Staying at the Homewood Suites Hilton across the street, so had to try it out! Went in on a Sunday at around 10:00am, so it was busy. I waited maybe 10 minutes for a table, which was fine. Waitress was kind, but heard her mutter to herself something along the lines of "Don't sit the 1's, sit the 4's". Yes ma'am, I need a girlfriend, thanks for the reminder. The 8ft long counter with 5 stools was full to capacity, so I'm not at fault for that. And maybe I'd rather sit comfortably in a table instead of a small, crammed counter. But anyway... I ordered the Farmer's Choice breakfast, and everything on it was great. Coffee was good as well. Prices were very reasonable imo. I would definitely recommend this place for breakfast. read more

Came here for the first time yesterday because Ihop was an hour wait, and it was just ok. The wait was around 20 minutes, but when we got seated, there were empty tables all around us. Our waitress was friendly enough. Few minutes passed, 2 other tables, with 2 gentlemen each, sat down, placed their order, and 5 minutes later their food came out. Mind you, it was just me, hubby and our toddler. Our food came out about 5 minutes later, 1 at a time between 3 different servers. Okay. We asked the second server lady dressed in a blue collar shirt with black pants if we can get some ketchup and hot sauce. She came back with about 5 packets of ketchup and dumped it on our table. Hubby and I looked at each other like we were at some fast food restaurant. Who dumps packets of ketchup at a sit down restaurant. Anyways, it wasnt enough so we asked our original server if we can have the bottle, they were out, so she brought us more in a small dish. It is Bob Evans afterall. I go pretty often because I'm a huge breakfast foods person, and their banana bread is bomb. (And I'm usually in late, around 7-8pm) The only thing that sucks about this place? The service. Oh its so awful. When you walk in it takes a moment for someone to notice you standing there, then they seat you. And instead of asking you about drinks then, they walk off and you wait. Waiting seems to be the theme around this place. We've been 3 times now, each time with a different waitress, and none of them cared to write our order down. Two of these times, our order was obviously screwed up. My bread was forgotton several times, and when I finally did get it, it was cold. (Supposed to be warmed) - I frequently went without beverage, as they don't like to check on you that often. My coffee was also forgotten about when I ordered that too. My parents got me hooked on Bobby Evans as the prefer to call it a long time ago. They have a lot of my favorites on the menu like Grits and their sausage :). They are a chain and like any other chain there standards are pretty much the same at all locations. I like them as my go to breakfast place. I like the fact that you can get what ever is on the menu at any time of the day. This location is clean and the staff are friendly. Sorry I don't have much more to say beyond that. The food is exactly what you would expect for the chain. However, the service is spotty. I have had some very nice an attentive wait staff, but other times, they seem to disappear for long periods of time. I need to find a better early Sunday morning breakfast spot in Columbia. Wanted to visit Bob Evans since there aren't any where we live. We were seated quickly, and we were excited about this. Not even the waitress's attitude could dilute our happiness. She took our order and brought us some lemonade bread. Cool! Because our seats were front row to the cook/wait station, we were able to determine when meals were ready. We'd been seated for about 25 min, bellies empty, but we were still smiling and laughing as we tried to guess which tray of food was ours. We didn't even flinch when the waitress came over and explained that she'd forgot to put in the order, and couldn't remember the orders. She also explained that the manager had agreed to charge 1/2 price for our order, our meal would be put at the front of the orders to get to us faster, and 'we should be lucky that she is so honest because she could have said the cooks messed up the order.' Huh?!? Of course, we agreed: Priority meal, 1/2 price, hungry folks, and an honest waitress. Can't get any better! Well, remember those front row seats? We were front row to watching our meal sit under the heat lamp for almost 20 minutes. Merriment turned to disdain and anger as patrons who came in after us ate and left. And not once did a manager come over to the patrons who'd become involuntary fixtures to the restaurant (us). Cut to 15 minutes later, when we FINALLY received our meals. No one complained as several orders were inedible, and other orders were (you guessed it) wrong. We just ate and got up. As we paid, we asked the cashier for the manager's name. Instead of the cashier requesting the manager, who happened to be walking by us at that very moment, she gave us the name, took our money, and sent us on our way. Another patron had to point out that the person was the manager, after we paid. Update: Spoke with manager. The manager wanted to comp our meal after the first mistake, but the waitress insisted that we wanted to pay 1/2. Really?!? And we had the honest waitress! 3 stars for the manager doing right by us. Upon check-in we were told it would be a 30-minute wait. One hour later, we were seated and ordered right away. 45 minutes later we got our food. It was mostly okay - the eggs and pancakes were room temperature and my daughter found a hair in her salad. The waiter was friendly but not especially fast. After waiting more than 10 minutes after asking for the check, we went looking to check out. The bathroom was beyond horrific. We heard people complaining about it while we were waiting for a table. Two hours later it was much, much worse. It was out of paper towels, someone had smeared things on a stall. It was completely unusable, especially when there should be some Covid protocols in place. When I had to go up to the counter to get my wife's beverage refilled after waiting an inexcusable time, I was done. Service = sucks. Yes, the restaurant was busy, it was a Saturday morning. Is busy a legitimate excuse for poor service? I say no. As for the food, it was fine. Of course my wife ordered home fries and received hash browns, so had to fix that screw up, but I have no issues with the food itself. If I could give this place zero stars, I would! I go to Bob Evans because it's family friendly and the quick food. Visited BE for dinner with my two kids and hubby on a Saturday evening. These were the highlights: 1) Waited 15 mins without being greeted by our server. Hubby finally had to go ask the hostess for assistance. Hostess actually ended up taking our food and drink order. 2) Still no sign of our waitress. We see a table nearby walk out. The table next to us are complaining about the quality service they are receiving. 3) 40 minutes after our arrival, server finally shows up with our food. Actually, she drops it off and walks away without one word. 4) Hubby's food doesn't show up until 5 minutes later. Again, server simply drops off the food. No words. 5) Server finally stops and asks us if we need anything. She makes small talk and awkwardly talks to my 4 year old; perhaps in an attempt to salvage a tip? 6) I quickly ask for my receipt before she mysteriously disappears again. I check the receipt while waiting at the register and realize, I was given the wrong receipt. Conclusion: The service is horrendous! Kitchen was a mess. To take 40 minutes to make a kid's grilled cheese sandwich is beyond me! We won't be going to this location again anytime soon! read more

Bob evens is a restaurant that me and my family have been visiting for 14 years. The food here has always been good it's our go to restaurant with our kids. The prices are very reasonable and many times we have coupons for the meals. Me and my family have tried almost every thing on the menu and really have never had a bad meal here and with the coupons we pay for a dinner that would cost as much as eating at any fast food chain. read more

Never was a fan of Bob Evans . Had breakfast there a few times years ago. Not very impressed. Saw the turkey spacial on TV and thought I'd give it a try. Sure glad I did. My food arrived hot and quick. And there was plenty of it. It had a nice stack of Turkey, big pile of mashed potatoes and gravy, good stuffing, and a nice cranberry mixture that tasted surprisingly like strawberries. Rolls and butter. After going to the one near Rt 100 and having a bad experience with service, we decided to give this restaurant one more try but at a different location. I had some gift cards to burn and we were in the mood for a really good breakfast, which we have had at the other Bob Evans. We arrived at 10:00 and got seated in 15 minutes just as we were told we would. The waitress took our order by 10:25 or so but after 30 minutes there was still no food. We observed through the window one of the cooks on his cell phone outside for 20 minutes. The waitress came by and we asked about our food. She checked and told us it was the next ticket up. Fifteen minutes later, no sign of waitress or food. We inquired to the manager and was told it was coming. We were so hangry at this point that we had to leave. It was 11:15. One solid hour at the table with no food. We gave our gifts cards, $40 worth, to a family waiting outside. I've given up on Bob Evans and will take my business somewhere else. read more

I am not a fan of chain restaurants but sometimes i just find myself at one. Usually at someone elses request but sometimes because it is just too darn convenient and I am in a hurry. Lose a star for allowing employees to sit on front benches to smoke. Very uninviting to arriving customers. Looks bad. Smells bad. Lose another star for no set ups on table and had to ask for cream for coffee (twice) and a spoon to stir it. Keep a star for very friendly and helpful service (when asked). Servers are undertrained but they are enthusiastic and fulfilled most requests even when we were not in their section. Oops. Lose another star for forgotten bisquets. Keep a star for quick delivery of food that was hot and fresh tasting. Food is a hair above average for a national chain (but miles better than Dennys - bleh!). Oops. Lose another star for not bringing second requested cream and for taking our spoons so we could not stir after we swiped cream from another table. The problem here is service. Maybe from lack of training. Everyone seemed to want to serve, they just did not do it well. read more

Pleasantly surprised. I'm pretty picky about breakfast & not usually a fan of chain restaurants, but sometimes a pregnant girl has gotta eat! My husband was shocked when I told him to drive to Bob Evans, but it was a weekend morning and I didn't feel like driving to Double T or Linthicum Luncheteria and couldn't handle a wait at Eggspectations. It looked very busy, but tables were being turned around quickly and we only waited a few minutes at the hostess station before being seated. Our waiter was friendly and service was quick. While the food didn't blow me away, everything was cooked as it should've been and tasted good. The only thing we weren't crazy about were the hashbrowns and they were just boring, but not awful. My coworker and I ordered a salad and a chicken dish from this Bob Evans on DoorDash around 10:30 in the morning. The driver pulled up around 11:00 and handed me a bag that contained ham, waffles and donuts. I tried to flag down the driver but he was pulling away. I texted the driver and he responded that that was the bag he was given by Bob Evans and he suggested I request a credit on DoorDash and reorder the food. I did what he suggested and around 12:05 a different driver pulled up (I tipped both drivers as none of this was their fault). He handed me a bag that contained the correct food and left. After unpacking the food, we realized that my salad was warm and her chicken was cold. We looked at the receipt and saw that it said 10:32. It was now 12:15. Instead of remaking our order, they sent the food that had been sitting there for over an hour. When I called to complain, the manager blamed DoorDash. I asked him how this was DoorDash's fault and, after thinking for a second or two, he said "Oh, I guess it was our mistake, sorry." My salad was disgusting...threw most of it away. read more

Couple that came in before us cut line and placed name on list before pregnant lady waiting. Well, it's been a while so nice I've Yelped, BUT I MUST. I went to this Bob Evans with a friend I hadn't seen in a while. We got there on a not busy mid afternoon Wednesday. We specifically asked to be put in an out of the way spot because we were going to linger and catch up. Hostess said "How fun! We all need that sometimes!" and several other niceties. We got seated and approximately 15 minutes went by when the hostess ran over and apologized profusely for waitress not appearing, yet. She took our drink order and we said we were ready to order and could we just do it all at once. She said "of course," and took our orders. As she was repeating our orders, a waitress appeared and got into a little pi$$ing contest with the hostess about just taking the drinks and she'd do the rest. Hostess explained she was already done and tore off the slip and went to hand it to the waitress, who then said "if you're done, you can go ahead and take it to the kitchen" and walked off. Waitress then brings our food and within minutes brings our checks. So, we finish eating, have to re~request take home containers, and continue to chat. Waitress comes over, interrupts, and blurts, "Hey, are you two going to be much longer?" We answered we were and had told the hostess so. She says "Well, I'm supposed to be off, now, but if you're going to sit here, I have to stay. If you go up to the counter and pay, I can clean the table and leave." My friend and I are RARELY speechless. We were BOTH speechless at that moment. So, I said "That's fine, we'll go." She replied, "well, you don't really have to, I can turn everything over to someone else, but if you're ready to go, I don't have to bother." When my friend replied "that's OK, were quite done," she replied "OK, then. Have a nice day!" and happily walked away. Who trains these people?!? Apparently no one! I travel A LOT and have never had anything but a seamless turnover of wait staff with a quick introduction such as "I'm off shift now/going to supper and this is "Judy" who will take over when I'm gone, so if you need anything give her a shout. It was great serving you. Have a great night!" The ENTIRE experience from the time I left my house until I got back was 1-1/2 hours almost exactly. That includes a 20 minute drive each way and 15 minutes waiting for a waitress to appear. So in 35 minutes we ordered, waited for our food, ate, and were all but asked to leave. Customer service was awful. My family and I were there for dinner. We ordered fried chicken dinners. After 20 minutes or more, the waitress came out to inform us that the chef was unable to open the fryer when the chicken was done and it would be another 20 minutes before we could be served. She gave us the option of ordering something else or waiting the 20 minutes for the chicken. We decided to wait. Not one time did the manager come out to apologize for the wait or say anything to us. That's BAD management on his part. To top it off, when we checked out, we had two Bob Evans e-gift cards with enough funds on them to pay for the meals. The cashier obviously did not know how to enter them into the system because he kept getting an error message. At that point, all we wanted to do was get out of there so we paid for the meals with a credit card. This is NOT good business practice! The waitress did her job and was tipped accordingly. Went today. It looked okay from the outside, which is where we should have stayed. The service was uncaring, the order was not delivered as ordered, and the food came out in odd phases. My wife got her hash browns 15 minutes after her room temperature scrambled eggs. And she ordered home fries in the first place. I got served refills on the water begrudgingly and only after it was empty for awhile. I ordered the potatoes extra crispy for myself, and they were barely cooked at all.
