We enjoy the ambience of BlueWater Grill. It feels cozy and not too noisy to have a conversation, at least at medium occupancy like the early dinner time we were there. The service is very attentive and friendly. We enjoyed the rich creamy clam chowder and freshly baked crusty bread as well as a well crafted Old Fashioned. However I was very disappointed in the paella that we shared. The flavor was good, but there was an abundance of dry diced chicken in it, as shown in the photo, after having already eaten a lot. If there was less of the chicken it might have not been so objectionable but it greatly outweighed seafood in it. I haven't had it here before so I don't know if this is to be expected. We will definitely return because it is a local business in our area, and we usually have a good experience. I recommend Bluewater Grill; just maybe not the paella. read more

Went here for an early dinner with my bestie in September. Got there in time for her to enjoy a drink on happy hour, plus i had a yelp checkin offer for her beverage, which was great! I had a few requests and let me tell you that the chef knocked it out of the park. More on that in a bit! I ordered a 1/2 doz oysters (east coast) and they were nice, fresh, and briny...simply delicious! Bread came to the table, which i didnt eat, but my girl said it had a crisp crust and soft inside. I did eat the butter that came with it though, which was delicious. lol Now my specialty request. I got the Spicy Tuna Tartare, but not on the crispy rice. Had a lovely girlfriend dinner with some special girlies here, and I was excited to try it. The place's ambiance was welcoming and low key upon entering so it felt easygoing there, a chill vibe. There had been some bread delivered to the table when I arrived too (my friends arrived earlier than me). I ordered a wedge salad to start with and it was perfection in a wedge. I'm a big fan of blue cheese and so not only did it have the dressing drizzled atop but it also came with extra blue cheese crumbles to the side of the salad, and some purple onions and sliced grape tomatoes! I love all of these items but really nice if you aren't a fan of any one of those or prefer less of them. I gobbled mine entirely, it was superb with the bacon bits. Our server was patient and really lovely, I was so distracted I didn't catch her name but I wish I had because she allowed us to gab most of the afternoon but also knew when to ask us how we were doing and checking in. Our drinks stayed replenished without us having to even notice they weren't - but I absolutely noticed because I drink a ton of water with dinner! She also helped me decide on dinner and even went along with me when I asked her to please pick and surprise me. Some folks don't do well with this but she did and I was SO grateful! I ended up with the Halibut dish and IT WAS SPECTACULAR. I love me some fish first of all, but this came with a flavored crust on top that was crispy but the fish was cooked so perfectly well it was nice and moist... it was so delicious. It was on top of some scalloped potatoes and asparagus. My friends got the ahi tuna appetizer (was YUM), a seafood pasta with cremini mushrooms, and a lobster roll, and Everyone was delighted with their dishes... to top it off, with our service. The restaurant wasn't too busy for a Sunday afternoon (we arrived at 4) and less busy when we left (closer to 8) and thankfully our server seemed to have a big station to turnover others because we stayed so long. Price of several items, seafood chowder was $11 for a cup. That is lubricous. I have never been charged that much. The other order I had was 6 oysters for $22. That is almost $4 each. That is the highest I have ever been charged. Both of those were on a Sunday after noon, Happy Hour. I will do my very best to make sure that every one I know is aware of those prices and they then share with others they know. For entrees we had the Ipswich fried clams and they did not disappoint. I am a New England girl who grew up near the ocean and buying seafood from the docks. Even though I gave a review on open table I felt compelled to put one up ob yelp. The restaurant was amazing. Staff supper friendly, not because they have to be, because they are genuinely warm. Ryan was our server. He was exactly what you would hope for. He was attentive without being interrupting. The food was perfect. We ordered the crab and artichoke dip and fried Ipswich clams. OMG they were tender and flavorful. The breading was exactly what it should have been and it was a clean fry. The prices were what was expected. Ryan even removed my plate when I was done and packaged it for me. No struggling with dishes. I've recommended this restaurant to several family and friends. We've dined here before a couple times so I'm surprised that I haven't already done a review. Today I want to talk about their Lobster Roll Kit. I decided that for my birthday this year, I really wanted something special and since lobster is one of my favorite things (and probably one of the things I miss most now that I don't live in New England.). I did a little research and liked the price at Bluewater, so I gave them a quick call to see if I needed to pre-order. I was told it is a good idea to call ahead just so they can start getting it ready, and because there are a couple questions thet will ask - such as if you want the rolls toasted ahead of time or not. I ordered the "for 4" kit even though there are only 2 of us because it will not go to waste! But a kit for 2 would have been plenty for one meal. (Now we've got enough to have it again tomorrow and we're not mad about that). The kit included: 4 individual baggies with the dressed lobster meat (and they didn't scrimp), 4 rolls, a big tub of clam chowder, 4 bags of oyster crackers, a big tub of cole slaw, 4 grilled lemons and 4 pickle spears. Everything was absolutely delicious! The cole slaw is simple but crispy and fresh. The chowder (chowdah to those of us from Boston) was probably one of the tastiest I've ever had. The rolls were soft and I just spread some butter on and griddled them on a cast iron pan - came out perfect! And the lobster! Absolutely delicious - fresh, flavorful, good amount of mayo, and nice size pieces - perfect! Highly recommend! read more

Another delicious celebration at Bluewater Grill. If you are an oyster on a half shell lover, their Blu Point oysters are always fresh and juicy. Even though they are usually smaller, their seasonal oysters from the west coast are special! Taste the sea. As for Tabasco to eat with lemon juice, cocktail sauce and horseradish. I am not a fan of their Thai vinaigrette. Their mussels are the freshest and with the broth and chorizo, wow! Eat it with their hot sourdough bread. One of my favorite places to have mussels! We dined at Bluewater grill on 5/11/26 at noon. Two in my party had lobster rolls and I had the crab BLT. The food was excellent and the service was good. The reason I am giving three stars is because the cocktails were awful. We ordered a Mai Tai and two Coconut Margaritas. The bill for those three drinks was $48.00. The Mai Tai was incredibly sour and the margaritas tasted like cheap tequila. No coconut taste whatsoever. I should have sent them back but were pressed for time so I just let it go. Started with the captains Mai Tai which was refreshing on a 111 degree day, my partner had the American mule and really enjoyed it. Complimentary sour dough bread was fantastic! (Frozen butter balls, let them thaw then they could be useful) clam chowder was 100 percent the best I have ever had! Nice chunks of clams and potatoes and seasoned very nicely! Blue water roll was excellent, fish tacos were two huge tacos I just had a bite (not my favorite but I'm not a huge fish taco person) so I only had a bite. Firecracker shrimp was good but with a firecracker in a name I thought of some heat or spice, not so much but still tasty. Everyone at the table enjoyed it and our server was fantastic! Date night with hubby started with our 5:45 reservation. Easy online booking through Yelp. Arrived a few minutes early and we were seated immediately. If I could have the same server everywhere I eat, it would be Miles. He was absolutely amazing. He had amazing recommendations. Vast knowledge of everything I asked about. And was spot on with suggestions. He took the time to hear what we liked and didn't like. I had the Cajun grilled Australian Barramundi. Divine. I loved the mango topping with crab and arugula. So, hubby and I wanted seafood, so I hopped on Yelp and searched for Seafood. I remember when this place was at its old location, and I was not impressed. Seeing that it moved, I decided to give it a try. I'm so happy we did. The inside was clean and modern, which was very refreshing. We were greeted and seated quickly, and we arrived at about 5:15 p.m. We were greeted by our waitress who reminded us of your mother (in a very good way) she was engaging and friendly. We ordered our drinks and appetizers. She made some recommendations for dinner, and surprisingly, I was going to choose one of them. The appetizer was fried calamari, they were excellent, and the Sweet chili sauce was odd. We ordered our salads, and got to love a good wedge salad!! YUM Dinner, I ordered the Sandabs, and hubby ordered the Salmon. The Sandabs were EXCELLENT the only issue was the Scalloped potatoes they were not good, and the potatoes themselves were tender, but the cheese they used was WAY too pungent and was not good. This was the only issue for dinner. We will be back, just hope they fix the scalloped potatoes. read more

I'm so happy I chose to try this place out! I came here on a Monday night and sat at the bar. There were several other people at the bar as well and they all seemed to be regulars and that's usually a good sign IMO. The bartenders were awesome! Very quick and friendly. I asked the bartender Miles which dish he would recommend and he directed me to the snapper with artichokes and risotto and it was a great suggestion! The fish was perfectly cooked, light and flaky. The artichokes had a really lightly crispy crust on them and the risotto had a great creamy texture. The only thing I would change is to cut back on the salt in the risotto a little but other than that, it was a perfect dish. They had the windows open so there was a bit of a fresh breeze coming in. Overall it was a nice little evening. I would definitely recommend giving this place a try. read more

What we had: Yellowtail Nigiri (I could eat 20 more right now) Spice Yellowtail roll (yum) Blue Water roll (would probably skip next time) Raw oysters (actually so very delicious) Fries (not amazing but 7.5/10) We had their happy hour vodka martinis, with New Amsterdam, and they were good but Kettle is better of course.
