I went to Bluestone Lane early in the morning around 7am and grabbed myself a cappuccino before work. The coffee was superb, smooth, rich, and honestly just a really great tasting cappuccino. Since it was still pretty early, the coffee shop wasn't too busy, which made the experience feel calm and relaxing before starting the day. The service was quick, the atmosphere was nice, and it's definitely a great everyday coffee spot if you're around Midtown or near Grand Central. hi Im giving this place 4 stars simply because the workers are super nice and I get my coffee very quick. Usually it's a good place to go and grab something fast, but today I was shocked how hot it was in the tiny store. It's a warm summer day, and their AC is not working so even the 2 mins I was in there felt like I couldn't breathe. I feel even worse for the workers that are there all day and looked like they were sweating and over heating. Management needs to do something immediately because if someone faints waiting for a coffee that's going to be a huge negligence issue. I stepped outside after I got my coffee and it was literally colder there (even tho it's 90 degrees outside). Hope this gets fixed soon otherwise I am not walking in there. This Bluestone Lane is a bit of a smaller location, not really any room to sit down - but still has a pretty robust menu! There are good options for drinks - I love the variations on matcha lattes, however they are a bit on the pricier side. read more

I've visited Bluestone Lane locations on several work trips and have generally had good experiences--except at this one. The staff here are consistently rude in how they speak to customers, and the overall attitude feels indifferent at best, dismissive at worst. On top of that, the service is incredibly slow, they always screw up your order, even when it's not busy. It's a noticeable drop in standard compared to other locations, and unfortunately, it's not a one-off--I've experienced the same issue here multiple times. This location is giving the brand a bad reputation. It really needs management attention and a serious reset in service culture. read more

This afternoon after a lengthy appointment I yearned for a cup of java to revive me. I walked on Madison Avenue near 49th Street looking for a cafe. Bluestone Lane appeared. While quite tiny it had what I was looking for - a Cortado and cinnamon doughnut. A single shot of coffee was hot and welcoming. On the other hand the doughnut was rather sad looking and stodgy. Among the chilled drinks available, I spied Open Water which I like and here it was $2.50. I bought two bottles. Bienvenue is a form of greeting in French but here the charming lady who took my order said that it was her name! Hailing from the Congo, we spoke in French which I like to practice whenever I get the chance. Anthony, also from the Congo, made my coffee but said that his spoken French was limited. I sat to have these refreshments and then left keeping in mind that this is a cafe I can come to after appointments midtown. read more

I had the salmon toast on gluten free bread and WOW!! Literally, the best gluten-free bread that I've ever had...fluffy and tasted like real bread. The salmon was fresh and delicious, and my Cappuccino was fantastic. It's definitely a great place to eat breakfast whether or not you have a gluten allergy. I will absolutely be back! Maybe I'm just a sucker for a good flat white that reminds being of being in Australia, but I really enjoyed not only the coffee here but also the avo toast. Coffee was perfectly roasted and really love flat whites, and the avo toast with an egg put the whole thing together. Definitely will be repeat customer. However I'd like to propose instead of shortening Avocado to Avo, we all call it Cad instead (sounds like kod). Yeah that's a fish name I know that but I would rather call something a cod toast than an avo toast since it has 1 syllable and just rolls off the tongue easier, at least it does on mine. Cosy spot that's often very busy! A little cramped inside during rush hours. Food can also take a long time to be prepared but at least it's fresh! Also tastes great and many healthy options. Coffee is also great. There are some small tables and seats outside but the side wall is pretty narrow and busy so would not recommend. Amazing nitro cold brew coffee! Staff was friendly. I've never tried Bluestone Lane before and now I will be here more often. It's a small shop, so I wouldn't sit in. Coffee flavors are bold with just the right amount of creaminess. For breakfast or a snack, Avocado Smash Toast is the way to go. Known for their amazing long blacks (improved version of the Americano for the uninitiated), this no-frills location brings BL coffee to an under-served area in the heart of midtown. In addition to quality coffee, the delicious cookies and banana bread are also making regular appearances at this location. This is a welcomed alternative to the Gregorys and Macchiato chains that clog up midtown east and west.
