I was in between a 4 and a 5.... Overall, this place is great. Everything on the menu sounded great. I opted for a grain bowl that came with a poached egg, but my egg was beyond boiled haha it was definitely not poached. The tomatoes were a little old, but overall it was a good dish. The gluten free banana bread was also really good! I shared it with my gluten loving guy and he also loved it. It's a nice vibe, no wait on this particular Saturday afternoon because people were at bars watching the World Cup. The matcha was ok, but I'm a snob about my matcha. The only negative thing that my group and I noticed was that 3-4 different girls came over to get our order before we were ready. I appreciate the attention, but we all felt like they were rushing us a bit. Our friends had kids, and we needed a beat to get them settled. We'll still come back for food, for sure... but may skip on the matcha. Cold brew was delicious!
This cafe is such a cute spot! Everything was amazing from service to food! When we walked in we were greeted and helped out right away, our server was also very sweet and gave some great recommendations. The quality of the food taste very fresh! My husband and I really enjoyed it, we think it's definitely a must try if you're in old town Orange!
Located a block away from the Circle, this charming eatery serves breakfast dishes (all day) and sandwiches as well as various coffees. I came with a friend for a late lunch and, upon entering, was told to take a seat anywhere. There are many tables inside and a nice patio, but it was too hot on this day to sit outdoors. We were immediately given a carafe of water and soon ordered our meals. I decided on a croissant sandwich with bacon, scrambled egg, cheddar cheese, with chipotle mayo, along with a hot mocha. The sandwich was superb! The fresh croissant is what really elevated it. The ingredients were all basic but the combination made for a perfect breakfast sandwich. The sandwich came with wedges (I used to call them jojos), which were crisp outside and potatoey-soft inside. Yummy. The mocha was exquisite, a perfect blend of espresso and chocolate, served at an immediately drinkable temperature in a cute mug. Best mocha I've ever had? Probably! Note: Easy parking a block away in the free structure on Lemon Street.
This place is fantastic. We were instantly welcomed by a very sweet young lady with red hair. I LOVE being greeted in this way-it sets the tone for the whole experience. Our server was great and the other young lady that helped cash us out was so personable. 5 stars for the staff, now onto the food. You must order the BL Burrito and vanilla latte. The burrito was flavorful and not spicy. I would order it again for sure. Excellent experience.
Came here on the way to LA from SD and thought it would be a cute brunch place with the family. Staff was overall friendly and the menu had many vegetarian options. They do have a kid menu and high chairs. I thought the food was tasty and for ambiance prices are fair. There was either no wait or a short wait on a Sunday morning. I also saw patrons studying or doing work solo like a cafe. We tried their green goddess salad which was very tasty and light. Their mushroom truffle grilled cheese was delicious as well and came with chips. The kids tried a fairy toast which was a cute idea- buttered toast with sprinkles. They also have protein smoothies, coffee, and tea. The smoothie we tried was good as well and I did not taste the protein. They have outdoor seating.
Came here with a group of 9 and they put us at the big table in the back. Aesthetic is really cute and the servers were attentive. My main reason for giving it 2 stars is because our entire table got their dishes except for 1. After asking two different servers, we were never really given an answer as to where her dish was. Finally someone came by saying it's coming ... yet it took another 5 minutes (by this time, almost everyone was done). The server just handed us the last dish with no apology and simply walked away. I would have expected that dish to be comped for coming out almost 20 minutes later than everyone else's but it wasn't. She took off someone else's drink on our bill instead? Didn't make much sense. Lastly, the pancakes were so sooo dry.
Food - Get the B.L.A.T.E sandwich! You can skip the lemon ricotta pancakes that everyone seems to rave about? We ordered them to try since the were mentioned so much every time we heard about Bluestone but they weren't anything special. They were good but there was too much ricotta and hardly any lemon IMO. The sandwich though, 5 stars! My husband and I couldn't decide between the sandwich and the burrito so we got both to split and while both were good, the sandwich was the star of the day. The little fries on the side were also delicious Coffee - meh. We both got vanilla lattes, I don't love overly sweet coffee but this one didn't taste like it didn't have any syrup in it. I would come back for the food but not the coffee. Ambiance - cute, clean and bright. Can't beat cute little old town to walk around when you're done either. Service - My husband and I came in for breakfast before the Valentine's Day rush states everywhere, I think we showed up shortly after 9 and were seated right away and our orders came out in a fair amount of time Price - for our 2 lattes and basically 3 dishes, it was $82 I think? With tip? Pricey for breakfast IMO but it is what it is. The prices are probably about the same at any other spot in eye sight too.
We finally checked out Bluestone Lane in Orange and honestly left feeling pretty underwhelmed, so we are giving it 3 stars. We had the avocado smash and one of the grain bowls, but both were very mediocre and just lacked any real flavor for the price. We also felt like the service was pretty much absent the entire time we were there, which made the experience even more frustrating. To top it off, the whole place was kind of dirty, from the tables to the floors, which isn't really what you want when you are trying to enjoy a meal. The one saving grace is the outside patio area. It is a really nice spot to sit on a clear day and we love that it is doggie friendly so our four legged family members can join us. There is also plenty of metered parking nearby which makes getting there easy. While the patio vibe is great, the lack of cleanliness and subpar food mean we probably will not be back.
Cute Aussie inspired brunch place in Old Town Orange. Pretty busy on a Saturday morning. It was understaffed so service was a bit lacking. But the food was good, as was the coffee. I got soft chili avocado egg toast on multigrain bread, delicious. Breakfast bowl and brekkie board looked nice too. Quality offerings, would recommend.
Me and my boyfriend were looking for a pick me up and we wanted coffee . I got the iced vanilla latte and he got the quad latte iced with oat milk . Both of the coffees were really good and you can tell that the beans were super fresh . We don't get any food because we were full but the food sounded super amazing . Overall the service was great and the cashier was really friendly. The ambience is in this place is super cute and I love the aesthic .
We planned on having brunch here yesterday after visiting Thompson Building Materials' design center in Orange as I had bookmarked this place for a while now. Finding parking in Old Town Orange on the weekends can be gnarly so I stood in line while my hubs looked for street parking. They don't take reservations and the wait took about 20 mins. Nice decor, light and bright inside. The service was friendly. We ordered coffee and hot chocolate but they were not hot. My hubs ordered the BL Burrito while I opted for the Lemon Ricotta Pancakes. Unfortunately, both items were underwhelming for the price. For the pancakes, I expected the lemon ricotta in the batter, but since the lemon curd was poured on top, only the top cake had a hint of lemon and ricotta. The BL Burrito was just ok. For those who use inKind to pay their tab, you must place your order from the app. You cannot just pay at the end of your meal and enter the receipt # as all other restaurants do.
My experience at Bluestone lane was just okay. The interior is decorated very cute and whimsical. The atmosphere is calm and located in the beautiful old town Orange. The food was alright, I enjoyed my avocado toast but it was nothing special. My boyfriend ordered a sandwich that was kind of dry. They forgot to bring the sauce for him, which was supposed to be a creamy relish I think? But the sauce they brought out looked like curdled sour cream with chili. Smelled and tasted very off... They also forgot to add the cheese on my avocado toast (it's pictured since we asked for it afterwards), took 20 mins to take our order even though it was empty, and overall the service seemed rude. The coffee also was just okay, nothing memorable. Wish the service and food was better since it is a very pretty location.
Bluestone Lane is so charming. I love the cafe ambiance here. It's in Old Towne Orange just off the circle. There isn't a ton of parking, so best to park in a lot and walk over. The BLATE (bacon, lettuce, avocado, tomato and egg was HEAVENLY. The brioche bun was soft and the perfect complement for the breakfast sandwich. The potato wedges were decent although I could have done without them. I also had their version of an Americano and I have to say, the best espresso flavor I have had in a long time. Good flavor without being too bitter. The service was good, although I think one server had the entire restaurant and that seemed like too much for one person. She was incredibly nice and helpful. The music was a little loud and didn't quite fit the ambiance, but that may just be a me thing. Overall, will return!

Bluestone has such a bright atmosphere and it's lovely to go on a sunny morning. The interior and sunlight creates a cozy space to enjoy your morning coffee and breakfast. They offer both indoor and outdoor seating. The staff are incredibly friendly. My table got the Lemon Ricotta Pancakes and Bacon, Egg & Cheese Croissant. They were a lot of reviews on the pancakes and it's known as one of the popular items on the menu so was excited to try. Unfortunately, there was nothing too special about it. The pancakes were soft but they were just plain pancakes. All the flavor was on the whipped ricotta on top. The croissant was buttery and soft and the chipotle menu added a lot of flavor and brought the sandwich together. I'd come back for a coffee and pastry! read more

Came for breakfast and this place did not disappoint! We got there early enough that we were seated right away. The inside is super cute and I can't tell you the amount of times I have walked past this place and kept telling myself I would come! Finally made it!!! And so glad I did Our server was awesome! I am so mad I didn't catch his name but it was a younger newer employee who hates carrots! lol he was splendid and I wanted to say thank you so much for a great service! (Update: went back and his name is CJ!) Now the food and drinks. Everyone said their meals were delicious! The espresso was perfectly shot and not burned! I had the athletes burrito with salad and enjoyed every single bite of it! Our server also brought out this garlic aioli for us and said to trust him haha he was so right!! I dipped every bite of my burrito in that stuff it was so good. He also recommended the Fitzroy juice over the Torquay and it did not miss! If I could I would have the prosciutto and burrata sandwich every single day. So flavorful and delicious! Turmeric and beet lattes were tasty and perfect on a rainy day. Lemon ricotta pancakes weren't as great as I thought they'd be but we still enjoyed them. I will definitely be back to try the brisket sandwich and both lattes iced this time. read more
Parking can be a little tricky, just be patient. Or park in the Free parking lot available at 130 N. Lemon Street in the Old Towne West parking structure. Hostess was friendly and fast! Got my latte out quickly while I waited for my brekkie sandwich. The food was fresh and filling. I got a regular iced latte with whole milk. I couldn't really taste the espresso seemed water down but a latte is always a hit or miss. Ambiance was nice, great lighting. Indoor and outdoor seating. Perfect to do some work, hangout. read more

Having lived in Australia for a bit, I always miss it and was delighted to find that Bluestone Lane is an Aussie restaurant chain in the states. I came by for breakfast here with a friend and it didn't disappoint! Before my friend arrived, I wanted to purchase some of the baked goods from the display but the server suggested I get them after our meal. I was afraid that they would run out but she assured me that there was more available. So I waited, which I shouldn't have. Because after my meal, I went to buy the pastries and a couple of the items I wanted were sold out. Trust me when I say if you want it, just get it first. Anyway, the decor here is open and inviting, lots of light inside and a number of tables outside also. Service is good, although they don't seem to clean off the tables in any order. I saw the table next to me get partially cleaned, and there were a few napkins on the seats and dishes that remained on the table for about another half an hour. It wasn't busy when I was there, so maybe there was no sense of urgency to clean up right away, but it just looks ugly to have a mess at the table next to me for so long. The menu had a good selection of items to choose from and we had difficulty narrowing down what we wanted as everything looked great! Thank goodness they don't offer Vegemite and toast - common brekkie in Oz, but definitely an acquired taste! I enjoyed a flat white (I have to enjoy this Aussie original!), she had a spring trellis iced tea, and we shared the B.L.A.T.E. Breakfast sandwich (Subbed chicken for the bacon), and the Lemon Ricotta Pancakes. When our food and drinks arrived, the presentation was on point. Everything was so pretty. The flat white was really good, and the BLATE was amazing! Loved the sauce that was on the sandwich and the combination of the ingredients was so good! The pancakes were meh - 1/5. I initially was sooo soo excited when I saw the pancakes because they look so thick and fluffy. I don't know how to describe the texture, but I wasn't a fan. It was like eating cardboard. It was dry, dense, and had a weird chew. The pancakes were so hard that it was difficult to cut through the 3 pancake layers to divide the pancake serving in half so my friend and I could share. I managed to cut through the top one and barely some of the second layer of pancake. I didn't even want to finish it, and I LOVE pancakes. =( Overall a wonderful place for an awesome vibe, great coffee and good food. We went there at 9am on a Sunday for my birthday breakfast! There were plenty of open tables at that time, by the time we left people were waiting outside to be seated so I recommend going there early! Their coffees were great, they have a good variety of drink options there. I loved my latte with jasmine syrup Inside is cute & cozy, loved it there! I'd say the lemon pancakes were a bit dry/crumbles but it was still good. All the other food were delicious, loved the potato wedges! Overall I recommend this place for breakfast/brunch for couples, families, friends, etc. I would come back again :) read more

The café's interior and decor are undeniably stunning, creating a lovely and inviting atmosphere. I got the soft chili scramble with avocado & my friend got the BLATE. However, I found the food to be quite underwhelming, especially given the higher price point. The service was also disappointingly very slow, which added to the overall experience. I tried the hot matcha latte, and while it was decent, it didn't stand out. Overall, while the café is aesthetically pleasing and makes for a charming brunch spot if you're nearby, the food and service fell short of expectations in my opinion. It's worth a visit if you're looking for a cute location to enjoy the ambiance, but I wouldn't recommend it solely for the food. read more

Absolutely amazing spot! Abby and Edgar were the best -- super welcoming and friendly from the moment we walked in. Edgar gave us the best recommendations the truffle grilled cheese, turkey bacon and tomato soup was out of this world, and he also suggested the banana bread and coffee, which were both delicious. You can really tell they care about the customers and love what they do. The vibe is so chill and cute , perfect for breakfast or brunch. Definitely one of my new favorite cafés in Orange can't wait to come back! read more

It was our first time visiting, so we asked for the top sellers and went with the recommended items: the truffle sandwich and the soft chili scrambled eggs with avocado and chicken. Unfortunately, the sourdough on the sandwich was quite dry, and we couldn't really taste the truffle. The chicken was also on the dry side, which took away from the overall dish. We also had a flat white and a cappuccino -- both were just okay, nothing standout. That said, the restaurant had a really nice vibe with a relaxed coastal theme, and the staff were friendly and welcoming, which we appreciated. read more

Stopped by with friends to grab breakfast in the Orange Circle. There were a few things on their menu that caught my eye & I was super excited to try. We opted to sitting outside because it was such a nice morning & my busy toddler loves to be outside. We ordered a few dishes, coffee & a smoothie. Everything tasted really good & picture worthy. My favorite was the Bondi Blue Smoothie which I shared with my daughter. My gripe wasn't with the food itself but with the server who seemed to have a hard time with understanding my request. The first thing he asked was if we wanted any beverages & since I was still waiting for my friend to join us I ordered a plain milk for my daughter. He asked if I wanted it hot or iced & I was a little confused but told him iced. All I asked for was a cup of milk. Well some time went by & we had put in our order for food + drinks. When they finally dropped off my daughter's milk, it was in a giant glass cup with what looked like chocolate syrup in it. I stopped our server before that drink even was placed on our table to let him know I just wanted plain milk. When they came back with the plain milk it was in a to-go cup & it was CLEARLY the chocolate milk just in a different cup. I was already over it & gave it to my daughter, which she drank maybe 1/4 of it. I look forward to coming back, but I just don't understand how a simple request ended up being so complicated. Also sitting outside was nice, however the particular spot we sat at was near to the outdoor area of a dive bar & the smell was just gross.IYKYK. I'd opt to sitting inside next time I go. read more

If you like tiny portion, bland food and long wait...this place is for you. Ordered BL burrito and lemon ricotta pancakes...took over 30 mins and it was very bad. The small burrito was $17.25!!! See picture for scale. Our waitress was nice but she should not be working elsewhere. read more

Menu has a lot of healthy food options. I got the golden iced latte with antioxidants. I also got their lemon chicken grain bowl it avocado. Yum!! Super filling. I was wfh and messaged them via yelp app to ask if they had sockets available for customers. They had a few which worked out. The servers were also nice and checked-in. There is plenty of in door and out door space. Parking on the street. Pretty calm place and not too crowded on a weekday. Also wheel chair and baby stroller accessible. read more

This matcha was so incredibly disappointing, especially for how long I waited for it to come out. And not freshly made matcha! It was squirt out of a condiment bottle onto a cup FULL of milk. So not only was it not fresh, it was nearly all milk! Picture is after I stirred it. I actually had to throw this out and go to a different cafe. I went to Play after which is down the street and they actually make the matcha in front of you, I recommend you skip Bluestone and go straight to Play if you want matcha. I will not be coming back or recommending this place. read more

The restaurant was easy to find and seating within had groups of tables for intimate dining and conversation, and some outdoor options.. I had the best experience and service today! Forgot to get the name of the ladies working this afternoon, but they made the experience top tier and were so friendly. Oh, and then I got to actually trying the food and protein shake I ordered; the BL Burrito was packed with flavor and quality ingredients. I loved the avocado that was included in the burrito, it added a nice creamy flavor. Everything was cooked and seasoned so perfectly. They were out of protein for the smoothies but the ladies quickly offered the next best option and I was more than pleased with the outcome. I hosted bookclub at this gorgeous cafe! The food was amazing! My ricotta pancakes were decorated with edible flowers, and it was so yummy. I ordered a lavender latte which was so creamy! Service was great although they were pretty busy since it was a Sunday. The inside is so pretty and huge which is perfect for a get together with a big group. Parking on the street is kind of tricky on the weekends so I'd recommend parking in the parking garage on Lemon St. Loved this brunch spot! read more
Food: 3/5 - Good but pretty average and expected for what you get. Nothing too crazy. Wish the pancakes had more lemon and the chili eggs were spicier. Service: 2/5 - Long wait for food and our waiter was also the barista so he was a bit overwhelmed. Staff didn't really check on us and you have to flag them down for basic items like utensils. It took too long to for our waiter to notice us so we used the QR code on the table to order our food. The tables next to us was also concerned about the service so it wasn't just us. Ambiance: 4/5 - Nice decor and place to sit and chat. Clean and modern cafe. I probably wouldn't return for the food but I wouldn't mind coming to grab a coffee when the crowds die down. read more
I've been meaning to go here for a while now and glad I finally made it. If I could give half stars, I would give 4.5! Came in around 8 on a Monday morning and it was empty, but picked up an hour later or so. The space is super cute and well decorated. There were a lot of good looking and unique items on the menu and we settled on the green baked eggs and soft chili scramble with avocado. Both super tasty with unique flavors and easy to share! Coffee was just okay. Service was attentive and overall this was a great experience. My reason for 4/5 is that the price point seemed a bit high, but I would go again! Forewarning, it is quite chilly inside if you get cold easily (which I do)! read more

Is this a place where i can bring my laptop to work? I wasn't sure if you had plug outlets and if you were a table service location.
Yes they have plug outlets so you can bring your laptop there for work, but they only have few plugs. They also have free wifi for customers.
Do you take reservations? It sounds like maybe via Resy only which appears to be Apple only app
