were perfectly terrible each time we ordered. They came with unmelted cheese and bread that seemed to be simply placed in griddle without any butter/margarine that would give the bread that golden buttery crunch. The sandwich lacked an ample amount of sauce (thousand island on the Ruben) that would normally give the sandwich that yummy extra you expect to taste on a Ruben, not to mention that there was only a teaspoon of sauerkraut on the sandwiches we ordered. Don't start me on the limp, under fried, non-seasoned fries that same on the side. This will be the last time we order from Blueplate...not wasting my $35.00 plus tip on terrible sandwiches again! read more

Visited today for the first time with a friend, and absolutely loved It! They are BYOB so we brought a bottle of champagne and ordered a carafe of orange juice to make mimosas, the ONLY complaint I have is the carafe of OJ was $9 which seemed a little pricey to me but it's no biggie and I would definitely do It again! We ordered the breakfast poutine and the seared tuna avocado eggs Benedict which were both SOO good. I'll probably still be thinking about how good the breakfast poutine was for atleast a week, lol. We started visiting Blue Plate for brunch a few months ago since we didn't want to drive to Philly or Haddonfield. The first time we went, it was amazing. The wait to get in wasn't too bad, we received 3 menus and a variety of options to select from. The second time, the menu changed slightly but it still was very good. The next few times we went, the menu kept getting smaller and one of my husband's favorite items - the sausage and biscuits didn't come with eggs. We were advised that "no one ate the eggs and had to throw them out". Ok. On to today, one menu, limited options, no avocado toast or anything avocado on the menu, the chickpea and cauliflower side item was removed and the service was below par (waitress was great, food was slow coming out). Not even an option to see what they had to drink - coffee, tea or soda. Just a two sided menu with breakfast and lunch combined. No side options or salad. I hope that the chef or whomever makes the menu, takes into consideration that options are good and that's one thing that really makes Blue Plate stand out from the other regular weekend brunch places. I'm sorry to say, that we won't be coming back. Hope you do better for the other customers. There's the potential to do better. Offer more vegan options, bring back the avocado toast, the avocado grilled cheese, offer a side of hashbrowns. read more

Mac and cheese side 4. 2 side salads ( spring mix with cherry tomato & sliced cuke) with blue cheese dressing. Hubby enjoyed the short rib entree but was still hungry. Searched high and low for a place that was halfway between Delaware and Cherry Hill & Philly area to meet up with a friend and settled with Blueplate and it was a nice experience! The parking situation was a bit funky but Mullica Hill is a quaint little town and I appreciate the parking availability! Now to the food and experience... The waitresses are attentive and helpful through the meal and the food was simply amazing. I had a vegetable and shrimp risotto that was fresh, filling, and flavorful. Easily one of the best I've had and the quality of everything they make here is local and top notch. My friend had crab cakes and their potato "fries" we're beautiful. We finished off our meal with a fresh blueberry crumb pie and nothing disappointed me about the experience! My one only qualm is that the waitress mixed up our to-go containers (imagine our portions) but it's an honest mistake xD I would love to come back if I'm in the area! read more

We have lived in the area for a couple years and we have always wanted to give it a try as the menu always looked so good. We had some free time this morning and decided on coming here for Breakfast. Restaurant was busy and only one open table when we arrived which is usually a good sign. My wife ordered the Corned Beef and I ordered an egg dish. Both of our meals were very bland. Both meals were served with their home fries which were just large cuts of potatoes barely cooked, also very bland. After reading some reviews here it sounds like a common complaint. Maybe it's just the breakfast but there are other places to go for a more flavorful breakfast in the area. read more

My wife and I have been talking about eating here for a while now, we are always driving by and with me working out that way a bit more recently, I decided to stop in. The wait staff were all super friendly and I could tell they were smiling behind their masks. Excellent start. The food I ordered was a burger, traditionally done, a side of fries, and chicken tenders. The burger was MW, the way I ordered it, and the roll was fantastic! The burger itself was nothing but still pretty yummy. My fries had a great seasoning and tasted good... But I'm personally not a fan of those kind of "soggy" fries. Next time I will definitely order them well down! Sadly, the most under whelming of all was the chicken tenders... Way, way too much breading and not nearly enough chicken. And the chicken I did get, way too dry. Overall, I just can't give it anything more than 3 stars. I will try it again in the future with my wife, and I will reset my expectations. read more

Oh local breakfast places on the east coast. I miss them. So maybe every time I go to one, I think they are better than they really are. Sentimental value is worth a dime, right? Blue Plate has a standard breakfast menu. Omelets, eggs benedict, sandwiches...make sure you ask for the seasonal menu or the specials. They seem to have a more interesting choice there. I had the chicken apple sausage with grits and was pleasantly surprised with the grits. Hmm-hmm even better than Cracker Barrel. The place itself is very quaint looking, nothing fancy. Like I said, a neighborhood place. However, if you happen to be in the neighborhood craving some brunch food, this is a good place to start (apart from Wawa ;)). read more

My husband and I stopped here on a whim after spending some time at Rowan and we were so happy we did. There is a little driveway right after the building which leads to a parking lot and the tents they have set up for outdoor seating for COVID. We started with the chips and they were excellent. The flavor was simple, yet bold and we finished the whole bowl. My husband had the Buffalo Chicken Wrap and I had the Turkey Waldorf Sandwich and I could not stop talking about how good it was while I was eating it. They did not skimp on anything and all of the tables around us asked for take away boxes (not us, we were starving!) so that's always a good sign. There were a lot of annoying flies, but this was to be expected being outside and the staff were trying hard to ameliorate the situation with fans and fly deterring plants. Went for breakfast, it was a place my mom was telling for years I had to try. Can't say I was disappointed by anything I ate. I got the bananas foster stuffed french toast and she got the special blueberry stuffed french toast. Both were absolutely excellent and came out quick. Has the nice modern atmosphere that you can usually find in the nicer places in Mullica Hill. Service was excellent. Really want to try this place again, maybe for dinner next time. read more
