    Banana Nut Bread
    Jayme P.

My first trip to a Bob Evans restaurant! I only know Bob Evans from frozen breakfast sandwiches and breakfast sausage at the grocery store. There were a surprising amount of options on the menu for breakfast, lunch, and dinner! I was even surprised to see a few Veggie options, which could be ordered without eggs and cheese if you'd like. I ordered the Avocado Protein Breakfast Bowl, which came with a side of fruit and Banana Bread. I loved the cilantro lime cream sauce and the sweet potatoes which made the dish very hardy! The banana bread was also very moist and delicious! I was torn between the fresh fruit oatmeal and this dish, but I'm glad I ordered what I did!

This was supposed to be an omelette .. no cheese no onion not the first time I have ordered and it came like this Thanks for wasting my money

Stopped in for a quick breakfast. Greeted immediately and shown to a booth. Drinks came quick, as did my sausage gravy and biscuits. I got the country fried steak with extra gravy with 2 medium eggs cooked great, and a side of grits that were the right temperature and texture!!! Everything was good and cooked right.

The tomatoes on the burger were diced, not sliced. I've never had them that way, but it worked. The french fries were really just about perfect. The place wasn't crowded--just two staff members were present--but it did take a little while to be acknowledged. There was someone ahead of me who I thought was in line, but he was actually waiting on a DoorDash order. It seemed like the staff were preoccupied with that, which delayed them noticing new customers walking in. According to my husband, the menu changes frequently. I browsed a bit and decided to go with a classic chicken cheesesteak--just mayo and banana peppers. I got it as a combo with a drink and onion rings. They only offered soda or water for drinks, and I do wish there was an alternative like juice or tea. I'll admit, I wasn't expecting much since we're not in Philly--but let me tell you, that first bite changed everything! The chicken was perfectly seasoned, the cheese was just right, and the bread was the perfect texture--not too soft, not too hard. It was seriously delicious. The onion rings weren't your typical rings with raw onions inside--instead, they seemed more like a crispy, flavored version with a mild onion taste, which I actually preferred since I'm not a big fan of onions. We also ordered a cheeseburger meal for my kids (not listed on the menu but available), and my husband got the loaded Philly steak fries, which he really enjoyed. All in all, the food exceeded my expectations. I'd definitely come back, especially for that chicken cheesesteak!

The inside is what you would expect from your typical bar, dark moody atmosphere with several tv screens, billiard games, etc. We tried an order of mozzarella sticks, the fried catfish snack which came with a side of fries and Texas toast, added a side of loaded grits, and finally one of their most popular dishes, the chicken & shrimp gumbo. Everything tasted very good. The grits had strips of crisped collard greens which I thought were very unique and had a nice taste. Their chicken & shrimp gumbo I also enjoyed, but it was different than the traditional style. A little too heavy on the chicken and lighter on the roux, which was very thick, but I still loved the meal and would definitely return to try more!

The wait staff seem to also be bartenders, so they generally are busting their butts keeping the bar customers and food customers helped. I don't remember what I ordered on a previous visit, but I regretted not getting something cajun, as I am a huge fan and it is a lot of the menu. This time I did get the chicken and shrimp gumbo and it was OK, but kind of bland. The portions are reasonable. Next time I would probably get a burger or something more grill specific and probably have a better meal.

We had a cousin in from out of town and met up with him and his coworker. My partner picked Cap City due to the brand reputation and food. We made a 1:30pm Lunch reservation via OpenTable. We were warmly greeted upon arrival. Inside was immaculate and inviting with an upscale vibe. The food was, of course, delicious. The overall service was slow and it was a smaller table for four (we should have been in a booth) so the pacing of the dishes were off to start. Rolls didn't come to the very end because we had apps and then main dishes. When I had asked about the rolls, as I thought they forgot, I was told they just had not been out yet since we did not have room on the table. Also, we weren't really attended to and didn't see the server hardly at all, with long times without being checked on. That's the easy summary on service. I am sure it was an off day for the server or just the time of day. It wasn't terrible just below expectations for the price point. Back to food, my partner and I started with the Blue Cheese Chips, I enjoyed the Meat Loaf Dinner, and he ordered the Eggs Benedict w/Crab. Rolls at the end. We found street parking on Riverside but there is a parking garage near the front entrance. This really should be a 3 star review with the service aspect but going with 4 as the entire party enjoyed every bite. I would recommend and the food and company made the lunch!

So after a quick Yelp search of lunch near me, the first hit was Olde Towne Cafe and Inn which had five stars. I decided to check it out. I have to say I drove right past it! I was expecting for something a bit more store-fronty this really looks like a house and I missed their signage. I turned around on Rail Street... got distracted at Porters but within five minutes was back on track to Olde Towne. They have a small parking lot which had a space, so I eagerly parked and popped i side. It is super cute. Very farm house-ish. Definitely a old house converted i to a bed and breakfast with most of the downstairs rooms dining. The kitchen can be seen from the room I sat in. It looked very clean and organized. I browsed the menu and decided on pancakes. They are served with bacon or sausage.... Im not a huge meat eater so I chose bacon and crumbled up on the pancake.... Ended up pushing it off the pancake and not eating it. Not their fault. Bacon is fine but Im just liking bacon less and less. Today was a no bacon day. Lol. However the pancakes! Wowzers. Huge. Fluffy. i got two that were each almost as big as the oblong platter they were served on. I couldnt finish all of it. They were delicious. I see why people give this place a good rating. The staff was welcoming and make you feel at home. Its just a good old fashioned breakfast/lunch spot. Not bougie at all... which to me is a plus "not" to be bougie.
