My friend , husband and I went here for brunch one day and the overall experience wasn't bad but I wasn't too impressed with my food. My friend and I both had burgers and weren't happy with the actual beef meat, it tasted like it had come out of the freezer. My husband had eggs, hash browns and pancakes and seemed quite happy with his meal. I guess the key would have been to have breakfast and not lunch. If you want a traditional breakfast in Columbia this is the only place I know of. I don't want frills. I want bacon and eggs, sausage, and biscuits and gravy. Bob Evans gives you that. We waited a little less than half an hour before finally being seated, and that was after reminding the lady in charge of seating that people were being sat ahead of us. The, it was another 10 minutes before we flagged a waiter to our table. To be fair though, from what I heard there was a staffing issue-- the language was very vague, but I think the manager or cook was missing. So it's entirely possible that you won't have this problem. I've been to this Bob Evans about three times now and this will be the last time I'll be eating here. Staring with the good: the food is delicious and pretty cheap for the huge portions plus, they always have coupons so you get an even bigger discount. I've had breakfast, lunch and dinner items here and each and every time, the food has been great and that's the only reason I gave it an extra star. Now to the bad: the servers here are astoundingly rude (even though the manager seems nice) and the service time can be slow even when there aren't many people there. The servers I've had for my last two visits here, talked to me and my family/friends in a passive aggressive way and treated us as if we're stupid. I've had bad service before but never rude servers. And I would understand if there were a lot of diners or we were being rude but that wasn't the case at all. I will never be coming back to this Bob Evans again but thankfully there are other ones nearby. read more

But day 2 we had to send back the cold, over cooked eggs and it took way to long for a glass of apple juice. It just seemed a bit inconsistent. What is it about friendly service? Finally, a place where you walk in and don't feel like you're inconveniencing the host to seat you/serve you (in my case for carryout). I had a very nice experience here and having had several poor experiences at other restaurants lately, I figured I better mention it. In any case, this place is CHEAP and has lots of lovely breakfast/lunch choices. I had a chicken pot pie - yum.. so rich and some blueberry stuffed crepes - also good - filled with cream cheese and covered with blueberry topping that actually has real blueberries in it. The pot pie came with a side - opted for corn - but don't recommend - too salty. Also had two biscuits as well. The server was kind enough to ask whether I wanted butter and jam (and even what flavor jam). How nice! Definitely recommended for cheap breakfast or lunch! read more

I had breakfast here this morning with my daughter and her friend. I have not been here in years. The food was bland. How can anyone mess up a pancake? It should be light and fluffy but mine was thick and nasty. The fried eggs were tasteless. Why does this place exist. The worst breakfast ever. I should have gone to Chick Fila across the street. All the waitress and waiters suck, except for Ms. Angel, a young lady doing everything, serving and busting tables and even cleaning tables. Even the cooks suck. If you decided to order the Bob Evan's Farm House Feast for you and your family's Christmas Dinner and you order from the store in Columbia on Benson Drive, make sure you check the contents before you leave. Per the COVID curbside takeout rules, I pulled up, called to have my order brought out, popped the trunk and waited. The team member came out, dropped the box in the trunk and shut the lid. I started off but had a feeling I better check that nothing spilled. I moved to a parking spot, inventoried the box and found the containers all fallen over but okay. Then realized there was no whole pumpkin pie in the box. I caught the attention of another team member out side and explained the issue. She went in and returned to inform me that per her manager, they are running out of pumpkin pie, would I like a different one. I said yes and she returned with an apple pie. As I'm driving home I got more and more infuriated to realize that a known issue existed and no one bothered to let me know. I would have had to drive home, unpack dinner and then drive back to try and explain that they failed to totally fill the order. read more

Great homestyle meals, I almost always go during breakfast time and get amazing service from Jonathan. Food it always warm and fresh and pies are delicious and impossible to leave the restaurant without! They semi-recently renovated and the place looks great. Weekend morning wait times can be a little crazy (today we waited 25minutes, not that bad but I was really hungry so..) and it's definitely not very quite Saturday's and Sunday's but the food and service I receive is totally worth it, pretty decent price point too! read more

Whenever I go to this Bob Evans I always ask for this one waiter that has been there forever he is really good.. I never have an issue with him. I am not giving this place more stars because of most of the server staff is not good. Either forget stuff or take forever to come back with refills. I once asked a manager for more butter, and I had go up and ask someone else for more butter myself after my meal was getting cold. We were being seated for our table of 5. The hostess brought us to a table with 3 chairs. We had to grab 2 chairs from an empty table. We did not have flatware or placemats and they were out of coffee. One of our party had to wait 15min just to get a cup of coffee. It was brought by a random waitress. It had grounds and we were not given a spoon. We asked for a spoon, and we asked for flatware. The waitress said "Hey, I'm just doing a favor" while walking off. She brought back a single spoon. Several tables came and left, we still had not been served. My brother went to check in with a woman at the counter. When she realized that we did not have place settings or flatware. After she left, the guy bussing the table next to us had placed his bussing bin too close to the table's edge, so it slipped off the table, splashing fluids and food everywhere. He apologized. She brought them to us. The manager, who was our waiter, apologized for the wait and said that. We were coming up soon. After we finished the trivial pursuit game available on the Heinz ketchup bottle, our food was brought to us. The salad did not have dressing and they informed us at the table that they were out of crepes,so they brought us French toast. At least the hot food was hot, so that was okay. We were not comped anything on the bill, which would have been appropriate. This was my first and most likely my last trip to a Bob Evans. I really don't see what all the fuss is about. read more

And, if its your first time at Bob Evans you have to enter the portal to a world which you didn't know could exist. Service: questionably entertaining, no wait, unquestionably entertaining. If you easily become angry at servers prolly don't go here. Food Quality: on Par with your standard TV Dinner (microwave). Order the potato soup, get mac-n-cheese cheese sauce with potato chunks. We figured it out guys, we ordered the mac-n-cheese.... Facilities: out of the Food's league. If the facilities matched the food "prolly don't go in there" would be your gut reaction. So, good facilities. The Bill: ours needed correction, twice. This may be a unique experience however. Price: Fair. Couples with a coupon these guys will become economically advantageous. In all honesty it wasn't the worst meal. Not as good as Denny's. It feels weird saying that but its true. Will we come back? Maybe, but we don't talk about that. read more

The service was good. But for a restaurant that caters to the breakfast crowd, their pancakes taste like something out of a box and watered down. Please consider doing a couple things to make them tasty such as making the batter from scratch. Also, just whip your own butter like all the other breakfast chain restaurants. This restaurant went from being consistently great, to not so good, and now they are back to being a good value. The trouble is that there is a lot of inconsistency depending on the timing of my visits. There are some folks here who have been at their jobs for many years. They know how to get things right. What surprised me is that it appears that the wait staff has a lot to do with how well the kitchen is doing. I've watched closeley and I've seen numerous examples of the wait staff pushing for the kitchen staff to deliver better product. I went to Bob Evans today for lunch while wearing my Uniform. The waiter was extremely polite and professional. He had a British accent. My salad was delivered within minutes of ordering. My delicious fish sandwich was served immediately when I finished my salad. I asked for the check. A few minutes later the waiter came back and told me my meal was paid for. I was shocked. I've had drinks paid for before after the Marine Corps Ball, but never an entire meal. I told the waiter I insist, but he refused. I asked the waiter who paid for my meal, and he declined to comment. I left a nice tip in appreciation. To whoever paid for my meal, thank you very much! Kindness is few and far between it seems these days. I had stopped going to Bob Evans for about three years. The service was bad and having to tip the people was not worth it. However, this week we decided to try again because we really liked the soup .We ordered and picked it up and we were happy with our order. Today we decided that because it was cold we would order soup again. I called and asked for our three favorite soups, they said the soups would be ready in 10 minutes. I told my son to go pick them up, he had to make a stop at the store and then go to Bob Evans. He went into the restaurant and gave them my name the order was not ready. A lady went to get the order ready , she told my son that the soups were cold, he assumed that it was because he was a little late. When got home he said that the soup was cold and I replied that's ok we will heat it up. Well, I pulled out the soup and it was refrigerated cold. I called and they said they sell the soups cold, not true two days before they were hot. Will not go to Bob Evans again!!!!! read more

Two bad experiences in a row at this Bob Evans Restaurant. The last time they were out of eggs! Really? At a restaurant known for its breakfasts? This time, our group included two kids who were ready for some pancakes for dinner. You guessed it, a restaurant that advertises "breakfast all day" was out of pancakes. And, out of home fries! The service was also less than good. The waiter tried, but didn't seem to have enough energy to pay attention. We ordered two child drinks (you know, plastic cups with lids) and got two adult size drinks. Asked the waiter to change the drinks and got them back in smaller glasses! Then, we had to make substitutions for the unavailable items. When the food finally appeared (took about twice the normal time and the place was virtually empty), we realized we had no silverware on the table. We are disappointed as this particular restaurant was a regular and frequent stop for us. For the foreseeable future, we'll drive a little further to one of the other Bob Evans stores in the area. read more
