We were surprised that while it was a bit slow, the wait staff were still busy cleaning and making sure the place looked nice. This is one of the best Bob Evans I have been to, in terms of quality of food, service, and cleanliness. I ended up building an ala carte meal consisting of scrambled eggs w/cheddar cheese, bacon, home fries, and wheat toast. The food arrived fresh, hot, and with a smile. I also ordered a French vanilla cappuccino, it was decent, but a bit too sweet for my taste. If I'm ever back near the Xenia area, I'll be stopping by this Bob Evans for some grub. Food is very tiny portions and tastes horrible, we picked up food from there and my house is literally 4 minutes away on gps. Fries were cold and soggy and the rest of the food was cold and tiny. Do yourself a favor and for your family and go to Cracker Barrel or anywhere else. read more

Visited around 2:30 in the afternoon. Many empty tables. The 'manager" took our name and said that it would be a short wait. He was going to check in the back. Waited several minutes. Three of us, many empty tables. My friend checked with the "manager" once again and he was very indignant and stated it would be just a few more minutes. Stopped in for lunch this afternoon. Just wanted to say how great our waiter Will was. He was very attentive and friendly. He seemed to have a lot on his plate because a bunch of his female counterparts seemed more interested in chatting and gossiping with one another than doing their jobs. Will made a point in not only doing his work, but their slack (I know this to be true, because one of the chatty girls asked him to bring one of her tables their food for her, not only that but another customer who was sitting towards the back of the restaurant with his family had to come to the front and ask for drink refills because their waitress was inattentive...one of the pack of chatty, gossiping female waitresses), Will also made sure to stop and actually listen to an older customer who was eating alone, making conversation with the man. I've been here 4 times with my parents because they live in Xenia. All 4 times I've come to this location they have scewed up my order. I haven doned in a couple times when they first opened and it was decent. The last three times I have gotten carry out food it has been poor food, poor service and poor management. The very last time I went in was to pick up an order of soup I ordered online. I was in a hurry so I was already feeling a little impatient, they could not have conducted the logistics any worse. Upon entering I went to the carryout counter, after waiting a few moments a gentleman approached me and ask if he could help, I told him who I was and that I had placed an online order for a bowl of soup, he then turned around, picked up my bowl of soup and said that it was ready, he then set it back down and told me he needed to wait on the other worker to finish ringing out another customer on the other register before he could ring me out (I guess they only had one register that worked or was open). Upon the other customer's business being concluded the gentleman walk up to the register, another gentleman approached and ask about his order, the employee then looked his order up and told him it wasn't ready yet but he would go in the back and check on it, a few minutes later he came back and told him it wasn't ready and would be a few more minutes wait. By this time a dine in customer had come up to the register and was being rung out. An older lady then came out of the kitchen and ask me if she could help me, I told her that I was waiting to be rung up for a bowl of soup that was sitting behind her, she then went to a third cash register and rung me out. I was a little upset over the wait but in the end not a big deal, but they had not put the chives and bacon bits in with the soup so I had to go back in and get them because the person I was getting the soup for likes it because it comes with chives and bacon. So I go back in and ask them for the chives and bacon bits, the kid that is standing there tells me that the potato soup does not normally come with chives and bacon bits but he will be happy to provide them to me free of charge. I didn't say anything in response because the menus says it comes with those items and it has always came with those items in the past and this kid may have felt like he was doing a good deed and I didn't want to ruin it for him because after all, he works at a Bob Evans restaurant (hey at least he has a job, the world need burger chefs too). Another time previous I had went in and picked up several items (including potato soup with chive and bacon) and I had gotten the "wildfire" chicken salad. When I got it home it was actually a cob salad and the chicken had bbq sauce on it instead of hot sauce, I was hungry so I tried to eat it, the greens tasted like they had been freshly sprayed with pesticides, so I took it back. The time previous to that I had gotten biscuits and gravy to go, the gravy must have been old because after I ate it I felt like I was going to die for about 24 hours, thank God I didn't because you may notice from my other reviews I am not about to check into any nearby hospitals for any reason whatsoever. These three experiences this year at this location will likely leave me refusing to return. Hopefully it was just bad luck because the first few times I ate here it was standard Bobby E, the last few times it has been the standard of dog crap. Perhaps reviewing the management and/or training or retraining the employees on product safety and delivery along with prioritizing would behoove this establishment. read more

We had been going here for breakfast often. However anytime I've gone in the evening it's been terrible, horrible service. I went to get a to go order and stood there for at least 5 min. None of the staff acknowledged I was there. And kept helping other customers. The manager even came up front but not paying any attention. Seriously get some customer service on your night staff!!!! hey.i ate here about a month or two ago and i'm just getting to writing a review but i feel like it would be appreciated either way. i ordered a steak with a side of carrots and a small cup of cheddar baked potato soup. let's start with the good, the carrots were soft but not mushy and tasty but then again that was the only good part. the steak was like a small underdone roast if that makes any sense. although it was underdone it still was kinda chewy and was not a good steak. i don't know if it was the quality of it but the steak just want right. the cheddar baked potato soup was entirely to heavy. it was just straight melted cheese with tiny pieces of baked potato in them. i don't know what i expected but it certainly wasnt that. i couldn't get through three bites without having heartburn. anyways the wait time was very short and we came before the dinner rush. the sever was very nice and attentive and that is the only reason this place got two starts. overall i don't recommend and i think you could find somewhere else with better quality food. thank you. read more

Worst bob evans I have ever been to people don't show a positive attitude towards the customers there are only 2 friendly polite people that work here did not like our table but the person who seated us was very rude and unfriendly while we were sitting there was a waitress behind us that kept talking to a customer about random things and didn't even bother to take out order we sat there for about 9 minutes till another worker who was enjoying his lunch noticed we had been sitting there a long while and walked up to us and took our order he was very polite and friendly read more

The food is always good. Never been a problem in that area. The servers are great as well. But if you plan on doing carryout, double the estimated time they tell you. The carryout has consistently been a slow area in my multiple experiences. Not enough so to keep me from coming back, though. Just plan on being patient and everything will be okay. read more

I processed my first on-line carry out order at the Xenia local Bob Evans that we frequent regularly in person. Of five people's food orders two were missing completely and one lacked its bread element. Well these things happen and I wasn't happy about it but I wasn't mad either. I called back to the store and was connected to the "Manager" Mark. I explained what the issue is, suggesting he should be able to confirm the situation because the missing food was probably sitting there in a third bag that we didn't get or still at n the cook's shelf. He says I can come back and they will remake the items or they will process the credit in person. Why should I need to give up 30 more minutes of my Saturday morning and drive back there for them to make right on their mistake. I asked Mark if I should have to return to the store for this to be corrected and he said, "If you want a credit - yes!" So, I'm heading back to the store, for the last time, to get my money back. The only thing Mark "managed" is to piss off a former regular customer. read more

I have stopped at Bob evans here in xenia several times, and have experienced poor quality of food, waitresses who act like we owed them for stopping, and this morning 5/30/2019 was unable to get a seat, I left as did the couple in front of me, why have the restaurant if all this is going onI go out for an experience not this, I get better food at home , I wont be back for this knowing if its going to be good or not, why would I pay money for this?? bad food and bad waitresses means no visits, I do hop emore reads this, and boycotts this restaurant read more

The service here was awfully slow and the bathrooms were very messy the first time I got my food I ended up finding a long strand of hair in my hash browns but the staff was very nice and they replaced my food for me so I think it's gonna be awhile before I come back to this specific bob Evans or at least until they go under better management. read more

We just waited 20+ min for a table with half the restaurant empty (Tues. Night 6:30 p.m.) We understood they were understaffed for the wait staff but accepted it. The food took forever (45min) and once it arrived tasted off old grease. My 2 yr olds pancakes and eggs were greasy but just ok, her potatoes were NOT edible. They were out of all breaded chicken, WHAT?, so I had grilled and again...taste of old grease, NOT edible. Our waitress apologized for both wait and food taste as if their were other complaints. She mentioned the cook had walked out the day before. She told us to tell manager too. The guy at the register seemed to have heard similar complaints but once the manager arrived she kept asking me about my service. She even questioned our wait time. After meeting her I could see the issue may be her. In full disclosure she gave us a deep discount but that wasn't our concern as much as the quality of food and service.
