I really did have an excellent experience here at this Bob Smith dealership. I needed maintenance done on my scion and I had such a horrible experience at the Glendale dealership that I will never go back. I dropped my car off in the morning and had an easy pick up. Yarns out a hose that was under warranty was broken and needed to be fixed. I love that they are always smiling here and are so polite. They don't make you feel like you're wasting their time. I took my car in yesterday to get that hose fixed and same exact thing. So nice and polite and it didn't take all day. Oh. And my car got washed both times it was in there. Both times. And all of my gas was in the tank. Not one mile was added to my odometer either, and the car was brought to me and they even opened the car door and shut the door for me once I was inside. Is that too much to ask for? Glendale Toyota wasn't able to do any of that stuff for me when I went in there over the summer! The ladies that work the main desk are also super nice. They are busy ones too but never ever act as though they're too busy to assist you. I will always take my car here from now on for repairs. read more

Pretty cold heartless shady behavior here. I came here last year for service, this incident honestly still bugs me. They tried charging me 500$ to replace the front lights bulb on my car. Called me twice trying to rush a decision from me both times confirming their price after questioning it. A simple search online and i found a 5 minute video showing me how to do it myself for 40 bucks. Im young and admittedly know little about cars, crazy this older fellow tried taking advantage of me for 500$ bucks. Recently I found a pool of oily fluid under my 2007 Lexus RX350 with 100,000 miles. I brought it to service writer Z (short for Zareh) just before closing. Zareh and his staff put the car on a lift immediately. A first look indicated it might be a leaking timing chain cover, a very expensive job because it requires 35 hours labor and dropping the engine. I love this car, so I said, please call and confirm in the morning. We live nearby so my wife picked me up. When the phone rang the next morning I was delighted to learn their mechanic cleaned a great amount of oil around the engine compartment, used a dye to trace leaks, and reported that there was NO leak from the cover or anywhere else in the engine compartment after a 45 mile test drive. I was charged for the mechanic's time, and they did a good job cleaning up because there have been no leaks on the floor in the last month. If you are looking for a good deal (and a dealership that won't waste your time) then skip Bob Smith Toyota. I was in the market for a new Tacoma, during the COVID19 outbreak. I called 5 different dealerships, and 4 of the 5 dealerships were willing to offer me reasonable deals, with phone/internet communications. Bob Smith Toyota told me that I would have to go in to their dealership "to get their best price". So, I go in, during COVID19, and they offer me only $500 off the MSRP. I probably don't need to tell anyone that "$500 off" of sticker price is NOT a good deal at all. Bob Smith was the only Toyota dealership that required me going into the dealer to negotiate price (during COVID), and they were by far the highest priced of the 5 Toyota dealerships that I talked to. Bob Smith is a tiny dealership, with limited inventory. They don't cut deals, they just waste your time. On top of that, they try hard to pull you into the dealership during a pandemic. They don't price competitively, and they don't act with any social responsibility. If you are shopping for a new Toyota, do yourself a favor, and call one of the other half dozen Toyota dealerships in Bob Smith's general area. When I confronted the sales manager his response was that "their staff is trained to get people into the dealership, while giving them minimal information online or on the phone". Seems like a pretty dumb thing to admit to in the midst of a global pandemic (a pandemic that requires social distancing). read more

Made a appointment a week early, they saw me right away. There was no line of car when dropping my car off to get serviced. They have a big waiting area if you decided to wait there instead of go home. They have free shuttles that will give you a ride home and pick you up, if you don't want to wait there. The prices are alittle steep, however I had a coupon from a competing business and they honored and matched that price... They do paper mail you coupons for service... so keep them! You'll need them! Tim called to give me an update at about 9:30am, After they did the diagnostic inspection he let me know what recommendations they had with other issues concerning my car. The price was fair. They let me know the car should be done around 1:30 and it was! At 1:25 I got a call that it was ready and picked it up later that afternoon. Overall, I feel I got more than a good deal for my regular maintenance and on other parts & service. My trip cost me about $545.00, if they had not honored the coupon I had it would have been $745... I feel for the service, quality and amount of time I had to wait.. I feel I was treated like a VIP! From now on there is only one place for me to go for all car concerns.. Bob Smith Toyota!!! Rumor is the owner is really nice so I walked in expecting a different car buying experience - honest and fair with little haggling. But nope, the place is just like every other car dealership. I get it, the salespeople have to earn a living and they will try to get you to spend. Some are far more aggressive than others with cheesy smiles and jokes that are meant to disarm but I found it very off putting and insincere. It's best to go in prepared and do your research beforehand. I personally don't feel they have the customer's best interest at heart. They want to sell a car and make a commission. So you will have to fight for a fair price and good APR. Research those things before you go in. Also research purchasing the warranty because they will try to sell that to you too. I am giving the place 3 stars because it wasn't terrible. It was like any other car dealership I've dealt with in the past. You gotta go in prepared or you can kiss your money goodbye. read more

These guys were AMAZING. I had a flat tire that happened nearby and couldn't be changed because of a missing wheel-lock key. The sales people let me park my Prius in their service lot for the week (until the part arrived in the mail). Greg Bakalyan in the service department was a dream! He helped me through the whole thing and when I came with the wheel-lock on Thursday, they took care of me right away. I was in and out in less than an hour. This is a really special dealership. After relentless car shopping for a while I finally found this dealership down the street from our house and really lucked out. Everyone was so helpful and kind or made the process that much easier. To top it off, I misplaced my keys and every single person in the dealership meticulously searched for them for hours only for me to realize I left them at home. But they're that generous and giving with their time. Service work on my car is is quick and efficient but it's the highly personal customer service that puts this dealership above all others. I'm not a car person and this was my first adult new car purchase. I went into a few dealerships to narrow down what type of car I wanted and when I decided on a Prius, I started calling dealerships for pricing and availability. Haik was very friendly, gave me the best price over the phone and emailed me all of the information without hassle. I continued calling around and got one better price but only because the car itself had a few less features. In the end, I went with Haik at Bob Smith Toyota because he made the entire process easy and stress-free. He treats people the way he would want to be treated and you can definitely feel that. I was happy with the price, outstanding service and friendly atmosphere. Everyone I encountered at the dealership was welcoming. Even at the end, there was a bit of a hiccup but they didn't pressure me. Everyone was very understanding that this was a big purchase for me and I didn't feel rushed or anything even though it was past closing time for them. What. Terrible. Service. I had my 30,000 mile service appointment today, and it was mind-blowingly horrible. Upon receiving a call that my car was ready for pick up, I went to the Toyota Center. After paying, I had to wait 15-20 minutes while my yellow car pick up slip was tossed from employee to employee. It seemed no one had the time or energy to help bring my car out. In the end, two employees went looking for my car...in opposite directions - they didn't even know where it was parked. After all this waiting, I left in a rush for another appointment. Upon inspecting my car an hour or so later, I noticed that my car was NOT AT ALL washed. Toyota boasts a complimentary car rinse with each service, but my car was left just as dirty as when I had brought it in for service. I called the Toyota Center and the receptionist told me to bring the car in for a rinse per Service Manager, Daniel Hernandez. When I got there, I had to wait 5 minutes for Daniel to turn up, and when he did, he claimed that this Center no longer offered complimentary washes because City of Glendale told them not to. He said he didn't know who told us to come back here or why. Daniel also claimed that without the water softener they "used to have", my car would be left with spots. He insisted that I would be pissed off at him if he washed my car and left it with spots, so he said with attitude, "Go to a car wash and bring your receipt back to me if this is so important to you." Having driven all the way back to the Toyota Center, pretty much denied a car wash after being instructed to come back for one, and talked to with such attitude, I decided to leave then and there. Upon driving out, I saw TWO cars being hosed down. I pulled over once more and asked yet another employee why those cars were being washed while mine hadn't been. He said, "It's random. The guy washes whatever he gets to." So there you have it. Receptionist says we will get a complimentary rinse courtesy of the Service Manager, Service Manager says we do NOT get a wash because this service is no longer offered, and employee says car washes ARE still offered and completely RANDOM. Totally disjointed and rude service. All for $200+, $140 of which are for "labor". Do NOT come here if you want to be treated like an important customer, and definitely do NOT come here if you expect to get your car rinsed. read more

Most often, buying a car is like having dental surgery: you know you need it, but it's really painful. Not here ... Misleading and degrading. My husband and I recently went to Bob Smith Toyota after seeing an advertisement on their website for a 2017 Toyota Highlander XLE that was listed at $21,990. We went to the dealership the next day (more than 24 hours after seeing the original advertisement) to see the car and see if it was something we were interested in purchasing. Upon arriving at the dealership, we were shown two 2017 Toyota Highlander XLE's, both charcoal grey and fitting of the description online. They were both listed at over $30,000. We asked the salesman about the price and explained how we had seen the car listed online for $21,990. The salesman explained it may be a mistake (human error) and told us he would speak with his manager about the issue. After test driving the car, we sat down with the manager who had a roundabout explanation of how the price listed on the website was not a mistake but also stated that they would not sell it to us at that price. The manager told us that the dealership had purchased the car at $21,990 from someone who had the car repossessed. He then showed us the paperwork that showed they paid around $25,000 (with taxes, etc.) for the car and then moments later told us that they had spent $27,932 on the car total and that they could not sell it to us for less than that. They were blatantly lying to our faces after showing us the numbers on their purchase of the car. He told us that the only reason why they had originally listed the car at $21,990 was because that was what they had purchased it for and it was "automatically" put up by Toyota at that price. I explained to him that I felt we were being misled as the price online was listed at $21,990 and was listed at that for over 24 hours. The manager's only response was "I just got here." After expressing my disappointment, the manager had the audacity to disregard me completely and speak directly to my husband as if I were not there, and as if he had the final say in our purchasing the car because he is a man. He told my husband that he would hold the car for us for 24 hours. After feeling completely disrespected and degraded, I told him we would not accept the car regardless of him "giving us a deal" at the price of $27,932 without taxes and fees. This dealership not only falsely advertises, but they are completely disrespectful and sexist. I would never come back here and would rather pay more to not be disrespected and degraded. We went into the dealership thinking we were getting a deal, but dodged them trying to swindle us for more than $10,000. read more

I am a single mom with three kids, so dropping a car off for the day with kids in tow can be challenging and stressful. They accommodated us with the proper size Lyft to transport us while the work was being done. Well, I forgot my home key on my car key ring back at the dealership, so now my three kids and I are stuck outside our apartment. This is an update to my service from last week and the continuing mirror debacle. After spending part of last Saturday there to put in a side mirror that I had scheduled a replacement for the week earlier, but they never ordered... I came back this Saturday to get said mirror put in, so I made an appointment online right after I left last week. I decided to get a new FOB because my older ones were getting a little sketchy. I know they are expensive so I was preparing for that. They said about $300... I was kind of expecting that so there is not an issue there. I added that online to my appointment for 9:30 am Saturday. I brought the car in promptly because I never like to be late, I checked in my car and mentioned that I was there for the mirror replacement (that I had paid for a week ago) and a new FOB. They called me at 2:30 pm and told me it would be $775 for the FOB... I nearly crapped my pants, and I decided I was not going to pay that... figuring I can get it done cheaper elsewhere (which I found out I can) so I told them I was going to pick up my car. I got there about 3:30 and they brought me my car... WITH THE BROKEN MIRROR STILL ON THE CAR! So I am a little peeved at this point and asked them to put the new one on, to which they replied that the guy that does that had gone home??? The guy checking in the car was very apologetic and after me venting a little he said he would try to put it on (I like this kid!). He was a little unsure so he asked a service guy about it and got basic instructions. He was a bit timid in replacing it... but I'm sure he was just cautious about breaking something. So I had to step in and get the mirror off the car, disconnect the wires and ready it for the replacement (in their driveway)... I got the mirror off and reconnected the wires and placed the mirror on the hooks and had to put it back in. Since I was doing the work at this time, and it was being finicky... I decided they wouldn't be accountable for "me" breaking the mirror if it didn't work, so the attendant found someone that would do it. It was already in place so all he had to do was give it a pound and I was finally on my way. And to make the day even better I realized that I had scraped the shit out of my new L.L. Bean leather shoes while I was installing a mirror... on their property... when I had to get on the ground to look inside the housing while was installing the mirror they didn't put in. Looks like I will have to find another service center to bring my car. Out of 4 visits there, the only time I didn't have an issue was when I came in for an oil change and tire rotation. If you look at my status you will see that I'm not a complainer, but they really need to get their information flow and follow up in order. read more

I won't be back to their service department. Terrible service. I had an 11 am appointment for oil change and brake check. I was told it would be two hours so I decided to wait. Three hours later after texting and calling the # I was given at check-in with no response, and trying to talk to the service agent in person, I finally got the attention of the service agent as he walked by. He gave me the info that my brake pads needed to be replaced and it would take another 1 1/2 hours to do that. No apology, just an explanation that he "got busy". I'm gonna assume you are busy... This is why I made an appointment!!! I should have read the previous yelp reviews more carefully!!!! I called Bob Smith Toyota to get an appointment for maintenance. They asked for my phone number which often helps them find my information and the car details. They confirmed my appointment and I went there only to be told that I will have to pay for the car maintenance. Toyota care has 5 free maintenance services. They refused to service my car, they kept saying that it is past due date. During the pandemic many people started working from home, we weren't driving as much. Except from that, they could've told me this over the phone and I wouldn't have bothered myself driving to there. read more
