I just got home from my first adjustment with Dr. Bob. All I can say is I feel AMAZING!!! I am an EMT and spend my day at work responding to emergencies and lifting patients. My lower back has always been sore because of this and having not been to my chiropractor in over a year due to financial reasons I decided it was time to find a new Doc. If you live in Long Beach, Dr. Bob is THE GUY to go to for all your vertebrae needs. Not only is he a great chiropractor, you can't beat the pricing and he is ridiculously witty and funny. I have been to many chiropractors and Dr. Bob is hands down the best one. One thing I really liked is the fact that he doesn't try to upsell you. I've had a lot of chiropractic, and have worked as a CMT in two chiropractors offices in the last 20 years. When my hip felt out of joint and I began walking funny, I knew i had to get it looked at. I had moved away from my doctors so I sought recommendations from neighbors and friends. "Bob The Chiropractor" came the unanimous replies. 10 people recommended him. I hopped on the website and in three minutes I had an appointment for the next day. The morning of my appointment a text arrived allowing me to fill out paperwork prior to the appt. I really appreciated that digital onboard process. When I arrived I was seated in a massaging chair (!) and the doc saw me. He explained his services, but wasn't sure my knee pain was related to my hip, but I'm really self aware and manage my healthcare proactively. With my years in massage and chiropractic I just felt like my lower back could use an adjustment. Within seconds after my adjustment, the pain subsided and my hip was squarely under my torso, as opposed it sticking out to the right. I had my first pain free night in TWO MONTHS! And this morning I'm walking without the kink in my leg, hip and the pain was miniscule. Bob The Chiropractor is on "Team Danny" from now on. Hooray for Bob the Chiropractor! I've always had a bit of back pain and being a college student, getting the medical attention I wanted wasn't always an option. I searched for chiropractors in the area on yelp and sure enough, I found Dr. Bob. The reviews are certainly correct. Dr. Bob is affordable and the first doctor ever that I have not felt completely awkward talking to. Dr. Bob welcomed me instantly upon my arrival and I could tell this guy was hilarious. He truly cares about what is troubling to you, the patient, and then he gets in there and explains to you what the issue is, how to fix it, and what he is going to do while you are at your appointment. He taught me stretches to help me loosen up my muscles and alleviate some of my back pain. He gave me methods to care for myself without his help, so that I will not end up relying on him alone. He believes in a "straightforward" approach and it put me at ease! Dr. Bob adjusted my back in ways I did not know were possible, in a good way! He never pressures you to come in for many, many follow up appointments (like so many other chiropractors) and encourages you to honestly just take care of yourself!! I will be visiting him again, because I feel that it will be beneficial/necessary, and because he is AWESOME. Some things to point out: - The office is a little small, but it doesn't feel cramped at all. The space is utilized well. - Parking is on the street (on Broadway) and you'll have to either pay at a meter or a parking garage. I have been going to Dr Bob forever. Maybe forever is an exaggeration but since he first opened the office and was there by himself. Besides the chiropractor adjustments I have also been going for massages. Over the years I have had experience with about 5 different therapists and have no complaints. Last December I had a major accident. I fell off a ladder putting screens on a second story. Broke my heal in 4 places, broke my leg and compressed a few discs. With physical therapy, muscle atrophy, learning how to walk with kinda a new foot and ankle it has put stress on one side of my body. I felt out of wack. I knew a massage would make me feel better and I knew Jeremy, my now regular therapist for the last 4 years, would deliver as he always does. Perfect pressure all the way through. At the start of each session he asks what I would like him to concentrate on. I usually say my lower back. This time I let him know I need attention to my left side from my foot up to the hip. Wow! He pulled tricks out of his bag that he had never used before. He knows his profession. I loved he was able to customize the massage. It shows he really knows the art of massage. I usually see him about 4 or 3 times a year. Today after my massage I immediately made an appointment next week for a stretching session. A new service the office provides and Jeremy does. Such a good man ! I went to see him, and being this my first visit to a Chiropractor, all i can say is, it was a wonderful experience. Great , clean and nice place. The front desk personel is so nice too. Don´t hesitate to give yourself an adjustment. I´m 49 years old and my back was in need of a complete alignment. I had spent the past few days feeling apprehensive, anxious and just nervous about the whole thought and process of going to see a chiropractor. I think the thought of someone playing around with my spine worried me a great deal. I was also terrified of what findings would be unleashed about my back. I wasn't quite ready to deal with or handle. I have suffered lower back pain for a long time, mostly since I damaged it a year ago on a hike. It just hasn't been the same since. Going in to see Bob today, was a ray of sunshine and positivity for my "back" future. I walked in, a nice smell hit me, candies in a bowl on the reception and welcomed by a beautiful smile that was the nice lady on reception. Bob's face was printed on everything, the fan in the waiting area, on pens, business cards and just everywhere you looked...there was Bob! The cute array of games and the personal touch in this business was just perfect. Instead of feeling nervous, apprehensive and worried about my back issues, I was already feeling positive and uplifted by my surroundings. I hadn't even met Bob yet! My husband ate the candies, I drank the water and then in came Bob! He had clearly read everything I had written down on the questionnaire and made a few kind jokes, then took me for a consultation which was different to say the least. Different in a good way though. I walked out of that place with positive results and booked myself in for a massage next week. The prices are affordable if you don't have insurance to cover, they have a nice selection of teas in the reception area including "Smooth Move" which also won me over. I would recommend this place if you're having any kind of back issues or require a massage for a good price. Ok so Dr. Bob is awesome! He is friendly and fun and makes you feel like a new person! I am a mom of two Littles and I was in terrible pain, so much that I could not turn my neck.
