My hopes were high for BMC Pho, but the shrimp noodle soup and the boba teas were just A-okay in my notebook of Yelpiness. FOOD The broth in the shrimp noodle soup ($8.20) was just okay. I dumped all the hoison and Sriracha sauce plus the spicy jalapeños they gave me into it to help. The lime was just pitiful, turning brown and ish. They offered BOGO free deal on the teas (normally $3.95 each). Whoa were these babies on the sweet end and the boba was on the very firm to hard end. Both boba milk and boba Thai teas weren't "my cups of tea." Let's hope that's improved. SERVICE The lady at the register (11/2/18) was nice when she finally acknowledged my presence. One thing I didn't like was when I saw a different chick scrape something off of a tray with a spoon, then she put the same spoon back on the tray and served it to someone in the dining areaaaaaaaaaa. Afterwards, it was clear to see that this chick was in a foul mood. If I worked with her it might be a "meet me out back" situation everyday with her and me. ENVIRONMENT The dining area is a bit on the small side. I didn't check out the restrooms, but I hope they were cleaner than the tables were when I visited... and eventually took my order to go. While walking across the (free shared) parking lot I saw a man get out and check his wife's driving damage through the drive-thru. I don't know how she messed it up... This one is a local go to spot for me. My usual is the XO Fried rice but try different things here and there. The service is usually fast and friendly, have not experienced a negative one. They have variety of soups, rice and noodle dishes on the menu plus bobas and teas. Portion sizes are amazing for the prices as well. Tables are clean most of the time. Unfortunately BMC pho, was not able to meet my needs today. Today on 10/28/24 at 12:30 I placed an order on Uber eats for 1 order of spring rolls and 1 order of the XO fried rice. When it came to the door the spring rolls were there but not the fried rice, they gave us a bahmni steak sandwich. At first I wanted to blame Uber eats but I attempted to call BMC pho in pico Rivera 4 times (each time it ringed I waited for more than 90 seconds). Finally they picked up, a women on the phone admitted it was a mistake and she placed the wrong item in my bag. She said we could go pick the rice because it was ready, but i told her the reason we used Uber eats because we weren't able to go pick it up. So before I could ask for a voucher or store credit she hung up on me. What they offer as far as drinks is fairly basic, but their prices are right. They also offer two for one specials on their Boba milk teas. I ordered a Thai tea with boba and the flavor of the tea was excellent. I was slightly disappointed in the quality of the boba itself. It wasn't fully cooked and a bit hard in the center. Went back to try the sandwiches ... the bomb! Very soft bread and it was warm. Also tried the beef noodles - did not like the meat in the noodles , the noodles did not have enough flavor, won't get again but the nice surprise was the noodles also had shrimp ... This place has delicious food, we go between 11-2 when they have specials . Our dentist recommended so we make our dental appointment around 10:30 and stop here to get the specials. I think the soup could have used more flavor and more meat. Spring Rolls - Ordered some spring roles and was expecting some shrimp spring roles with a tasty dipping sauce and that is not what I got. The print roles had shrimp and I believe a slice of spam. I am not a fan of spam and the spam actually gave it a not so good taste. I guess if you like spam you should enjoy it but I sure didn't. Wont be getting those again. Then there was an issue. When I went to pay for my food their internet was not working. They reset it about two times and asked if I had cash. I did not. They then proceeded to tell me if I could come back and pay at a later time. At that point I was about to leave my food and just go home. The Thai tea boba had an excellent flavor to it, but that's it. The Thai tea out shined the pho (no#1) bowl. The best thing about this meal was definitely the Thai tea. I decided to just try something small and ordered the regular house coffee with the strawberry lemonade and I believe it was number 22 on the menu which was just the egg rolls. I have to say the eggrolls tasted fresh. And both drinks we're really tasty! This coffee is insanely strong but delicious. #5 Spicy Beef Noodle Soup (Bun Bo Hue) was surprisingly good. This is not pho but rather bun bo hue. So the noodle is thicker, different meats, and broth has a curry spice flavor. The bowl was good size with plenty of noodle (bun) and variety of meats. It was not too spicy which was perfect for me. It's very nice to see this new place in Pico Rivera especially since the location has been vacant for over a year before! I have never seen a pho place have a drive through but it's awesome and convenient. The food comes out fairly quickly. If you don't feel like hot soup on a hot day, they got a delicious #7 shrimp, bbq pork and egg roll with vermicelli noodles - served in a cute boat dish if you eat it there. For it's grand opening, if you upgrade your drink to a large size, you'll get a free and super cute drink bottle. I tried both the matcha latte and rose milk tea.
