Lavender Days! Lavender lemonade, cookies, donuts, ice cream and fudge. Ordered all to try. I really didn't get much lavender flavoring, except for in the fudge and the cookie, but that is not a surprise. Many people don't care for a strong lavender flavor, so there you have it. Fun to try all the goodies. Lots more at Boa Vista; we also bought two small frozen pies, a blackberry and a peach. In the warm weather, make sure you bring your ice chest so you can tuck your goodies away while you explore the Camino area. read more

Our group arrived around closing and the area was pretty much empty. There was plenty of parking in front of the market area. They sell fresh fruits and frozen products along with their stand on the far left that serves ready to eat donuts, pies, ciders, and other pastries and the bar on the back that sells hard ciders. We ordered and got our donuts immediately. Service was great!! 9/10 Blueberry sugar donut $2.50 - cake donut that was pretty good! The batter was soft, moist, and had a natural blueberry flavor. It wasn't too sweet! This was seasonal flavor but was better than the apple. 8/10 Apple sugar donut $2 - Their original and famous apple donut was also solid, but I think just flavor wise, wasn't enough apple and not as good as blueberry. Dough was same as blueberry. 7/10 Apple fritter $5 - I thought this was an average apple fritter. It was on the less sweet side, had more apple slices as a topping but the dough was not as good as the donuts. 10/10 Blueberry sugar donut with blueberry ice cream $8 - the difference being the blueberry ice cream definitely made quite a difference. The blueberry flavor was also strong on the ice cream and the mix between a warm pastry and cold ice cream was perfect! Only downside is how pricey this was just for extra ice cream. Came back! Boa Vista Orchards is a fantastic destination for a fun day out, especially during blueberry season. The big market is filled with fresh produce and homemade goods, and the variety of vendors adds to the lively atmosphere. We enjoyed tasting different apple ciders and indulging in delicious lavender ice cream, both of which were amazing. The kids had a blast on the short train ride and loved getting their faces painted at one of the vendor stalls. During the fall Season Expect to see more activities. read more

Plenty of local produce and other products for sale. Delicious apples and samples were available at their truck stand on-sight. This is a very popular site -- so glad we got there early before the crowds. Their fresh apple cider is the bomb. So sweet & refreshing. We came on a Saturday in October which is a very popular event. Parking can be difficult after 11 am but there's a parking lot across the street. Casual atmosphere with large wooden bins of apples, pears, and even tomatoes on the shelves. Apple Cider donuts are also sold with various baked goods. A hard-cider tasting is served at their bar (complementary one for each adult) and the flight is $12. Seemed to be very popular. Great fun during Autumn at Apple Hill. read more

Boa Vista Orchards was our first stop at Apple Hill. They had thr cutest little pumpkin patch and train ride for the little ones that was great priced. They had a little craft fair going on with so many different things for everyone to enjoy. They have a viewing area where you can see how their apple cider is made. We went and bought some Pies from them. We recommend the Dutch Apple Pie! We also had the chance to taste a fresh slice while we were there. They had a sample station where you can try different items They offer on their Orchard. They had Pickles which were so good and they even had Apple Saur Kraut. Which I enjoyed! Boa is one of my Apple Hill favorites! Their delicious apple doughnuts are amazing! I also love their peach turnovers (when in season). I always buy their apple butter, peach preserves and their peach salsa! There are bbq sandwiches if you choose to have lunch while visiting. Lots and lots of produce and novelty gifts and lots of sweet treats to be had. The grounds are well kept, service is friendly and the vibe is very low key. A pet friendly place with well kept grounds that make for perfect photo ops! The grounds get busy, especially during peak season, so arrive early if you want to avoid the long lines. read more

This place is cool because there is parking on both sides and in the middle is the market. You can buy sweets like caramel apples and other goods, there's a refrigerated section with the ciders, there's a bar isn't the back for those over 21, there's a food stand you can buy snacks/meals and drinks at, and also a bakery where they serve the donuts and fresh pies. They have stands with vendors selling different items like jewelry and clothing so you can shop around while you're there and plenty of picnic tables to eat all of your goodies on. Bring cash! We have been coming here for years. Last year when we came up we tried the brisket sandwich and it was really good. This year I was looking forward to ordering it again. However, this time is was really salty and not how I remembered it. I hope they switch back to the old way of making their brisket. Boa Vista is a beautiful spot for pickled goods, apple cider, and sweet desserts. We had donuts and ice cream with pie. Everything was super sweet and delicious. We decided to stay for a real meal and ordered the Brisket Sandwich and a Double Cheeseburger. These are probably the only awful things offered here at the Orchard. It was actually just bread and dry meat with a side of chip, but the Cheeseburger at least came with cheese. I'd recommend purchasing anything thing else, but to just stay away from these two items unless you're really into meat like that. All the employees are nice and helpful. We came home with Spicy Garlic Pickles, Pickled Asparagus, Pickled Carrots, and Olives. read more

Everything was getting packed up and put away at 5. We wanted to get some cider because we had not gotten the opportunity to, and no one wanted to help us. When someone finally did she had a nasty attitude which made the experience honestly suck. We stopped by the bakery next and it was the same thing. Super dull energy. I understand it's an hour until closing but is it not your job to still be attentive and at least act like you're happy? Unfortunately I don't think I would support this business again. If you go to Apple Hill, you HAVE to visit Boa Vista farm - at least I do. It's a tradition for me to go to Apple Hill every year during the Fall. I always get a few of their apple cider; it's the best, in my opinion. It tastes so good and nothing like fresh cider in the Fall. They also have a huge selection of other produce here including frozen baked goods that you can take home and bake. I love to bake, so I will either try it or make my own versions at home. You can't go wrong with visiting the many farms at Apple Hill, but Boa Vista is one of my favorites. They also have plenty of parking and they have a pumpkin patch also in the Fall. And Boa vista is just basically a big farm stand with lots of retail food specialty items, long lines for cider or doughnuts or to make purchases, confusing signage and not a lot to do besides shop, get in line, eat, get in line, drink, get in line..., There were a few sad little vendor booths and welp that's about it. barrel train ride tickets were $5 each. I thought maybe there would be some actual orchards to wander in or maybe a little playground, more than one photo op? Some live music? The basic idea is to shop, eat, drink, stand in line. They have samples so you can taste some of what's available. The apples are outstanding, the Apple Beer has no Apple taste I could detect, and the dumplings are great. While on my first visit to Apple Hill in over a decade, I decided to come to Boa Vista Farms by recommendation. I was told they had really good hard ciders which I'd never had while here before, so I figured I'd check them out with the family. Boa Vista was our second stop of the day and we arrived after having an early lunch at High Hill. We frost tried some samples at a small booth outside and then went to the bakery where I ordered a blackberry dumpling. And then tried a couple samples of hard cider before my mom, girlfriend and I each got a glass of the blackberry cider and I got a half growler to go. Both the blackberry dumpling and blackberry hard cider were surprisingly delicious, and I'll for sure be coming back for more. And next time I'll save my appetite for the food here, because I was really disappointed at that food we got at High Hill. And just the smells coming from the grill at Boa Vista on arrival, made all of us completely rethink our earlier lunch decision. There is a wine and cider tasting area to taste samples before you buy, strawberry sangria, drinks by the glass, and a tasting of 7 wines for $10.99 or wines by the glass. Lastly, a bakery with an assortment of doughnuts, turnovers, and whole pies. I had the strawberry glazed doughnut it was good but very dry. Took a trip up to Apple hill farms last weekend....hadn't been up here since I was in my twenties..so let's just say it's been one long minute! Plenty of things have changed like more developed looking store fronts but still has its barn yard charms. My fav is Boa Vista Orchards. It has a big shopping center where can get lots of goodies of the apple variety or other flavors. Hit up these other farms on your way thru Placerville... Abel's Acres, High Hill Ranch, & Rainbow Orchards. If your not a fan of apples, then don't go in the fall season. There is spring and summer.. with other fruits like cherries , peaches, melons.
