Fell a bit short of my expectations. I ordered an iced Mexican mocha with oatmilk, a couple of other drinks for the family, and the Kendra crepe. The drinks came out in a timely fashion, but my mocha was definitely made with regular milk and didn't have much flavor from the chocolate or the coffee. It tasted like cold milk with undissolved pieces of Mexican chocolate. The food took almost half an hour to come out, which is quite a long time for a to go order at a coffee shop. I understood they were a bit busy at the time, but the line wasn't bad and orders were taking a while to come out. I couldn't finish my drink due to the milk mix up but didn't request a remake because I just wanted to leave as soon as possible. The food was acceptable, but a bit bland. The salsa that came with it helped. Definitely a hefty price tag and a long wait for just okay food and coffee I wouldn't go out of my way for. If I go back it'll be to try the Cubano and skip the food unless I'm staying awhile. The staff was friendly and helpful though. Stars for that. This place is great for a coffee (and they have various!) and some light brunch. I've come here to study and they do have outlets for your laptop. I would also recommend this place to meet up with a friend over coffee and catch up. Great bakery selection and delicious paninis, sandwiches, and of course, avocado toast. It cant get busy so definitely arrive just a tad bit early to swipe a seat. read more

If you are looking for a decent cup of coffee, this may not be the place for you. It's usually an indicator when the person taking your order ask if you want a double or single and then charges you $0.60 for adding a shot to make it a double shot. Then they mess up on your coffee because they forgot to make it with oat milk, later goes back and charges you another $1.00 for oat milk, making this oat late close to $6, for something that is below average. The oat milk they use isn't even ideal for a latte, making it garbage. If you go to chromatic or voyager, you will likely pay the same for better coffee. read more

We came on a Friday morning and it was popping! It seems like a popular spot to hang out, study, and work. After about 2PM or so, the noise died down and was a quieter environment. There's several outdoor tables with umbrellas and some large tables for indoor seating. I went there to study and was pleased to find speedy free wifi; however, make sure your electronics are charged because there's a only a few hard to reach outlets available. For the menu, there are several breakfast foods available to order and a variety of coffee drinks as well. We ordered a bagel sandwich and 2 drinks. The Super Bagel was warm, steamy, and flavorful. The bagel was toasted and the tasty salsa really spoke out. The iced americano was just fine and the caffe latte with oat milk was good too. One of my friends also ordered a decaf americano, so that's an available option. Everything was good but I'm not sure if anything especially stood out to me from that one visit. This place has nice vibes and I would definitely come again to catch up with a friend. read more

I have been going here for years , and this morning I took my daughter and her friend for breakfast. She's sat in the corner with her friend and I sat on the other side to give them privacy. After 45 minutes she went to the counter to tell them that she still didn't get her food, I didn't realize this as I was eating on other side, and she mentioned that one of the girls behind the counter that she has been waiting for her food for 45 minutes, and said that the girl was snapped at her and told her you just need to wait your turn. So my daughter came to me, and I talked to one of the guys behind the counter that is ridiculous I shouldn't have to wait now 50 minutes for crepes. And I came to find out that they forgot her order. No my daughter doesn't wanna come back here ever again because she said she was afraid to go to the counter and ask because the girl was so rude to her. It's amazing how just one person can ruin your entire experience. My daughter said she never wants to come back here again. But on the bright side Paul who works there came over and apologized for the incident and I really appreciated that. It's good to know that there are people who care about their customers! Just discovered this place and so glad I did! I'm a huge fan of crepes and they make some really good ones. So far I've tried the Giovanni, Nutella and Churro crepes - all so delicious, and this coming from someone who just returned from a trip to France :) I'm also a huge fan of their cappuccinos. This is the kind of coffee shop I've been looking for in Almaden for so long! The place is spacious and flooded with natural light from the floor-to-ceiling windows, and there is plenty of comfortable seating and tables to sit. The coffee is quite good; I got a mocha, sat down for a relaxing read with my steaming mug and left very much satisfied. I cannot speak for the food, as I have only come to get coffee. The atmosphere is friendly and relaxed. There is also plenty of parking in the lot outside. An excellent place to chill in the morning with a good coffee when you're sick of the mediocre drinks and lack of seating at some of the other places. Highly recommended! read more

I liked the comfy plush seating, spacious and open floor plan, and atmosphere. There are lots of windows letting in natural light. You can even watch the crew making pastries. Food was great, too. I had a bagel which was fresh and loaded with cream cheese. Hubby had a breakfast platter with eggs and vegetables. He said it was great. Bathroom was clean and tidy. read more

Finally a local coffee shop that not only rivals Peets and Starbucks but surpasses them. Incredibly friendly and coffee-knowledgable baristas who love what they do and make sure your drink is perfectly tailored to your taste. I hate when i substitute coconut or almond milk for steamed milk and the barista is completely thrown off and the drink doesn't come out the same and its drastically different , but that is not the case here - they will substitute anything and make it taste really good. Try the cubano (an espresso drink specialty of Blvd coffee) or try my favorite the Cinnamon Twist, its so delicious. They also have Hawaiian coffee beans from Maui which I like. My new go-to coffee spot in south San Jose. read more

This is a late post but I love Blvd Coffee. My new favorite is the Cubano. I believe it's 4 shots of espresso pulled with sugar. For someone who is sensitive to caffine, I need to control myself. But the taste and aroma of the coffee here is so wonderful it's hard to pass up. I've also had their latte and cappucino on previous visits and I love the nice roasted taste. You definitely don't need to add sugar to their coffee because it stands on its own. Watch out Starbucks, Blvd Coffee will knock your socks off. Also, they have nice couches here for you to lounge and surf the net with free wifi! I've had the strawberry crepe at the other location and it was fantastic. Love the coffee, pastries and atmosphere

I used to be a regular at this store. I usually have decaf peppermint mocha with oat milk and it used to be delicious. The last time I was here I got the same with a veggie sandwich. I am not sure if they changed the oat milk they use, the mocha was super milky and there was hardly any taste of chocolate, peppermint or coffee. The sandwich was basically some squash and mushrooms between two slices of bread with no sauce or spread! I let it slide since I've had a positive experience here on most occasions. I went there again today and got the peppermint mocha and it was super milky like the last time. I had to pay for an additional espresso shot to get it to atleast taste like coffee. I am super bummed that there mochas aren't as good as they used to be. Not sure if they are any different with dairy milk or other plant based milks. read more

Good coffee cool place and I love the location because it's 1200 feet from the beginning of Golden Oaks park where we go running. Place is spacious and the service is good and friendly. After looking for a local coffee shop to support during these difficult times, I came across this one. WOW, the drinks are amazing. I had the Cinnamon Twist and the veggie sandwich. My friend had the Mexican Mocha and the Boarder Bagel. Both of us were very happy with our food and drink selection. The staff was all very friendly and welcoming. They are vegan friendly and is a place I will definitely go back to support. Loved how they took very good COVID precautions. It's unfortunate that today they had 7 staff members and they were not working as a team. No direction, no hustle and no care for the customers. It took 27 minutes for two toasted bagels with cream cheese. We received our 3 coffees within 5 minutes, but the bagels took another 20 minutes and came out cold. I approached the coffee bar asking for my order and was dismissed as being busy. Yet 3 staff members were standing around. Several other customers also inquired about their orders and again indifference. No sense of urgency, more like you'll get it when you get it. We have things to chat about and your order is not a priority. A patron brought in a canvas to put over the shattered glass door and the staff was insulted and expressed their feelings with poor vocabulary in front a small child. There are other local coffee places in the area that are more expensive and not as good. I came here for a big cup of good cold coffee and it delivered. What more could you ask for? read more
