Hands down the best breakfast I've had in Sarasota....possible one of the best prepared breakfast I've ever had. We had an omelette and breakfast potatoes and salmon bagel. This was our first time dining in and the food was AMAZING!!!! They were short staffed but they continued to deliver optimal customer service. I had the French toast which was delicious. Might I mention that I have never eaten French toast without syrup before but this was so succulent and delicious that it wasn't necessary. Took forever, watched those who came in after we did, get served and leave before we got our food. Cold coffee, undercooked runny fried eggs, didn't get Swiss and onion omelet as ordered and was charged extra for the breakfast potatoes that were to come with our meals. Ordered two eggs, bacon with potatoes and toast and an omelet and two drinks. Other than a single piece of toast we had nothing extra but we paid for more than we got. A fabulous fresh breakfast. We went simple with the traditional breakfast, but also had a muffin on the side which was fabulous. A great little spot away from the hustle but centrally located. I visited Blv Cafe located at Orange and Blvd of the Arts in the Rosemary District. It's a charming cafe and Chef Mica England adds to the charm. I had a latte and chocolate crousant and both were delicious. The coffee blend had a soft finish and the crousant exceeded any I have had in Paris. It was light, delicate, and a hint of sweet. Walked into Blvd Cafe expecting a great breakfast, charmed by setting, and decor. Ordered house specialty French toast with side of bacon, with the plan to split the calorie-heavy selection with my partner. Coffees arrive first: weak and pricey for drip coffee. Waitress asks if we want syrup with French toast, which I thought was odd because of the $2.00 charge. But we said yes. Then French toast arrives in a delightful "pool" of crème brûlée -like "syrup" so no syrup needed. I move the little dish of cold syrup off our table to the next table to let waitress know we aren't using it. Then I get the tab and there's a $4.00 charge for sharing (which is not mentioned when we put in our order--could have gotten a muffin had we known). All this to say, be prepared for an approx $40 tab for 2 (weak) coffees, shared French toast, side of bacon and don't bother ordering the unnecessary syrup. Ambiance and service was good and the French toast delish--but prices are just too high. Head to Central Ave. read more

Our experience was not positive. Our food arrived one hour after ordering. We were 2 people, one ordered muffin and coffee and the other a BLT. When the order arrived, the sandwich was bacon and egg and not BLT. After waiting one hour for the order to arrive, we did not send it back. When the check arrived, it was for the total of both people. We went to the counter to each pay our share of the total. However what happened was a credit card was charged for the total on the check. And also the second person paid her share of the check not realizing the credit card had been charged the total amount. the food was okay but its not someplace I will return to. Wonderful new cafe in the Rosemary District. Nice selection of fresh baked goods with gluten free options, which is much appreciated. We enjoyed the specialty omelet (lobster and asparagus today) and the "two eggs anyway" plate with optional vegan sausage.
