I have had only great experiences here. Since the first visit 3 years ago and the consistent sessions I've had here I have not one complaint. The entire place is clean and offers top quality service. The friendly atmosphere alone makes you feel comfortable and it is clear that all the artist are knowledgeable and highly-skilled. Extra special shoutout to James for all of my tattoos. I have lost track of which is my favorite as they are all equally amazing! I recommend this shop to anyone who is interested on getting some work done.

This disaster of a cross tattoo cost more than 400.00, and they took advantage of the fact it was my first tattoo.

I absolutely loved Luis working on my beautiful tattoos! He went above and beyond what I even imagined from the inspiration picture. The staff was kind and lovely. The shop was clean and professional . Luis is now one of my favorite artists and I want him to work on all my future pieces !

I am here as a first time tattoo documentarian and voyeur. i was welcomed into the shop as though i was the recipient. things i noticed as a woman with an eye for detail: place is cleaaaaan, clean clean. the floor where you dont even have work done - clean. the floor where they do the work - clean. counters? clean. love this. vitally critical. the team on site - kind, hospitable. as not the customer, i appreciated this. gave me water!! i love that!!! the space - clean, i mentioned? fun!!!! art all over and other interesting pieces to keep me entertained. honestly, lots of stuff to look at. im partial to the stuffed heads. the artist - Kal - allowed me tag along, take pics of the process, maybe be a little annoying as a neophyte but also high tolerance for such. he sized, resized. took his time to get it right, which i feel as someone who is not getting a tattoo, is the most important thing. i felt really welcome and the subject did, too. she was thrilled with the experience. the team here really worked together as one, which was fun to see. as the person very much on the outside, i felt insidey and along for the ride. 10/10 would recco and accompany again.

I've gotten three tattoos from Shawn here and absolutely love all of them! The shop itself is very nice and clean, and everyone who works here is super friendly. Shawn does great work, is fast (which I appreciate because I'm a wimp!), and patient (you always feel comfortable giving feedback on the design or having it moved to a slightly different spot if you want to)! Just got a tattoo as a walk-in here with Noah for a homies bday we got matching pieces and he was super accommodating, fast and super friendly. I called before going to get some basic information about getting my nose pierced. When I got there parking was easy in front of the shop. I walked in and the shop was clean, roomy and welcoming. Two of the guys in there greeted me upon entry and then Seth, my piercer came out to explain to me what to do next. Once the paperwork was complete, I went to the piercing area and Seth was kind in answering all my questions as I was freaking out a little. I did like they had different options for jewelry. He was gentle with the actual piercing (don't twist it the actual piercing hurt lol) and putting the jewelry in. Everything was seamless and I will be back for a tattoo or to change my piercing. I recently was tattooed by Dan and I couldn't be happier with the result. I saw his work on a few different people before I decided to go to him, plus his name kept coming up as I was researching artists. I wanted a very traditional Japanese koi and it came out perfect! What started off as a mission to get an old tattoo covered up, became a sleeve tattoo project, and I'm not even mad about it. I head about Boartooth tattoo from a great friend of mine. After admiring her tattoo work one day, she mentioned the shop and I decided to reach out to Daniel to see if he could cover up an old tattoo. Daniel was kind enough to walk me through my options. I didn't feel like I was being pushed to get something, Instead we went back and forth until I decided what worked for me. Since my first session, Daniel has been kind and extremely professional. I cannot speak to the quality of their tattoos or even their piercings. My nose is already pierced, but I came into this shop to get my nose ring switched out. I debated leaving this review because the employees were pleasant and friendly, but the jewelry turned the area around my nose ring black and it became extremely tender and sore. I ended up having to go to a different shop to have them take it out and replace my nose ring. That shop said the quality and material of the jewelry was extremely poor and should not be used for an area as sensitive as your nose. For the price that I paid for this nose ring, I would expect better. Almost a year later, that area is still Black and has not healed. read more

Established in 2005.

Daniel Werder was born and raised in Colorado Springs, a town that was extraordinarily conservative; however he came from a liberal family and was encouraged to be a free thinker, creative and artistic. His family's love of music and performance translated for him into dance and art. With drawing always in the background, Daniel's focus turned to dancing which motivated his move to California in 2001. With substantial success as a dancer under his belt, he felt complete with that art form and when he found a tattoo machine Daniel's interest was sparked. Daniel's style continues to develop due to a willingness to remain a student of life and art. He dabbles with most styles in order to stay well rounded, but excels in color theory, American traditional and Japanese traditional. His forte is using the symbolism of these traditional styles, pulling influence from mythology and ancient woodblock artists (his favorite being Yoshitoshi) and creating innovative combinations and blending.

June created a beautiful design based on my references and feedback and added little touches that made it even better. When I showed up to my appointment, I was a little anxious, but it was such a cozy, beautiful studio and I felt welcomed and at ease by Rob and June. June took such great care to cover up the scars I wanted covered and make it look beautiful and flow well with the natural curves of my leg, and made sure I was comfortable throughout. After she finished her work, she brought out the professional camera to get the best pictures possible and promptly sent them to me the same night. You can tell she takes pride in her work (as she should!) I will absolutely be back for more tattoos in the future, and maybe add more to my leg sleeve. It was definitely worth the drive from San Diego to work with the right artist who made my vision come true!

Today, it has been 3 days since we got the tattoo and although the tattoo itself is small, has fine lines, and is on the wrist, it appears as if it has a smear/smudge on one of the corners on both tattoos. This isn't my first tattoo, and my husband and I have been following the after care and have been careful. It's on the healing stage, but you can tell that the corner line differs and there is a smudged area on both tattoos. For both these it was $240 total and done by Chris. I will update this review once the tattoos heal completely.

My feet have been through it the last couple of years (sports) and I wanted to get serious about caring for them properly, not just getting them painted. Of course, I turned to Yelp for the scoop and zeroed in on Ms. Glen's Therapeutic Manicures & Pedicures. I finally got a chance to go see Ms. Glen and it was everything I wanted and more. It was relaxing (I fell asleep)! It was restorative! My feet felt and looked healthy and cared for. I didn't get polished which is great because I have been wanting to go natural for a while to let my nails breathe and focus on what's really happening with my toe nail health. So may things I loved (in no particular order): - Very communicative from the appointment (via phone) to the confirmation and directions (via text) - Ms. Glen greeted me at the door - The studio smells divine (really sets the tranquil mood) - The studio was intimate (just me - yay) - The space was very clean (I am a stickler for clean) - There was a complimentary water waiting on me - Ms. Glen has developed her own techniques and products which speaks to her dedication and specialization (I love people who are passionate about what they do!) - Every step of the treatment was appreciated! (very detailed, very attentive, think - pampering your feet from the in-depth massage to the parrafin to the soaks to the grooming and much much more) - I got socks! This was such a special and much needed last step that I never knew I needed. It made my feet more comfortable and protected after such a beautiful treatment. She even asked me my size. How's that for customer service! - Now this one may seem trivial but I never had to hold my feet up during the treatment unless I was transitioning from the bowl to a towel. I do not like having to do that while someone attends to the bottom of my feel or heels. Ms. Glen has it worked out where I can truly relax the whole time. I also left with one of Ms. Glen's therapeutic hand and foot oils in Lemon. She makes the oils herself! It smells so good and leaves a refreshing but not overpowering scent. It feels good oiling my feet every night. Like another reviewer said, this is not your run of the mill pedicure shop. This is a therapeutic service that is worth every penny. My goal is to make this a regular treatment. If my feet are healthy, I am healthier! Thanks Ms. Glen for such a wonderful experience! I'll be back. If your feet are in need of TLC, renewal and restoration, Ms. Glen has a carefully curated service that will leave your feet feeling brand new. I had recently purchased a soap that helps with skin discoloration. It hasn't been making any improvement in the uneven skin tone and dark marks on my feet. Turns out I just needed an appointment with Ms. Glen. The exfoliation she provided literally rubbed away 15 years from my feet. My dry scratchy heels were left supple and smooth and the calloused areas were left soft. Had I known what I was in store for I would have taken before and after pictures. She even provided socks for me to leave in, to seal in the moisture. My favorite part hands down was the massage. She kneaded into these tired soles, and I needed that! I paid a little more than the price listed (which she does quote as a base price) but she also spent almost 2x the amount of time listed. My Fiancé noticed the difference in appearance and feel immediately. I intentionally waited until 24 hours+ had passed to write this review, wanting to see if my feet would feel just as nice. THEY DO!! Ms. Glen definitely puts pride in her work and I love how she checked in throughout the process to ensure I was satisfied along the way. I recommend her service to anyone looking to give their feet a more youthful feel and look. And if your feet have severe issues that might keep you from visiting open public salons, her private suite will help you feel comfortable and secure. Right before I left, Ms. Glen threw in a bottle of her therapeutic hand & foot oil once she saw how dry my hands were. I had discussed my upcoming nuptials with her and she wanted to make sure my hands moisturized properly for my big day, even providing a demonstration on proper application. Ms. Glen is a gem!

I trusted the front desk staff to guide me, and was quoted $80 for Gel-X, builder gel removal, and French tip. At my appointment on Friday 7/18, I was unexpectedly charged $110! I was told the card on file couldn't be used for the service--only for late fees or no-shows--which made no sense. If the salon can charge the card for penalties, why not for the actual service being provided? This was especially frustrating because the appointment was a gift for a huge accomplishment of mine, from my mother, so of course I didn't have the physical card with me. On top of that I was also charged extra for nail length without warning, and billed twice for polish: $20 for gel color and $15 for French tip, even though I only received 1 design; french tip. When I asked for clarification, staff just pointed to the online pricing--but I booked in person to avoid that confusion. The experience felt misleading. I intentionally came in person to avoid confusion and relied on the staff to guide me accurately. Unfortunately, that did not happen. I would not recommend this salon to anyone. If you're considering booking here, I strongly suggest looking elsewhere for more transparent and customer-friendly service.

Taylor is hands down my favorite person to have tattoo me. Not only is her work stunning, unique, intricate, and carefully done - SHE is also such a delightful person to be around. When you're looking for a new tattoo artist, it's important to find someone who not only produces incredible work but also makes you feel listened to, comfortable, and really works with you to ensure that the art you're having done is EXACTLY what YOU want. Taylor has always been more than willing to work with every tiny request I've had, from minor changes to switching from black and white to full color. She really listens and puts her heart and soul into every single tattoo she creates and that is obvious when you see them. I have multiple tattoos from Taylor and every time I've visited the area she has made sure to squeeze me in her busy schedule (I live in another state). I've gotten tons of compliments on the tattoos she's done for me and having her artwork on my body has drastically improved my self confidence and has made me feel more beautiful. The tattoo's she's done for me have all been large - she is always very compassionate and does everything she can to make it as painless as possible. I will continue to get tattoos done by Taylor every time I'm in the area. She is also very reasonably priced for the high quality work she produces. Came into the shop around 2:00pm pacific standard time. I was greeted immediately by one of the most beautiful girls I have ever seen in the 24 years I have been alive. Aside from the stellar service and amazing vibe that this shops carries, I was mesmerized by the unique and vibrant art work that surrounded my soul. I am new to the Culver City area and I was looking for a tattoo shop that could work with any style I preferred. EVERY single artist in this shop has an amazing gift and they catered to every idea that I brought to the table. Daniel at Boartooth is a true artist, his skill set is vast and it's evident that this guy is an artist you will readily wait for (he is booked out a few weeks so make an appointment). I have about 5 pieces by him now and more to come. I continue to work with Daniel for his ability to originate something beautiful and bold out of my often vague ideas that are usually based off a theme more than an actual image - he's an interpreter of imagination and has a strong talent for creating something completely one of a kind. His attitude is also awesome, he'll always be honest if his professional opinion has a suggestion to make your idea better too which I appreciate a lot. The whole vibe of the shop is welcoming and friendly, all the guys working there are very cool - I appreciate the atmosphere as I've found the attitude amongst many tattoo shops can be intimidating or judgmental, not the case here. I came here in September to get a tattoo from Kal. While I love my finished piece, I have a few complaints, not the least of which is permanent ink bleeding around both sides of the tattoo. To start, it was the most painful tattoo session I've ever had. I thought maybe cause I'm getting older, tattoos must just hurt more. I have a lot of work and have never been in so much pain during a session. The day after, my leg was VERY SWOLLEN, like my body was having a clear reaction and I thought I noticed a bit of bruising, which I've also never experienced. Over the course of the last 4 months, the "bruising" has not dissipated at all and I now realize is an actual ink bleed, which makes sense because of how deep he was going. I have communicated my disappointment to Kal, and even asked for a refund, to which he has denied, and now stopped responding to my texts (re: possibly finding a solution) I have never regretted a tattoo more. read more

Checked his reviews and pics and, as an art collector and a very picky customer decided to give a chance to Evan. This was my first tattoo experience but I didn't want to seem as an amateur so I did some research. Great reviews and colors on some tattoos done by Evan definitely gave me some confidence but then we met and talked in person and I liked his personality and professional attitude. Also, this tattoo place is nice, clean and gives me the art gallery vibe as well. I got a huge tattoo of this gorgeous rooster. Can't wait for one more session and colors and will post pics. Shout out to Luis for doing an amazing job on my friend's bicep area and shoulder. My friend wanted to get a tribal tattoo to finish up his left arm and so far, based on the outlines Luis did, it looks remarkable. Luis shows that he has an expertise of doing tribal tattoos. Even without the full design completed, we just know that it'll come out amazing and glad that we chose Luis to do our tribal tattoo. The symbols that Luis drew really gave us a unique depth into his artistic style and that it blew us away that he was able to deliver way more than we had expected. Boartooth is a great classic tattoo shop. I've been tattooed by a few of the artists here but most recently Shane who did a large Oni mask on my calf. The tattoo is healing great and Shane is super professional with his work. He also is great about making sure you're comfortable while sitting for your tatt and makes sure to ask if you've had some food and enough water before your appointment. All around great shop with a great group or artists that can do anything from flash to full custom large scale pieces. Highly recommend coming in here to get some work done. Even if you're just thinking about it go in and take a look at some of the hand painted flash on the walls you'll definitely find something sick. read more

I definitely recommend Boartooth. My wife had work done with Vincent last year, and I was so impressed that I decided to do my latest tattoo with him as well. I've now had over a dozen tattoos done, and I feel like I know a good artist when I see one. Vincent is excellent. He cares about the artwork and was interested to talk about the ideas and theory behind the tattoo itself, which meant a lot to me, as I put a lot of time and thought into each one that I get. Annie switched out my nose piercing (I was getting an irritation bump with my old stud) and pierced my conch. Both procedures were easy, painless, and quick! Annie was great, super friendly and welcoming and answered all my questions. After going to another piercer about the irritation bump who gave me bad advice, it was nice to speak with a professional who knows what she's doing. I trust her judgement entirely. I've been a loyal client of Gina Serpentina who just joined the shop. She does awesome color American traditional tattoos! She stays true to American traditional while being super creative and packing in bold color. I forgot to mention I asked Annie about some piercings Id gotten elsewhere and how they're still irritated after having them for a year, she walked me through different kinds of metals that could irritate skin and gave me some recommendations. I immediately went home and ordered what she recommended and they haven't been irritated since. Annie is the best! I realized late on a Sunday night that the back of my one-week old piercing (from somewhere else) had pushed back into my ear and the skin had healed over it. Annie was able to help me out on short notice, re-pierce the back of my ear, access the whole piercing, and swap it out to a bigger bar and back so that it didn't happen again. She was super nice, efficient, and clearly very good at what she does. She also made me feel really comfortable when I was pretty freaked out about the situation. Ash has been piercing me and styling all my body jewelry since 2021! Threw in some pics of what we styled in my ear/nose recently too. They're incredibly good at explaining each step of the piercing process and make it really easy to get comfortable. I've now gotten three pieces done by Noah Fox and I'm planning on coming back for lots more. All of the artists at this shop are super down to earth and incredibly talented. It's such an amazing experience getting tattooed at this shop all around. Noah is a BEAST with his machine and works quickly with CLEANNNN lines and beautiful artwork. The tattoos I've gotten at Boartooth are all my favorites and make me feel so much more confident. 1000% recommend stopping by and getting whatever piece you've been dreaming of.
