Have given this business 3 strikes before posting this. 1) The barista at this shop has 0 sense of customer service. Tried to argue with me today that "we have a rule about minimum 3 coffee drinks before I can hand out a carrier for cups". How am I supposed to carry 2 drinks and a bag of food with 5 breakfast items in it? 2) this is the 3rd time (2nd consecutively) that this shop did not include 1 bakery item in the take out bag. 1st and 2nd time I ignored it thinking it is likely a mistake. Not going to ignore any more. Lastly, talking to other people within my community, am not the only one who has had sour experiences with this particular barista. During Covid I actively decided to give my $$ to local businesses. This is where I got my weekend breakfast and coffee often. Time to move on and find a new business. read more

We neighborhood ladies love having Blvd so close by. The brewed coffee and baked goods are good, barista drinks are hit & miss though depending on who is making it, and the facilities and bathrooms are always dirty and the employees don't seems to be sweeping the floors or replenishing the supplies or dumping the garbage in the bathroom very often. read more

They are a company that has tons of regard for the environment! I had a talk with the owner and he discussed with me his passion for composting and water conservation! He even pioneered the use of compost in the area of Los Gatos :D. The only reason why it is not a five star review is that the pricing is a little too much for me to properly enjoy my border bagel! I wish it wasn't as much as it is, or else I would get it every single day! However, sparcely ANYTHING is perfect in this day and age, and everything here is of quality to near perfection. read more

Wow. There's really nothing else I can say about this place except that. This hidden gem excels in every way, from its service to its quality goods, which are all made fresh in house everyday, to the excellent house roasted coffee and the beautiful rustic interior. I came in on a busy Sunday morning and was greeted by the manager Seth, who was extremely friendly and took his time with my order although there was a line out the door. He even offered to warm up my pastry, which honestly made it 100 times more delicious. I waited a few minutes for my drink (I ordered the cubano) and they served it to me in a tiny glass and it was beautifully layered. I enjoyed every creamy sip of it along with their house specialty pastry called a "cruffin" which was something of a mix between a croissant and a cinnamon bun. The warm flakiness of the pastry with the crunchy cinnamon sugar exterior was something I've never experienced before. Overall, 10/10 customer service and 10/10 pastries. As I sipped my Latte, I watched the Baker hard at work mixing and rolling the dough for tomorrow's bread and croissants, it's hypnotic! My boyfriend and I were looking for a good coffee place to satisfy his need, and I happened to find this place on Yelp. I figured why not give it a try? I'm so glad we did! We came in and looked at the coffee menu on the blackboard. We ordered the cop car (espresso with white and dark chocolate) and the Cubano (their signature drink). My boyfriend LOVED both drinks, especially the cubano. He says it really tastes like the strong and good quality coffee that he got used to drinking in Europe. I tasted both myself and agreed even though I'm not much of a coffee drinker (preferring the cop car for its slight sweetness). They have a stamp card too so don't forget to ask for one or get it stamped! The interior is nice and comfy with plenty of seating options and tables. They serve delicious bagels and paninis as well if you're hungry! They have wifi inside (just ask for the password!) Parking is great because it's in a nice size plaza with other establishments. I never give five stars. But I just did. My daughter and I were disappointed yesterday when we went to a coffee place and the coffee was lousy. So, we abandoned our $15 worth of coffee and pastries and came to Blvd Coffee. I ordered their specialty drink AND an Americano. The last place I was in gave me a watery Americano that was terrible so I wanted an immediate comparison. Like the place we were in fifteen minutes before, we told the server we were having it in and we got served in timely fashion and in a nice glass mug. Both of my coffees were fantastic and my daugher's drink was superb. The place was full -- a full house is always a good sign. And the baked goods were delicious. This is my neighborhood coffee shop to go to. It's always fun to see friends there, enjoy a cup of excellent java, and to eat something tasty and delicious. Even my children love to take their friends there. Blvd Coffee staff has always been super helpful and I have never had a disappointing coffee experience there. This place is super cute! I grew up in Almaden and right across the street from this shopping center. When I was home last, my mom and I went to get coffee and a bagel before heading to a baby shower. The inside of the coffee shop was inviting and somewhere I could see myself wanting to come back to do some work. The staff was super friendly and even though there were a lot of people in line they were very quick. I ordered the southwest bagel sandwich and I was not disappointed. The bagel had salsa on it which had a bunch of flavor and the bagels were definitely fresh. My mom had a croissant and again it was fresh and flaky. Whenever I am in town visiting my parents, I make it a point to stop here at least once and get a coffee and breakfast sandwich. It is a great addition to the neighborhood and something hat we had been missing for quite some time in this area of Almaden. read more

White Mocha is my absolute favorite drink here. It's super rich and creamy and just the right amount of sweetness. They also have the BEST chocolate chip cookies and white chocolate raspberry scones. Although, the drive is a bit far for me, it's definitely worth the trip. This was my first time here. I stopped for breakfast on the way to stay with my daughter at the hospital who is recovering from a very bad car accident. I mention this because I spend 13 hours daily at the hospital with my semi-conscious daughter, and really, really wanted to start my day off with some good food and a drink. Not too much to ask, right? 1. Medium Matcha Green Tea Latte I asked the guy at the counter if the matcha was from a mix with lots of sugar. He said, "no, It's lightly sweetened." I ordered the drink thinking it would be really good, with good matcha flavor since it didn't have lots of sugar. I got the drink and it was the worst matcha latte I've ever had. They are using a powdered mix with loads of fillers and sweetner. Absolutely no matcha flavor. Not even artificial matcha flavor. Terrible. Cheap imitation matcha and they are charging the same price as the real stuff. I didn't have the time or energy to ask for a refund. I was hoping my breakfast sandwich would pull me through the morning. 2. Egg, Ham & Cheese Croissant I left with my dissapointing fake non-matcha drink. At a stoplight, I took the first bite of my breakfast sandwich and realized I had my hopes way too high for this stripmall coffee shop. The croissant was too small, made with cheap oils instead of butter, was a little flaky, but mostly soggy-like when bread is microwaved. The scrambled egg tasted like "liquid eggs" from a carton, the ham had either no flavor or there wasn't enough, and half of the cheese was stuck to the wrapper. I had to eat something for breakfast so now I'm sitting next to my daughter's hospital bed with an oily ball of regret in my gut. I really did try to drink the "matcha" beverage to help wash down the breakfast sandwich, but couldn't stand the thought of mixing both of them in my stomach. So, I stopped at a Starbucks, threw out my matcha drink and ordered a new one. I told the woman about my dissapointing drink experience and she gave me my real matcha drink for free! Although things don't always go as planned, Life is good. Trust that things will all work out, and they usually do. read more

What a great way to start off my week!! I had a wonderful experience at this location this past Monday. The staff were very friendly and worked efficiently to have my order out on time! I love this place, been coming here for years! The manager is awesome, always very friendly and remembers my mom and I every time. The only thing I would say is that I have had some not so great customer service when the manager isn't there. But overall I love it! I got the iced vanilla latte and a chocolate cruffin!! Since moving out of Almaden for college I was pleasantly surprised when returning to Blvd Coffee. When it first opened I really enjoyed their food (i'm not too big of a coffee drinker). I did not plan on stopping in today but I was dropping my dog off at the groomers a few doors down. When I walked in I noticed the bakery that moved in next door. I could not resist the cruffins when I saw a fresh batch was just set out. My iced coffee tasted great and the cruffin was even better. Best coffee in LG area for sure!!! Definitely my favorite espresso and their food is awesome too. I definitely recommend trying the Cubano but you really can't go wrong no matter what you order. Their crepes are also amazing - super fluffy and flavorful - and great size for the price too. Service is great - they're always friendly and helpful. The folks that work there totally make it feel like the perfect neighborhood coffee shop. They're doing a great job on dealing with COVID stuff as well. Limited number of people allowed in the building and the floors are marked so social distancing while in line is easy and straightforward. Outdoor tables and chairs with umbrellas are also available and are already spaced out. They clean the tables regularly and there is also disinfectant spray available for the tables at all times. I've recently moved to a different part of town and am not as close, but I am here at LEAST once a week still because it's just truly the best. Highly recommend! One of the best small business coffee spots you can stumble upon here in the San Jose/Campbell border. I stumbled across Blvd coffee while ordering pressed juicery, and when I came in I was intrigued to see how busy this coffee shop was. I came back for the coffee, and was AMAZED. My usual spot was Hubs on Blossom Hill Road, until they closed! I had been searching for my go to coffee spot ( I am very particular when it comes to my coffee) and so HAPPY to have found my new go-to. Not only is their coffee amazing, but their quality of service. The cashiers and staff are always friendly and accommodating. I also have encountered the owner and they are always willing to go above and beyond to provide not only the best coffee but service/experience well. In this day and age , it is very hard to find! I have been coming to Blvd coffee for about a year now, and both of their locations have always exceeded my expectations every time. Definitely my top place to recommend and bring friends to. I so badly want to love this place but simply can't. Our first time here was the best experience and we were so happy to finally have a go-to coffee place in San Jose. However, every visit after that is a hit or miss, mostly miss. First knock - they are inconsistent with their proportions and therefore, their drinks are inconsistent in quality. Their white mocha sauce comes in a tube - which is of great quality - but causes their baristas to eyeball and make a judgement call on how much sauce goes into each cup. Sometimes it's really, really sweet and other times it tastes barely sweetened. Second knock - despite their big food menu, food is not their speciality. Anything with eggs is made on a giant griddle thing that's specialized for crepes. I ordered a veggie omelette with "fresh" vegetables and it was disgusting. Eggs tasted burnt and I had a combination of mushrooms and cucumbers as my veggies...We also notice every time we're there that the staff does NOT use gloves. We always see them spreading the cream cheese on bagels, pulling eggs out of the microwave, putting together sandwiches, etc. WITHOUT GLOVES. This, on top of the fact that they offer breakfast and don't know how to cook eggs, leaves me never wanting to order their food. Third knock - They are slooooooow. We'll come back if the hubs is craving a white mocha and feels like giving this a shot. But just as the star rating says: "Meh. I've experienced better." read more

This place used to be great, and I still love their inside space, but 10 minutes to get a latte and 20 minutes for a breakfast sandwich is just too long. Others were visibly annoyed today as they waited with cups of water in hand. The bathroom was a mess, the hand dryer didn't work, and there were no paper towel backup options. The rope delineators surrounding the parking lot seating area were lazily knocked over and not replaced. That said, it was still fairly crowded for a weekday, so I guess others weren't as frustrated as I was (at least not yet). Any decent competition would probably encourage Boulevard to get back to their originally successful ways, and I hope they do. Admittedly, I'll be keeping them in my morning rotation, but not quite as often as I used to. If they turn things around, however, I'll gladly return as a regular customer. read more

Went in again after 10min and was told the order was not there. Understand its a Sunday morning, and there is a long line. I love this Coffee Shop. The atmosphere is so comfortable, it's easy to park and the staff are wonderful. I used to go to the Los Gatos location all the time and was so happy when they opened a location closer to my home. They also have amazing food, including made to order crepes. I love how unindustrialized this place is. The atmosphere is lovely, cozy, and inviting. It's unique and different in a time where most specialty coffee shops would aim to create a modern and contemporary atmosphere, to which when it's overdone, it could feels unfamiliar and uncomfortable. Today was my first time visiting Blvd Coffee and it was such a rare experience for me. I came here around 10:30am with my baby and was blown away at home busy this place was. Coming from the east bay, I figured that by this time, a coffee shop would be filled with college students on their laptops with their heads down, ear phones plugged in and studying away. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw that the clientele was actually older (40's+) adults, just mingling and chit chatting away. Perhaps its because of the area I was in, but umm.. do ya'll not work? But hey, who the hell am I to say anything when I was there also. (I had a "day off" today) Anywho, I am giving this place 5 stars because I was absolutely blown away by how delicious the Cubano was.
