I was so excited to try this place solely bc it's farm to table. The hostess, the drink server, and waitress were great 10/10. My gf had the crab eggs Benedict and I had the stuffed blueberry cream cheese French toast. I expected to be super sweet but it wasn't at all! This is a BYOB. Andrea and I started off the day doing a wine tasting at wagon house winery in sweedsboro. Cool place, nice people, 10 tastes for $8. So once finished we had the munchies lol. Yelp here we come. After a brief search I decided on the blue plate. Can't really describe the interior decor. It's not country but just cozy with country music playing. Our waitress is super nice and the menu has a significant amount of choices ranging from steak to pasta to burgers. We asked for bread and received 4 pieces of bread that included blueberry bread and a side dish of peppers. Both were amazing. Then the vegetable Asian dumplings as an appetizer. Just a small kick and delicious. But I don't think 4 dumplings is worth $11. We shared a shrimp and lobster pasta dish large size for $35. The pasta was homemade with a lot of flavor. It came with 5 pieces of medium size shrimp and very small pieces of lobster. Andrea and I are not big eaters so we share. The dish had a lot of flavor and was very good 80% being pasta which we expected. All in all service was awesome, food was very good and if down this way again I would not hesitate to return. I was very disappointed when my friends and I were dining at this restaurant. I ordered pumpkin crepes. They were served cold The crepe was.not cooked and the pumpkin was cold. I have never had cold crepes before. They were terrible. Is this a new way to serve them or was.this a big mistake. You won't see us anymore! $3.75 for a cup of boring tea and they don't offer refills. The Crab Cake Benny ($16.25) was bland and soggy. If I didn't add salt and pepper the food would have had no taste except a slight Crab cake flavor which was hard enough to taste to begin with. Crab cake was not nothing to rave about on its own. Soft/ soggy in and out. Poached eggs should pour out when you cut into them. Mine where over done to more poach well. I ate here for the 1st and last time ever. Where are all of the good reviews coming from? This is some of the most bland food I have ever eaten. The potatoes for the corned beef hash were unseasoned. Everything seemed unseasoned. I ordered the bananas stuffed french toast which is usually my favorite thing to order at brunch...but this was the saddest and soggiest french toast I have ever had. I have eaten a lottt of french toast and this was easily the worst one. The cinnamon pancakes were the only okay thing -- they were sweet and had a nice crust on them. The wait was about 30 minutes for less than mediocre food. I definitely will not be going back here and would not recommend it to anyone. Harrison House Diner nearby, or any diner nearby, is probably a better choice than this. read more

There are so many great things that I could say about this restaurant! A friendly atmosphere and fast service! You really feel at home when you are there! Located in downtown Mullica Hill, you will certain feel the south jersey country vibe! Food is always great and fresh here. There homemade potato chips are to do die for! They have a large menu so even the pickiest eater can be accommodated! Lots of vegetarian/vegan options were available also. We order the cauliflower Reuben and a Buffalo chicken Cobb salad! Delicious! My only negative comment was when I did visit early in the fall, they had a massive fly problem on the outside patio which was disgusting and annoying. Hopefully this summer they have plans to fix that issue. read more

Better leave a 20% tip when you order take out. If you don't get a smiley face on your take out bag, beware. I added a 10% tip for a take out order and our order of fries were missing about 2/3rd of them. To the point it was ridiculous. Today, I added 15% tip and I guess it still wasn't enough. I found my missing French fries. They were mixing in with my order of brussel sprouts and drenched in the basil dressing. GROSS. Take out here isn't worth the gamble anymore. read more

My wife and her sister had dessert there on April 27th. They each ordered the App Crisp a La mode and my wife asked for hot tea. Both of the desserts came out cold, yet slightly scorched on top. The apples weren't even cooked and the tea water was tepid. And to think the cost of this was $27.00! Huge disappointment. read more

For what is supposed to be a nice restaurant, every time I've eaten there in the past two months it's been a total mess of flies. Went here twice in the past month. The first time we were seated literally 3 minutes after breakfast ended and they wouldn't allow us to order breakfast. We had arrived before breakfast but it took them forever to acknowledge and seat us (wasn't busy) so that was disappointing. We had lunch which was so-so. Quiche was textured oddly as if it was made days ago and reheated in a microwave. Salad was overdressed with soggy lettuce. The second time we arrived early enough and got to have breakfast. It was mediocre at best which was disappointing for the "hype." Pancakes were undercooked and mushy inside, and the omelet was bland and slightly undercooked. Our server was attentive and friendly, and the inside is cute, but the food was worse than typical diner food. We likely won't return. read more

Blueplate is an absolute gem in Mullica Hill. The area is overall pretty starved of quality eateries, so it was nice to revisit this cutesy dining room and see them still serving up hearty meals on Main Street. Not to mention, lunch was crazy cheap! I ordered the chicken salad club on white toast, without tomatoes, but with bacon for a $1 up-charge, while my mom ordered a fruit cup and a...pancake. Like, one singular pancake. It was massive and she was happy she stuck with one. Meanwhile, a small child at a nearby table had three of them. Not sure how that ended! My chicken salad tasted fresh and healthy. I do wish they had cut it into fours since it was stuffed with meat and it kept falling out of the bread. But otherwise, it was a stellar sandwich, and the bacon really made it. The only miss of the meal? Gingerbread coffee. This is apparently "popular," but it really tasted like regular coffee with just a hint of spice to me. It really wasn't anything special, and even after doctoring it up with half and half and sugar, I was still pretty disappointed with it. Ah, well. You should definitely consider Blueplate if you're driving through Glouco. It's easy to feel right at home in their comfortable space. read more

Lovely little place in the midst of downtown Mullica Hill. Service was terrific, friendly and efficient, checked in often to make sure we had all we needed. Sad to say I was disappointed with our dinners. Menu looks delicious with a variety of selections. Potato and Lobster Beignets, lacked lobster and was on the dry side. Onion Tart was delicious. Light and flaky with carmelized onions and cheese! Crab Bisque had a twist to it, not bad, but didn't taste like crab bisque. Mushrooms and Chicken Risotto was cooked well, but lacked flavor. A small little home town restaurant hidden away on a small town busy road. It has a nice old building modern furnishing feel to it with light tones and exposed dark wood rafters. The building is HOT maybe they haven't turned the air on yet I dunno. They have a somewhat smaller menu mostly cafe type food to me with some can't go wrong items like burgers and cheese steaks. We ordered our drinks and they don't give you straw unless you ask, my wife asked for straws and they only brought 1 so they're a bit stingy in this category. Our food arrived and it looked good, we both ordered cheesesteaks and they were a good portion of food. The fries were good hand-cut weather from them or some frozen company. The sandwiches however, were very unsatisfying, very bland and plain tasting. The only taste I could get from it was the taste of the oil or whatever they cooked it in which wasn't very pleasant. The service as far as our waitress was kinda slow for such a small place but the owner was very active and engaging. So the question is would I come back? The answer.... No, the entire experience left me empty, my hunger wasn't satisfied like I would have been with a good lunch. And when I take food home I would like to not have to beg for a bag to carry it in. I enjoy small-town businesses and support them but this one needs some work, salt and pepper would be a good start. read more
