UPDATE 2026 Bluewater is our new favorite seafood restaurant. We went last Wednesday for HH and the bartenders are a fantastic team. They run a very professional bar. The service we received from them was next level. The kitchen did a great job too. I got the fish and chips with walleye. It was flaky goodness paired with crisp and salty fries. I washed it down with a couple smoked old fashoineds. We left with a satisfied smile.

It was my first time eating here and I was so impressed!!! First off, I loved how the building gave the appearance of being on the ocean with the lighting below it and the wood walking ramps!! So thoughtful and ADA accessible. The Hostess was sweet, quickly showed us to our table and gave us menus. Water was brought over quickly and our server (so sorry that I forgot his name) asked if we had an initial questions. I did ask for a few minutes to look over the menu. Our waiter was very attentive, yet he didn't interrupt our meal too much. It's nice having a waiter that has down the perfect balance of helpful, yet lets you enjoy your meal We started our dinner with off with drinks The Pain Killer is so yummy with the perfect balance o dark rum and fruit flavors!! The kind of drink that goes down super easy. The Captain's Mai Tai was tasty with both light and dark rum, fruit juices abs simple syrup. I got the Rainbow Trout meal and let me tell you, it's wonderful, crunchy, and moist!! I couldn't get enough of this large meal!! It came with scalloped potatoes and freshly cooked green beans. This was my first time trying rainbow trout and now my expectations are high!! My boyfriend ordered the blacked swordfish on a bed of rice. So good, so fresh and juicy. The bed of rice was very flavorful. Not pictured was the Java Mud Pie, which we took home and enjoyed. The flavor was very Java with the perfect balance of ice cream, chocolate, and caramel. We couldn't get enough. Highly recommend!! 10/10

I have been wanting to try this place for YEARS and when I say I am impressed? BABBBBYYYYYY IT WAS GOOD! The clam chowder was the BEST clam chowder I've had in a very long time. The Phoenix roll was a very good roll and it was filled with all the good stuff including the fish that was in it which was not a skittle sliver which made it worth the price. The calamari was to die for and we pretty much cleaned the plate. My two drinks were the Napa G&T and Espresso Martini which both drinks (while vary extremely in base and flavor) were DEEELLLIIIICCCIIOUUUS. Our waiter (I forgot her name) was amazing and sweet, she deserves a raise. The interior is beautiful and we decided that we will be coming back again for dinner so I can try the Carpaccio and my partner can try the Halibut. Amazing job ya'll

This was our first time at bluewater grill, but it won't be our last. I will let first warn you that parking can be crazy, which is often the case when a place shares a parking lot with the gym. There is an EOS in the same center, and I have a sneaky suspicion that's the reason for it lack of parking. Steve I'm back walking out and got a space right near the door. It's kind of cool because the building is raised up almost like it's on up here and there's blue lighting underneath the building at night. When you walk in there is a dining room area in the bar, there is a another large dining room, and when you walk through there there is a different room that is the sushi bar. The sushi bar is so cute with counter seating as well as some seating around the room. The dining room we were in had a glass ceiling, but the shades were pulled. I'm guessing because it was a bright and hot day. Fair are life-size "fish" hanging around the dining room, and what's really great is that the server seem to know what each of these fish is. I asked about a large red one and the server knew immediately that it was an opah. I found it really quite interesting. Our server was very cheerful, knowledgeable, and really on her toes. She was working hard for her money because this place was really packed. And even though she was clearly busy, she managed to be extremely attentive and checked on this often. She immediately brought our water and probably came back for our cocktail orders. We ordered a couple of drinks and I serve her bought us hot sourdough bread with butter. It was really good. Despite not knowing what a sand dab is, after speaking with the server I ended up giving it a try. Sand dabs are a small fish similar to flounder that are delicacy in california. My order came with three sand fans, and it was delicious. It reminded me of swai, which I love but is hard to find in restaurants. It had a wonderful buttery flavor and topped with the beurre blanc with capers, it was delicious. It was hard with a yummy scalloped potatoes and green beans. It was a 10 out of 10 for me. Hubby got the trout almondine with the scalloped potatoes and green beans. His trout was quite large. Both of us were very happy with our choices. We were quite happy with our experience here. There aren't a lot of seafood options in the area, but this is a solid choice. Prices are not terrible either which is another added bonus!

The fresh fish and the market are amazing

Another great night at Bluewater Grill. I've been coming here for years... starting with the original location. Last minute decision to come tonight not realizing that it is Friday and Lent!! Place was packed. Waited for first available anything! Was able to get a high top in the bar area! So happy to have Ashley as our server! She was incredible!! Let us know about some great items and suggestions on our order. Didn't take photos tonight as we were focused on our food and drink. House wine, margarita. Clam chowder, scallop dinner and crab cake appetizer. The bread is always my favorite! Thank you Ashley and Jeff ( can't forget the big man) for getting us seated and enjoying yet another great night at Bluewater.

Today was a day work was special & I needed to just chill. Price point was up there but well worth the chill. The fish grilled nice tender and char amazing . Blended arugula salad and sauce was perfect sitting on a bed of lettuce. I can say one thing of the whole experience perfect that barramundi dish PERFECT. I also craving a Bloody Mary & it did not disappoint only desire more black Pepper but overall perfect. Fluffy Grandma recommends excellent service!!!

Came here on a Saturday night around 7:30 PM. It was busy, but there were still seats available. We were seated right away, which was a great start to the evening. The manager, Steve, was incredibly friendly and welcoming, making us feel comfortable as soon as we walked in. The restaurant itself is very spacious and clean, with a lively yet relaxed atmosphere. The service was great throughout the night, and our food arrived quickly without feeling rushed. We ordered the fresh West Coast oysters, and they were absolutely amazing -- fresh, clean, and full of flavor. The clam chowder was also really good and well-seasoned. Both grilled fish entrées were cooked perfectly and tasted great. The sides were okay -- nothing particularly special. The green beans were overly cooked, so they were soft and not very well seasoned. The scalloped potatoes were okay, in my opinion. Andy, one of the staff members, was friendly, nice, and efficient. Overall, this was a great dining experience with excellent service and delicious food. I would definitely come back and recommend it to others looking for a nice seafood spot.

Cheers Jeff M. Sorry we missed you

Always great food Fantastic Happy Hour A seafood restaurant built from a family passion mixture of culinary experts and active fishers. Many locations, equally fantastic. A newish location for Bluewater, now conveniently located off 51 and Bethany The best selection of seafood in Phoenix, Scottsdale... great unique sushi, fish market and huge bar. Happy Hour, 3-6... only place you can find Guinness on a Happy Hour menu, amongst all drafts. Great selection of oysters, also on Happy Hour. Huge menu of fish and meat & salads As you are seated, you are served a jug of water and fresh baked sourdough. One of the best features of their Happy Hour is that the servings are just the same as the regular priced dishes. Fish tacos, stuffed with actual cod, not just any white fish that's cheaply available. Premium and traditional sushi rolls. Equally sized on their Happy Hour menu. Quality and prices have held up through the 15 years I've been frequenting Bluewater. Never had a bad dish or bad experience

Service was great, was well attentive. Wasn't busy for 4th of July and was a great dinner restaurant with the family. Pasta dish was recommended by our server and was FANTASTIC. Only downside was the clam chowder tasted saltier than it should be.

The seafood here is AMAZING! I have only eaten here twice but will definitely be coming back!! Very clean seafood specific ambiance, and the service was awesome, our waitress was very educated on their seafood menu, had great details to add about everything and made great recommendations!! Definitely coming back to try more dishes!!

Even when I screw up the management of Blue Water Grill comes to my rescue. I erroneously booked a reservation for Saturday when I meant to book it for Friday. So I show up on Friday for my birthday dinner and they didn't have me listed. Of course they didn't. I messed up. But graciously and methodically they figured out a way to get me seated. The food didn't disappoint. Wonderful shrimp and fried cod. The asparagus was phenomenal-- nicely charred. My birthday dessert was yummy. Thank you guys. I love your restaurant but I like u as people even more.!!

We celebrated our daughter's birthday at Bluewater Grill. Brian, our server, was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. Great focus on customer service. We were happy to be seated at a round table making conversation easy. Noise level was low. We were able to take advantage of happy hour which was on a Saturday from 12 to 5. We ordered the following: Captain's Mai tai, Cucumber Mojito, El Cubano (rum, coke, and lime) and a Coconut Margarita. We enjoyed the freshness of the mojito. The toasted coconut was a nice addition to the margarita. My husband said the Mai tai was just ok but my son loved it. We would not order the El Cubano again. You could tell that all the entrees were made with fresh ingredients. We skipped appetizers, however, the sourdough bread with butter was served straight from the ovens. We ordered the: Rainbow Trout Amandine ($28.50) - the lemon buerre blanc was served on the side, nice portion of trout, flavor was good. We would have liked a few more capers. Scalloped potatoes were excellent. Green beans were plain. Cedar Plank Salmon served on a cedar plank ($34) with a maple dijon glaze. We enjoyed the flavor of the glaze, not too sweet, however, we felt the portion of salmon could have been larger for the price. We subbed fries for the asparagus. San Francisco Cioppino with clams, mussels, calamari, shrimp, scallops and fish ($40) was the star of the dinner. We paid the upcharge of $2.00 to include linguini with the dish. Plenty of seafood and served with a bib! Beautiful presentation. Large portions. We were too full to order dessert, however, the server brought out two servings of ice cream with lit candles to celebrate our birthdays. Overall, we had a wonderful experience and would definitely recommend this restaurant to our friends.

I love attentive waitstaff! And the waitstaff is attentive! It is like being catered to and a wonderful dinning experience. Thank you for making me feel important. I order oysters! My word! My word! My word! When I tell you the freshness of the oysters I am still shaking my head in agreement! The oysters taste clean and briny, not fishy, with sweetness. The texture made my mouth dance. It was excellent in my mouth. I would go back and I can't wait to go back! Let me hurry up and go back!

Unfortunately, this visit was a huge disappointment. We arrived about an hour before closing and sat down as we normally do. While I was walking to the restroom, which is located past the kitchen area, I heard a server/bartender we've seen several times before ask the cook, in an obviously annoyed tone, if two people had just arrived. When he said yes, she responded, "Who the fuck!?" The cook then looked directly at me. At that point, I honestly felt extremely uncomfortable and wanted to leave. We decided to stay since my boyfriend had already ordered a beer, but the experience immediately felt different. We felt like our presence was an inconvenience simply because we came in an hour before closing. Unfortunately, the food didn't make up for it. We ordered the beef skewers and a burger. The skewers were okay, but they were not nearly as good as we remembered them being. The burger, however, arrived completely cold. What makes this especially disappointing is that we used to really enjoy coming here. We understand that being close to closing time can be frustrating for a restaurant, but customers should still feel welcomed, especially when they are coming in well before closing and have supported the restaurant in the past. We really hope this was just a bad night, because we genuinely used to love coming here. But after this experience, we unfortunately left feeling very disappointed.

The bone marrow was interesting and flavorful, but I'm not sure it was worth $25. The oysters were good, although I wish there had been a few different sauce options beyond the basic preparation. The steak was probably a 3.2/5 for me--it was good, but at $62, I expected more, especially considering it was served with fries. Service was good overall, although the experience started off a little strangely. We had made a reservation and mentioned that it was our anniversary, that we were trying a new restaurant, and that we were hoping to make the evening special. Unfortunately, none of that was acknowledged. When we arrived, we were directed to the front, where the hostess seemed confused about our reservation before eventually taking us to our table. I wasn't expecting anything extravagant, but even a simple "Happy Anniversary" would have made a difference. The ambience was definitely one of the highlights--moody, intimate, and a nice setting for a date night. I was actually happy that we were seated along the back wall rather than in the main dining area. Overall, I'd give the experience about a 2.7/5. The food was decent and the atmosphere was nice, but for the price ($85 per person), I expected a little more from both the food and the overall experience. Especially for an anniversary dinner, it was disappointing to make a point of mentioning the occasion and have it go completely unacknowledged.

A friend and I originally planned to meet at…read morethe 7th Street location at 6 p.m., which is still listed on their website as one of two locations. I arrived a bit before 6 to find it closed, no sign on the door and nothing online stating it had closed. So we headed downtown to the second location. I arrived about 6:10 pm and was asked if I had a reservation. I explained that we went to the other location only to find it closed and when we called the only number on the website to make a reservation (earlier in the day), no one answered the phone. We called multiple times. The guy at the door informed us the other location had closed and he couldn't seat us until 8 pm unless we wanted to sit at the bar. I asked to speak with a manager and was told there was no manager there. A restaurant should always have a manager or someone on site empowered to address customer concerns. We agreed to sit at the bar. First we ordered cocktails for $17 each. While they were tasty and refreshing, they had virtually no alcohol. I ordered the Kra Pow and, on the server's recommendation, chose the pork belly. My friend ordered the Pad Ki-Mao with pork belly. After waiting 30-45 minutes for the food, it finally arrived. Mine was dry pieces of pork belly, dry rice, an egg and three cucumber slices, no sauce whatsoever. When I asked for sauce, I was offered soy sauce and hot chili. My friend's noodles were tasty, but she also thought her pork belly was dry. The server, who was also the host and bartender didn't check in on us a single time during our meal. Between the outdated website, unanswered phone, lack of management and service, long wait and underwhelming food and drinks, the entire experience was extremely disappointing. I expected much more from this place.

When I sat at the bar, I immediately got service from the bartender with a smile. The booze selection was very limited. I paid $21 for a Woodford Rye on the rocks. You can buy an entire bottle for $35 at your local grocery store. There was a nice clear cube I suppose. We ordered the cajun rubbed wings. We receieved six wings and were charged $18. I said that it was happy hour and the bartenders said that they gave me the regular order of wings anyway because they did not give me a HH menu. Apparently on HH (and if you possess a HH menu) you only get three wings. The bottom line is that the wings were chewy and tough and the Togarashi Ranch tastes like feet. We asked for regular ranch and they brought out miracle whip. The Tomahawk Pork chop sounded great, but after the wing issues, we bailed to cut our losses. The friendly bartenders did reduce my wing pricing to match the HH menu. The service was actually quite good and I like the folks behind the bar. I just don't like the way they run the restaurant. HH food is supposed to be a better value - not portions cut in half. The Togarashi Ranch is either a poor recipe or badly executed. Everything is wildly overpriced. I suppose if your traveling on an expense account, it doesnt matter. If you're spending hard earned dollars, go to a restaurant - not a hotel. Five stars for the folks behind the bar. Zero for management / food.
