Finally stopped by to try while out shopping, really amazing decor and atmosphere and super friendly staff! So from the outside this place looks cute and comes off as having healthier options....I am convinced my burrito and husband's sandwich were both saltier than an in in out burger or piece of pizza. I couldn't even finish my burrito. Aside from the saltiness the food was mid - and not worth the cost. They also lagged on bussing tables so there were flies that kept hanging around while trying to eat. Other than that staff was friendly. Unfortunately will not be coming back. read more

I had such a wonderful experience at Bluestone Lane in Manhattan Beach! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with the kindest hospitality. Uriel, the host, was exceptionally welcoming and immediately made me feel comfortable. While we were chatting, he noticed my 26.2 marathon necklace, and we instantly connected over running and marathon life -- it was such a thoughtful, genuine moment that made the experience feel even more personal and warm. I came in specifically looking for gluten-free pancakes or waffles, and Lennon was amazing and so helpful in guiding me through the options. They recommended the gluten-free banana bread with ricotta, berries, and honey, and even though I was originally set on something else, their friendliness and care felt like such a green flag that I decided to give it a try. I'm so glad I did -- it was absolutely delicious and exceeded my expectations. If you haven't tried this place yet, I highly recommend it. Great food, warm service, and such a welcoming atmosphere. I had the warm chicken with ancient grains bowl, but requested no lentils, no feta. I was a little disappointed in the portion size for the price (I probably could have eaten another of the same size bowl), but I have to say every bite was packed with flavor. And maybe it would have been a more filling dish with the lentils and feta, but I just didn't think I would like them with this dish. There was a pretty decent amount of chicken, so no complaints there. The brussel sprouts and carrots were so fresh and full of flavor. It had me craving more of the veggies, which is unbelievable for an avowed carnivore like myself. Really delicious, but if I could change anything I would add more delicious veggies and a bit more quinoa to make it more filling. read more

What a great find! Our daughter lives nearby and brought us to this wonderful gem of a cafe. The restaurant is very clean. The staff are all so friendly and helpful. There is indoor and outdoor seating and a clean gender nuetral restroom. Patrons are welcome to use the WiFi. We parked in the free public parking lot at the police station one block up. There is a two hour limit. There is plenty of street parking and paid lots nearby. The menu has wonderful coffees, teas, breakfast and lunch choices! We started with their draft cold brew with pumpkin spice and oat milk, black drip coffee, and a latte. The coffee is soooo good here. For breakfast we had the BL Big Brekkie which is served on a wondergul grain toast. The mushrooms, tomatoes and kale are fresh and tasty. The eggs are poached and served with avocado. Yummy! The folded chimichurri eggs are also served on the grain bread and are also delicious. Both meals included extremely tasty bacon cooked perfectly. We also shared the lemon ricotta pancakes which were served in an adorable small cast iron skille with the ricotta, lemon curd, fruit and edible flowers on top. So sad I did not take a picture of them. The warm syrup was a nice added touch. We will definitely be back to try other items. Run don't walk to this Manhattan Beach location and then take a nice walk down to the water to walk off you meal. read more

My boyfriend & I wanted to try this place out. We waited by the front to be seated. One of the ladies came to the front & ignored us, she instead noticed the lady in back of us & was going to seat her first when we were there first. I feel like they maybe knew each other because my boyfriend spoke up & said "we were here first" which was the reason the employee then looked at us annoyed & told the other lady "I'll be right with you" smiling at her & told us to follow her inside, she pointed were to sit & just left. She never came up to ask not once how everything was or anything at all. Atleast another employee came & was very nice to us she had great customer service compared to the other employee working there. I'm not sure if she was discriminating my boyfriend & I because we're latinos, I mention this because she was more than happy to assist a white looking lady than us. I'm glad someone else gave us great service than the first employee. The pancakes & croissant were good but the salad was not good, they served me cherry tomatoes that were already going brown & also the salad had some arugula leafs already brown ! They shouldn't serve food that's already decomposing. This is my first & last time here. read more

I happened upon Bluestone Lane last week while in Manhattan Beach and had brunch there on a Friday morning with Alex L and Samantha V. With a clean and welcoming vibe, friendly service, and a variety of food options, we all were happy with our orders and the overall experience. At the time of my visit, I didn't realize that this location is just one of over 50 Bluestone Lane Cafés / Coffee Shops. After doing a bit of research, I see they have locations not only in California, but in New York, Pennsylvania, Texas, Massachusetts, DC and Virginia as well. I also learned that BL is Australian-inspired and known for their coffee, healthy eats and always aiming to provide a "welcoming experience that embraces their 'Aussie' approach to life." Cannot say enough great things about Bluestone Lane. We've visited 4 times recently on our latest trip and fell in love. We'd run here in the morning, grab a coffee, some food and run back. We even bought coffee beans to take home and one day lunch for our family that we enjoyed on the beach. Every single employee was kind, the coffee is amazing, their drinks are good and the food was all fresh and tasty. Inside is pretty and not too loud. Staff are very friendly. There was a line but it went by fast. Parking on the weekend is hard to find, at least in my experience. During the week, it's much easier to find parking, especially if you go in the morning.

We recently stopped by Bluestone Café in Manhattan Beach for a to-go order, drawn in by its prime location right on the main street, offering a beautiful view of the area. Unfortunately, while the setting and service were pleasant, the food itself didn't quite meet expectations. The portion sizes felt underwhelming for the price, and the flavor, while decent, wasn't anything special. A major downside was the lack of salsa or sauce, which could have elevated the experience. Additionally, the small side salad that came with the order was disappointing, offering just two to three bites, not much for a meal at this price point. It was good and the pickled onions added good flavor to the arugula! But again, just portion size was the biggest missed mark and would not recommend this place. However, the experience genuinely felt like we were being treated differently based on how we looked or were dressed. What makes it more concerning is seeing other reviews describing similar experiences. At the very least, the seating process needs to be more transparent and consistent. If there is a reason one party is seated before another, especially when they checked in later, the staff should be able to clearly explain why. Unfortunately, that did not happen here, and it made us feel unwelcome. I wish we didn't stay, but kids we were hungry. But I won't be coming here again or recommending this restaurant.

The speciality matcha drink I got wasn't good, and the lack of AC is probably the worst part. Very muggy and stuffy and unless you sat right by the fans/portable AC unit they had, would start sweating. Had to step outside because it was cooler than indoors. Wouldn't return because of how uncomfortably hot it was unless the AC just happened to be broken that day.

Our food took a little longer to arrive, and people who ordered after us received their food first, but it wasn't a big deal. The coffee was watery, and no amount of sugar or creamer could help it. And to think it was $5.49. We finally got our food, and unfortunately, it was not good. The Eggs Benedict ($17.99) was the first disappointment. I took a bite and immediately tasted something sour when I started chewing it. At first I thought it was just the ham, but I'm not entirely sure, since it was covered in hollandaise sauce. It also lacked flavor overall. The only thing I liked was the poached eggs. The pork chop with eggs ($18.99) was extremely dry, difficult to chew, and very bland. It didn't seem seasoned at all. We ordered a side of gravy to help, but I didn't realize it cost an extra $3. I wouldn't have ordered it had I known, especially since it didn't improve the taste or texture of the pork chop. The pancakes were oddly eggy and didn't taste like pancakes at all. As for the hash browns, I didn't realize hash browns could taste bad, but these were mushy and almost slimy. Half of them were heavily seasoned, while the other half was bland. Even the ketchup didn't help because it only made them mushier. Overall, the server was nice, but I wouldn't come back here for the food.
