I have a huge sweet tooth, but this was way too much. It tasted like milk after cereal had been sitting in it, and i barely got any tea flavor. The staff were great, super friendly, and they gave one of the clearest drive through speaker boxes I have ever heard. The mural inside is also fun. The drinks from the Rowland location are decent, so when my husband and I were in the area, we decided to swing by this place to grab a drink to share. We got the uji matcha latte large size. Although there was only one car in front of us on an early evening, it was NOT GOOD from the first sip. Neither of us could taste any matcha. It was overly sweet as if condensed milk was frothed. I've ordered uji matcha lattes from many places and this one is not it. The amount of sugar with no tea flavor whatsoever was really disarming. I took a few sips thinking it would taste better but no, it was flat tasting and crazy sweet. Husband gave up after two sips. We tried mixing it with coffee the next day but it was still the most imbalanced overpriced milk drink I've had in awhile; it just couldn't be fixed. Maybe it was just a bad order, but I hope their other drinks are not as ridiculously sugary and unflavored as this one was. I may give them a try again, but I'm not sure due to how badly this drink came out. Perhaps this place fits more people who have a major sweet tooth versus someone looking for a more balanced milk tea drink. You've been warned. read more

When there's no line for the drive thru, you need to take advantage and go. The popcorn chicken is good and generous in size. Perfectly crispy and medium spice has a nice kick to it. Comes with a dipping sauce. I've liked most of the drinks here and it's not the priciest of boba shops out there. There's a few non caffeine options too - smoothies and yogurt drinks. But for the most part the menu is not overwhelmingly large. That's what this place does well, not an insane amount of choices but the drinks are made well. I have not visited this spot in years and decided to stop by after my gym session, as all other boba shops nearby have closed already. This is a drive through setup and ordering was quick and easy. Service was quick, efficient and friendly. The size portions and prices are very fair compared to other competitors. This little part of what looks like a stainless steel dish scrubber tool was found in my nephew's drink. Saturday 11/29 around 8pm he got a strawberry yogurt- was delicious. But what looks like the remnants from a stainless steel scrubbing tool was found inside of the drink. My young nephew had this little rough sharp thing dislodged in his throat, but thankfully he was able to cough it out. I've been coming here since they opened at the Arcadia location and I always bring people here. They have the best takoyaki and I love the drinks. The wait times have gotten better over the years and even though the recipes have changed, I still enjoy the drinks. I do miss the pudding in my tea though but the lychee jelly keeps me satisfied. The biggest issue I have with this place is how awful the inconsistency is with when their kitchen hours. I've been here multiple times where the place doesn't close for another 1.5-2 hours and the kitchen is already closed. I come here for the drive thru convenience and I'm somewhat of a loyalist. I love the food. But tonight was the last straw for me so I decided to write a review finally. I'm 5 months pregnant and I'm always craving their takoyaki. I ordered a takoyaki and my usual tea order and the window cashier (who was very friendly and professional) told me that if I had ordered at 10:35 he would've made my order. I ordered at 10:38, there was a large line out into the street, and he decided to split hairs and deny me part of my order. They don't close til 12 so I feel like an hour and a half is adequate time to close down a kitchen. I won't be coming back. Those 3 minutes were really worth it I guess. This is the last time I'm turned away with adequate closing times. I usually end up at meet tea in Rosemead for food every time this happens. They don't close til 2am and have a really great dining area and are fast when ordered through yelp. They have always made my food. Meet Tea also has a mix and match special. Boba Ave Express is such a cool spot, mainly because they have a drive through. You pull up, order at the window, and pick it up at the next. Super easy and convenient, especially if you're on the go. I got the Mango Yogurt Blended, and it was really refreshing. Not overly sweet, nice balance between the tartness of the yogurt and the sweetness of the mango. Perfect on a warm day. I've known about this place ever since it opened but I've never had any interest in their beverage offerings. I decided to come by after craving a protein heavy snack and from the pictures/reviews it seemed theirs was a large portion. I went around 10pm on a Wednesday night, no one else in sight but also there was a sign saying "Now Reopen" or something to that effect. I ordered the popcorn chicken with medium spicy. It was $6.95 which seems quite cheap. I proceeded to the next window for payment and receiving the food. Barely one minute after (maybe less) the chicken was brought out, so I'm guessing that it's not fried to order. Nevertheless, the chicken was decent. It was very chunky, where I had to break apart some pieces to get bites. I did taste some crunchy bits at the bottom that tasted like oil which I think could be the result of reheating when the oil starts pooling. The portion was fairly large, coming in one of the large/extra large size drink cups that you would get at the movie theater, so the value is quite good for $7. Also, I got a cup of whipped cream. (From looking at pictures, it seems this was intended!) I didn't see this until I was done with the chicken, but I ate it since it was there, and it was yummy. Also the chicken was not really that spicy even though the worker said medium was pretty spicy. Maybe it's just my palate since I can eat very spicy food. Overall, I would come again if I wanted a well priced portion of popcorn chicken. read more
