Love this place. I usually get a cup of fruit along with breakfast staple items but instead of being served a simple cup with maybe 3-4 varieties of fruit in it, I'm presented with a fruit tray, almost a charcuterie, of six different fruits which was unexpected. Now this tray was a bit more expensive than a cup of fruit from some other places, but that's OK because the fruit was ripe and flavorful and well worth it. It's good to change-up the expected every now and then. I will definitely re-order it again. I;m looking forward to another visit real soon. I haven't tried the Bananas Foster Waffle yet but it looks completely over the top and crazy with a scoop of vanilla ice cream that appeared to me to be the size of a softball as I was hypnotized by it and trapped in its vortex of apparent deliciousness, Sadly it was ordered and delivered to another table. My only nit-pic would be that the chef work on the scrambled eggs a bit more and not too cook them longer, but cook them slower so they come out fluffier, moist, and without any browning on the underside. A chopped up omelet is not scrambled eggs. The eggs were still good but there was room for improvement here. I realize the chef is trying to get food out as quickly as possible, and its easy to let scrambled eggs go too long on the heat, so maybe I'll mention it to the wait staff that the eggs do not need to be hurried. The wait staff was prompt and attentive, and the various style of PJ's were a nice touch. The front of house is kind of big so noise can be an issue but it wasn't terrible on my most recent visit with the dining room about 3/4 full. If the restaurant got enough complaints about the noise levels, it would be pretty easy to fix with some strategically placed sound abatement materials to cut down the noise level even further in the dining room. read more

Gave this a try for breakfast recently and we were...underwhelmed. Most of what we had was just ok, though the one exception to that was the home fries. Those were excellent. They had a nice, crispy texture, and came out hot. Our biggest gripe was the price for what we got. For what we paid, particularly for basic substitutions, we'd expect good quality from-scratch dishes, and that didn't appear to be the case here. Ultimately, if you're looking for a good breakfast around Franklin Township, this will do, though you'd likely find a better value elsewhere on the southside. read more

So, this place is really cute I like their decor. Their signage is clear. The service was good. My server was prompt. Our food came out really fast. I got the eggs in a basket, it states they are over medium. They weren't even close. Definitely over hard and spread so thin in one part that was see through. They have those kind of mushy hash browns you know what I mean? Crispy in some places but mostly just mushy. Definitely not my thing. I sent my whole breakfast back. They took it off the bill but I did not receive an apology or anything. My husband had a breakfast burrito and it was very good. Hash browns of course were the same problem. The kids and I needed to get out of the house for a bit and this 'new' place looked like a good choice. We were greeted when we walk in the door and seated quickly. It appears we timed it timed it perfectly as the open seats filled up about 15 minutes after we arrived. Our waitress was super friendly and took good care of us throughout the brunch. The menu is pretty robust offering a decent variety of things and some morning 'brunch' type beverages such as mimosa's. The menu did not appear to have anything off the wall or super original, but had the normal breakfast items. I ended up with the biscuit and gravy combo, the kids got some pancakes and french toast. My Bs and G combo was pretty good, nothing crazy memorable good or bad. The kids seemed to enjoy their breakfast, but was about the same, not incredibly good or bad. The kids meals for $6.99 but we added on some OJ and Chocolate milk.. overall the bill was roughly $35 which i'm happy to pay for a what i assume is a locally owned business. Ordered through Ubereats and paid for 2 orders of bacon but only received 1. Received 2 orders of pancakes and no syrup. When I called to let them know the order was wrong, they told me I only was charged for 1 order of bacon so I had to walk the lady through basic math in addition to being told my pancake order didn't come with syrup. I've been here a few times and it's pretty good. I've only ever had the chilaquiles. It's delicious and not something I can get everywhere. The salsa is tangy and a little bit spicy. I always get scrambled eggs with it and it's topped with white onion, avocado and sour cream and served with hashbrowns on the side. They have great service and are always very attentive with coffee refills. We typically go on the weekend and it's always packed. This time there were 3 families in front of us waiting but it took us less than 5 minutes to get seated. Even though it's super busy, the service is still pretty quick. I learned about this place from all the positive feedback on our Franklin Township Chat group on Facebook. Finally was able to come in and check it out yesterday for breakfast. I had the Chorizo Skillet with over easy eggs. My meal came with either 2 pancakes or toast, I chose the pancakes. My BF got the Meat Lovers Omelet, where his came with the same side option-- he got toast. My Chorizo Skillet was so good and the skillet was completely full. Eggs cooked to order. Great amount of Chorizo and came with a side of salsa. The pancakes were light and fluffy, with a dusting of powdered sugar. The Meat Lovers Omelet was packed full of Meat, no skipping on that. He said it was really good. I asked him if he would get it again, he said yes, but then quickly said no, because he wanted to try other things! LOL Which brings me to my next point, that they had a great selection of food options that all sounded good. Even their lunch options sounded really good. I've been waiting for the traffic to die down a little. Whenever there is a new restaurant in Franklin Township it's always packed to the brim with people. So this morning we got up early on a Sunday to make our way to Rise and Shine. We were greeted by two hostesses as soon as we arrived and sat down right away. They have a pretty extensive menu from eggs, to skillets to crepes. One of the things I really liked was their selection of pancakes. They have strawberry banana, cinnamon swirl, and blueberry just to name a few. Hubby got the biscuits and gravy and hash browns. I'm doing Keto so I only had the fresh fruit and ham but I plan to come back on a cheat day for the pancakes or crepes. When we checked out the manager/owner (?) was working the cash register.
