Have not been here in very long time, maybe 20 years or so. The place looks like it's stuck in that time period. The entire inside feels like it needs an update. I went during a slow lunch time when there were only three other tables who all already had their food. Other tables that left prior stayed dirty and nobody ever came to clean them up. Staff just seems lazy and inexperienced. Food was okay at best. Nothing really tasted like it was made in store. Rolls were horrendously dry. My husbands chicken tasted fine but seemed not cooked enough in the thicker parts of the meat. Cheesy potatoes left more to be desired. Fish platter was just ok. read more

Good morning all, my neighbor and I dropped in for breakfast this morning. We both have been to this location, located at 8940 Colonial Center Dr, Fort Myers, FL 33905. Our usual waitress was not there. Was our waitress Ashlee ‍ informed that she only works weekends now. Ashlee took care of us,.not one bad thing to say , only positive. I started off with my usual, the Blue Ribbon Candy Bacon, but today's was not as before , just a tad bit over cooked . I followed up with the biscuits and gravey. They were just right. I have always loved Bob Evans and still do today, this location needs serious help with staffing. They are operating on a skeleton crew. The 3 wait staff trying to keep up with breakfast is trying everyone's patience. Crowds of people waiting to get seated with lots of empty tables with nobody in them. I can't say anything about the kitchen but just guessing from the speed the are short too. I certainly hope things get better for them. read more

I recently visited there and had the pleasure of meeting Amanda my server. She was so very kind and very present. She has been there 10 years. I would go back because of her. Jason is another star that works at Bob Evans. The food is amazing ! Get the combos! I do have to be brutally honest. The manager ( gentleman) that works in the morning is not very happy it seems. Never smiles. Does not say hello or even goodbye. When I left he gave me eye contact and nothing. .I was taken back by that. I ordered one of their Thanksgiving feasts and I couldn't run to give a review fast enough. This was possibly the worst food I've ever eaten. I'm usually pretty level headed but I just couldn't. Let's start out with the basics... The stuffing was really wet and salty, it had the consistency of pancake batter. Then, the mashed potatoes... there was an overabundance of salt. That seems to be the theme of the meal. Everything was over salted. The only thing that was decent was the pumpkin pie. I won't ever be trying another thing from them. A family member suggested this and they said they had a very different experience from a different location. I guess it's just my location that didn't make the mark. Not sure what has been going with the food these past couple weeks but it's been tasting awful ! Today gave it another chance and got served a southwest avocado omlette that tasted rancid . The avocado tasted very very rotten or like chemicals . The toast was soggy the hasbrowns were disgusting as well. Is this location running low on funds or something ? My husband ordered a caramel flavored coffee off the menu and the waitress looked at him like he had 2 heads, brought him the wrong thing, and then argued it was correct and continued to give us attitude the rest of the meal. We saw a waitress openly coughing in the kitchen and into her hands before serving food. The food arrived cold & bland. Completely flavorless and boring. I asked for no meat and mine arrived with bacon, my husband ordered no gravy and they brought gravy. The waitress said "I know you said no meat/gravy but that's how it comes" before taking it away and rudely saying "I'll get that out of your sight" as if we were offended. My hubby and I decided on a brunch since we hadn't had breakfast at this location. We were greeted promptly and with a smile from the host. Our server, Lori was excellent. She welcomed us quickly after we were seated with a smile and gave us time to order. Their Strawberries are in season here. My hubby and I ordered their Strawberry Farmers breakfasts. What a pretty picture in the menu and in when Lori brought out our food, it was even more appealing on our plates. My hotcakes were a total of three with the delicious strawberry drizzled over top along with just the perfect dabs of whipped cream not to spoil the flavor. My scrambled eggs were prepared perfectly along with my bacon and hash Browns. My hubby enjoyed Strawberry French toast along with eggs over medium, hash brown and ham. We usually like simple good food and like Bob Evan's but tonight was a disappointment- this restaurant on pine island road in Cape Coral left a lot to be desired - the worst was the service - one waiter for 7 people who didn't care very much - seemed friendly yet was not paying attention because he kept forgetting things that came with our order and had to keep going back after. Being reminded then while knowing we were waiting stopped to chat with another employee holding one of the for items he forgot in his hands until we called him over then stated, "it's right here in my hands you are not waiting for nothing" the dropped the final check on the table saying I'm dropping this now because I have a lot to do without asking us if we wanted dessert which we would have ordered but by that time we just wanted to go - won't return here Food quality very disappointing read more

Last two times I visited local Bob Evans I was disappointed in a number of things. We visited the Bob Evens on Cypress Lake near Costco. We ordered breakfast with eggs over medium with sauce and hash Browns. We got eggs over runny whites, the sausage was cooked to the point that it was so hard that you could drive nails with them . We could deal with the eggs. We sent the sausage back. The waitress brought out a replacement for the sausage it was also over cooked. The coffee was watery. Today we visited the store just off Colonial . The wife ordered a chicken sandwich and I ordered a fish platter with a side of Cole Slaw . I pointed at the fish platter on the menu. I got a fish sandwich and my Cole Slaw. There was onion rings ordered with the chicken sandwich. The y were over cooked. The fish sandwich came with onion rings. They weren't to bad. Rather than make a fuss, I ate the sandwich. The onion rings were crunchy and would have been better with catchup. There was none on the table, and none were offered. After the food was served, the waitress was not in sight until she came back with the check. I have over the last several years seen that there have menu changes not just at Bob Evans, also at Cracker Barrall, and a number of other restaurants. The prices have gone up, and the quality has gone down. I realize that some of this is because of bad decisions being made in Washington. It's time that manage takes a look at cause and makes changes to keep the quality of the product read more

Very clean and well managed. Service was excellent. Greeted upon arrival and sat with a smile. The food at bob evans is very consistent among all locations however this location seemed a bit better than average. Many of their breakfast items have a higher calorie count than what most people need for an entire day. All menu items noted with calories which allowed me to make a smart choice - goat cheese veggy omelette. Coffee is always great and the store allows you to take home some tasty food items or other branded items. read more

I have been to this location many times before and always had a pleasant experience..however tonight was not the best. The server was nice and the Manger was doing a great job. She was even going to the tables to make sure everyone was satisfied. I ordered the pot roast hash breakfast meal and asked for a side of sausage gravy to go with the biscuits that came with my meal..when the bill came I seen that we were charged $5.99 for the gravy which was almost the price of my meal so I asked the waitress and she said that she thought I wanted the full meal with the biscuits so she would ask the Manager if she could adjust the bill. The Manager came over and said unfortunately al la carte for a side of gravy is $5.99....I'm thinking..huh? That is crazy....I knew it wasn't that much so I looked up the price after we left and sure enough a side of sausage gravy is only $2.69. It's only a few dollar difference but thats not the point...hopefully next time if we go back it will be a better experience. Could not decide between take out, or go somewhere to have comfort food. Long week. First Time at this Bob Evans, it can be hit or miss. This one was a Hit. The Food was very good. The staff was kind and attentive. Eva, took care of us and she was magnificent. The assisting staff was also very good and they seem to work well has a team, helping each other out and assisting customers that were not even assigned to them. Their breads are always really good the banana bread and rolls warm, fresh gives you that feeling of home cooking specially if you're out on the road. Even gourmet food gets tiring after a while. This Bob Evans is nearby a medical complex that belongs to Lee Health called The Sanctuary. When we arrived it was busy & there was a wait but they seated us fairly quickly. Our waiter was Jason. We've been there a few times & always get good servers but he was great! Jason was knowledgable about the menu & was very friendly & attentive. Tried home delivery service they have set up through door dash. I ordered 2 family meals and items were missing from my order. Called and was put on hold for 10 minutes before I hung up and called again. Manager got on the phone after another 5 minutes of being on hold to tell me he had no way of getting the missing items delivered to me. He said he would send a gift card. Did not offer to reimburse any of my money that I already paid for the missing items. The manager actually came up with several excuses, stating that food items are stolen by delivery drivers all the time, he claimed that he couldn't see on my order where my missing items were listed, said he thought it was weird that i would only order 3 family sides with 3 full family entrees. To be honest, I have never ordered a carry out order from this location without an issue. I do not recommend this restaurant to anyone. read more
